Regardless of the time of year or weather, you're going first for the rooftop view. Even if it's cold and they seat you inside, it's worth it to step outside and just take it in. Even the fog covered Sound takes on a certain ominous mystic from here.
It can be surprisingly busy even on a week night and they don't take reservations so plan ahead. We didn't have to wait at all for a seat but the better ones are near the windows, unless you're just heading to the bar. The lighting above the tables were so bright that I almost got a migraine. It's just so much darker in Washington for such a long time in the year, that bright lights become almost blinding.
This small restaurant was fairly full, like I mentioned, on a week night so they seemed to have only 3 people working the floor - host, wait staff, and bartender, who also met people at tables in the bar area - and they all seemed to be confidently fulfilling their responsibilities. Our waitress forgot a couple of things but the hostess was nearby to take care of the team.
I only gave them 4 stars because my husband was up that night puking his gutts out and, while we don't have direct evidence, we're pretty sure it was from the burger he ate. I had the clams, which we all agreed were amazing. And our kiddo had the pizza, which they also ate for leftovers the next day. Would still return to this restaurant, we'd probably just stay away from the burgers.
