"It must be said: Hanging at the mall is so back, and no place makes that more apparent than the Topanga Social food hall. Open, airy, and not at all what you’d expect an upgraded Westfield Mall food court to be — in that you actually want to sit and linger on the sun-dappled patio, not rush off to return those holiday turtlenecks. Topanga Social can more than manage to make both your epicurean (or chicken nuggets-only) friends very happy. After you grab your katsu sandwich, stop by this location of Rock & Reilly’s, which houses Los Angeles’ largest selection of Irish whiskeys. From there, a Jameson Black Barrel served neat should set you on a fine course for the rest of your holiday shopping, easily." - Mackenzie Filson

"I watched Smith roll out Sporty Bird first at SeatGeek Stadium with the Chicago Hounds and then as a branded stall inside Time Out Market, selling chicken sandwiches, spicy nuggets that definitely pack heat, and other chicken items; the heat impressed at the opening but there’s concern it could alienate some local customers. Carol Cheung of Hyde Park’s Jade Court is managing operations at the stall, Smith hopes the venture will bring energy to the market and potentially help revive Jade Court, and Smith says the idea was partly inspired by viral celebrity chicken sandwiches (he joked that after seeing Messi’s sandwich he thought, “I could do better”). Smith also touts a unique claim of being a chef who owns a pro sports team, though that is hard to verify." - Ashok Selvam

"I'm looking forward to Burt Bakman's Texas barbecue spot, Slab, opening a new location at Topanga Social in Woodland Hills on Wednesday, April 24; expect barbecue classics on the menu, including a chopped brisket sandwich, smoked brisket, and baby back ribs." - Rebecca Roland

"On February 8 Topanga Social in Woodland Hills is hosting a food truck festival with a live band and cocktails; ten trucks will be in attendance including Rice Balls of Fire, Birrieria El Patron 818, and CHD Mandu, and the event is free to attend." - Rebecca Roland

"Topanga Social’s sprawling food hall has introduced a weekday 'lunch crunch' special (weekdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.) in which diners pay $15 for an entree-and-drink meal." - Mona Holmes
