If it was just today's experience... NO STARS.
I've gone to Tony's many times for fresh fish. In their fish counter the fish are fresh and prices are decent. But today, I called to see if they had any smoked albacore, as they have been out for a while. I asked the young lady who answered the phone, she said, 'let me check', came back and said, 'Yes, we have it'. I thanked her and told her she'd see me in a bit. A half hour drive to the store, 'I don't see any smoked albacore' I said. 'Oh, we don't have any. Haven't for quite some time.' a young lady said. I told her I called and was told they did. Her reply, 'Oh, it must of have one of our cooks in back. They don't always know what we have.' Sooo... over an hour of my afternoon gone.
I'm there so I thought I'd get some lunch. They were out of cod fish & chips. They were out of salmon fish and chips. But they had Halibut fish & chips, even though it was scratched off the menu. Since it was scratched off, I asked how many pieces in an order. I was told three, for $18. So I ordered.
When it arrived, there were two. I told the guy who brought it that I was told there would be three. He said, 'No, only two to an order'.
So... yes we have smoked albacore, but no we really don't. And there's three pieces of fish for an order, but no there isn't.
And on top of that, the halibut was overcooked, like jerky and if it was 1/4" thick I'd be surprised. I ate one piece and decided to take a picture of the other $9 piece. When I told the guy who served it, $9 each for a piece this small is a lot. His reply, 'Hey, it's Halibut. Halibut is an expensive fish!'
That it is, but not for me at Tony's any more.
