We came here the night before running the NYC Marathon. It was the perfect place to fuel up on carbs! It was a nice, big, family friendly restaurant with plenty of space for our large group. We had one of the specials and it was seriously so delicious. I loved the Caesar salad! My only critique is the service was a little slow. I had a Diet Coke and was never offered a refill, despite being charged $7. Anytime we wanted something we had to track someone down. That being said the staff was friendly.

This place is amazing! The food was so good, everything we had was excellent. The fried zucchini, mozzarella squares, meatballs. The rigatoni bolognese, chicken parm and Caesar salad. The fettuccine Alfredo was out of this world good! The sauce was creamy and delicious. The red sauce was also sweet and so good

Wonderful Family Style Italian Upper East Side. Veal Saltimbocca & Chicken Parmigiana were delicious, as well as the Eggplant rigatoni. Try the grilled octopus for a starter, you won't be disappointed!

A MUST! We arrived without a reservation, had a big lunch, and everything was perfect. Great cocktails, delicious starters, HUGE portion of pasta, and the BEST branzino I've ever had. Considering the location, quality of food, and portion sizes, the prices are VERY reasonable!

Wow, talk about quality and one gets what one pays for. I participated in an event sponsored by the host and Upper East Side Mommies and Tony pulled out all the stops. Just look at this spread! Don't let the size of the spread distract from the quality, as one expect compromise when it comes to bulk. A fun atmosphere, attentive wait staff and an open bartender is all Tony needs to make this place a success. Who's Tony? Just ask.

We stumbled opon this place randomly while out for a walk, I’m so happy we found it! We had some amazing ravioli from here + the service was quick and amazing, the restaurant was also very well air conditioned which was definitely needed on a hot day. We will definitely be back!

Tony Di Napoli’s is one of my favorite Go2 Italian restaurants because the food is delicious in New York City, the service is very friendly and very nice! Thank you all for an amazing place to be.

Have been there many times over the many years. Was there on Tuesday, Sept.17th and I mention that because my servers name was STEVEN. The restaurant at the time, 5:30-8:30pm was sparse and he was great! Very personable, funny, helpful and I told him I'd have that review in two days or so...well, it's taken time. The dishes are always great. We were also there in May with a party of 8 in the dining room street level and "everything" as it was in September was phenomenal. The complimentary bread basket was phenomenal, very fresh. My friends here raved about the zucchini fritti appetizer. How delicious that was, had never seen it so razor thin sliced and couldn't stop eating. The veal and chicken entrees always great as is their sauce. The half portions were a lot. I haven't left a lot of reviews over the years. But it would be what in saying now. It has always been about ambiance, service, the entrees and their sauce (or gravy to others) Always a pleasant experience, never feeling rushed. Ample time between dishes. Always a relaxed atmosphere. My brother who lives in Hackensack, NJ only talks about this place for years!!! And my dear friend took an Uber from Edgewater, NJ because she knows how great this place is and to see us in our visit. Our entrees were my Veal Saltimbocca, soo good, Chicken Parmigiana, Shrimp Francese and Eggplant Parmigiana and a side of Broccoli Rabe. The cappuccinos and espressos also very good afterwards. We were all pleased, there for three hours. (5:30-8:30) we felt very comfortable. Don't miss this. Enjoy your time when here. I included a picture of us for our server. Good food, good service! We had the meatballs, chicken parm, and bolognese rigatoni. Good sauce! Good meal, very fast & responsive service.

The complimentary bread was stale, but the food was out of my expectations. Everything was well seasoned and has the nice tomato sour flavor underneath. We ordered a sangria pitcher to pair with the food. We were there Friday night, not too crowded but I would recommend making reservations ahead of time I like our server, he was quick and always make sure that our table was cleaned before the next dishes coming. We ordered tiramisu for dessert, and I think they used too much rum to my liking. I would not order tiramisu again if I dine here in the future The restaurant feels cozy and perfect for friends/family catching up. Too loud for romantic date night imo

I love Tony's DiNapoli, we come here for our annual Friendsgiving or Friendsmas. We love the location, always a great experience, service and food were fantastic and the staff were super friendly. Generous portions for large groups, everything was authentic.

Absolutely amazing! We had a surprise birthday party there in a semi-private room on 12/27/24. The food was spectacular. The service was outstanding. The excellent price blew me away. They made everything from booking to clean-up seamlessly easy. Even though desserts were included we brought a cake. Without us even asking, they decorated a table just for our cake. Then they lit the candles, sang Happy Birthday with us, cut, and served it for us. I can't recommend this Tony's Di Napoli location enough. They made this surprise birthday party extra special.

2.5/5 For a Father's Day I decided to order takeout from here since my dad loves Italian food. The good: the packaging of the takeout was Saran wrapped to avoid spills, which was much appreciated. The food was ready on time, the included plates and utensils and provided a reusable bag. The bad: the food. So I ordered chicken Marsala, chicken parm, and linguine and clam sauce. They provided bread which was quite hard/stale. The chicken Marsala was the biggest disappointment. It was bland, flavorless, had no seasoning, and was over cooked. The chicken parm was also very bland and could have used herbs in the sauce and breading, basil, and been softer. The linguine was watery, the pasta was over cooked, and needed seasoning. It was unanimous that this was a disappointing dinner and frankly I was embarrassed since it was Father's Day. Would I return? No, I feel like I can make a better one of any of those dishes and I'm not Italian. If I have no desire to keep the leftovers, then that's saying something.

Probably one of the greatest family spots on the upper east side. I took my niece here she loved it. I love their cheesecake it's soft like lotion. The chicken parm is amazing. Very cozy inside. Been going here for 10 years. Hashtag GEM. The staff are great they sure know how to hire here.

It's your basic homemade red sauce with unmistakable flavors and served to you with warm hospitality. I've never had a bad meal here. Meatballs -are some of the best I've had. I make my own and grew up with a lot of Italian influence... and these are good. Veal and Chicken Parm are always my go to here. The sauce makes the dish. And it so tender. Baked clams are exceptional. No one in the city comes close. Portions are big, they're meant to be shared. Prices are so reasonable. Bring good friends, family, or both. In the wide world of area Italian food, Tony Di Napoli may receive a scoff from self proclaimed culinary foodies. While it is not hip nor trendy, it serves traditional Italian favorites with consistency and good flavor, whether it is their appetizers, salads or entrees. The penne ala vodka, linguine and white clam, and parm. dishes - both chicken and shrimp feature a red sauce on the sweet side but it is still pleasant. The parm dishes weren't the only cheesy item that night as a photographer comes around for table pictures for a fee. It reminds me of the adage from fairs and carnival games- "you're a sucker if you play and a sucker if you don't play". The process provided several hearty laughs so it was certainly worth the $20 per picture. Service and decor (images of cars) are no nonsense & straight forward at this establishment. The result- It all adds up to a quality evening of pretty good food and fun. Sometimes just "good" is plenty good enough.

Food: Ok, so clearly the food quite good I forgot to take more pictures. I've been here a few times and will always be so shocked by the potions. Love them bc I always have left overs - which are delicious. Get the Rigatoni a la Vodka- it's amazing! Truly. You don't even need to add anything to it. I once added chicken and then regretted it bc the dish was perfect as it was. Am not giving 5 stars (yet) because I need to try more dishes before deciding! Service: Great, no complaints. People are kind and attentive. Ambiance: Clean, friendly, and great for catching up with an old friend or going on a date!

Family reserved a table here for my 50th bday. Perfect table right in the corner where the view of everything was great! Walter our server was amazing and very attentive. This place served family style servings but in my opinion they weren't BIG enough. Could be bigger. Food was mediocre. I've had better Italian food elsewhere. The marinara sauce was aight. The chicken Parmesan was bland. The grilled octopus was tasty. The calamari was fresh. Shrimp Parmesan was delicious. Sautéed shrimp was amazeballs. Fettuccine Alfredo was really flavorful and delicious. Baked clams 10/10 The chocolate cake was rich and yummy. Overall not too bad of a time was had.

Let's paint the scene, friends visiting another friend from out of town. It's one of their birthdays. They decide this is the place for dinner. The decorations are very to par with the holiday theme and might I add gorgeous. A last minute plan so no reservations on a Friday night. The wait 20-30 mins, not too shabby. We wait at the bar. Drinks fairly good like your normal drinks at a bar. Table is ready. We close our bar tab because it can't be transferred. No biggie. We get to our table and have notified the wait staff that it's someone's birthday. They go "we are on it" We order and enjoy our food. The portions are large and half orders are pretty decent for a single serving if you are hungry. Full size is definitely a shareable size. It's time for dessert and our waitress goes "let's choose something" the birthday boys order is then taken for dessert. We wait and we sing happy birthday. The bill comes... normally where I am from birthday desserts are on the house or discounted. Not here. Very confused but not saying a word decided to pay and leave. Basically great place but if celebrating don't expect complimentary dessert at all. Food 10/10 Atmosphere 10/10

Came here with a friend on a Sunday evening during the end of January and was seated pretty quickly. Everyone was friendly, the place looked clean and the food came out pretty quick enough. For appetizers we ordered a Caesar salad and calamari fritti. For the main course we ordered spaghetti & meatballs and chicken francese with broccoli. In conclusion, the food was ok. I do love that they give out generous portions, it is budget friendly and everyone was nice but I wasn't wowed by the food.

We celebrated my boyfriend's birthday with a group of 15. My friend was able to reserve a table for us around a month in advance, and we planned our meal via the family/party planner menu. With tip and tax included, it was around $73 per person. We were able to get additional servings of each entree/appetizer when it was finished- I believe it's unlimited servings. We were seated in the big party room along with other larger parties. We started off with Caesar salad and then our appetizers came in, then the entrees. The entrees were large portions, the crowd favorite was the clam linguine. I think we got like 3 servings of those because everyone kept eating them, haha! The food was very delicious. Our waiter sang happy birthday to my boyfriend, it was a phenomenal performance, his voice belongs in an opera! He presented the assorted desserts with a candle. We were able to share the desserts amongst our party. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive, and at the end of our meal, there is a photographer that takes a photo of your party. I believe it's $25 for the photo. Service overall was great and super friendly!

Order the vodka chicken parm....it is out of this world! Great ambience and service. Perfect restaurant for a date night or family dinner.

My first time visiting and the FOOD was OUT OF THIS WORLD! They need to bottle that red sauce. It's so freaking Amazing. And those meatballs were soooo Delicious and well seasoned. I recommend making a reservation. Everything was authentic. The portions are so generous. And the staff "AMAZING". Just Go! Take your Family! This place is more than a GEM. I''LL BE BACK!

I've been here several times and the food is very good. The pasta with vodka sauce is very good, I'm not a fan of chicken parm but those in my party love it. The pasta with garlic sauce and broccoli is one of my favorites as well. Service is absolutely up to par and matches the nice upscale ambiance of the place. Make sure you top off your meal with a cappuccino and I promise you will LOVE their homemade whipped cream.

Tony's on Christmas Eve is the best. Different size families sharing a great meal. The place is buzzing and it's a festive atmosphere. The service holds up despite the crowds.

Tony's is a staple for those looking for plates brimming with food, friendly service, and a loud, bustling atmosphere. It's the kind of place where the waiter sings happy birthday with a rich baritone voice that interrupts your conversation. The salads were ample yet so overdressed I didn't taste the kale, just the honey mustard. I had a hankering for bolognese so ordered the ravioli bolognese, yet neither the sauce nor pasta had any discernible taste and both were covered with too much cheese under an ocean of sauce. My $15 glass of Malbec was generic as well. Lots of people smiling and enjoying their meal, yet I'll say I've eaten at a place I've wanted to try as I pass it all the time, and end with that.

My first time and won't be my last! Had a reservation with an old friend. We ordered: -grilled octopus -half clam sauce linguine -mussels -salmon -tiramisu The service was great and gave us recommendations. They didn't rush us which i love cause usually some nY restaurants rush you. Highly recommend

Wonderful experience at Tony's. Came with a pretty of 12 for my daughter's graduation. Kind of a high end upscale version of Carmine's in Times Square. I choose this over that. The service was friendly and prompt. The food was pretty good, especially the rigatoni. And the dessert was great. Forgot to take pics of all the foods cuz I was so hungry.

The absolute best customer service. First they let me sit at the table while I waited for my cousin. I told him to get off at the wrong station so that was my fault. But he bumped into Spike Lee so I guess we'll call it even. My cousin's phone was dead and the hostess let him charge his phone in the office, no problem. The service was the right amount of attentive. Water was refilled, plates removed with no interruptions. It's been 5 years since I've been here and the food is still great. I got the Ravioli Bolognese and my cousin got the Linguini Marinara with extra cheese. He's lactose intolerant but he said you only live once and life is too short to go without cheese. It's the kind of wisdom that you might regret later in the night but do it anyway. Sweet suffering. We split the perfectly fried Calamari Fritti. If not for how large my ravioli was, I would have ordered the excellent Zucchini Fritti. Unlike Carmine's you can order a half plate. Perfect when it's a party of two and you want to mix it up or a larger party and want to get a little taste of everything. There's closer Italian to me on the UWS, but none quite as good as this. Well worth the massive 20 block detour on the crosstown bus (thank you DOT). My epic jealousy of the UES continues.

This authentic italian restaurant serves up one of the best (and biggest) chicken parm plates in the city! The chicken parm is huge, filling up the entire plate, and has a perfectly excessive amount of cheese layered directly on top. Unless you have a huge appetite, it's unlikely that you'll finish the entire dish in one-go. The service has a very italian feel to it and the ambiance is reminiscent of 1990s NYC. What a classy UES establishment!

Servers were great and attentive and did not rush us out although it was a busy Sunday afternoon. My friend and I shared the octopus, penne vodka and chicken Parma. Our favorite was the octopus- the sauce was delicious and every bite was super tender that makes you want to keep going for more. Nothing special on the penne vodka and chicken parm - both also felt a little too heavy and we felt like we had to stuff ourselves towards the end. Nevertheless, it was a classy restaurant and a good spot for date night or a catch up with friends.

If you're looking for a great dessert the brownie sundae is The portions are amazing for splitting or if you're very hungry! It's been close to 33 years since I last dined at Tony's Di Napoli, at the UES location that was 20 blocks north & "was reclaimed by the city under eminent domain to create the 2nd Ave. subway line. The current spot opened in 2011". When an old friend asked to meet here on 3rd Ave and 64th Street, I had both a wave of nostoglia & hesitance come over me. Once we were seated & our French Martini's made perfectly & served in the appropriate sized Martini glass arrived, I knew that I was in for a good time. Service was exceptional, we wound up having Martini's, a fabulous chopped salad on the special's menu & a perfect Tartufo on a cleaverly decorated plate. Everything was delicious, we sat for close to 2.5 hours, graciously undisturbed as the entire restaurant filled in around us. They have an interesting little upper room which is at street level before you head down wide steps to the cavernous dining room with very low ceilings. Don't visit for the decor, but they can expand tables to accommodate the huge parties that are served nightly. I may even try the Times Square location I spent a few minutes researching Ton's Di Napoli, a place that I thought of as a "tourist trap"..but as New Yorkers, isn't our entire day spent in either the rat race or a tourist trap ? lol What I found was incredibly interesting, I had no idea about any of it because back in 1990 there was no social media or Yelp..if you didnt catch the review of a new restaurant in the Times or NY Magazine, you heard nothing: "a place named for a non-existent guy named Tony from Napoli, which is actually overseen by a guy named Stuart from Long Island" whos "adherence to simple but hearty cooking is a trademark of the people that started Tony's: the Wetansons. (They founded the now-dissolved 1950s burger chain, Wetson's, which later merged with iconic hot dog vendor, Nathan's Famous.) Four generations of Wetansons have run this network of casual dining establishments that also includes Dallas BBQ". A Jewish guy not at all Italian. (I grew up and now live about a mile from the old Wetson's on Old Country Road in Hicksville, which later became Titus Oaks) IYKYK. My wife and I were invited here for a family reunion. We were the first ones there, so the lovely hostess invited us to have a seat at the bar while the remaining guests arrived. This place has a very "old-world" feel to it. Dimly-lit, cozy decor, lots of levels and rooms tucked away in corners. The kind of OG Italian restaurant my parents used to take me to as a kid that seems less and less common these days. I've never seen an Italian restaurant serve family-style (my wife's family is Chinese), but this place did it. Service was a little slow in the beginning, but eventually picked up. Impressively, I can't say I had a bad dish (the ravioli was a LITTLE too rich, while the linguini with clams had nearly the opposite problem). For some reason, the place let us pack up all the food to take home EXCEPT the fried zucchini, which was puzzling. I should also mention that this place offer gluten-free substitutions (that don't taste terrible!) It's a bit of trek from where we live, but we would return here again.

We had the chicken parm and the penne vodka, each were spectacular. The portion size was very large. I think two can easily and comfortably share one chicken parm. The service was great, they allow you to really enjoy your time without rushing you.

We had a reservation for a birthday dinner with a pre fixed menu and there were so many things to love! Mozzarella sticks were great, penne alla vodka and eggplant parm all flavorful. Staff was very attentive and we enjoyed the happy birthday singing!

Always, always consistent. Service is attentive. My favorite dish is the mixed seafood with Black Squid pasta with lobster. The bread is crazy delicious.

Amazing service and the house lasagna was fantastic and authentic. The meatballs were not overpowering on the blend of flavors. It was loud and boisterous inside at 10pm. The homemade sour dough bread was delightful! I can't wait to return!

We have ordered delivery many times from Tony's when we host dinner parties at home. Our guests loved the food.

We go to Tony's fairly often as it's close up our apartment and our family loves it. Our favorites are the Hot Antipasto platter- we always order the large one - if family and friends are joining we order a few- so we have some to take home- absolutely excellent. The Shrimp dishes are fantastic- we ask for extra sauce and again- even if it's just my husband and me -we get the large size. The Marsala mushroom dishes- superb. And have tried the Caesar salad served table-side- very good. And we always ask to have the dinner courses come slowly- so we can take our time. The wine list has some nicely priced wines and splurge ones for special occasions. That way there's always room for the spumoni wrapped in chocolate!!! And of course Amaro as an end of evening digestivo.

The place is big and the service was fast and very detailed ! The staff really out did themselves . We ordered a sangria pitcher and that was such a good deal and really well made , fresh . The calamari is a must have , perfectly crispy and seasoned and the marinera sauce complemented it so well! A must have! The chicken parmigiana was delicious and the marinera sauce wasn't too acidic and had the perfect amount of sweet ! The best pasta was the vodka pasta a must have, the flavors were incredible and creamy! We ended with tiramisu which was strong in the coffee and liquor but a good choice! Overall this place is a must visit place for a group of people ! Their portions are huge and really worth the price! I will definitely come back!

We walked in during a busy Friday evening and immediately felt the cozy and friendly vibe great for people, big groups or small, who want to share a generous hearty Italian meal together. I was lucky enough to get a reservation for 5 last minute because I found out this place was pretty popular, and it makes sense why. They were generous with the bread and butter to start off. The service was good in that they offered to replace our plates frequently and refilled our water frequently. The stuffed mushrooms were juicy and the perfect appetizer. The entrees were great and the full order actually fed all 5 of us and we still ended up with extras. The marinara on the baked ziti was well balanced and pasta well cooked with lots of cheese. The seafood platter was generous with the squid and sauce, and included an array of other seafood items. The Mile High Tiramisu was amazing to finish things off. Overall it was good meal.

nothing spectacular, and pretty expensive despite the marketing of family sized portions. none of the pasta was even hot, they were served as if they'd been sitting out for a while. it was pretty busy on a thursday night, but the waiter was decent at refilling drinks and removing dirty dishes. area was loud but nicely lit. calamari was probably the best appetizer we got. free bread was so hard it scraped the roofs of our mouths, and the mussels were a little too fishy for my taste. vodka pasta was pretty good, but the portion was so small for a full size. the bolognese had a decent amount of meat and flavor, but it was somewhat watery. chicken parm was so soggy and nothing held together after cutting it. didn't try the shrimp scampi, but nobody at my table really like it, so def pass on it. don't think I'd come back for the prices. a table of 7 was $66 per person, would have preferred my own plate of pasta at that price point.

I did not know this place, I usually, go TIME-SQUARE Broadway ( to touristy ) The food was amazing as usual, i really recommend this place if you guys wants to eat some Italian food.. come and visit, I can't wait to read your experience in This establishment , cheers!!

I'm not usually a big fan of Italian food, but this place was excellent. My group had international students with us, one of which was from Italy; even she thought the food was excellent. Save room for desert!

Worst Italian food I've ever had... I cannot even overstate this. Their marinara sauce is so sweet, it could be dessert. Their ravioli tastes frozen. Actually, scratch that; the frozen ravioli I've had at Trader Joe's tastes better. The pasta? I'd bet anything I could make something better at home using boxed pasta and jarred sauce. And, it would cost less than $5. Total tourist trap, pretty sure people only come here for the atmosphere (which is very touristy btw).

A dear friend recommended the restaurant. Waited at the bar for my friends to arrive. The most obnoxious and misogynistic guy, dressed in gym clothes, was just spewing hatred talk. I wasn't sure if he was intoxicated, but all the staff appeared to know him. I now understand why there are only about 4 barstools at the bar. Maybe he is an owner??? Who else would tolerate the behavior? My group agreed we would leave a separate review about the food, service and our experience after we were seated at a table Our conclusion- don't expect this to be a restaurant with a bar.

Really delicious Italian food in LARGE portions!! My friend and I ordered and appetizer and two entrées, and even though we were both super hungry, we didn't even finish everything. Luckily, they let us wrap up the food to-go. The leftover eggplant parm and shrimp & artichoke were still delicious the next day! Also: they are dog friendly!

Black Linguini Seafood: 4/5 tasty if you love seafood/shellfish Chicken Marsala: 4/5 Chicken was super tender and moist. Overall a positive experience. Just wished they warned us about portion size or made recommendations. Half order is more than sufficient for a party of 5, but we somehow ordered full size for all the items above!

We so enjoyed dining at Tony's di Napoli on 3rd Ave. for lunch! The space is large, especially the lower level. Decor is full of Formula One memorabilia. My companion was enthralled! Wait staff were knowledgeable and attentive. The meal was terrific. A basket of warm, crusty bread was presented with our wine. Our salads were large and very tasty. I highly recommend the Tricolor Salad. Dressing is added at table side by the waiter! I chose half-side of meat balls bolognese. Wow! The best ever! We finished by splitting a Mousse Cake. Highly recommended as well. Price point is reasonable and the ambiance is unpretentious and welcoming. What a win!

Wow! Mozzarella...Awesome! Zucchini Fritti....Awesome! Chicken Parm....Great! Fettuccini Alfredo...Off the hook! Personally not a fan of Sweet Italian Sausage...but it was good! Kris, our server, was OUTSTANDING! Can't say enough about this place. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed! Oh...and the guy carrying all of the glasses on his arm was cool!

A group of four of us went to Tony di Napoli for a double date night! We were seated very quickly and the service was great. The waiter was very attentive and gave us the run down since it was our first time. The dishes are served family style which was perfect for our group. We ordered meatballs and a Caesar salad to start to share. We also ordered sangrias to drink which were delicious. For our main courses we had shrimp with linguine and rigatoni vodka with mushrooms. Our food was brought out quickly and hot! I recommend this spot 100% for a great lunch or dinner on the upper east side with quality Italian food.

We have enjoyed coming here for as long as I can remember and can always rely on the food to be tasty and plentiful. The Fried Zucchini are possibly the star of the menu - so light, crisp, and a wonderful way to start the meal. The Chicken Parmigiana, Fettuccine Alfredo, and Baked Ziti Bolognese are also some of our favorites. I'd avoid the Penne Alla Vodka, we've tried it a couple times and have never really loved it, but other than that, everything is delicious and each dish serves at least 2. Really great spot for a quick, yummy dinner!
