"Family-owned since 1936, Tony’s Fish Market specializes in quality smoked fish and seafood, all prepared in an Enviro-Pak smokehouse. A “lunch menu” that spans most of the day offers smoked salmon chowder, oyster shooters, and fish baskets, and diners can enjoy the meals within the market’s outdoor seating. Google
Ate a delicious lunch today. We sampled halibut, cod, shrimp, crab cakes and smoked salmon chowder. So tasty. We will be back not only to eat, but buy fresh fish to cook at home.

Irina R.

Google
The best delicious red smokes fish !! Friendly workers ! Welcoming atmosphere !

Google
Great place to buy local fish. I bought tuna , salmon and rock fish, they all tasted stunning!!! Tony @the counter provided excellent service!

Google
Worse lunch ever. Got sick on way home. Pulled over to vomit. Frozen fish like Gordon’s. This is the place to go if you like frozen Gordon’s fish. Shrimp cocktail add me very sick. Didn’t eat the fish. Do not go here unless you like frozen fish and bad shrimp cocktail

Google
We went in recently and they had beautiful fresh steelhead sides, and I mean they were ultrafresh but also I wish to know that the craftsmanship and cleaning the sides was quite impressive. The young man that assisted me picked out a beautiful side and it's served us for two dinners with generous portions. They do an excellent job of handling their fish. Much fresher find a grocery store.

Google
If you like over cooked, over fried and super fried fish for lunch come here. Not only that it’s frozen fish in perfect preformed shapes. It’s not even as good as Gordon’s in your local grocery store. Lunch is smoke and mirrors when you see nice case full of fresh fish. Good job being the 5th generation to run this once a good market to the ground. Good work I bet your founders in the family are super proud of you

Google
This corner Tony's Fish Market/ order to eat here is awesome!! The sea food is fresh and the customer service is top notch. I drove from Astoria,Or. to explore this highly talked about location and was greeted immediately as I walked in the glass doors. I ordered the "Captain Seafood Plate" which came with Cole Slaw and Seasoned Fries. They sell alcoholic beverages and cider in can to compliment your sea food order if you decide to eat your meal outside their patio covered bench tables. Clean environment and comfortable experience. Friendly staff. I will visit again.

Nothing fancy, covered outdoor seating area. Super fresh fish and cooked on demand 3 piece fish and chips, your choice of fish from several options! Excellent shrimp cocktail, and clam chowder. Awesome! And also great prices! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Great fish market. The salmon candy is great however went in today to buy some to find the price went up 20% per pound. 20 %!! Must be a shortage of salmon these days.... $29.99lb is too rich for me. Lost a twenty year customer today. Again 20%!

Yelp
We ordered to go and the customer service was nice! Employees were friendly over the phone and when we picked up our food. The fish and chips were good! I would like to try them fresh at their restaurant because with the way the food was packaged in the cardboard boxes the food sweated a bit and the fish lots majority of its crunch. The coleslaw was really good and so was the shrimp! I did not like the salmon chowder. I think the soup broke and so the heavy cream separated. It didn't have a good texture to it. Overall good food!

Tammi H.

Yelp
They have the freshest seafood around. We always order crabmeat and smoked salmon for the holidays and wouldn't consider any other shop but Tony's! Customer service is always fantastic!

Yelp
It's a fine local fish market. They have fresh versions of the usual suspects in local sustainable fish. It was a full house when we went in, everyone seemed to already know what they want. Service was nice and efficient. Got a 2 lb bag of frozen scallops. Very good scallops. Gets crowded with just a few people so be ready to shop quickly. Didn't try the kitchen but the seating looked inviting.

Yelp
On the menu today was Cod fish & chips. I went with sweet potato fries which were ok, but I have had better..The coleslaw & tartar sauce were both really good. I really had higher expectations as far as the fish quality considering it was coming from a fish market. I felt the chunks of fish were thinner than expected. I know that Halibut is the way to go, but I could not justify spending $20 just for fish & chips. I also got some smoked salmon that tasted like pure Brine. It was like eating chunks of pure salt. There is a nice covered small outdoor seating area. The employees were super friendly & provided good service.

Yelp
I love very close to this place. I go here a few times a year. For Thanksgiving for crab and occasionally for fish their smoked salmon is really really good. They are a little bit pricey but I like to support them. They have started to sell fish and chips but I haven't tried them yet. I tend to only get that at the coast because they are so fresh! I just tried their crab cakes too which I thought were also yummy!

Yelp
I've always driven past here but had yet to stop in, until tonight. We were nearby for a lunar new year event and then stopped by after eating at Corner 14 across the street. No regrets at all. We got the salmon spread, crackers, candied salmon and chowder. Everything was so amazing, that we actually ate most of it after we got home (even tho we were not technically hungry). They've got a huge selection of rubs and spices, sauces and marinades, planks to smoke fish on and even a selection of wines. Unexpectedly, they also had frozen meat selections from all sorts of cuts and types. As well as fish, including stuffed fish and prepared options. Fresh fare ranged from whole crab, oysters, all the fish and prepared fish via candied, smoked etc. We'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is a real seafood market so don't go in expecting a restaurant. They serve up super fresh seafood and their clam chowder was amazing. We ordered fried halibut and fried cod baskets with small clam chowder. They have nicely shaded outside seating. They also have beer and wine for purchase to go with whatever seafood you have ordered. The service is walk-up style and the staff without exception were very cheerful and pleasant. We walked away with candied Salmon (who knew?) that was really good as well and a bold of smoked salmon bites. If I lived here I'd eat here at least once per/week

Yelp
I went into tony's to return some of the salmon bits and pieces that I bought. I paid thirty five dollars for a bag that was totally inedible. The fish was so hard. You couldn't chew it. It was so salty.I should have just taken a tablespoon of salt and put it in my mouth. It would have been easier. When I brought it back in for them to see, they refused to look at it, the guy behind the counter said there would be no refunds, because it was a poorer quality product, and it was buyer beware. When I told him you could not to it, it was so hard and that the few pieces that I did eat made me physically ill all night. He still refused to refund the money. He said that even he would not buy that product.Because it's such a poor quality. He said that the tag on the. Refrigerator it says that it is salty. I went and looked and the writing on the tag was so small. You would have needed a magnifying glass to see it. I have never been treated so badly by an employee who admits their product is faulty.

Yelp
My favorite fish market. Good selections of fish, and their hot food is so good also. Staff are always so nice and helpful,

Yelp
We went here for lunch, and planned on bringing home some fresh seafood. We ordered Fish & Chips with Sweet Potato Fries, a cup of Salmon (smoked) chowder, and two crabcakes. It came with tartar sauce, ketchup, cole slaw, cocktail sauce. We really liked the fish & chips (we shared everything). I still have some fries left for another meal. It was filling! Everything, though was SO HOT, I hate that part, because you can't really enjoy your food, when you're blowing the steam off your mouth, at every bite. We also bought Ciopino in packets, to eat when we go to Kauai, next week with my family. We also bought fresh seafood, a container of bay shrimp, and fresh halibut. I wanted to buy steelhead, but they were only sold whole or filet, but they were too big for us. We also got fresh crab! (We had it for dinner and crab salad, and now, they're gone!) They also offered to clean it for you. (Safeway and Fred Meyer does that too!)

Kathy H.

Yelp
This is my GoTo place for fresh fish because I can always count on the quality. At least once a week I pick up salmon, steelhead, or cod and it's always fresh - much better quality than any local supermarket. The staff is very friendly and happy to weigh out exactly the amount I need even if that means cutting down a larger fillet. They have a good variety of both fresh and frozen seafood. Convenient location too with parking.

Yelp
Fisheries and fish are challenged nowadays. So is truth, it seems. January, not the time of year with lots of product and choices. Went looking for salmon, I expect i would get frozen salmon this time of year. The cards' displayed with each choice have ' checkmark' boxes in the corners for wild caught, farmed, fresh, etc. Most choices today had no boxes checked, just the name of the fish and the price. Asking if a fish is wild caught or farmed, I am told it is 'organically raised'. Tried to get an explanation and best I got was its farmed but better, owing to somehow better feed, processes, etc. No,its not wild caught and they didn't claim their undisclosed source labeled fish was, but this 'organically raised' fish is farmed fish even if they cannot bear to say 'farmed'.. I do not willingly eat farmed fish for many reasons, what I witnessed at Tonys is deceit, not marketing.

David S.

Yelp
Not the cheapest seafood on the market, but the quality is amazing. The stAFF was friendly and helpful. Their smoked salmon is great as is their chowder. Do yourself a favor and give them a try.

John P.

Yelp
Service was great! Bought all my seafood ( crabs, shrimp, clams and mussels) to make ciapino for my family while I was up visiting them. Fresh, fresh, fresh and the prices were good compared to where I'm from. Definitely will be back

Lori G.

Yelp
Great seafood! Fresh crab, excellent service! Definitely the place to go to if you want fresh!
google avatar

Rachel H.

Yelp
Tony's Fish market has been an OC staple for us that love fresh caught items! The owners have always been so kind and the pricing is absolutely fair compared to other places around here. The smoked salmon we get from here is AMAZINGGGG and pairs so we'll with cream cheese and their tuna melts are absolutely delicious and full of flavor!

Mike G.

Yelp
This place sometimes has great deals on salmon or steelhead. They'll even fillet them for you.
google avatar

Marty M.

Yelp
Yeah, so great social media marketing ... come on in for King Salmon (Chinook) the finest of all salmons, at $4.99 a pound. "Oh, we sold out of it yesterday". How convenient, well what else do you have down here ... oh, high priced fish and 14.99 crab. This place is false advertising, been down this road a few years ago here at "Good ole Tony's", waste of a trip ... they hookem, then they schnook'em. ( Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me) - I won't be back. Do yourself a favor, wait for Fred Meyer to put salmon on sale. See below for the "hook". You'll never see it there in the shop, but its a nice photo. Get's you excited to get a cedar plank ready, but don't fall for it.
google avatar

Bee F.

Yelp
Been here quite a few times and the fish & chips, as well as other fresh seafood options have never disappointed. This is my go to place for whole salmon and steelhead. They place a very high degree of focus on getting either wild caught or organically farmed fish that do not contain antibiotics (like most farm-raised fish, even the stuff called "Columbia River" that they sell at Fred Meyer, that's just farmed on the Columbia with all the typical practices that make it unhealthy). Prices for whole fish are very reasonable and buying a whole fish allows you to not only get nice fillets for the smoker, but the head and bones for the stock pot (if you haven't made salmon soup this way, you are missing out).
google avatar

George R.

Yelp
Always love stopping here for their amazing Salmon candy . Excellent quality seafood and great prices
google avatar

Mary Lou R.

Yelp
Hey, local crayfish/ how great is that. Makes a showstopper starter. Remember to call ahead to see if they have them. Currently boiling shells as a soup base, and speaking of fish soup, with a little notice you can get bones, tails and heads for a solid base. Chilled fish soup is yummy. Our California kids were in town and the most requested treat is local salmon steaks. With a crowd to feed we get a whole fish and they steak it for us. Excellent deal because salmon steaks are almost impossible to find and the custom cut means you get exactly the thickness you want. The deal is that you need to buy a whole fish, apparently customers don't like bones so they, and almost no one else has them. Tony's - always great quality and lots of variety. Love the guys at the counter and their prepared food - fish and chips my favorite is just one thing on their menu. You need to remember that this is an old style place, practice some chill- the counter guys are hilarious, willing to help and really know their fish. Fish isn't cheap but the quality is always there. We hit this place around once a week.

Bill E.

Yelp
Went to Tony's for mussels and was pleased with the quality of the product and the friendly service.
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
Honestly. There's not many fish markets around so I've been going here for years. Although don't consider me a regular or anything, just an OC resident through and through. Notice this deceptive advertisements that's all.... 13.99lb=23.99lb Halibut? read the fine print I guess. Disclaimer*****Always buy local***** if I want something g that I have to have. Tony's usually has it. Date night quick stop bam have a 5star meal...

Juliette R.

Yelp
Great seafood and great people! We enjoy their fresh fish. They are also fun to chat with.
google avatar

Don G.

Yelp
Ok., now we come EVERY SUNDAY! THe shrimp Basket this time , Yum! I love all the extra sauce that you get without even asking. Thanks Tony... See ya next Sunday‍

Richard W.

Yelp
I got salmon chowder that had curdled. I was halfway to Eugene and they told me I could bring it in and show them if I wanted it replaced. I used to buy their chowder every two weeks when I passed through Oregon city. I will not be purchasing chowder from them again. Bad chowder and bad business model Shame on me for going back. I got chowder again. Once again it was curdled. I remember their chowder was once good. Now it is crap. Clearly they have done nothing to remedy this situation

Paul E.

Yelp
Stopped by Tony's expecting to find nice thick fresh salmon which the supermarkets are unable to provide. No luck for me this day, not even the $25 lb. Alaskan salmon was inspiring. Service was good though.

Yelp
Love coming here but today was the best experience on coming here. The staff is what makes the great experience others days it's been meh. I've been here before but today it was a great,Maybe it was because tony was the one who helped me, who knows but then they treat you great,I'll spend more money at local places like this. Recommend the fish and chips and don't forget the chowder.
google avatar

Yelp
Came down to O.C. to Tony's to pick up some fish for Saturday dinner, decided to sit for lunch. We ordered the "Big Seafood Basket" to split between two of us, and a two-piece fish-and-chips for one other diner. Honestly, we were severely disappointed by the "Big" basket. One piece of battered fish, one battered oyster, a couple of pieces of shrimp - and some fries...it just seemed wimpy compared to some of the similar offerings from other locations. And the flavor didn't stand out. It was average at best, preparation was similarly average. Ah well, maybe another time...
google avatar

Scottsdale W.

Yelp
I'd give them negative stars if possible. Special order for a family dinner before a niece heads off to college, appt. to pick up today specifically. Get there and the order isn't there - not delivered, evidently. Okay, no big deal if they couldn't get it from their distributor, right? Oh wait, they could have called, yeah, and saved us the trip to pick up the special order, since they knew what time we were coming. You know, guys, that phone thing people use to communicate (well, some people do)? Worst part - three guys standing around, and absolutely no interest or concern that our special order isn't there - no "sorry", no "let's find you something that will work", nada. WTF? I thought people in a retail shop actually like customers to come back. Well folks, that ain't gonna happen. Too bad - they've had good stuff in the past but just lost a customer. Hope others don't have the same experience we did - hate for local shops to go under. But if you treat people like we were...you deserve what you get.

Drew C.

Yelp
Okay let's break this down: 1 Called ahead for a 3 piece Halibut Fish & Chips Basket - Looks like frozen halibut performed from the grocery store. Nothing to write home about - just M E H !! $20.00 2. Ordered 2 - 8 oz. Salmon Chowder - DON'T! It was soup - lacked taste, seasoning and veggies. $5.00 ea = $10.00 Total Bill $30.00 split in 1/2 $15.00 each - the prices do not match for the lack of quality for the food. Disappointed and will not return. Waste of time and money $$. Customer Service Friendly but that is all that it has going for it.
google avatar

Dmitriy K.

Yelp
Brought my salmon in for smoking and wasn't too impressed ended up doing it my self next time , as there's was a bit dry in my Opinion.
google avatar

Caroll W.

Yelp
Typical bate and switch. Went in January had ordered 10 dungeness. They were 6.99 a pound. Told them I would like to get some for Sunday about 15. They said I should call Sat to place the order. Told them fine. The wife placed the order paid and the. We noticed they were now 9.99 a pound. Called and spoke to Chris and was told they were 6.99 for the older crab. Asked to cancel, it was given the run around, and I was told a manager would call. Here we are in February, nobody called. Had to dispute with amex. I would have just got them all the day I went to get 10 if I was told the price may go back up etc.

Rick R.

Yelp
If it was just today's experience... NO STARS. I've gone to Tony's many times for fresh fish. In their fish counter the fish are fresh and prices are decent. But today, I called to see if they had any smoked albacore, as they have been out for a while. I asked the young lady who answered the phone, she said, 'let me check', came back and said, 'Yes, we have it'. I thanked her and told her she'd see me in a bit. A half hour drive to the store, 'I don't see any smoked albacore' I said. 'Oh, we don't have any. Haven't for quite some time.' a young lady said. I told her I called and was told they did. Her reply, 'Oh, it must of have one of our cooks in back. They don't always know what we have.' Sooo... over an hour of my afternoon gone. I'm there so I thought I'd get some lunch. They were out of cod fish & chips. They were out of salmon fish and chips. But they had Halibut fish & chips, even though it was scratched off the menu. Since it was scratched off, I asked how many pieces in an order. I was told three, for $18. So I ordered. When it arrived, there were two. I told the guy who brought it that I was told there would be three. He said, 'No, only two to an order'. So... yes we have smoked albacore, but no we really don't. And there's three pieces of fish for an order, but no there isn't. And on top of that, the halibut was overcooked, like jerky and if it was 1/4" thick I'd be surprised. I ate one piece and decided to take a picture of the other $9 piece. When I told the guy who served it, $9 each for a piece this small is a lot. His reply, 'Hey, it's Halibut. Halibut is an expensive fish!' That it is, but not for me at Tony's any more.

Yelp
I went there on a Thursday around noon thinking I was going to end up fighting a crowd based on the high review rating. But I was the only one there! Something must have changed from when those reviews were posted a year ago or more. The selection was very limited and the cost was rather high - but I do know fresh fish is hard to come by these days as the larger commercial vessels are pushing the smaller locals out.

Greg C.

Yelp
I saw their ad on FB marketplace and decided to drive by. The sign in the window said chinook for $9.99 a pound. OK. Went in and looked at fish. What I saw was nice bright whole salmon for $12.99. Right next to them were some filets labeled "BC salmon." I thought the BC implied wild caught for some reason and didn't think of asking if it was indeed wild caught. Asked where whole fish came from- BC. Not a farm in BC, just BC. Bought a seven pounder. I figured out they were farmed after eating some of the fattiest fish I've ever had. Composted about 4 lbs. So, instead of getting a screaming deal on fish... I should have known better. Fish and chips were decent though.
google avatar

Ryan H.

Yelp
They have a great selection of fresh fish! I ordered the small sampler and smoked salmon chowder. The chowder was good, but there wasn't too many pieces of smoked salmon and the potatoes were cut a little on the larger side. I got a regular size($5) and had about maybe 3-5 pieces of salmon. The sampler had a good variety at an affordable price $13. There was a piece of cod, 2 shrimps, 2 scallops, 2 oysters and your choice of fries( sweetpotato, regular, or curly). All the seafood was really good and fresh!
google avatar

Brett K.

Yelp
Very good halibut fish sandwich! We also got cod basket with tots. The cod was good, tots were cooked perfectly. The side coleslaw was yummy, lite vinegar with a nice sweetness.
google avatar

Kelly K.

Yelp
I love this place.... The people, the fish, everything about it! Especially that it's so close to home! Highly recommend!!!

Gerald A.

Yelp
Limited selection at times. Great quality and reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I've purchased seafood from Tony's for over five decades. Never disappointed.
google avatar

Erica O.

Yelp
Always love hitting up Tony's for some fresh stuff when I'm in town. This trip was no exception. We stopped by and picked up some fresh oysters and some fresh bass shrimp and everything it's just always so delicious and so fresh from Tony's I always look forward to going and seeing them when I go back home.
google avatar

Dennis O.

Yelp
I was driving by Tony's fish market and noticed the advertisement on the window for Dungeness crab at $8.99 a pound, it was the largest sign they had on their window. So I went inside to purchase the crab and I was told it's actually $14.99 a pound, the $8.99 price was for 4 day old crab. The sign on the window did not mention this. So I asked for the older crab and was told they didn't have it, although the sign was still being displayed. I had to wait in line to be told this, what a waste of my time. The woman in line behind me also believed the price was $8.99 a pound and she complained. This appears to be classic bait and switch, if not illegal at least very unethical. I would expect this from an used car lot on 82nd Ave. it's very unfortunate that we don't have many options in Oregon city for Seaford, I will make every effort not to patronize this place again.
google avatar

Amy J.

Yelp
Bought fresh salmon for a dinner party. It was delicious. There was an outdoor area with picnic tables so I think they must sell cooked seafood too.
google avatar

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
I can't believe I waited so long to come here after driving by. This is the best place for fish and/fries/tots, cole slaw, fried shrimp, crab cakes, OMG. Outstanding! This is my go to for fish and clearly everyone in town knows it because they are busy, but the wait time Is fine, they are quick. So darn good and fairly priced.
google avatar

Carson D.

Yelp
Was looking forward to some delicious Fried Oysters amd Fried Halibut - unfortunately a very disspapointing meal. Oysters overcooked - burnt ends - inconsistent size pieces. Halibut appeared to be processed, pre-breaded frozen. Coleslaw was tired, limp and not freshly made. However, the French Fries were quite good -- cooked perfectly and crisp served with a fine avec de ketchup. Appears the 'go to' seafood here is the Smoked salmon. Allrightythen, I am heading to Dan & Louis Oyster Bar in downtown Portand for a fine order of Fried Oysters and Halibut & Chips. Word up !

Yelp
Normal annoying drizzle kind of day. Our last coast getaway left us yearning for some delicious seafood. Was it possible without the 2 hour drive? Saw Tony's in a local magazine and we decided to head to Oregon City without checking Yelp first. The yearnings I tell you. They make me do crazy things. Got there to check in on Yelp & was relieved when I saw the many stars. There was a consistent line of regulars. Always a good sign! Most were buying seafood and jerky. We got the halibut fish sandwich, crab melt, trio of oyster shooters, and some salmon candy. The mom of the family was the cook and prepared our food as we sat on the covered patio outside chewing our delicious salmon candy, which they ended up giving us for free. Think smoked salmon jerky glazed with sticky sweetness. We also got some trout jerky for later. The shooters came out and they were big juicy suckers! They told us that it's basically like a vitamin shot with all the zinc, iron, calcium, Vitamin D, B12, etc. Yummy & nutritious! The sammies came out next. Both came with chips, a pickle, and a homemade pico de gallo with jalepenos, onions, line, and cilantro. The halibut was crispy, juicy, and tender. The crab melt was piled high with fresh sweet crab meat. So good! It definitely rivals any beach joint without the trip. They also do their own canning and I think you can bring in fish to be processed. They are so nice and I'm feeling another yearning coming on this weekend!

Mary H.

Yelp
Short and sweet: Beautiful products, great variety; friendly helpful staff. Love this place!
