The London Khachapuri Power Rankings - London - The Infatuation

"A cylinder of bread stuffed with stretchy sulguni cheese and cooked over hot coals until it’s crisp and, in our experience, as hot as lava. What’s not to like? The khachapuri shampurze at Geamos—a cheerful St John’s Wood restaurant where everyone is made to feel like extended family—hits all the right cosy, carby notes. It’s golden, warm bread, twisted into a loose coil, and stuffed with mild cheese. It made us feel like the favourite child as it was paraded through the dining room towards us." - sinead cranna

Google
I absolutely love Toni Khachapuri! I’ve eaten here many times — it’s always delicious, fast, and super affordable. The khachapuri are just incredible, truly comfort food at its best. Perfect spot for a quick bite or a filling meal. My only small suggestion: please consider replacing the adjika — it slightly takes away from the overall experience. But other than that, everything is amazing. I keep coming back! ❤️

Google
Located inside of Oui, the khachapuri are delicious! Mushroom is a great non-meat option and the drinks and donuts from Oui are amazing as well! Staff is friendly and very helpful.

Google
Recommend original khachapuri, very tasty and good meal even for two people

Google
Such delicious food! We loved the mushroom and garlic khachapuri and the strawberry and feta salad. The quality of the ingredients and flavors are excellent. Friendly staff. So good!

Google
Amazing food. The place is kinda small but it has seating indoors and outdoors We got three types of khachapuri and everyone of them were amazing. Me and my friends loved it. Will definitely come here again

Want to try khachapuri? There's really no better place to not only try, but stay in love with it. The dough is chewy and perfect, the cheese blend amazing, and the toppings stellar. Just awesome quality, super nice staff. Gonna become a staple...

Google
The place doesn’t have this name on their sign, it’s a Korean place if I’m not wrong. But as soon as you find it, order the khachapori. It’s a Georgian traditional dish. It was really good, we took the traditional one with one egg and another one with two eggs!

Google
Great little spot with excellent food. Seating indoors and outside. Good variety in the menu and high quality ingredients. Received my order within 15 mins of placing the order. Workers were pleasant and friendly. Street parking only but it’s easy to get a spot on a weekday and it’s only $1 for an hour. The food was delicious, the crust was crispy and flavorful, the cheese was good quality and melted, and the egg was fresh and tasty. Really low key and not busy, close to a lot of sights.

Yelp
Love the Khachapuri very close to authentic Georgian, cheesesteak is great too, only minus is very small inside

Yelp
This was the first and only place I've had Khachapuri and I'm hooked! Their dough is so simple yet delicious, the cheese is warm and melts, the toppings add a wonderful salty flavour pack. They're always so nice and helpful here too. Definitely one of my go to stops in LA!

Yelp
I have no idea what the difference is between Oui and Tony Khachapuri but I love them both, lol. I've been obsessed with their khachapuris for years now and go all the time. I actually got delivery for the first time from them this week during the SuperBowl. I'm happy to report everything was still equally delicious when delivered. Don't sleep on their cookies! All of their baked goods are tasty but something about the cookies. Nomz like I'm a blue puppet on Sesame Street. The peanut butter are so soft and flavorful. The chocolate have big ol' hunks of cocoa on top and it's actually a unique attempt at reinventing the chocolate chip cookie that pays off. Really~ good. Now, let's get to the Khachapuri of it all! The truffle khachapuri is pricey but you saw the word truffle, right? Pretty much guaranteeed to be a hit. I love all their types, including plain, but I think my favorite is the pastrami. It actually makes a nice breakfast meal with the addition of meat over the soft and airy carb, topped with soft cheese and an egg yolk. This spot truly produces some of the best eats in town and I'm a loyal customer for sure!

Yelp
The owners are Armenian, but offer some Georgian specialities. We ordered the lamb and beef laffa which was very tasty. As for ambiance, this place is pretty much a hole in the wall. It's not wide but really deep with the seating in the very front. In short, it not fancy more like a fast food place.

Yelp
This is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic khachapuri. With its savory filling and welcoming atmosphere, it's a place where you can indulge in delicious food while being treated like family. Just be prepared to leave with a full belly and a happy heart! I can't wait to return for another round of this delightful dish :). Also, I recommend the garlic and house sauce. It's only a buck!

Yelp
Ajarski Khachapuri is my all-time favorite breakfast/lunch item. I have had dozens of places growing up from a young age. Tony Khachapuri is the best Ajarski that I have had in LA thus far, by a mile. Always consistent, always perfect.
google avatar

Yelp
This places serves Georgian food and specialize in their Khachapuri. The Khachapuri is like a boat bread with cheese and egg. I was so excited to try this after missing out on it in Seattle. These also have different flavors of Khachapuri. Mushroom and Garlic Khachapuri (2/5): I was honestly very underwhelmed with this dish as I thought it was taste as great as it looked. The bread was way too hard and stale. The flavors were not strong. The texture of the cheese tasted tougher than it looked l. Definitely did not have the smooth consistency I was hoping for. Also it did not make it taste better at I had to wait over 20min for this. Now that I finally gave it a try, I feel relieved. Probably wouldn't come back, but you should try this at least once in your life.

Yelp
Tony Khachapuri is inside Oui Melrose. I don't know where Oui stops and Tony begins, but they sell Mediterranean-style food like laffa wraps and khachapuri, which is basically a cheese boat/pizza. I got the original khachapuri with a zataar crust and a peanut butter cookie. The pizza tasted fresh and the zataar added a zing. Not sure if it's authentic, but tasty. It's quite large, so it's for 2 people or 2 meals. The cookie was pretty solid too. I'd love to try their laffa wraps next time.

Yelp
I thought this place would be overrated but it's actually really good The food arrived still hot, all the flavors were great and the dough is just perfect. Every time I go to La I crave Khachapuri and this is definitely my new favorite one
google avatar

Yelp
Do you see all this. It's like a party in your mouth. After a long week and this really was a perfect way to end the week. This is my very first time having this. It gives like a very fresh pizza vibe. With the hint of breakfast. The best part of dipping the fresh bread in the yoke. You can also order double yoke! The service was great ordered the food and that's when they start making this.
google avatar

Alex D.

Yelp
Went there at 11ish on a Saturday. Parked on Orange. There was a family of 3 seated at a table inside awaiting their order. We ordered the original and garlic mushrooms khachapuri and we got the maple glazed donut. The order took 20 mins. The khachapuri was perfect. I totally recommend the mushrooms and garlic kind. The donut was amazing as well. Service was friendly but a little slow.

Angel A.

Yelp
Tried cheese khachapuri, cause I don't eat eggs. The Cheese one iwas great! Give you 5 star!
google avatar

Stan E.

Yelp
It a very rare dish in LA but how good is it. My favourite is Pastrami Khachapuri, I want to eat here every day!

Artyom S.

Yelp
If you like Armenian or Ajarian style "ajarski khachaputri" this is not it. Couldn't it it because of cheese. I know everyone have different taste preferences ,but this was first time in my life i haven't finish ajarski khachapuri.

Lucia W.

Yelp
My first khachapuri so I don't have much to go off of but I thought it was absolutely delicious. The fresh bread is freshly baked and the people here are so kind and considerate. I wouldn't recommend the wrap though - not particularly tasty. The ambience is very casual - it's more of a grab and go spot or a quick meal. There isn't a ton of seating, maybe eight tables in total between indoors and outdoors. I will be coming back as soon as I can.
google avatar

Mark A.

Yelp
Outstanding! The place is a small hole in the wall but the food is fire. The mushroom garlic khachapuri was so amazing! It was one of those meals I'll never forget. The coffee and orange blossom doughnut was also excellent. Don't miss this!

Yelp
Loved the food!!! Super convenient and fast service. Very friendly staff. Will be going back for sure.

Yelp
AMAZING food - mind blowing!!! So good and cannot wait to go back. Don't blink or you'll miss it - parking stinks BUT WORTH it!!!!

Yelp
I'd been looking for a Khachapuri place and had seen Tony Khachapuri around so I was surprised to see they had moved even closer on Melrose and had slightly changed their menu up. My friend came over and as it got closer to dinner time I suggested heading over to Tony Khachapuri. Their new menu had a bacon option and it was only natural that I went with that. We ordered and it took a little while, but the space was empty and we were the only ones there so we got to sit comfortably until our orders were ready. The drive back wasn't very long but I was worried it wouldn't travel too well in an unventilated box. I was worried the bread would soften. I should have guessed it was fine, after all the bread is designed to be torn off and dipped, like an ooey, gooey, cheesier, richer version of spinach dip in a sourdough bowl. I also underestimated how filling it would be, before I started I figured I might need something else to get full but I was plenty satiated with it by the time I was done.

Olivia M.

Yelp
An amazing experience! Freshly baked! Yammy! Delicious food with old traditions! I would recommend to anyone anytime!
google avatar

Lel S.

Yelp
Tony's khachapuri is the best khachapuri in Los Angeles. I'm Georgian and khachapuri is our traditional dish, so if I say it's the best you can trust me!

Yelp
I was pretty hyped up to try the Khachapuri here, as I'd had it book marked for a while, so I dropped by on a recent outing to Hollywood and gave it ago. I mean how could you not want to try a Cheesey buttery Egg boat shaped bread dipping thing. We got the bacon and egg one and also a mushroom one. I think the easy comparison for this would be that it looks kinda like a flat/bread or pizza. WHich it kind of is and I did enjoy it, but I felt like it was way too much bread and needed a bit more of the egg and cheese and bacon, it wasn't enough filling for the dipping. The mushroom one was actually better imo. They're like $15 each and I'd say that it was kinda tiny for that price. It is filling, but it's a lot of bread. That said they do make it to order, so you'll have to wait like about 15 minutes or so for them do make it. It's decent, but I had higher hopes for it. I would definitely give it another try. I think if you order it to go or get it delievered it'd still be quite good. This thing should travel well.

Yelp
Yum, yum, yum, with excellent service to boot. Stumbled onto this place and we were thrilled that it had a nice selection of khachapuri, something we'd become addicted to during our NY days. (Georgian food is next-level but is difficult to find in LA.) "The Original" version is fresh, fragrant and filling, a trifecta that never gets old. The cheese is gooey, and the bread piping hot, with a dusting of cornmeal along the edges. TK also adds pickled peppers on the side, to help add some acidity to the salty nature of the cheese. Another bonus: The owner, Arven, and staff are super outgoing; they gifted us a fresh and delicious glazed donut, which was far and away better than most others we've had in town. We're looking forward to exploring the rest of the menu, which features a lot of Middle Eastern-inspired foods.

Yelp
When your local food blog says that khachapuri is the next hottest thing, you have to oblige and try it out for yourself. They were right. I now love khachapuri's. Ordered via Postmates courier and was very happy with my delivery and choices. Black Truffle Khachapuri - AMAZING. If you love truffle (who doesn't) this is a great choice. The black truffles combined with the cheese and egg yolk is nothing short of extraordinary and was heavenly to eat. Definitely worth the splurge to indulge. One is enough to fill you up! Soujouk Khachapuri - Good! This one features a lot more egg yolk and hence will taste more like "eggs" opposed to the black truffle. Delicious as well. First time having soujouk and it was great. Definitely try this place out if you love cheese and carbs and want to try something new!

Yelp
I had ajarski before which is a boat shaped pastry with cheese and egg inside the baked dough. A khachapuri is pretty much the same thing although not really sure what's the difference between these two. Tony Khachapuri is located inside Bahn Oui. Few bar type seating so the shop is ideal for takeout orders only. Colorful wall on one side, open kitchen behind the ordering counter, no restroom available. Limited parking shared with other businesses. I had the khachapuri with black truffle. Dough was made fresh while waiting the thrown into the oven. A few minutes after, I was served freshly baked dough with melted cheese inside and one egg yolk on top then sprinkled with black truffle. It was warm enough to be able to stir in the egg yolk into the melted cheese. It was truly a delight to watch and a wonderful treat to enjoy a warm, fancy pastry.

Yelp
I didn't take a photo of the mess I created because I have to acknowledge that when it came it looked too food to take a picture. The bag with the garlic paste taste of the sweet potatoes fries is so aromatic and I am thankful for it. This is the first time I tried kachapuri and I had the sweet potatoe fries the original and Soujak. They were all so delicious. I had one with zaatar and the other with sesame. They are changing the game of pizza and this is just soo delicious. The garlic sauce is a great addition to the mix for a dipping sauce. The only thing I have to figure out is do I use a fork and knife or so I fold this monstrous thing. Hands down this thing is amazing and should be tried by all. I noticed the delivery options and regular menu had some different items so can't wait to pick up next time and see if I can get the truffle.

Yelp
Came in to check out Tony Khachapuri for a promo on one of their Khachapuri. This place is located inside Banh Oui and it is a bit different to go to Banh Oui and order something totally different. Looking at the photos of the various types, my mouth was watering. In reality maybe because it was a promo the one I have received was the smallest khachipuri I have ever had in my life. The truffle cheese mix was great, the bread was interesting, but they broke my yolk :( lol. In my honest opinion I wasn't 100% satisfied with what I ordered and if it was an item I would pay for it would be a definite hard pass. Parking: private lot with valet, street parking VERDICT: One and done

Revaz M.

Yelp
Was visiting LA from NY, found this area near where I was staying and had a craving for my people's food. Had to give it a try because of all the great reviews and was not disappointed. As a Georgian this gets a 10/10 from me and the peanut butter cookie was on point too 10/10. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Rotem P.

Yelp
Ordered the pastrami khachapuri, and my friend ordered the fish sandwich. We both really enjoyed the food. I ate original khachapuries in my life and this was one of the best I've tried

Oksana M.

Yelp
Delicious khachapury like in back home. I ordered trough delivery it's was fast. I recommend

Frances C.

Yelp
Tried the bacon khachapuri & garlic fries for the first time through uber eats and they had amazing flavor and quality! Definitely would order again!
google avatar

Narine T.

Yelp
Just ordered 5 boxes of Khachapuri for office staff through Postmates. AMAZING!!!!! Is all I can say. I ordered the chorizo khachapuri except substitute it for sujux on zaatar crust. So delicious!!! For sure ordering again as I'm not close to the restaurant.
google avatar

Katie B.

Yelp
Oh my god this place was incredible! Well worth the drive and well worth the wait for a fresh, khachapuri! I went on a weekend and i should have ordered in advance but even if you order it there and wait its only like 45 minutes which is pretty good for a made to order baked good! I got the sausage one and it was sooooo good. The sausage and cheese were perfect and went so good with the egg! We also tried the mushroom one which was super yummy too! A good amount and selection of mushrooms! Both were cooked perfectly, hot and fresh and soooo good. Fresh bread, cheese and an egg? Perfect meal! Can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Kevin Q.

Yelp
Second time having khachapuri and it hit! Super cheesy, wish there were some more toppings even though I got the soujouk cus it was overwhelming with just the cheese towards the end.
google avatar

Margarita W.

Yelp
Ok this place is hidden inside a modern Banh-mi place called Banh Oui. The atmosphere is very cool and contemporary with rock music playing in the background as you eat. Service is quick and very friendly. Food is cooked fresh right after you order. This Khachapuri is unique and a cool spin on the traditional one. We got the cauliflower kale on the Za'atar crust. It's essentially an open faced calzone filled with feta cheese and crispy kale and cauliflower with a yolk on top. Comes with a side of pickled jalapeños. Tasted more salty than spicy but I liked it. Good compliment to the main dish. I enjoyed it.
google avatar

Marco C.

Yelp
Hard to find... Not clearly visible from the street. Portion is kinda small for the price. I've tried the truffle which seems overpriced For the size. Quality is good
google avatar

Andrea B.

Yelp
I came for the everything bagel khachapuri that I saw in an article online but they no longer serve it with that crust. The menu photos on here are outdated. I had the bacon and chive khachapuri with seasame crust and it was delicious, a bit too salty for my taste but everything tasted good! Waited about 10-15 mins to bake, happy customer

Bharath S.

Yelp
Best Khachapuri I've ever had! The cheese was perfectly melted and didn't congeal immediately and the bread was nice and chewy. Delicious flavor too!

Jeffrey R.

Yelp
Super sweet staff. We were stoked on the menu and he matched our stoke by bringing us an extra little side. Delicious food and great vibes.

Yelp
Best Place to get your Khachapuri Fix!

Hannah E.

Yelp
OK, so khachapuri, to me, will forever be that massive too-rich yet too-delicious thing I accidentally ordered upon landing in Georgia (the country, not the state) where I only finished 1/3 of and gave the rest to a homeless lady. I can't have a bite of it anywhere else without remembering that experience - the shock and joy I felt (followed by utter devastating fullness) when I realized that, yes, there is a dish that is essentially a bread boat full of butter, cheese, and raw egg, and it's socially acceptable to order it. I always share my khachapuri with at least one other person so as to keep the overall impression 'tasty' rather than 'food coma'. And so I did with Tony's soujouk version. Tony uses far less butter than other versions I've had, which can be a plus or a minus depending on your preference. The soujouk itself is a garlic punch to the face, as it should be. I like that they allow you to choose what kind of dusting you want on your bread boat, although it's too bad I didn't know that until I went to pick it up, because no one gave me the option over the phone.
google avatar

Victoria R.

Yelp
I really hope this place survives the pandemic because IT IS DELICIOUS. I visited the county of Georgia in fall 2019 and fell in love with khachapuri - how could you not adore a bubbling caldera of cheese and egg? This khachapuri was just as good as that I ate in Tbilisi and offers a variety of other flavors to choose from, if you want to switch things up. Ooey gooey richness worth making the drive and horrible struggle to find parking.
google avatar

Melanie H.

Yelp
OK this place is ACTUALLY a hidden gem! At first glance, it seems small and unnoticeable because the signage is a little hard to catch, but this place has exceeded all expectations. It was my first time trying Georgian food, which is very similar to Mediterranean, and was pleasantly surprised that the mushroom khachapuri tasted as good as it looked! My friend and I also split the lamb and beef gyro Laffa which was equally as amazing, and topped it off with a just sweet enough creme brûlée donut! We definitely had to hold ourselves from trying everything on the menu though! Will be back next time for sure!
google avatar

Amr M.

Yelp
Incredible food! Super fresh and adds a unique twist to the dish :) food comes out quickly too!
google avatar

Chance K.

Yelp
One of the most unique bites in LA, serving traditional Georgian pizzas with creative toppings that'll make any foodie's mouth water. Be warned that the khachapuri can sometimes be quite a greasy affair...especially if you order the one with bacon. Unless you're super hungry, one khachapuri is probably enough for 2 people to split, along with a side or two (I recommend the garlic fries!)
google avatar

Eleazar B.

Yelp
Service is pretty good, food so delicious. I wanna come back later cuz I really like it

Yelp
Review for Tony Khachapuri and Oui - Everything about this was perfect. 11:15am on a Saturday - no line, indoor tables available. A few donut flavors weren't made yet. By the time we finished all their donut flavors were stocked. Friendly folks behind the counter and we got our food quickly. Holy s***t, you guys. THE FOOD. Original Khachapuri - the PERFECT amount of crunchy crispness on the outside of the bread with just the most wonderful fluffy softness in the middle. And then you tear a piece off and scoop up summmadat cheesey goodness from the boat. Dang. You guys. It's so cheesy and goopy without being "bland cheese gob." Salty, garlicky. The egg yolk seals the deal. It's a perfect dish. Oh! AND the bottom of the boat stayed crisp somehow. Sorry to all you Soggy Bottom Heads out there. Fried Fish Sandwich - I like a soft bun, and it was. The tartare sauce was dilly and awesome. I like when dill is in things. I thought the amount of sauce was perfect, but my partner, who doesn't enjoy a mayo based sauce, thought it was a little too much, but still liked the flavor. The fry on the cod was perfectly crunchy. It's not the bulbous bready batter that gets greasy - you know what I'm talking about. AND THE PICKLES! A+ pickle flavor and the slices were thoughtfully placed so you get some pickle with every bite. Orange Blossom Pistachio Donut - the donut itself was soft, fluffy, melt in your mouth style. Raised? Perfect is what it was. And the dunk gunk was so delicious. The orange blossom flavor was just sweet enough, light, floral, and lovely. Floral without being perfumey. Really a special donut. I highly recommend. Your friends and lovers will be impressed. Did not get a photo because once I saw the food, literally (figuratively) nothing else existed. Sorry to my lunch companions. Hmmm...since in my brain I perceived of nothing else, it could be that "literally" nothing else existed since we create our own realities? To an extent.

Yelp
I went to Tbilisi, Georgia a couple of years ago and fell in love with Georgian cuisine. Lots of wine, butter & carbs ... what's not to like? Since then, I had been looking for a decent khachapuri in LA and was consistently disappointed ... until I found this place. They've got a decent variety to choose from, and even different crusts ... I thought the za'atar crust was amazing! This is the closest I've found so far to what I was served in Georgia. If I nitpick, the cheese isn't exactly right, but that's because unpasteurized cheese isn't allowed here. Also in Georgia they add a little dollop of butter to the top of the filling that melts over it and makes it that much more decadent ... Tony, take note. Other than that, great stuff! I served it to friends as an appetizer with a bottle of Georgian wine, and the first timers gave it a rave review. Strangely located inside the hip Vietnamese eatery Bahn Oui. Parking is absolutely horrendous, but I got lucky with a street meter spot about a block away.
