The taqueria chain, known for its focus on fresh ingredients and house-made tortillas, will open in the Midtown East development. The first 100 customers will receive a t-shirt for free chips and queso for a year." - Erin Perkins

First time here food was great! Definitely will revisit. If you are in the area definitely check them out for some good tacos and a drink.

Google
A really great place to eat. The tortillas were soft and delicious and the tacos were super filling. I had 3 and I couldn't finish them all. I'm a big taco person, so this is by far one of the best taco joints here. The guacamole and chips were awesome as well. I will for sure be heading back here to try something new.

Google
I visited here this past weekend for the first time. I loved all the selections, and prices were reasonable as well. We got four tacos, total and two alcoholic beverages. Everything was flavorful, including the queso. I will definitely be back to visit when I am back in town!

A rounded up 4 for this one! I originally discovered Torcy's in Houston and had been to a couple Phoenix locations. I was excited to try the Raleigh one since I had a free taco to redeem as part of the reward program. I came on Thursday around 830 PM and sat at the bar for full service (it's also an order at the counter type in the front portion). It's a nice enough spot in the middle of a shopping complex, so great and convenient for stopping for a quick bite in the middle of errands. It was not very crowded or busy, so I was waited on immediately. I ordered the democrat (barbacoa, onions, cilantro, avocado) taco on a corn tortilla and a top shelf margarita ($2 off on Thursdays). My bartender was really friendy and the taco came out fast, under 5 minutes. The drink was tasty and refreshing. The barbacoa, while tender and juicy, was lacking a bit in flavor. It was a good size taco though (as one would expect for over $5 a piece) and I'd definitely be interested in trying some of their other items- I think they have a secret menu too so that would be fun to look into.

Google
Torchy’s is right across the street from my apartment and it’s the best for when we don’t feel like cooking. They offer a great vibe, fast surface and tasty tacos for prices significantly cheaper than Chipotle. So far I’ve had the Crossroads and the Democrat tacos, both were delicious. Their cocktails are also very good and strong for the price! The house margarita and Paloma were both excellent. Overall a great place to grab some quick takeout or hangout for a drink or two!

Google
I’ve had several co-workers tell me how great this place is so I decided to give it a try. I must say that it didn’t disappoint. The food was amazing! Service was great but I sat at the bar since I was eating alone. The bar tender kept my drink full and got my food out quickly. The queso is a must try if you go here. I highly recommend and plan to visit again next time I’m in Raleigh.

Google
The food is fantastic. If you like spicy tacos it is amazing. We had the chicken fajita and steak fajita tacos and the Brushfire taco with the green chili queso. Such a good choice

Google
My favorite taco place, everyone there is super chill and the lines always go quickly. Tacos take a couple minutes to be done but they are always hot once you get them. Their takeout system is incredibly impressive as well. You owe it to yourself to try torchys. They are so good I end up getting like 5 tacos every time, it’s expensive but it’s worth it. It’s also a quiet atmosphere, I don’t like really loud restaurants and it is never super loud when I come in, even if the restaurant is packed.

Yelp
Saw this gem on a website and decided to take the family out to see what the hype was about and it did not disappoint. We were unsure of what to order so we each ordered a different item and shared. The restaurant it's self is very trendy. I loved the decor. Seating was plentiful and we were able to secure a table in the middle section of the dining area. The food came out timely and was very good. The chicken and steak were both cooked very well and the toppings were fresh and plentiful. I have recommended it to several others since the experience was so good.

Yelp
Nice place.. it's a simple order at the front then take your number to your table and they deliver it to you. The food came fairly quickly.. the portions are a bit small but the food was delicious. As a visitor from Texas e we have many Mexican places to choose from and this place comes close.

Nichole C.

Yelp
Sooooo the tacos are delish! I wasn't expecting them to be that feeling, but I didn't know what I was getting myself into. Haha. Both tacos were really good but I think I could just eat the sausage on its own. Waste of calories with the tortilla lol. The churros were awful. Barely any sugar on them and the inside was just too mushy. Oh well. Stick to the tacos. But I wish they explained the sauces to me more.. because I like sauce buffets hah. I'm a dipper!

Yelp
Always love going to Torchy's - tacos are amazing. Drinks are okay and nothing overly special. It can get quite busy during dinner but good comes out quick. Definitely prefer going during the summer when it's warm and not as loud.

Adam B.

Yelp
So after about 6 hours of doing deliveries, I stopped in. Most of the taco prices were between $5.50 and $7.00. I asked the worker behind the counter how many tacos come in an order. I was told 1; and gosh, I was stunned. I mean I wanted to try 3 or 4, but I wasn't paying 6 or 7 bucks for each taco! So I went with the burrito bowl grande. The word grande is a misnomer. This was basically a snack size bowl. With the addition of steak, it came to $11. Throw in the drink, and I spent about $16. The bowl had rice, refried beans, cheese, pico, guac, sour cream, and two sides of salsa. It tasted fine, and I did like both salsas. But the portion size just turned me off.

Yelp
This restaurant is in a cute area of Raleigh in a nice shopping center. There is indoor or outdoor seating. I ordered the green chile queso with chips. The half size is really small but perfect for one person. For my main dish I ordered 2 tacos; fried Avocado and green chile pork. I added a top shelf margarita. The tacos had amazing flavor and were larger than traditional street tacos. The margarita was very small for the price and just ok. Way too much ice so only like four drinks and you're done. The person at the register was nice and food came out at a good cadence. I did have to ask for my drink after it didn't come out with my tacos.

Charles V.

Yelp
You know, I've had a lot of tacos in my lifetime, and these were some of the better ones. I ordered a few different tacos and they were all great! But what stood out were the tortillas. The texture and flavor was spot on. And it just made the whole taco incredibly enjoyable. I'll be coming back!

Thema D.

Yelp
I've been back a few times since then and my experiences have just been okay. One time, it was a full house and there were no tables available. I asked a worker if there was a line or anything to wait for tables and she was like "maybe something will open up soon" so I just went ahead and got my food to go instead. I do like the way they put most sauces in separate containers so tacos won't be a soggy mess by the time you go home. Last week, I had a not so great experience with the food but the manager resolved it. I'll probably go back one day but it'll be awhile.

Yelp
My boyfriend told me I had to go here and he was definitely right!! The Queso!!! I'm a cheese addict and this one of the best Queso's I've had! The tacos were nice and filling and great for lunch. The margarita was delicious! Loved this restaurant and will definitely return when I'm in town !

Kristine U.

Yelp
I had a great lunch at Torchy's. I arrived right at noon last Saturday for lunch after getting a pedicure nearby. There was already a long line forming. There are menus located right when you walk in to browse before you order at the counter. I was sad that they were out of queso and shrimp during my visit. I ordered the taco of the month; Baja fish, the fried avocado taco, the fried chicken taco, a side of chips and salsa and the Top Shelf margarita. I found a place to sit, and my chips and salsa along with my margarita were brought out to me. The margarita was tiny for the price, but tasty. The chips and salsa were just ok; the chips tasted slightly stale and I wasn't a big fan of the salsa. Then my tacos were brought out to me and I loved them all. Especially the fried avocado. Each one had amazing flavor and they were not skimpy with the fillings. I'm looking forward to return to try other tacos on the menu and their queso.

Chris A.

Yelp
The tacos are really good. If you love heat the torchys is for you. Had the steak fajita taco I loved the flavor just swish the veggies were a little more cooked and cheese was a little melted. The Brushfire taco was amazing. It really brought the heat and the flavor. The green chili queso was soooo amazing we could not stop eating it. My wife gets street corn everywhere she finds it. She loved the flavor wish it had a little more of the cream in it. Overall we will be back. Oh yeah and the service was very quick. If you like spicy flavorful food Torchys is for you

Andrew G.

Yelp
Torchy's lived up to the hype!!! The service was crazy fast, with the chips and queso arriving before I was even able to get my drink. The salad was great and I could tell the chicken was cooked fresh. It had a great marinade and the mixed greens were awesome!

Kency P.

Yelp
We were in town for Dreamville Festival and Torchy's was definitely our go to. You walk in and self order at the counter, a get a number and seat yourself. It's very clean and the cool merch around the restaurant adds a nice touch. We ordered the Crossroads, Baja Shrimp, Mr orange, Vagabond and the street corn. Everything was absolutely delicious and every taco was unique. I especially enjoyed the Mr. orange.

Raquel S.

Yelp
I'm from Austin and grew up eating Torchy's Tacos so I drove two hours from Charlotte to eat here. This spot is busy! I came around noon on a Sunday and sat at the bar to enjoy my tacos. The Mr. Orange taco was delicious! The green chili pork taco lacked flavor. I had to use all the salsa just to taste something. I hope they work on improving that one because it's Torchy's signature taco.

Bryant B.

Yelp
Took a trip to Raleigh,NC to Torchy's Tacos !!! The tacos really did it for me ! Highly recommended if you're here ! Took an outside seat because of the weather but inside look really good a clean ! Full bar ! And drinks were sensational and service was amazing.

Nisha C.

Yelp
I LOVE TORCHY'S! This place is amazing, and I'm really sad that Raleigh is the closest location (I'm in CLT). I came here for the first time in April of this year, and then again in mid-June, and it was outstanding both times. I'm a vegetarian, so the two tacos I got is the Fried Avocado & the plant based one. Both are incredibly delicious so can't choose just one. The avocado spicy queso is also incredibly tasty. Mouthwatering just thinking about it! Definitely recommend & I can't wait to be back!

Trendy D.

Yelp
This spot was bomb food was as good as everyone said! We got the chicken fajita, beef fajita, tipsy chick, street corn, queso, and chips. It's a casual spot but good vibes. They have tons of drink options. I'd totally get this spot again!!! They have tons of seats!!!!

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
I'm only giving a one to the portion size I was expecting bigger it was the naughty Santa on a flour tortilla and portion was extremely disappointing! As well as presentation it was put very sloppy sorry but could be a lot better. Taste is always exceptional five stars for that!

Kellie D.

Yelp
Normally a big fan of Torchy's. I love their green Chile pork taco. It's so flavorful and is served on a corn tortilla which is perfect for me since I'm gluten free. So I ordered my usual yesterday and my husband ordered a green Chile pork taco and a republican taco. The republican taco comes on a flour shell but the cashier asked if he wanted flour or corn and he changed to corn. Our food comes and we dig in and halfway through my taco I realize it's a flour tortilla and not corn! I look at the receipt and it says flour tortilla. The green Chile pork is supposed to come on corn so why in the world would she change it to flour? My husband's green Chile taco was served on corn as it is supposed to be. Really frustrating.

Derrick G.

Yelp
The food is great and the drinks aren't bad. The service is always helpful and polite.

Amy F.

Yelp
Nice outdoor atmosphere. Food came quickly. Great food with a nice kick! I always forget how strong their drinks are!

Amanda C.

Yelp
I had the Midnight Cowboy Taco (January '23 taco of the month) and it was phenomenal. The potatoes in it were excellent and really made the taco - don't knock it till you try it! Also had the green Chile pork taco which is always on the menu. I really disliked torchys the first time I had it as I felt like the tacos were small but this time they were huge so maybe their portion control was off. Overall really good food and great outdoor space!

Richard N.

Yelp
Not impressed. I order the brisket taco and the meat was cold as if it was just brought out from the cooler. I was surprised to find out that it was $7.00 per taco and it left me hungry but not enough to take a chance on another bad one. I instead walked over to another restaurant, Cava and had a good hot meal. At check out they ask for a tip but for reference, it's counter service and you clean your own table. They do bring the food out but don't clear anything when they do. Sadly, I tipped not knowing the process or the quality of food. I will not repeat.

Alexandra T.

Yelp
I was SO excited to hear they opened a Torchy's in Raleigh! When my sister lived in Houston, we would go every time I visit. Now I get to come here when I visit my other sister in NC!! Torchy's has the cutest decor, friendliest staff, and freshest food! We LOVE their queso, and are obsessed with their hot sauce. We actually order it online because we love it so much! Everyone in my party had tacos and I had a salad. I have to say I didn't have high hopes ordering a salad at a taco joint, but man was it good! The greens were crispy and fresh, and the salad was PACKED. I was so impressed! I can't wait to visit Raleigh again and come to Torchy's!

Ivy S.

Yelp
The food at Torchy´s is amazing. They have a wide variety of foods, making it easy to find something for your whole family to eat. Even though I am a very picky eater, I always leave Torchy´s very full. They give big helpings of food for a very good price. The service itself is 5 stars. Whenever I go to Torchy´s, my food is always out in under 9 minutes, even when the resturant is very full. When my family got a to go order for the first time, we each ordered a side of chips and a quesadilla. We didn´t check the food, so we just left the resturant with the chips. We went to the resturant next door, and one of the workers came into the next door resturant with our food. It was very impressive. I would 100% recommend going to Torchy´s. I hope you enjoy it as much as me!

Shay N.

Yelp
yum - I had been hearing good things about Torchy's for awhile, and finally had the chance to try. I got the Democrat tacos and they were pretty good -- a little dry which is why I'm giving 4 stars instead of five. The service was SO fast!!! Lots of seating and even a bar

Chris T.

Yelp
This place was recommended to us so we decided to try it out a few nights ago and WOW we were impressed! Service was quick and friendly and all were happy with what they ordered. The owner came out and was apologetic that they did not have any rice prepared and offered us substitute options while we waited. Our food was all delicious. I am a big fan of spice, but the jerk tacos made me cry they were SO spicy! The best thing we got was the Nookie, a flash fried cookie dough ball with a cherry. One of the best desserts I've ever had! I'd go back just for those. Love this place and wish there was one near Winston!

Kara M.

Yelp
We love coming here for a lunch on the weekend, unfortunately we don't live close by, but we come to eat here and to grocery shop at the nearby Wegmans. Torchy's food is so fresh and tasty. There are many tacos to pick from, but I recommend looking at the menu before you come since it's counter service. I am a huge fan of the queso and the salsa. Margaritas were a nice treat too, very fresh and flavorful. There is room to dine inside and outdoors. The interior dining room is quite busy and noisy, it's probably best to come here at an off time if you do visit. I really hope Torchy's will consider opening up in Apex or Holly Springs, I think it would do quite well!

Liz s.

Yelp
Love the food and the hot salsas!! I also forgot my purse there and they were fantastic at helping me retrieve it.

Beth R.

Yelp
Always delicious food and quick service! A bit pricey, but so good. The tipsy chick taco is my favorite.

Kai D.

Yelp
I have definitely grew into eating more tacos this season and the Baja Shrimp Taco & Orange Tacos were good! First time here and I dined in. They have a bar and tvs with plenty of seating. I definitely will be back to try different items on the menu.

Crystal B.

Yelp
This original Texas taco spot is tucked away in a shopping center with adequate indoor and outdoor seating. The outside is a patio setting, with bench style tables and umbrellas for shade. The ambiance is that of a normal walk in take out spot, yet slightly bigger with loud red details and lettering splashed across the walls. The customer service was very good, and the staff was friendly. I tried the "Ranch Hand" and the "Trailer Park". The food was very fresh, but the flavor was bland. Ask to try a few sauces to compliment your tacos. The bartender was amazing, the drinks were perfect and he didn't skimp on the spirits :) They were poured well and appropriately. Delicious, and the prices are fair! Stop by for a quick bite at lunch or for a late evening snack and a refreshing drink sometime.

Jeff F.

Yelp
Torchy's is a great place! The food is delicious and fresh! Really enjoy the tacos. They have a decent selection of beer too. The bar area gets really busy sometimes and the wait for a drink can be a little long.

José A.

Yelp
This is a nice taco chain place in Raleigh! I ordered the green chile & queso chips, the street corn, Mr. Orange taco and the Baja Shrimp taco. Every single item was delicious. This place has a decent and good looking full bar with a limited offer of beers. Torchy's Tacos is located in a trendy shopping plaza with comfortable and free parking. Not bad at all and just added it to my list of favorite places in Raleigh.

Lori R.

Yelp
Damn best queso I've ever had anywhere! And that's just the beginning. For Cinco de Mayo this year my company ordered from here and treated us all to the most amazing lunch. There were leftovers and I took some home. Husband was just as impressed. So when the recent craving hit for Mexican flavors, we headed here for an in-person experience. Order at the counter OR there's full service at the bar. Their drinks do sound amazing, and next time we will be doing that, but this time we ordered, got our pager and fountain drinks and sat down. Very quickly queso and chips were brought. Let me just say if you've ever had sad watery boring queso, this is not it! There is layer after layer of flavor here. Green Chilies that are the flavor bomb along with diablo sauce, guacamole, cilantro...I could go on, but I'm starting to drool again and I'm full. The chips were excellent also, and the perfect amount to match the amount of queso. No leftover anything! We were just starting on the queso when our mains came out. I chose the taco of the month which was shredded red chicken, with a fried poblano strip, onions, etc. Others have complained about prices, and yes this one taco was $5.75, but it was not a teeny tiny street taco. This was a hearty and obviously house made tortilla JUMBO- filled. There's no way I could have eaten two. And Husband's steak burrito for less than ten bucks was gigantic! Quality. Quantity. Most importantly TASTE. Damn this food is good!

Sal R.

Yelp
Food was great. Price was even better. I've eaten there several times since I found them and I've never been disappointed.

Rayanne C.

Yelp
This place is loud for lunch so probably not the best place for a lunch meeting. That being said the decor is nice and it's definitely a vibe, so happy hr this would be my go to. The service is quick, and the food is fresh. The shrimp taco is pretty fantastic it was balanced and the flavors were delicious. The guacamole was great. The beef fajita tacos were ok. Beef was cooked well but not as flavorful as the shrimp. Oh and the chips were fresh, warm and not greasy

Alexandra A.

Yelp
Here's the deal with Torchy's - the food and portions are good, but the price is too high to ignore. $5 for 1 taco is a bit absurd, especially when it's nothing overly impressive. Is Torchy's better than Taco Bell or Chipotle? Yes. Is it worth $45 for 4 street tacos, 2 drinks, guac and a tip? No. Now I will preface with the fact that I did not try a cocktail, which I hear are very good. I will also preface I did not try their queso, because I'm dairy free for an allergy. However, it is not somewhere I will just decide to go to again. Should everyone try it for themselves and see what they think? Sure. Just know it's going to be a bit pricey and definitely don't get the bland guacamole for $7.50.

Mara K.

Yelp
This place is incredible. Their salsas and sauces are perfect and the tortilla is soft and pillowy. I think the prices are fair for the quality.

Kong L.

Yelp
I was thrilled to discover a Torchy's Tacos in Raleigh. I had my first Torchy's experience in Austin, Texas, and it was one of the best tacos I've ever had. The flavors are bold and vibrant, and the nachos are some of the best I've ever tasted, especially with the cheese sauce. I can't say enough good things about this place. I'm glad to see that they are expanding while maintaining their high standards, from the food to the customer service. I can't wait to visit again!

Selina B.

Yelp
My first experience here since they have been open in Mid Town East. And it was wonderful!!!! Food was spot on. And service was above and beyond. This was on Sunday Aug 4, 2024. The place was very busy, and since it was my first time I thought it was all self service, so I'm guilty of not leaving a decent tip. The prices a bit high, but the way inflation is going I don't usually go out to eat. Torchys wonderful staff!!!!

Debbie M.

Yelp
We were there yesterday, 7/6/24, about 230-3pm for an adult beverage. The bartender was really rude and unwelcoming. He shouldn't be a bartender if he can't be hospitable. Or at least fake it. First time I have ever left a 15% tip, ever. We didn't eat, so I can't speak for the food.

Barbara B.

Yelp
Food came out cold or just warm, not hit. Cheese was not melted. Attitude of employees not welcoming. Lost a custoner....dining out is expensive, why go to a place that does serve the food properly and clearly is taking shortcuts.

Stephanie P.

Yelp
Eh. I've tried it a few times. Not really Mexican tacos. Mostly weird combos like fusion but the queso was pretty good.

Kristal R.

Yelp
The tacos here are amazing! They completely fill them up with such delicious extras and the meats are always cooked so well too. Beef barbacoa is not one you find everywhere and theirs is amazing! The Beef Fajita Taco is also so delicious too! The street corn is also one of my favorites! They don't leave it on the cob. It's in a bowl with lots of delicious spices as well as a great aioli! Their drinks are also great! I typically get a margarita and they have always been yummy.

Jan K.

Yelp
The service was fine, but the food was just okay. I was looking for nachos on the menu and ended up with two small tacos.

Shadi S.

Yelp
The customer service at this location has always been great and the food comes out really quick. I am not a fan of all of the tacos on the menu but I do love the following items: Trailer Park Taco- fried chicken, green chilies, lettuce, pico de gallo, and cheddar jack cheese with poblano sauce on a flour tortilla oh my! The Green Chile Queso & Chips The Street Corn Honorable mention: The Crossroads Taco (smoked beef brisket)
