"Situated in the oldest, most visited part of Zagreb, this quiet, well-run restaurant welcomes guests with an entire wall covered with plants and flowers that symbolise the Medvednica, the mountain chain to the north of the capital that inspires the cuisine served here. With a focus on local, mostly organic ingredients, dishes are colourful and creative, aiming to awaken the senses by introducing a range of different flavours (sweet, acidic, bitter etc). The sommelier will happily recommend Croatian wines to accompany your meal, while the service is enthusiastic, friendly and attentive. Make sure you taste the risotto made with Acquerello rice, as well as the Torero’s own delicious cheesecake." - Michelin Inspector

The MICHELIN Guide Croatia 2024 Is Unveiled!

"Torero - Zagabria. In the more touristic and lively old town of Zagabria, this restaurant welcomes its guests with a wall covered of plants and leaves symbolizing the Medvednica, a mountain range to the north of the capital, from which the cuisine draws its inspiration. Favoring local, mostly organic produce, the menu is colorful and creative, and seeks to awaken the senses by highlighting the different components of taste: sweet, sour, bitter... The sommelier will suggest Croatian wines to match the dishes. Enthusiastic, attentive and pleasant service completes the experience. Don't miss the risotto with Acquerello rice and the Torero version of cheesecake." - The MICHELIN Guide

Simply spectacular dining experience! Every detail of the evening was exquisite: food, service, ambiance. Gorgeous restaurant with the BEST food. We had the 12 course tasting menu with wine pairing. Chef Dominik served many dishes himself and described the inspiration for each. Sommelier Pedrag similarly described each Croatian wine, it's origin, tasting notes etc. Every moment of this 4 hour beautifully timed feast was special and will be remembered by me and my husband forever. Thank you Team Torero. Bravo.

I am pretty sure that I came back to Zagreb to eat here again. Went to Zagreb a couple of years back and ate here for the first time and enjoyed every minute in the restaurant. It has been amazing to revisit again and witness how much the chef and team has grown in tastes and pairings. I did feel that my first time there felt a bit more intimate but I do appreciate the promptness of the service and pacing of the meal (some thing that other places I’ve been to that have missed the beat on) If I had to recommend a place for someone to eat at - it would be this place. Perfect inspo from Croatian life and unique smells and flavors, with the pairing of wine- it has been a meal I look forward to and want to do again. :) I will be back in a year or two to try it again and will be elated to see chef and team continue to evolve. Thank you to the sommelier that introduced me to the world of Croatian wine :) and to chef for making me fall in love with a perfect balance of flavors and creativity ❤️

£110에 먹을 수 있는 최고의 식사. 3.5hrs it took. It is not just food, but the whole experience! You can find this price and quality only in Zagreb. totally worth it! Starters and deserts are amazing, especially

We had the 7 courses tasting menu "Scent of a taste" and it did not disappoint. It was a great gastronomy experience. Every course was curated to perfection. Alan who attended to us was knowledgeable and the service was excellent. The venue/dining area is contemporary and inviting. Dining at Torero is worth a trip to Zagreb, 10/10!

If you really want the best dining experience that Zagreb has to offer, well this place is definitely No#1. The staff is very welcoming and each meal has a story to reveal. Local Croatian food with seasonal menus and ingredients all blended to dive into a new experience of dining this place is something you must have at least during your stay in Zagreb. The food has so many different types of flavours that you can't really tell much about it until all the flavours and textures are gone from your plate. The wine list is amazing and if you need a help over what to eat and which wine is the best the professional staff will not have a problem to assist you further. Nevertheless the interior design is amazing. I am well travelled and have experienced many restaurants in a lifetime, but this place in the heart of my hometown of Zagreb is one of the best experiences so far. Hear, feel, taste, smell, enjoy is the best way to put it. 10/10 👌♾️

Echoing what other diners have said - I can’t believe this place doesn’t have a star yet! But I’m sure it is coming very soon. While Nav was more of a rustic experience, Torero is definitely more elevated fine-dining. If you’re stuck between choosing one or the other, I would go with Torero. The location is beautiful and the service was outstanding. My main server was extremely personable and described not only the details of each dish, but the concepts behind them, with great finesse and perfect English. The food was super creative, a great mix of modern and traditional, beautiful to look at, but most of all delicious. It’s no easy feat accomplishing it all, but Chef Ivana has done it here. It was probably the funnest, most interactive fine dining experience I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying. The only slight drawback from the experience was the sommelier who doubled as an assistant server. It seemed he was offended I didn’t want any wine pairings or additional drinks other than the apertif, and interactions with him felt awkward thereafter. I guess he came off as an overly stiff and serious presence in an otherwise modern and fun environment.

Some of the best things I’ve ever put in my mouth. The food was incredible! The story telling even more so, and the wine pairing and knowledge of all the staff made the meal so special. They also adapted the taster menu to be gluten free (including home made gf bread!) thank you for such a great experience!

The ambiance, service and food were all incredible. We both did the tasting menu, an aperitif and a wine pairing with the beef course. I do want to disclaim that this restaurant is a unique experience. The food is somewhat unexpected, and the meal lasted four hours. We thought it was worth the time but make sure to go in with the right expectations.
