Seattle’s New Restaurant Openings

"After closing their Alki shop a few years ago, the local donut franchise has returned to West Seattle with a new location on California Ave. Expect old fashioneds, apple fritters, and tons of seasonal flavors." - kayla sager riley, aimee rizzo, gabe guarente

This place was the overall winner in our side by side taste test with Voodoo Doughnuts. Top Pot has a good selection, fresh and very tasty, very friendly staff, good amount of seating. My only regret is that I didn't try the Ovaltine Latte. Stop by and enjoy!

Delicious, friendly, and great atmosphere! What a wonderful business to go into this central location in West Seattle. Love seeing Julia behind the counter—what a lovely human to be doling out coffee, donuts 🍩 and community!

Needs better management appears to be poorly run. Example who runs out of donuts at 2:30pm on a Saturday?!?!? At the amount they charge vs costs to bake they are leaving lots of money on the table. Hope the get help and better inventory planning, no excuses in this day and age.

Amazing donut shop. Tried the cookies and creme, delicious all around. The dough is soft and the oreo toppings were very tasty. Recommended if in the West Seattle area. Would come back.

So glad you are back in West Seattle. My birthday kiddo prefers donuts over cake. He's sick on his birthday today and I was still able to have your delicious donuts delivered - a small bit of joy for my very sad kid! Thank you so much.

We have been coming here regularly for a while now. Their style of donuts, cakey and dense, is my favorite and it's awesome to be able to try seasonal donuts as well. Today however, was our last visit here. The staff member at the front who served our donuts was the rudest person I've ever dealt with before and it was so surprising since they're usually pleasant here. I'm not sure of her name (she's pictured in another persons review) but she is a taller, biracial woman. From assembling the donuts to ringing it up, it was all done with contempt. At first I thought she just didn't like us, but she gave a delivery driver behind us a hateful attitude as well. Honestly, four dollars a donut is not worth any additional drama. Won't be coming here again, not when there's plenty of other choices.

Fast and friendly service with a large variety of flavors. Raspberry bullseye donut was tasty. Large clean indoor space with a good amount of seating.

While this may be a one off, I was left utterly disappointed. The apple fritters are apparently priced incorrectly. According to the board/color designation they should be rung up at the standard price, however in the system they ring up at a premium price. When I inquired why I'm being overcharged, I was given the low accountability "the computer rings it up that way" response. No offer to rectify the situation. While I'm sure the fritter is nice, I personally don't think $4 for a fritter is appropriate so I decided to just get my money back. This is when the real ordeal began. Neither of the clerks knew how to process a void/refund. It took 7 calls to at least a couple different "higher ups" before a void was processed. Even still, a receipt couldn't be produced to indicate the void. So now I've got a pending charge, no donut, and over twenty minutes of wasted time to show for my visit.

Yelp
Top pot in West Seattle is our favorite donut shop. They have the best maple bars and the kids love all the sprinkle donuts. The coffee is really good too! This location is new and has plenty of seating. It's nice for bringing in a group or friends or the family. Service is always top notch and friendly. They do run out of their popular donuts but these are the freshest top pot donuts you can get. Check it out

Yelp
Great service and donuts. Happy to be the first to review. I got the glazed old fashion donut and latte. Donut was the best old fashion I've had. My husband started with the opal Vietnamese cold brew but it was quite sweet. They were happy to make him a latte to fix it. He got some other donuts like the apple cider one and it was really good too. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
I bought a mango fritter it was overpriced and nasty. I couldn't taste any mango and the outside was stale almost burned. The counter person clearly hates their job and was miserable. Don't go here you're going to spend 5 dollars on a nasty donut. Go next door to joy dough

Yelp
A local institution. The coffee's great, the donuts are excellent and the vibe is welcoming. The picture of Obama buying donuts on the wall at the 5th Ave location is one of my happy places in these dark times.

Yelp
Visited with my nieces, nephews, and kids. The employees had crap attitudes, they seemed super annoyed we came to buy frickin' donuts at a frickin' donut shop. I don't think we even asked, "do you have anything besides donuts?" If we did then maybe, maybe, maybe they could have popped some 'tude. But I'm pretty sure we didn't. I'll chalk this up to bad culture at this store. If you're slinging sugary cakey stuff and you're miserable you must have crappy bosses.

Yelp
The ambiance is really clean and cozy all at the same time. Lots of really unique drink and donut options.

Yelp
I went to a coffee shop and ordered a chile tea latte and a bacon gag and cheese clock and the Barista said "Coming right up Diva" and started serving Barista realness right in front of me and when I got the drink and tasted it I said "I'm dead as a chile what's in this" and the Barista said "a little bit of boots can I hold a lot of fierce hunni" and I said "wow imagine clocking a gag here" would reccomend, also everyone who works here is hot?! Pay them more or you're not an ally

Yelp
Why stay open till 9pm if you have no doughnuts around 7pm? You can still get coffee but you're a Donut shop, make more donuts and have them till close. Thats like going to an In N Out they tell you they ran out of burgers but they still got soda you can purchase.
