"Patron pizza saint Tony Gemgniani is offering a new pie dubbed the Faithful Sicilian, inspired by the 49er Faithful fans, for just this Super Bowl week. This pizza comes slathered in hot honey, garlic oil, and Cup & Char sausage (it’s usually only available at Levi’s Stadium). The pie will leave rotation on February 11 and is for sale at Tony’s Pizza Napoletana and Slice House by Tony Gemignani in San Francisco’s North Beach for $38 per pie." - Paolo Bicchieri

"If going to Tony’s Pizza Napoletana is like visiting Disneyland, then heading to Tony’s Slice House next door is like turning on the Emperor’s New Groove, kicking back on your sofa, and calling it a night. That’s because this place still has recognizable aspects of Tony’s, but is smaller and easier to access. Instead of waiting in line for a few hours to sit and have a gigantic menu of different pizzas to choose from, Slice House is a counter-service spot with only a handful of options to choose from, like their wood-fired New Yorker or just plain cheese - available both as a whole pie or by the slice. They also have other things like meatball subs and calzones, and while you could eat at one of the tables outside, this place is great when you want to grab your food and head back home - probably to eat while you watch your favorite Disney movie and open a few bottles of wine." - Will Kamensky

This establishment is part of the Tony's Restaurant next door, but here is faster service just for take out pizza slices. We purchased 2 plain cheese ($6 each) and a 4 cheese pizza slice ($7.25 each). It was very busy even on a Sunday evening, but the line went very fast. Our food was ready in about 5-7 minutes. The pizza looked good and were extra large, but was dry and did not have much tomato pizza sauce. I believe since the slices are reheated the sauce dries out and thus would recommend getting a side of sauce or buying a whole pie from the original Tony's next door.

I’ve come here multiple times, and can say that the majority of the time the staff manages to do the almost impossible task, where they take a slice of pizza that’s already cooked, and fail to warm it up in an oven that’s already on. It honestly takes skill to fail to do this. I even ask for it to be extra hot, it gets printed on the receipt, and they still fail with probably the most simple task a pizza shop can do. Funny how they don’t fail at charging an “employee mandate fee”, pizza box fee and asking for a tip on takeout though. The New York slices barely have any sauce on them, and the Detroit style is like eating a loaf of bread. All this place does is give hella dough, and sparsely spread out the reminder of ingredients. I’m tired of taking a gamble and getting served cold dough 80% of the time, so I will not return anymore.

Great pizza! Had a slice of each, NY Big Kahuna, NY Cheese and NY Pepperoni slice. The cheese slice and soda (no refill) is a great deal for $5.75. The other two slices were $7 & $7.25, not bad for these giant slices. The crust was so crunchy and the sauce was delish! Service was good, they're polite and fast, we waited about 15 minutes for our pizza. They take cash and card. There are tables, but no one cleaning, maybe because it was busy. We cleaned our own table. There was no bathroom, but you can prob use the one in the restaurant next door.

Fast take out window though there's always a line :) that's how you know it's a neighborhood fave. Simple pizza by the slice, usually 5-6 types, plus a Detroit style thick crust square to choose from. Got the pineapple slice and a regular cheese. The pineapple was surprisingly different- with thin, ring cuts that are nicely toasted instead of watery chucks. Huge slices, ~ a fifth of a pizza it seems. Outdoor patio for the main restaurant with limited seats, people usually just stand and wait outside.

Ordered through uber eats for pickup and this is what I got. Not only was my order not ready by the time they estimated, they hadn’t even started making it until I got there. Barely any ingredients for this “award winning” Cal Italia for $39+tax. Never ordering take out from Tony’s again. At least in person, Tony’s is good for the price. This is just infuriating given how small it is…

Google
massive slices and definitely filling. must add the chili oil + peppers to add a layer of flavor. big kahuna: personally not my favorite, pineapple chunks hard to eat

This was a quick little pop shop style where I waited about 10 minutes for my slice of pizza but it was well worth the wait and idk if they always make it by the slice of the one I wanted happened to gone but my slice was hot and fresh from the oven I couldn’t even wait to get home. I ate it as I walked home and it was great! I would definitely recommend and come back. The pizza slice was a reasonable size for the price I paid maybe around $10 for it, so for myself alone it’s worth it. Or maybe for 2 if you’re more super hungry and you want a snack. They also had some outdoor seating, there’s no inside as it’s like an order and wait outside by the window kinda set up. But give it a try it’s worth it. I gave it 4/5 only because it was great food but a little too oily for me and the pizza is a thin make so it’s beneficial folding it in half but held up fine, but I’m also a hard critic on 5/5 pizza, this one was close though and idk if It’s because I got it fresh out of the oven. I’ll have to drop by again and if it’s the same experience I’d change it to a 5/5.

While everyone is waiting in line at other pizzas around the corner, this one right here smacks! Quick line, quick turnaround, they have a parklet with a few tables and seats if you grab a whole pie. Delicious!

Yelp
SO SO GOOD! I picked up a slice of the margherita and the pepperoni and both were amazing!! Sauce tastes so fresh and nothing was too oily. The crust was perfect and kept its shape. I cannot wait to come back for more! If you can't get a table at the restaurant next door, swing by the slice house!!

Yelp
Haven't had a bad slice of pizza yet from any of Tony Gemignani's Restaurants. Got there when they open, and got a slice of Sicilian Combo which came with Pepperoni, Sausage, Mozzarella, Mushroom, Garlic, & Bell Pepper, perfectly sauced and the dough was so fresh and softly toasted feels like you're biting into a croissant, a little crunch on the outside and soft inside. From the time they took my order and they handed to me was less than 10 minutes. Any of Tony's Restaurants has to be the best pizza around!!!

Yelp
Eh. It's actually my second time here. I came here once a handful of years ago and thought it was OK. On a recent visit to San Francisco, I was looking for a slice in the area (not a whole pie) that I could easily grab. Yelp led me here. And I really wish it hadn't. But by the time I arrived, I already placed my order and it was supposed to be baking. Anyway, I arrived about five minutes early for my cheese pizza and was told to hang around nearby. I went for a walk around the block and came back seven minutes later. I was told it would be ready soon. 15 minutes after the time my pizza was supposed to be ready, I asked how it was doing. They said it was coming. Around 25 minutes later, I asked again, but didn't really get a response. Almost 40 minutes after it was supposed to be ready, I asked the cashier if I could have a refund since there was somewhere that I needed to be. She said it was coming and wasn't sure what happened. What happened? I think they forgot to put my order in and were trying to rush it. The pizza was fine. Honestly, I was expecting something more epic.. and especially after that wait, I was probably more disappointed than I might have been had it been ready on time. I hope I actually read this review to remind myself of this experience next time I'm in the area and can remember to find somewhere else. I'm sure there's lot of great pizza in North Beach. 2024: 85/100

Yelp
Popular pizza restaurant in SF's Little Italy. My friends and I went on a Saturday night and the place was PACKED. Street parking was nearly impossible -- we circled around for 30 minutes before we finally found a spot. We ordered at the to-go window so we didn't have to wait. I ordered a single slice of Sicilian pizza, which was about $7. It was quite good and the serving slice was pretty big! It was a bit messy to eat but definitely a satisfying slice of pizza. There are only 2 tables available for people ordering to-go. I was lucky enough to snag one. If you're visiting, I would recommend just getting it delivered to you to avoid traffic and parking. Either that or go outside peak hours.

Yelp
Unfortunately had a very poor experience -- quite a let down because the Slice House location in Mountain View is some of my favorite pizza. Detailed breakdown below: **Service, 2/5** I ordered a slice of a prosciutto and fig glaze and a pepperoni -- only after I got my receipt back did I notice that I was charged for a Meat Lover's slice instead, which was more expensive. Seeing the charge for the to go box too when 1) there's no dine in option, 2) we weren't offered alternatives, and 3) we weren't notified also feels like a cheap money grab. I'm surprised their napkins were free LOL. Their wait times are also pretty inconsistent -- people in my party waited about 25 minutes for their food while others received their slices after only 5-10. **Price & portion, 2.5/5** At over $7 a slice, this spot is overrated, even when they occasionally throw in a bonus mini slice. Especially because my slice was primarily a dry, congealed layer of cheese. **Taste, 1.5/5** I think I was served a piece that was sitting out for a while, possibly all afternoon and evening, because it wasn't pleasant to eat at all. Typically, prosciutto pizzas add the prosciutto at the very end instead of before cooking to retain the delicate flavor and texture. It seems like the prosciutto here was both cooked and then reheated, so it ended up being incredibly dry. The cheese was completely congealed into a dense, dry mass that made up the base of the slice. The only saving grace here was the fig glaze that added some refreshing sweetness. Even the crust was a let down -- it was stale, tough, and devoid of moisture (not chewy and crisp like their Mountain View location). Overall, this was one of the worst slices of pizza I've personally had and I will not be spending time or money here again.

Yelp
The $8 slice of sausage and pepper pizza was a highlight of my night out in North Beach lol. The crust is thin but has structural integrity to hold itself up. Sauce and cheese were flavorful and a nice backdrop to the toppings. My bf and I haven't stopped thinking about the pizza here and will definitely need to pay Tony's a visit to enjoy an entire pie.

Yelp
Quick grab and go pizza spot when you have the late night munchies or drunchies! We came around 11PM on a Friday night, and we waited maybe 20 minutes from lining up to receiving our food. By the time we got there, there wasn't a huge selection but they do make more pizza on the go. Let me say, the pizza slices are huge. And the dough is so delicious and chewy. We ordered the cheese and big kahuna, as well as a side of ranch! Pretty solid place to grab some pizza! We wanted to try their Italian beef, but unfortunately they were all sold out ): I really like that Washington Square is nearby and has tons of benches! Definitely a visit!

Yelp
Oh my gosh, this was the pizza I had been dreaming about. Slice House has been my favorite pizza chain in San Francisco for years, but this was my first time visiting the ORIGINAL location. I usually go to the location on Haight, or the one on 2nd Street that has been closed down for a few years now. I actually wanted to go to Tony's sit down restaurant next door, but didn't realize that reservations were required. So, I ordered a slice of Hot Tony from the Original Slice House counter, and waited. And waited. And waited. It was actually a very long wait. Finally, I received one of the best slices I've pizza I've ever experienced in my life. The Hot Tony isn't on any online menus that I could find, but based on my photo and my memory, it came loaded with marinara, mozzarella, pepperoni, salami, bell peppers, olives, green onions, and ricotta. I was hoping she'd give me a slice with at least one good dollop of ricotta. I got three, although one sadly dropped onto the street. Every single aspect of this pizza was incredible. The crust, the sauce, and every single one of the toppings was perfect. Rumor has it that Tony spends the most time cooking at this location, which may be why the sauce and crust tasted so much better and more nuanced than usual. Slice House is still my favorite chain, and I think this is my new favorite location.

Yelp
Great place to get whole pizza to go! We came on a Saturday at lunch time and didn't have to wait in line. We ordered a whole New Yorker and waited about 20 minutes for it to be done before eating at the park nearby. The whole pizza is huge and for a really good price. The pizzas are fresh and warm - really tasty with lots of toppings. The crust is thin and good balanced of crispness and softness. Parking around here is pretty difficult since the area is so busy, so I highly recommend taking public transportation if you can!

Yelp
"They've got the name, But not the game." Tony's Slice House is a natural choice when one is solo, hungry and craving a slice in North Beach. An entire pie would be too much, and the line at Tony's Pizza Napoletana next door would be too long. Unfortunately, the natural choice would not be the most delicious one. This "New York style" offering is a tough, heavy slice -- a little bit crude and frankly disappointing. It's tasty because it's pizza, but one expects better from a Tony. Service is efficient despite the interminable crowds. Although the slice itself might be underwhelming, munching on it in neighbouring Washington Square should redeem the experience. True score: 7.7 Return? NO

Yelp
Pizza maker Tony Gemignani's empire just keeps growing and growing and it all started right here on the corner of Union and Stockton Streets in the heart of San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood. With Tony's Pizza Napoletana and sister spot Capo's on nearby Vallejo Street Gemignani and his team spin and bake up not just traditional Neapolitan pies, but they have tried their hands at making a wide variety of pizzas including Sicilian, New York-style, Detroit-style, St. Louis-style, grandma-inspired, and coal-fired pies. There is not a day that goes by in which Tony's Pizza Napoletana is open for business and there is a line of people waiting for a table outside. Their popularity has led Gemignani and team to wisley opening an out-the-door fast casual option right next door, which has now become the de-facto with twelve additional locations in California alone, and at least according to their website, many more planned. But it is here along Stockton Street where this brilliant idea all began with their massive output of a wide variety of slices of coal fired pizza of many varieties and sandwiches which includes Chicago Italian Beef Sandwiches and Subs. What brought me and a group of four additional pizza lovers here on a warm Saturday afternoon was the fact that we were in the North Beach neighborhood doing other things and members of our group were famished and after amazingly finding a parking space nearby. There was a lot of scaffolding around the exterior of Tony's Coal-Fired Pizza And Slice House so it made finding their entrance on this visit a small challenge. Luckily when we arrived there was not much of a crowd and there was plenty of pizza in their display case to be viewed and ready to be heated up. Although they had a lot of good options available to order including Stromboli, Calzones, and a Sicilian Combo Detroit-style pizza by the slice. There was something about their Webb's Double, which was listed as a special menu item that was calling my name. A traditional New York pizza slice made with tomato sauce, mozzarella, Italian sausage, sliced link sausage, cup 'n char thin pepperoni, red onions, Romano, oregano and garlic oil, this was clearly Tony's version of the kitchen sink of pizza slices. Others in my party took advantage of their Slice N' Soda deal by taking advantage of their slice of cheese pizza and a fountain drink for only $5.75. With five slices of pizza and a couple of drinks, our meal came to be under that of 30 dollars which was really reasonable considering how much food we received and the part of town we were dining in because let's be frank this place is the epicenter of tourism so we always expect prices to be higher than usual. It didn't take too long for our slices to be reheated in their coal-fired oven, as their system makes you order at their counter inside their restaurant, and then you pick up your order at the counter which serves as their front window as well. Once our slices were reheated and ready for pick up, my first thought was how big everything was, I mean this was a seriously such a huge slice of pie that it easily could have been two meals. Unfortunately with all of the scaffolding going outside of their shop, we were unsure if we were allowed to sit down in their makeshift patio area along Stockton Street. So our group walked down Columbus Street, visited other shops and made our journey to the North Beach neighborhood all the more worthwhile. I can imagine myself just headed for a walk up and down Columbus Avenue with a folded pizza slice in hand with the wax paper getting all greasy taking in the sites and sounds of this eclectic neighborhood. Better believe that I am coming back for Calzone and Stromboli just to try it and say that I have had it all at Tony's Coal-Fired Pizza And Slice House because when they have as many slices as they do here, trying them all will take a long time!

Yelp
My dad and I heard about Tony's being the 2nd best pizza in the nation so we had to check this place out, but were too full to be sitting in the restaurant and ordering a ton of food, so we opted for the takeout. We shared a slice of cheese pizza and it was nauseatingly greasy, used tasteless cheese, and the crust on the first half of the slice was drooping despite our attempts to fold it. The sauce wasn't memorale either. Definitely not worth the price.

Yelp
In Search of Pizza Perfection at Tony's Coal-Fired Slice House With a reputation as lofty as housing one of the top 20 pizzas in the world, Tony's Coal-Fired Pizza had me salivating in anticipation. Unfortunately, the slice house experience left me yearning for more based on the legendary hype. Let's start with the good - the ingredients are undeniably fresh and high-quality. You can taste the difference that premium tomatoes, cheese, and cured meats make. The four cheese New York-style slice had a wonderful flavor profile with the blend of savory cheeses. However, the true star was supposed to be Tony's famous Sicilian pepperoni pizza. Sadly, my slice seemed to have missed the mark. The dough was distinctly dry, lacking that perfect chewy yet light interior. The pepperoni, though, was an absolute delight full of zesty spice and fennel notes. Not being able to sample the grandma-style pizza, which wasn't available by the slice, left me feeling like I had missed a crucial part of the experience. From the smells wafting over from the kitchen, I can only imagine it would have been magical. The sparse, takeout-only slice house setup feels more like an afterthought than a curated experience. You order at the counter, they quickly reheat slices, and you're somewhat rushed out with your food. Not quite the lingering pizza nirvana one dreams of. Despite being slightly let down, I haven't given up on Tony's entirely. The fresh, premium ingredients gave me hope that with a made-to-order pie fresh from the oven, the full restaurant could deliver an otherworldly pizza experience worthy of its global acclaim. For around $20, my two slices and a drink didn't quite reach the lofty heights I was hoping for. But I'll be back to the sit-down restaurant for a more complete understanding of what makes Tony's so special in the pizza universe. The slice house was merely an appetizer for greater things to come. 3.5/4 stars but generous 4

Yelp
While having a slice of Pepperoni, I thought I could faintly hear the famous "La donna è mobile" from Verdi's opera Rigoletto playing in the background La donna è mobile Qual piuma al vento Muta d'accento E di pensiero My first time at Tony's and it was an experience I'll never forget. A perfect crust - chewy with a nice crunch. Small peperoni's that had the right amount of kick to them. A nice complex combination of savory and salty, with a nice chew. The sauce, I can tell goes back generations of nonna's. Matt says: take the Muni 8 from Montgomery Street station. It's a short walk for a slice of heaven.

Brittany P.

Yelp
The Sicilian pepperoni and sausage slice was terrible. Not enough sauce, and the meat wasn't flavorful. The pizza is usually fantastic, but this was a waste of my time and money

Shirley W.

Yelp
Extremely flavorful pizza. The sauce and cheese was by far my favorite, had depth of flavor and a nice kick. The slices are HUGE. The only downside is that it is an oiler slice with the oil pooling into the center, so it lacked structural integrity when you picked it up.

John S.

Yelp
I lived in Castro Valley for over 40 years and I watched Tony grow his talents at Pzyano's when it opened in the early 90s. I have nothing but good will and blessings for Tony, and now that he has grown an empire, it's important to delegate responsibility but it should not be at the cost of quality in the establishments that got him to where he is now. For years I raved about the Stromboli here. I considered it the best bite in the city. What is served now pales in comparison to a few years ago. Compare the photo of my Stromboli to the photos posted on this site a decade ago (please excuse my blurry old man photo). Those Stromboli were $8.00, came lathered in olive oil with a delectable assortment of several herbs on the top and so much meat you had to abstain from eating it all just to sleep without guilt. Now they are $9.50, contain more cheese than anything and by a generous estimate, about 25% of the pepperoni they used to contain, no olive oil (the bread is so dry it makes me cough), and no herbs at all anymore (just sesame seeds...very depressing). Today was a funeral. The last time I will order Tony's stromboli unless I see herbs on them again. Tony please bring back your creations. You can afford herbs. Don't kill your art. I know COVID hit everyone in the wallet but I don't see the drastic cutbacks remaining for so long at other places. We understand why prices go up but we never want that to coincide with a decline in quality. I'll pay more for stromboli so long as I get the same sandwich I've bought for a decade. You put Bay Area pizza on the map and we want it to stay there. Congrats on 6th place with 50 Top Pizza. Hard-earned and well-deserved.

Yelp
Came here after a Giants game birthday celebration with a group of friends, we decided to stop by Tony's Coal Fired Pizza & Slice House instead of waiting in the line for the original Tony's. Boy did it hit the spot! It was a nice Lyft bike away from the Giants' stadium, and the place was packed. We ordered a whole Don Giovanni, which came with Vodka Tomato Cream Sauce, Garlic, Aiello Mozzarella, White Onion, Romano, Oregano, Garlic Oil, Sea Salt, and Pepper. The pizza was absolutely fantastic. The crust was perfectly crispy with just the right amount of chew, and the combination of toppings was spot on. The vodka tomato cream sauce added a rich, creamy flavor that complemented the mozzarella and Romano cheeses beautifully. The garlic and white onion provided a nice aromatic kick, while the oregano, sea salt, and pepper tied all the flavors together perfectly. We ran into a group who ordered a whole New Yorker and ended up sharing pizzas together! Per usual, perfect crispy, chewy crust, delicious pepperoni & sausage, creamy ricotta cheese, and lots of flavorful seasonings. I highly recommend Tony's Slice House to anyone looking for a spot to grab a quick, easy, delicious slice or whole pie! Simply the best takeout pizza around

Yelp
Great food! service was ok they got my order wrong the first time but it happens. Employees were nice. good vibe.

Yelp
This review is for the Slice House portion only, not the restaurant (Tony's Pizza Napoletana). Overall, very good pizza and very quick and easy for a slice on the go. I went two times, since it was on the way to my destinations each time. Both times I've gotten the pepperoni slice. When done well, it's very solid, crispy bottom with a nice chewy texture inside. Lots of pepperoni that have a nice cup/crisp as well. Solid sauce to cheese ratio. However, I had to knock a point off, since the second time I went, the slice I had was not as consistent. The top third (from the tip) was missing cheese and pepperoni, leaving just sauce and dough. The pizza also wasn't cooked as much, the cheese still a little on the whiter side, pepperonis not as cupped, and the dough was less crispy. Still a good slice, but definitely not as good as that first slice. I'm guessing the pie was "fresh" out the oven the first time and was rushed a bit (less cooked, not cut fully that resulted in missing toppings). If you're in the mood for some pizza, but don't want to wait for the main restaurant (or just want a quick slice), this place is still very solid.

Yelp
This review is for the slice house. Taking a mini pizza tour with some friends/colleagues wouldn't be complete without stopping by the slice house. I've tried a handful of their slices but honestly, it's the classic cheese slice that's absolute perfection. The 4-cheese is good but the classic cheese slice is my preference. Can't go wrong with either though. I don't usually like reheated slices, but they get it right here. We will spend over $7 for a slice but it's worth every dime. From the flavor, to the crisp, and sheer size of this massive slice, it's one that I can't pass up. It's only big enough to share for two normal sized appetites. The cheese slice and soda combo deal is a good way to save some money. Depending on when you go, the line can be out the door but they move quick. Once you order, your slice is ready in 5-10 minutes. Take it to the park, sit on a bench and enjoy the slice is our typical go to. We even picked up the Tony's dog toy, which come in a toy box and has a toy grandma slice. My pup loves it! $23 well spent for my pup to be happy. Overall, from a pizza perspective, it's the my favorite grab n go slice in North Beach.

Sharon G.

Yelp
WOW! We stopped by for a few slices and really enjoyed the ones we got. We ordered a slice of pepperoni, Sicilian pepperoni, and combo as well as a calzone. The sicilian pepperoni was definitely the star of the show. The square pizza slices had a perfect crust, not too thick but delicious and crunchy. The don't skimp out on topping at all. The pepperoni slice was a typical triangle slice and we found it to be a little too salty. The calzone was nothing special, I think it wasn't heated up enough. The restaurant heats up your slices so be prepared to wait a few minutes. The also sell whole pizzas which we will definitely be back to get a whole sicilian pizza.

Mike L.

Yelp
For as awesome as Tony's Pizza Napoletana and their pizzas undeniably are, trying to get a table is a decidedly less than awesome experience. Not that it should be unexpected - it comes with the territory when a restaurant is so popular and heavily praised. What's more, it's not actually difficult to get a table - you just have to be willing to wait. However, I used to wonder how much faster it really was to order your pizzas to-go. You'd definitely avoid the wait for a table, but your food would still have to come out from the same kitchen. Except, little did I know, there's been a Slice House (with its own kitchen) right next door this entire time! Which now begs the question - how in the world did I not know this before?? In a way, coming here is like ordering directly from the back of Tony's. The space is pretty tight, with just enough room for a couple of people to order at the register and a couple more time wait in line. As such, you'll typically see a crowd standing around outside, but don't be deterred - most folks seemed to get just a slice, so orders come out pretty steadily. In total, I think it took about 45 mins for my order to come out, which isn't that much longer than some of the neighborhood joints I go to -- NEW YORKER - Pepperoni, House-Made Calabrese, Fennel Link Sausage, Ricotta, Garlic, Oregano, Pecorino Romano, Mozzarella, Tomato Sauce...$36 (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/tonys-coal-fired-pizza-and-slice-house-san-francisco-4?select=0AKEJ_ZAhMHUadEXXDN2uA) All in all, pretty decent! The trio of meats were great and I liked the bit of ricotta that was sprinkled throughout. but I wish this had some vegetables, even if it was just onions or bell peppers. As for the crust, it wasn't bad, but it was a got a little soggy towards the center. -- CLAM & GARLIC PIZZA...$37 (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/tonys-coal-fired-pizza-and-slice-house-san-francisco-4?select=pzjRWNaw-Q5apUTxrrfFYQ) Visually appealing, but rather underwhelming in taste. While the pizza had a nice, garlicky flavor, there didn't seem to be a lot of clam meat (Amici's has more, for example). Also, in an unexpected twist, the crust on this one was oddly tough and bland. Much like their stature, one thing about Slice House that's notably different from Tony's is that the menu here is comparatively modest with just a half dozen pies and a handful of sub sandwiches. However, as it turns out, you can also order off of the menu from Tony's, which is handy if you're not all that enthused by the limited offerings here or if there's something from Tony's that you just really want to try. It also would have been helpful to know beforehand, as it very well would've changed my order (and possibly my experience). Alas, I guess it'll just have to be something for me to keep in mind the next time I come here...or just to order straight from Tony's directly. THREE AND A HALF STARS rounded down for now (feels like ordering to-go versus eating immediately was part of the problem, so this very well could change the next time I'm here).

Yelp
Tried to go to Tony's Pizza Napoletana but it was very busy so we got a slice next door. Didn't have a regular cheese slice so we tried the speciality pizza. I was worried based on how it looked but it was delicious. Service was a little slow but they had to heat it up and many customers were waiting. Small space but they had some outdoor seating, but it was already full with people. Best to grab and go as you explore the area.

Yelp
Quick friendly service, with a small outdoor seating area, and really good slice pizza. It's coal fired, so it's very personal whether you like your pizza cooked hotter and faster with a slightly crispier crust. I do prefer this because the crust is crispy enough on the outside to hold its shape while you eat, but still a pleasant soft chewy texture on the inside. The veggies were bright, and fresh, and a touch of feta cheese on top really made it more special. I will definitely return here and try some of the other flavors.

Yelp
My wife and I wanted to get into Tony's Restaurant but the line was easily 50 deep on a Saturday around 7:45 PM. I saw that there was an expedited option with the Slice House. This review can only attest to the Slice House. I got excited at the option of the Chicago Style Italian Beef and was told they had sold out the day before. I pivoted and ordered a meatball sub. My wife decided to order a slice of pizza. Order pickup appears haphazard but it isn't too bad. Approximately a 10 minute ticket time. Sandwich was good, bread was really good. I'd love to know the quality within the restaurant.

Yelp
This restaurant is connected to the famous Tony's restaurant and is a great quick yet affordable alternative. Service was straightforward and professional. This is a to go restaurant with a few available seats outside so heads up. We ordered a veggie, cheese and pepperoni slice. Overall the pizza was good, could have used more sauce but the bottom was nicely done. I live a few blocks away and will be back to try other options.

Yelp
When I saw the price, I was a bit hesitant, as the pizza was more expensive than anything I had seen before. However, once I tried it, I realized that the pizza was made with high-quality ingredients, tasted amazing, and was absolutely worth it. I am very satisfied!

Yelp
I got the Grand Slam after having a positive first time experience at another location with a different flavor. My biggest complaint is the 7.25 price tag for what I got was basically a slightly spicier pepperoni pizza. There was no honey flavor at all, and my partner agreed. We got the slice because of the hot honey, but maybe it was a bad slice idk. I would not get this flavor again. The pizza was a large slice and the crust was yummy but overall kinda disappointed.

Yelp
The pizza here is okay. For me it wasn't the best. There's a lot of different styles and recipes so if you like variety it might be good for you. I wasn't a fan of the dough and a lot of the recipes didn't deliver for me but some friends and family enjoyed it more than I did.

Yelp
This place used to be top notch but it's been so bad recently I'm taking a break. The ingredients are still great but the cooking and service is so inconsistent it has ruined the experience. Giving it 2 stars just because I'm hoping they can figure out the staffing and make a comeback. Will be returning to give it another shot in the summer

Yelp
Slice House is the quick version of Tony's and its a great experience - affordable, quick and tasty. Slice and drink combo is very affordable - a great value especially given your getting the best pizza in the city. Add on toppings and price does go up. Its not 100% as fresh as next door but I still enjoyed it. If its your fist time to Tony's I'd recommend the formal sit down route. Slice House is essentially Tony's to go - a quick version of a restaurant probably everybody knows and loves. Walk in pay and then walk out to hear your number. Sometimes you don't want to spend the time for the whole formal restaurant experience. There are some very good pizza spots but I prefer this as its not as greasy or heavy. The crust was a thin crust and I can tell the cheese quality was great. This isn't drunk pizza like Golden Boy its more refined and upscale. Overall a very pleasant experience. Small details like an extra sheet of wax paper in the pizza box and being asked if I'd like my soda with ice on a cold evening make the place stand out. One of my favorite San Francisco neighborhoods. Have some dessert at Victorias (open later than most bakeries) and make an evening of it.

Yelp
No time for dine-in ambiance? Head inside this tiny place, order, pay, wait outside at the take-out window, receive your pizza. Boom. You can also order online. Jumbo slices, thin, crispy crust. Maximum yum. There's 3 tables on sidewalk it you can't wait to dig in, or take it to the park across the street. Next door on the corner is Tony's pizza restaurant, seating indoors or out. No complaints

Yelp
Vegan Review! When I say this is the BEST vegan pepperoni pizza I've had in my Life! I've had plenty pepperoni rendition over the years. The cashier was helpful, patient, informative [even added some complimentary mushrooms to support my pitiful vegan butt]. From the airy, perfectly blistered pie crust, great choice of vegan cheese (melty not rubbery), the *pepperoni* was astounding! I was initially hesitant just because I've had so many fake/hyper-processed ones. Elated I took the chance cuz... well, after 1st semi-freaking out that it may have been regular pepperoni (smell & taste was so on-point). Like a good vegan I'd studied & took a mental snapshot of what their meat pepperoni looked like & rested assured). My only gripe was that there was a bit of a wait & price otherwise it'd be 5-stars (nearly $40 for a non-large. vegan toppings do add up!) but I see myself returning & will place this pie in my vegan delicacy rolodex.

Yelp
Definitely worth it if you don't have time for the sit down next door. The Margherita is a classic and pretty solid. The veggie is great. Service is not bad. Wish they had more seating or chairs around. Best pizza I've tasted in the city so far.

Yelp
We compared to Folsom's new Slice House and were not disappointed!! The thin crust was crispy while being fluffy in the middle of the crusty edges. The sauce was wonderful. The service was great. Angel made sure the order was out quick and helped us pick out from the selections of pizzas. Thanks!

Yelp
Very skeptical about pizza in San Francisco, as I feel like there's so many overrated places and are no better than Papa John's or Little Caesars. But I was honestly impressed with this pizza joint. I ordered a pepperoni slice and was amazed at how good it was. I honestly can't think of a negative thing to say about it, as the slice was big, the crust was great, the sauce was good, pepperoni was plenty and cooked right, the cheese had great pull and overall the pizza was chewy and crispy at the same time. I'll definitely be back for more pizza. I also got a stromboli. I have a big appetite, but this is something you either have to share or have for 2 meals. It's massive for $9.50 and loaded with pepperoni and cheese. It was good, but I could only enjoy half of it, due to the fact that they only give you one thing of marinara sauce. Considering it's so big and loaded with crust, pepperoni and cheese, it's basically not something you want to eat without marinara sauce. The only negatives is that they charge you for a pizza box (why not just bake it into the price of the pizza) and that they give you so little marinara sauce for such a massive stromboli. Edit: I liked the pizza so much, I bought 4 slices for myself and friends. What I noticed is that out of the 4 slices, they were all different sized slices. I figured since all slices were pepperoni they would all be the same size. Literally all slices were different sizes. That's very odd. Can someone explain to me how that's possible?

Yelp
Three slices of what I think was the Franco (Sausage, Pepp, Salami, Mush., Garlic), was $24, so $7 something a slice + tax. A bit expensive, but I've been dying to try Tony's for a long time. I asked them to cut one of the pieces in half, which they did. My 21 y/o son, who has a healthy appetite and myself each had a slice and a half, it was really, really good and we were both completely stuffed, the slices are huge. So the way I look at it $12 each, to get marvelous pizza and good quantity - 5 stars.

Yelp
$8 plus tips for a slice of pizza?! I know we're in Sf but sheesh. I ordered the combo slice as a snack and as a standard slice of pizza, it should not cost close to $7. The combo slice itself was pretty tasty. The usual suspects of pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms and this one had red and yellow bell peppers. The pizza was perfectly reheated, you could tell by the crunch on the bottom of the pizza. A quick to go spot with a couple of tables and chairs outside. I won't get started with comparing Sf pizza to Ny Pizza because it's incomparable.

Yelp
Best pizza in the area! Love the thin crust that is still chewy! The toppings were great!

Yelp
Yes, yes, yes! It was a foggy night in San Francisco with my friends and me. We were going to grab a pizza and go up Russian Hill to admire the beautiful view, which for the first time in all my visits to San Francisco that day disappeared as if it never existed. It was frustrating when we got to the top of the hill and instead of the glittering city, all we saw was darkness. We sat down on a bench, pulled out our pizza and took our first bite. Some might say that food is only about survival, but I would disagree. Food is also about aesthetics, happiness, and an integral part of any culture that brings people together. Our vegan pizza lifted our spirits and brought some joy to the moment. How can a crispy crust of perfect thickness, proportional amounts of cheese and ingredients be upsetting?

Yelp
Walk up pizza spot in the heart of San Francisco! Friendly staff along with yummy pizza. Walked in on a busy Friday night. I just wanted a slice but it looked like most people were waiting for full pies. Was in and out eating my slice in 5 minutes. One of the best pizzas I've ever eaten!

Yelp
Had to stop to grab a slice of pizza while walking around North Beach on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered a slice of the pepperoni and bacon pizza and waited about 10 min for it to be freshly heated up in the oven. We loved that they have boxes for individual slices which helps with eating on the sidewalk and there are a few small tables to eat outside if you're stopping for a quick snack. The slice was exactly how I like my pizza - thin crust with a bottom that's perfectly crispy and chewy - great even on its own. The pepperoni cups provide a nice saltiness to the cheese and are nicely crisped as well from the oven. Definitely worth grabbing a slice and they're big enough to share among 2-3 people!

Yelp
Got two Italian beef combos and didn't love. Wasn't juicy like I asked for didn't have very much beef for $20 and I love spicy but was too spicy to enjoy and could use better bread. Next time I'll try pizza maybe

Yelp
An updated review for their rotten customer service rep who runs their account here. Nothing more belittling and patronizing than having language like "sorry if you felt..." used against you and being gaslighted over whether or not you were ignored to the point that THEY GOT MY ORDER WRONG. I must have been hallucinating the entire time that I stood there, and he was taking my correct order all along! His complete disregard for my patronage didn't result in him screwing up a basic 2-slice order, I must've eaten the right slices after all! Once again, reading comprehension! I didn't complain about the price of your pepper oil. I complained that it was no longer available in-house AT ALL unless I bought an entire bottle, of which I l already had two at home. At the time, that's what they told me. I was more than willing to pay the $0.50 upcharge for the condiment. Pepperoncini oil is a free staple in every Italian pizzeria. I have 0 interest in exchanging words with someone playing Trumpian loyalty games. If you can't even be a person and say, "Sorry you were treaď%hted that way" then don't waste the English language on that defensive nonsense you leveled at me. Slicehouse has permanently lost me as a customer along with several of my friends. If you don't consider xo

Yelp
Tony's is a great place to grab quick slice, even late. Thin crust with a delicious doughy crust. Solid slices overall, but nothing has wowed me (margarita and four cheese). A few small tables on the sidewalk to dine, but most folks take their slices to go. I'm sure I'll be back when in North Beach.

Yelp
Sometimes good, sometimes badm.sometimes tastes like yesterday's left over pizza burnt to a crisp. For a place whose moto is "respect the craft" it's surprising bad pizza.

Jason F.

Yelp
Came here NYE for a quick bite, and enjoyed the pepperoni pizza I got! Huge NY style pizza slices that deliver with a great crust, melted cheese, and oil from the crisp pepperonis! Not the biggest NY style pizza fan, but this place may have changed it for me! Will be back!

Yelp
The line was too long for the main restaurant next door, so went to their takeout spot to order a couple slices. Maybe I was extra hungry, but this was some of the best pizza I have ever had. Dabbed off some of the extra grease but loved the delicious mozzarella and flavors and texture of the chewy crust. Memorable and soo good! Nice neighborhood vibe in this area. Marked as a favorite!
