Topsail Steamer Seafood

The food is fresh and tasty. The service is excellent. My server was super friendly and helpful when explaining to me how everything works since it was my first time ordering from them. Their menu is extensive with different options for different types of groups or individual order, which was my case. The bucket provided with the ingredients and seasoning is very convenient for you to cook it at home. I ordered the small shrimp bucket with corn, potatoes, onions and sausage. It was large enough for three meals and it cost $65. This is a take out only. You can order online or by phone. I recommend going there the first time. It’s an interesting experience.

This was a unique service that I have never seen before. We had a full kitchen at our hotel so we were able to cook it at the hotel. The seafood was very fresh and the seasonings were very good. I sometimes find restaurants uncomfortable due to temperature and other things. I liked a take out option like this. By cooking it at the hotel, it was super hot and fresh. They made it very easy to cook.

The buckets are usually very good but this time they forgot the corn. Did not realize until I dumped the bucket.

After calling in an order with multiple questions, picking it up in person and cooking it myself, Topsail Steamer is a convenient, delicious and easy seafood meal. The staff was awesome at answering any questions I had and very thorough with the instructions when we went to pick up. The inside is nicely decorated and the seafood is all layed out on ice like a traditional seafood market. But I will say, it was the cleanest looking seafood "market" I've ever been too. We decided on doing a customized high tider for a birthday party. All the food came out cooked and tasted great with Jimmy's way seasoning. The price is a little high but when you consider the conveience factor and the freshness of the seafood, it is well worth it. We will be back!

We purchased a Jimmy's Way Low Country Shrimp Boil, and Daniell helped us. He was very friendly, and he explained the cooking process and the various choices well. The store was immaculate. He encouraged us to call if we had any issues in preparation. We purchased the smaller bucket for 2-3 people, and two of us had it for dinner and plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day. They give you butter and cocktail sauce for serving, which was perfect for us, as we stayed in a rental with limited groceries. They also offer craft paper to spread on your table for easy cleaning afterward. We would absolutely return on our next trip to Wrightsville Beach.

This place is amazing. You have so many seafood options pick out what you like and bring it home in the tin bucket they give you and steam it. Then sit back and enjoy a fresh fabulous meal.

Have me the confidence to cook seafood! After picking out your ingredients they give you an easy to follow guide on how to prepare your steamer bucket at home. The lobster and scallops were great!

The food was delicious and visually pleasing. The atmosphere was pleasant and clean. Our waiter was great from beginning to end. I will be back on my next trip to Wrightsville beach.

So fun. The young woman working was very friendly and knowledgeable, and made ordering was very easy. There were so many choices online, it help to go in. We had a little trouble with the cooking, it simmered but didn't boil so took longer than expected. We also used too much of the spice so it was way too salty. That wasn't Topsails fault though! The seafood was delicious and a really fun way to have a meal. I think the cornbread should have been included though. Next time we will make our own corn and cornbread to go with it.

They could not find my order made and paid for on line. We called before pickup and was told that they don't have our order. Went for pickup with the receipt. The order was not ready because no one looked into the order. Receipt was given and I was asked was I an honest person. The order was made up thinking that it may not be paid for. Before leaving the store the order was found on their computer. Inexcusable! Again, the pot was made up with the thought that "I might be giving away $300 worth of seafood." My receipt was questionable! Will never order from or recommend TS.

The food was great. Ordering and picking up was a breeze. Loved the paper table cover idea.

We had my son, his family, and my wife's close friend from Minnesota over for dinner. I thought serving The Low Country Shrimp Pot would be enjoyable, especially for our guest from Minnesota. We ordered online and then went to the Wrightsville store to pick up our order. The store was clean, and the staff was exceptionally helpful. The meal included: - 3 lbs. Large Shrimp - 1 lb. Andouille Sausage - 8 Pieces of Sweet Corn - 10-12 Red Bliss Potatoes - Homemade Seasoning - 5 containers of Cocktail Sauce - Paper tablecloth (also used for cleaning up) - Instruction card I also ordered the following additions: - Extra Corn and Potatoes for $6. 00 - 2 dozen Little Neck Clams for $20. 00 - 1/2 pound Andouille Sausage for $6. 50 - 1 pound Kielbasa Sausage for $13. 00 - 2 Lobster Tails for $30. 00 The meal preparation was easy, involving just a few steps. First, remove the protein and add wine, beer, or water. Second, steam the vegetables for 30 to 40 minutes, depending on your stove. Third, add the protein back with spices and cook for an additional 7 to 9 minutes. Lastly, drain and serve a delicious meal. Cleanup is simple; roll up all the shells in the paper tablecloth, put them back in the can, and you're done. One small criticism I have is about how the add-ons are delivered. Only the lobster tails and clams were in separate packaging; the extra vegetables and sausage were mixed in with the regular ingredients. Making it difficult to verify if you got all you ordered. I usually don't give a five-star rating on the first visit, but in this case, everything they promised was true. We enjoyed a delicious meal that was easy to cook and could be enjoyed by people who don't like shellfish (I would prepare separate meals for them). I plan to order from them periodically and recommend that you do too.

This is such a fun dinner to have with a group or while on vacation. I've had the steam pots from both Topsail Beach/Surf City and Wrightsville Beach and each time they don't disappoint. I like the fact that you can customize your steam pot based on number of people and can adjust for your liking. The seafood is always fresh and we always have leftovers. Cooking instructions are simple and to me having a steam pot dumped on a table layered with paper is quintessential summer. After you're done, wrap the whole thing up in the pot and dispose. So easy!

We grabbed a bucket for my husband's birthday and it was so delicious. Not only was the quality outstanding and fresh, but the whole process was so easy. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Highly recommend!

What a brilliant idea for a home cooked meal! Great for us while on a trip because sometimes you don't want the hassle of going out at the end of a busy day. Super friendly & helpful staff, good portion sizes, can't-go-wrong instructions w spices, paper table covering, & even the cooking pot. Absolutely recommend!

Always ready when you place your order online. Everything is always so good. Yeah you cook it at home but I promise it's worth it. Love the ease of cooking it and clean up! Highly recommend getting the Jimmys way seasoning!

This place is not a restaurant, it is a "raw" seafood market. We could have gone to Costco or Sam's Club for half the price. The website should not have pictures of cooked seafood.

Everything you need for a slammin seafood dinner. Ordered it online, I built my own high tider with 1lb sausage, 2lbs shrimp, and 3lbs of crab legs. Enough to feed 5. The Jimmy's way seasoning is really good and I used 16oz modelo especial beer . I'll def do this again.

Amazing steamer pot, easy pick up. We had put the order in online and went to our designated location. There was a little delay, as the lady in front of us put in for the wrong location, but the staff handled both parties well. They packed her items up and then we were on our way as well. Excellent seafood selection and add ons. Thank employee took his time explaining the directions and said to call if we had any questions. Can't wait to go back!

Much better than five stars. Just finished our pot. WOW. Crab legs an shrimp were super. Kielbasa, potatoes and corn well prepped. Nit cheap, but our meal was at least 50 percent cheaper than bridge tender, and quality was even better. A great meal . Highly recommend

I'm blown away every single time! We live local to Wrightsville Beach and had family visiting, and couldn't wait to share topsail steamer with them! We ordered 2 High-Tider, build-your-own buckets with extra crab and not a single leg was left afterward! It couldn't be an easier meal to grab and cook at home for that fresh steamed experience and I can't wait to order our next pot already!

Great find!!!! The steamer pot is genius for vacation everything is in one pot ready to go. Everything was excellent we will definitely be ordering again.

Ordered a pot with lobster tails, shrimp, oysters, crab legs, sausage, potatoes, corn & onions. My only complaint was the pot doesn't set flush on the flat top. Had to stop trying to cook it & run to Target since we were in an AirB&B they didn't have one big enough. So just heads up you may need your own pot to boil your stuff. Other than that, $$$ well spent.

Over priced. Only worth the expense should you value the convenience factor. Otherwise, the food was just okay and nothing worth writing about.

What a very unique idea! This was so perfect on our beach trip. We had originally gone there thinking it was a restaurant only to find it's more like a seafood market. You pick your seafood, seasoning etc. They prepare your "bucket" and all you do is add 2 cups of water or beer to the pot and cook it on your stove for about 30 min. We had the Cajun seasoning with crab legs, shrimp, and scallops. The pot also includes potatoes and corn on the cob. It was delicious and we enjoyed it! Easy peasy one pot meal that works for the entire family. Also, currently if you check in on Yelp, you get a free crab mallet. Enjoy!

The steamer was perfect! We followed directions that come with it on how to cook. The only thing I would suggest if you are going to feed young children is use small amount of spices.

We felt like seafood today, and decided to try something different. It couldn't have been easier, all the ingredients packed in the pot. Staff was very helpful picking which package to get, and explaining instructions. We got the Shrimp and Crab Legs, but you can mix and match whatever you want. We brought it home, added beer and were eating a half hour later. Take their advice and eat outside if you can - it does get messy. A paper tablecloth is included, it made cleanup a breeze. We folded it up to gather the shells & scraps, stuffed it into the pot and threw it in the garbage pail. We'll be back for a larger bucket next time company comes by.

If you're looking for an easy, quality seafood dinner you have found the right place. They do everything for you! Fresh, seasoned shellfish in a bucket, all that's left is to put it on the stove to steam. Reasonable price for the amount and quality of the food. Will definitely be a returning customer!

We wanted some great seafood on our only night in town. This definitely fit the bill. It's strictly a takeout place - they provide all of the stuff, and the instructions on how to steam at home. We were staying in an Airbnb, and had a lovely patio and a great kitchen, and we were able to put it to great use with us. If we're ever in a similar situation down in Wrightsville beach again, we will definitely return.

Welcome concept to WB, very conveniently located on Causeway Drive. Friendly staff. Great for entertaining out of town guests or just a easy to make seafood meal when you don't have time for all the prep. Hopefully all the seafood is coming from local fisherman and supporting the local seafood markets. Will definitely be back.

So happy we stumbled across this place! Spent the weekend RV-ing in Wilmington, and one dinner included a delicious pot of fresh seafood already prepped and ready for us to pick up. We actually were successful at cooking over the campfire too! Then enjoyed dinner al fresco under the stars. Thanks for such a great night, would absolutely recommend!!!

The food is probably going to turn out fine. Maybe I missed it in the ordering but I thought I was going to pick up ready to eat food and it turns out that I've got a cook it and it's gonna take an hour. We are at the beach and so you need to use bottled water and that's it that was another trip to the grocery store. I'm hangry!!

Our family of 4 ordered a pot to steam at our condo over Labor Day, and we ate outside with the beach breeze. Nothing could have been finer, and we had shrimp for lunch the next day. Lots of fun, especially as we didn't want to eat in a restaurant due to the pandemic.

Not a restaurant, the title is so misleading! We went in there twice and finally figured it's NOT A RESTAURANT! Why called 'steamer' when you are are providing the steamed foods? And showing the cooked foods on Yelp and Google?!

I was a little skeptical at first. But I was totally mind blown. They make it so easy. Literally the only thing you need is a stove. You pick out what seafood you want and the seasonings, take it home add water, or beer, and it's ready in about 45 minutes.

Flawlessy executed, awesome concept! Very much enjoyed our steampot! The keylime pie was pretty terrific too!

Unique place and cool concept that you take your seafood to go and prepare when desired. Only reason for 4 stars is the price. We paid $135 for an order to feed 5 or so people. Food is definitely fresh and good quality but price is steep.

This place is brilliant! Food arrived promptly and it was delicious. from placing order, to confirmation and delivery, it was seamless. The price is great and a wonderful way to enjoy delicious local seafood. Our suite had a two burners, we simply added water and set the timer, when it was ready we sat poolside and dumped it out on the paper provided ,awesome!

This is the biggest ripoff ever. Place is a glorified seafood grocery store. They supply it in extra small portions and you have to do all of the work yourself. It's very expensive for a small amount of food which you have to cook at home after buying for top dollar. Feel free to try this tourist trap but keep in mind that you would be getting a much cheaper meal by getting the materials yourself.

We had such a great time taking home our seafood and steaming our own feast. The staff was very helpful and friendly. If you are staying in Wrightsville and have access to a stove top this is a must do for your visit. The food was great and we had an even better time making a mess and enjoying fantastic seafood!!

I'm not one to grade anything five stars. But this meal from start to finish made my already great day at the beach just superb. We are at Wrightsville 1-2 times a summer. We have tried just about every seaside restaurant in the immediate area. I wanted something new, authentic, not fried. Im a native Rhode Isalnder who transplanted here 6 yrs ago, so seafood is important to me. I bumped into Topsail on google and never looked back given the description and pictures. We werent necessarily looking to dine out after a full beach day so... boom. The stars alligned. Only thing i personally would have changed was i prefer my shrimp shelled, always. But thats a preference. When i say i decided and didnt look back, i did literally... i also didnt ask for price (except for a lobster tail). So... that said some may want to know the cost of the meal. I wouldnt call it a frugal purchase, but worth every penny. My gf and i had a meal serving 2-3 plus a lobster tail, and we still have like 2lbs left. Best seafood meal ive had in yrs, best ever in NC. Thank you Topsail, ill be back.

We were so impressed with this whole experience! We ordered the large crab bucket and it was delicious and plenty of food for 4 people. The instructions are simple and requires no prep except adding water! This whole concept is genius and we will be doing this again for sure. I also loved how friendly all of the employees were during my two trips in the store- and they didn't try to up sell me on the mallets and crackers which I appreciated- even though I'll probably buy a cracker next time I go in! I highly recommend this place and can't wait to have future guests of ours get to experience this meal without me having to shop and prep it myself ;)
