This tonkatsu restaurant specializes in different cuts of pork and has gained quite a reputation over time—it’s even listed in the Michelin guide. We had to wait for a table since we didn’t have a reservation, but the kind staff managed to seat us nonetheless.
We tried two menus: one with loin and one with fillet. The restaurant offers several grades of pork, ranging from superior to premium. The meat was generally good: fried to perfection, with a crunchy exterior and no trace of oily aftertaste. Prices were also fair considering the quality of the meat.
That said, the fillet was a little disappointing. Some parts were slightly overcooked, and the texture didn’t match my expectations for tenderness. Surprisingly, the loin—though less expensive—was far superior, with the perfect bite and texture. The sauces provided were also well balanced and complemented the dishes nicely.
Overall, this place is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. Despite the small letdown with the fillet, I’d be happy to return and give it another try.
