TORO Snowmass

The food here is delicious. We loved the decor of the restaurant and Julia was a fantastic server! Highly recommend the sushi, ceviche, lomo saltado and short rib. They were very accommodating with our dietary requirements. Drinks were also excellent. Thanks Julia for a wonderful dining experience!

Look, I come to Colorado for the slopes, not the food. I’m genuinely Colorado’s #1 hater when it comes to dining, but this restaurant was the first 10/10. No notes. The empanadas, birria bao, octopus, short rib, and truffle fries were all 🔥. Service was also great (I don’t think my water ever dipped below full lol). The ambiance and interior design were equally impressive. A lot of places around here call themselves “luxury” just because of location, but Toro actually delivers on quality and is worth the hype. I rarely write reviews, but this will absolutely be a repeat spot for me :)

Toro is the best restaurant in Snowmass! Every time the food exceeds expectations and service is great! Kara was our server and she’s awesome! My go to appetizers are; the Shrimp Chicharrón, Sweet Corn Empanada and the Bao Buns. The bao’s are my absolute favorite appetizer (pictured) I can’t go to Toro without ordering one of those. This last time we had two sushi rolls the Angry Tuna Roll and the Flambéed Salmon Roll (pictured). As for entrees, the Cusco Chicken is amazing.

We live locally in Snowmass and came during off-season and though it was quieter and the menu slightly abbreviated, the lounge was cozy and had a nice colorful vibe. Everything we got was delicious and flavorful. Our server, Vlad, wowed us with his service and recommendations. We got the Caesar salad, the shrimp cocktail, sliders w/ bacon jam, Latin truffle fries, and grilled asparagus. We also got the martini flight which was perfection!! We can’t wait to come back to check out the fall prix fixe.

We surprised with this restaurant, I'm glad we didn't care about the review. Delicious, tasty food and quality service. We ordered ceviche, tuna roll and octopus. We'll definitely come back

My boyfriend and I had an excellent experience at Toro. We stopped in quick before the rodeo and the staff was very accommodating to our timeline. Food was excellent! I was pleasantly [surprised by the flavor of each dish. We had the ceviche, a couple of sushi rolls, and the carrots. We also did not experience the 22% charge that previous reviews mention. Maybe they no longer do it? Not sure, but that was not part of our bill. We will definitely come back to Toro on our next trip to Aspen.

Really enjoyed dinner at Toro. The sushi to start was great, and they thoughtfully brought the kids food out first. The steak and snapper were both excellent, and we loved the updated Bomba dessert with white chocolate and sorbet.

The food was phenomenal - really delicious! A bit pricy, but really worth it. Service is good too, but not necessarily up to the standing of the prices. Nonetheless, this is a really really good restaurant!

Between the beautiful bar, staff, crafty cocktails, and delicious food, it's hard to wrong here. The bar has the largest tv I've ever seen in a hotel. Makes enjoying a cocktail and catching up on the Olympics a dream. They also allow dogs into the bar area and we wren greeted by a 148 pound Great Dane, and a modest sized Doberman. Cute and gentle. We both had the Smokey old fashioned to start, and then later a Vieux Carre, and a Vanilla Manhattan with dinner. Both perfect. We started with the ceviche, which had a perfect amount of spice for our palettes, and very fresh fish. Next we had the Bison burger and the hanger steak with the chimichurri. The hangar steak was the clear winner, but the burger was no slouch. Some of the best chimichurri I've had. Plenty of garlic. The truffle fries weren't what we were expecting, and not much truffle flavor to them, but tasty. It turned out they weren't needed for our table, since the burger came regular fries as well. Sloppy reading on my part. We were stuffed so we skipped dessert. Truthfully they earned a 4.5*, simply b/c our waiter disappeared for quite a while after we ordered cocktails. We were forced to ask a person refilling our water to find our waiter, so we could place our food order. After that slight miscue, everything went very smoothly. If you're in Snowmass, get away from the mall/base and go across the street to the swanky Viceroy. You won't regret the small walk.

Food was amazing. But, we waited over an hour for food to come. And when it did come, the order was not correct.

The newly renovated restaurant is stunning in atmosphere and design. Very warm and elegant with a latin vibe. The menu is not very big but dishes are made from scratch and the love and attention shows. I feel like prices have significantly increased since last time I visited, so better come with the according cash. My entree was superb but I must say I was disappointed in their caesar salad. For almost $30 I expect more than a few dry romain lettuce slices and dressing on the side. Did not impress me. Service was very good, very discreet and friendly.

This is a Chef Richard Sandoval restaurant, and the food was very good, and the ambiance is great. The restaurant was not busy at all during this shoulder season evening. For some reason they were using a Bluetooth speaker for background music instead of all the speakers in the ceiling, but I'll assume that system is just broken or something and they were making do. I had the bison burger, and my wife had the empanadas, and they were great. It's a very expensive restaurant, for what you get, but it's Aspen and everything is expensive so I expected that and have no problem with it. The problem was with the service. I would describe the serving staff as timid, disengaged, and disinterested. There was no friendliness, no "Hello!, I'm (name), how are you doing?". All business, no smiles. At one point after we'd gotten our food, I was looking to order a glass of wine, and it took so long for our server to come check on us I was ready to just go to the bar and get it myself. I have a daughter that is a server and I am normally a very generous tipper, but after discussing that this was the worst service we'd had in a very long time, I was prepared to leave a 15% tip (still over $20 for the hour we were there). So we laughed when we got the check and saw that they had added a 22% automatic tip, for our party of two. THAT explained the lousy service - it didn't matter, they were getting 22% regardless so why bother trying. We did look back at the menu and it does mention the 22% auto-tip, we just didn't notice it. I doubt we will ever go back to Toro but it did give us a good story about customer service. On a side note, we visited a different Richard Sandoval restaurant, Venga Venga, in Snowmass Village and the service (by Christopher) was excellent - he was a pleasure. In summary, maybe it was just the night we were there, but our experience was great food, nice atmosphere, and lousy service that you will pay a premium for.

Outrageous Cancellation Charge Be careful if you make a reservation here. We had to cancel a dinner reservation for two because of illness. Without any advance notice, they informed us that they would charge our credit card $50 per person! Kelly Sheridan

After eating at Toro twice in the past 3 days I am shocked it only has 3.5 stars. Both dinners that we had were simply fabulous. Both times we had their smoked old fashioned cocktail. The presentation is stunning, see pictures below. It comes out in a glass smoker so filled with smoke that you can't see much of the glass or glasses inside. They open the door and the smoke floods out, smelling wonderful like a rustic cedar cabin. The smoke permeates the drink but doesn't overwhelm it and we all loved them. We had empanadas, the meat and cheese plate and a very nice salad to start, all of which were delicious. The meat and cheese plate comes with flat bread that is wonderful by itself and even better with cheese and fig jam on top. One night I had the pork chop which was one of the best I've ever had. At $72 it's strikingly expensive, but so is everything else in Snowmass village and while I wouldn't get it every day, it's worth it once in a while. They tell me it comes from a black pig, and it was absolutely amazing. The second dinner I had their NY strip steak, also fabulous. All the steaks and chops come with shishito peppers, a chimichurri sauce, and barrel aged whiskey onion butter which blew me away. The truffle fries were good but I would suggest getting them without the melted cheese on top, the cheese overwhelms the truffle flavor. The broccolini was also excellent as were the brussel sprouts. For dessert we had the churros one night and the yuzu panna cotta the other and both were really delicious. The wine was stellar, the staff helpful and attentive and I would go back in a heartbeat.

So, I'm giving these 3 stars because I do not think the food is worth the price we paid. Toro is located at the Viceroy. Right off the bat, you experience the high-end lifestyle of the hotel with the fireplace outside the restaurant and the chic, sophisticated interior of the restaurant. We were seated at a round table near a pillar with ropes, an idea which I loved. However, the table was quite big for the 5 of us and we were left having to stretch a LOT while trying out the plates we were sharing. Our server (?Bill) was very very nice and I will give him an extra 0.5 stars for being so patient with us. We got the mule, the smokey old-fashioned and the spicy paloma for drinks. The drinks took ages to come. We got both our appetizers and ate through half of each before the drinks got to us. Now, the mule was just ok. The mule is my drink and I LOVE a nice, gingery, vodka-dominant mule. This was nothing like that. The citrus was very mild, as was the vodka..and it definitely did not have much of a kick. The smoke of the smokey old-fashioned was nice for a video but it disappeared very quickly and we were left with half a tiny glass of the drink. The drink itself was pretty whisky-dominant. But worth $27? Nope. The spicy paloma was actually pretty good and spice. The best of the 3 drinks. The appetizers we ordered were the Colorado Lamb Queso Fundido and the Truffle fries. Both were delicious but I liked the fries more. Because they were more spicy and with a nice kick. The lamb itself was good but the queso was pretty plain. I would've liked the bread to be a little softer than what it was, as toasted bread. My friends liked it though. These were pretty good portions but we still had to leave some to keep our appetites for the main course. And we were 4 adults. For the main course, we got the Bison Burger, the Cusco half chicken split among 2 people and the Skuna Bay Salmon. Now these plates were a little disappointing. The burger was a bit dry in terms of flavor of the patty and the fries, especially after the truffle fries, were very plain and bland. The kitchen was nice enough to split the half chicken into half for the 2 people who were sharing it. However, same problem again: the inside was dry. The skin was delicious but as you got to the meat, dry. The salmon was ok but I wanted more from it. First, I thought it was going to have mushrooms in plenty - turns out the mushrooms were a part of the jam so I got 3 tiny pieces that were actually quite hard. The salmon itself could've been a little softer and easier to cut. So even though it was cooked medium well, it was closer to the well than the medium. The cauliflower puree was decent. I don't like bok choy so we switched to broccolini, which may have dampened the dish a little bit. (P.S. I would like to mention here that there was a trout dish at Pine Creek Cookhouse we had the day before which was so mind-blowing, I think my seafood standards have been raised significantly.) But I think we were fairly disappointed with the mains. The desserts were pretty delicious! We got the house made ice cream and the tres leches. I LOVED the ice cream. I got the vanilla because I don't like chocolate ice cream and it was heaven. We got 2 scoops only but I would've eaten a whole another vanilla scoop easily, that's how delicious it was. The tres leches was different. Beautiful presentation - a hazelnut sponge. I think I, personally, just like classic tres leches so I couldn't get over the brown sponge and the candied milk on the side. But my friends definitely loved it and finished a big chunk of it. All in all, this meal was not worth the money we paid. There are better restaurants in snowmass and outside which would serve higher quality food without the hefty price tag.

Fantastic food and desserts, however I can only really give it a 4 star review as the price was pretty astronomical.

Food was fantastic; service was horrendous - server came by only twice in the entire meal, separate staff came after we sat post meal for 20 minutes, asked if we wanted a dessert menu to which we replied yes only to be ghosted for another ten minutes. When our server finally reappeared we just asked for the check. Maybe a mandatory 22% service charge means you can treat guests like this but i disagree

Not that I would expect anyone to make the drive to Snowmass just for dinner, but this restaurant at the Viceroy turned out to be a real pleasant surprise. Other reviewers didn't have the same experience as my wife and I but we found our dinner selections outstanding. We both had cooked salmon that was done perfectly for each of us (mine a medium). The appetizer to really try is either of the ceviches! We had this once in Tahiti a decade ago and I have never seen it offered since then... until here. Beautifully done and amazing tastes. Our waitress was also amazing and proved great insights to some of dishes. Our experience was so enjoyable (we are staying at the hotel) that there was just no reason to drive back to Aspen. Oh, and the martinis were very nicely prepared by Shane. Monday the restaurant closes until thanksgiving or so waiting on the hordes of skiers.... But having a great time with the area here nearly deserted was worth coming this late.

After experiencing the worst dining experience of my life, I've made the decision to share the details of how my friends and I were mistreated at Toro. After taking pictures, the Manager, Oscar told my friends and I that we needed to leave because other guests were "uncomfortable". We asked him if pictures weren't allowed and he said "they were, we just needed to leave". We'd been respectful and minded our own business the entire evening. Suddenly We could hear inebriated guest behind us spewing threats such as "I want to smear sh** on their faces, If I could ki** anyone it would be them". After hearing this, the manager chose to ignore them and refuse additional service to us. Last night's events were inconceivable and we've never been so disrespected. Oscar is a disgrace and made us feel unsafe and undervalued based on his decision to allow hate within the establishment. The management team needs diversity and inclusion training and an effective protocol for when guests are threatened. I will continue to take these complaints to the highest level possible.

Visited here for a girls trip. We decided to get drinks and an appetizer at Toro before heading to our actual reservations, because we were staying in the attached hotel. Two separate tables became irate. One couple particularly expressed, "If I were to k*ll anyone, it would be them." Referring to myself and two friends. At that time the manager, Oscar came over and informed us that they would no longer be serving us for the night. While Oscar was speaking to us, the same couple continued to escalate the situation by saying "I'll smear sh*t on their face." Oscar clearly heard them as he was in the vicinity our table. Oscar still adamantly expressed that we must leave after we just received death threats and severe acts of racial profiling. The guest who were threatening and clearly were the ones causing the scene were allowed to stay. Let me mention that I am of mixed Hispanic and middle eastern decent, my other friend is black, and the other El Salvadorian; I feel like I need not mention anything further regarding the udder disrespect from this establishment. I see why this place has just 3.7 stars in such an affluent location.

I recently stayed at the Viceroy when visiting Snowmass, so I had breakfast at Toro multiple times, and dinner there one night. Breakfast: Good, but not great considering how expensive it is. I ordered the granola twice, avocado toast, and the breakfast sandwich. The granola is a huge portion, I guess to justify the $20 cost. As someone who is a huge granola lover, it is a bit telling that I consider that portion too large. It tasted great, but I just don't like that the rest of it would go to waste. The first time I ordered it, I asked to bring the granola back in a takeaway box and because it was surrounded by yogurt, it became soggy and inedible after a few hours. The avocado toast was kind of bland and the avocado was not ripe. The sandwich was pretty good, I have no complaints. Dinner here was better. The food is delicious: we enjoyed the ceviche, scallops, and quinoa bowl. One downside of Toro is the fact each dish cost so much. Granted, this restaurant is located in a luxury ski resort, but the prices were a bit outrageous, considering the food wasn't even that great, especially breakfast. Additionally, for each meal, 20% gratuity was charged. This brings up the bigger issue: the service. From our experience, the employees here aren't the best in terms of customer service. For example, the night we went to dinner we politely asked if we could move to a different table. The lady said it was "reserved" and throughout our whole dining experience, nobody sat there. We also witnessed a couple who were asked to move their table for the same issue because they were incorrectly escorted to a "reserved" table. For breakfast, I ordered the avocado toast. I think the true title on the menu was smoked salmon avocado toast. I guess because I didn't say smoked salmon avocado toast, the waiter thought I didn't want smoked salmon. When I asked where the smoked salmon was, instead of just apologizing and bringing it out for me, he started arguing that I ordered the avocado toast without smoked salmon when there was only one option to order. I wasn't upset by this interaction, but I just feel like it's basic customer service protocol to just listen to the customer and not argue, especially when it's over a simple addition that can be easily fixed. Because service wasn't the best, it was annoying we automatically were giving them 20%. Maybe service is less accommodating knowing they are guaranteed that much no matter what. Because of my mediocre experience, I can't say I would recommend this place. Unless you're staying at the hotel and dining here for convenience, I wouldn't advise anyone to purposefully dine here. While the dinner food was good, I'm sure you could fine much better food at that price point in Snowmass and definitely in Aspen proper.

Terrible service! The "manager" Goro or Goru is incompetent, unprofessional and extremely rude. I am not sure how he manages to even tie his shoes in the morning. The staff did not want to seat us when we arrived when more than 50% of their tables were vacant. We received a paper at check in of our stay at the Viceroy that breakfast was until 11am and when we arrived at 10:30am they refused to seat us and said breakfast ended at 10:30am. We proceeded to show them the paper the hotel gave us and they acknowledged they were wrong but still refused to seat us. We asked to speak with the manager and when we did, he did not provide any explanations, other than "no, I don't care what the paper says, you need to leave because we will not seat you".

5 stars for food, ambiance, and views. 3 stars for service Situated in the stunning Viceroy Snowmass hotel, Toro Kitchen & Lounge boasts incredible panoramic mountain views and a very classy, yet cozy interior ambiance. There are options for dining by the windows or on the balcony for those who would like to enjoy the views while dining. We ordered the salmon entree, guacamole, sweet corn empanadas, lobster mac and cheese, truffle fries, grilled broccolini and asparagus, the kids' pizza, and margarita. Everything tasted delicious, but we especially enjoyed the perfectly grilled, tender, flavorful salmon and the sweet corn empanadas, which were perfectly paired with avocado purée and chimichurri. Service was average. There is definitely room for improvement here. Overall, highly recommended for those looking for a classy dining experience with beautiful views.

Avoid this place! The customer service is awful! We were charged a $100 fee for cancelling a reservation when my wife became ill. The next day we confirmed she had COVID! Hence, we did the right thing by not going to the restaurant and potentially infecting others. I had two follow up calls with the restaurant and they refused to reverse the cancellation charge. They would not let me speak with the Manager and, despite my requests, he/she refused to call me back. I will never go again.

Food was amazing. Flavorful and cooked perfect. Service was nice and the ambiance was unique and comfortable.

The food and service were mediocre at best... I don't understand all the hype. Absolutely nothing special about this place but the view. I did enjoy sitting next to the fireplace but the prices are insane for the quality of food served. This is just another cliche hotel restaurant trying to be a foodie place.

If you have food allergies, beware. The menu inperson and online are not annotated correctly- ask lots of questions. Burger was good for hubbie, chicken dish great but was $49. Overall would skip but there are limited options on the mountain.

I went to Toro with 9 other people last night for a business dinner. Originally there was supposed to be 11 of us and we were worried we would get charged for a person dropping out, but the manager Oscar, told us we were good and gave us a warm welcome. He took us to our table, gave us drink suggestions and made us feel really welcomed. Dinner was amazing, and even though we had a great server, Oscar kept an eye on us and made sure we had everything we needed. My drink was never empty! Overall, this was an amazing experience and Oscar made it soo much better, it is always great to have an attentive manager. I highly recommend this place.

Terrible service, waited 25 min for dessert that never came. Waitress was rude and totally unapologetic. Despite this, we were forced to pay a 20% "service charge"!! (misguided restaurant policy) Since the waitstaff know they're getting a 20% tip even if their service sucks, no wonder this was one of the few restaurants in Snowmass where you could get a reservation on a moments notice, and despite this it was half full. Finally, we never received a text or email confirmation as promised. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, eat there only as a last resort....

Great view of valley from Toro. Recommend the ceviche as a starter. Ordered their specialty Pork Chop and Salmon for entres and they were excellent and full of flavor. Great service and friendly staff.

This was the best meal we've had while in Snowmass! We had the bison burger, ahi taquitos and quinoa bowl. All were 5 star dishes! Will, our server, gave us impeccable service. The smoked old fashion drink presentation as well as the food was beautifully presented. I highly recommend Toro for a very nice and special place for dinner.

Best restaurant I have been in a while. The food was amazing, ceviche, oysters, octopus and the fish were perfect. When I go to a restaurant I want the best and this is the best I have had in a while in Aspen and Snowmass. The service (slow) and the lighting (too bright) need improvement but choosing this place for our anniversary was the right choice. Thank you, Selma

I came back again to the Viceroy to do some mountain biking and experience the Aspen trees changing to their fall colors. During my stay I had occasion to eat at this excellent restaurant for both breakfast lunch and dinner on different days. The food is always super in a staff was always amazing. Tonight I had the prime cuts of their fillet steak end it is always the best you could find in All of Colorado. The other meats are also just as good-I know because I've sampled them all.

Decor of the restaurant was great! Servers were warm, friendly and courteous. We wanted to have a night out and decided to try Toro and it was an excellent choice. From start to finish was great. Food, cocktails, wine, and service were all on point! Def a great team and even better food!

This spot is awesome! Had the short ribs which were absolutely incredibly. The appetizers we had were the chips and guacamole which were pretty good, and the ceviche. The sides we had were the lobster Mac and cheese which was ok, the Brussels sprouts which were amazing, the truffle fries which were ok, and the mushrooms which were ok. If I were only rating the short ribs this would be 6/5

Well it is an upscale restaurant inside the viceroy but seriously the food was mediocre for the hype and price. If you are staying in viceroy, it's perfect just take the elevator and walk in but if you are coming in from outside they have valet parking available too. I ordered the Toro Bison Burger and my better half got the cast iron chicken. Well, quantity wise the chicken wasn't bad but the taste wasn't anything exemplary that you would expect, mushrooms were burnt to death, no sauce/gravy and the price was $32. I have had better food for that price. The burger was also meh experience, technically if anyone would have substituted bison with beef you won't be able to tell, just an ordinary burger with expensive price tag and nothing innovative. Ambiance and the decor was A+ (loved it) but food and price not so much maybe B-. Ohh by the way, FYI irrespective of party size they automatically add 20% gratuity to your bill.

My husband and I made a 7:30pm reservation two weeks prior to visiting. They lost the reservation but were able to seat us anyway. Here's a timeline: 7:30-seated 7:40-offered water 7:50-waitress came by to take our drink and appetizer orders 8:00-waitress comes back because she can't remember which drinks we ordered 8:10-drinks! we ordered another appetizer and another round of drinks because we could tell it was going to take a while but weren't quite ready to order entrees 8:15-appetizer 1 arrives. No silverware. 8:20-hostess(!) realizes we don't have silverware, drops some off nonchalantly. 8:30-2nd round of drinks and 2nd appetizer arrive. 8:35-noticed that other parties around us were visibly frustrated by the lack of service; started debating leaving for another restaurant so we could eat dinner earlier 8:45-finally asked for the check 8:55-got out of there To be clear, this was not our waitress' issue; it seemed to be a front of house management issue. The hostess was running double duty as a waitress in the bar area, which meant guests were coming in and asking the only employee they could find--the bartender--for seating, which got him backlogged on drinks...it was a mess. The sad thing is that the appetizers (ceviche and pulpo) were truly delicious and we were sad to miss out on the entree; for the food, I added another star to this review. We tried to talk to a manager on the way out, but he clearly didn't care about our experience because we weren't staying at the Viceroy.

I had the pleasure of having two EXCELLENT meals at Toro Kitchen & Lounge. The first was a dinner meal with a group of friends. I ordered the Burrata Salad to start and a Spicy Jalapeño Margarita. The salad was THE BEST Burrata salad I have ever eaten! The pickled watermelon bites and bacon jam were an amazing compliment to the silky, salty Burrata. For my main course I had the Salmon which was also delicious. I'd ordered the whipped potatoes instead of the cauliflower purée but somehow ended up with it anyway but I wasn't disappointed. I was so full I didn't get to try one of the desserts on the menu but I'd hoped to leave room for the Churros. The next morning I came back and had the Huevos Rancheros which was also very tasty. The dish was well balanced with the reds and green salsas and my eggs (I chose scrambled) were perfectly cooked. The next time I am in Aspen I definitely plan to dine there again even if I don't stay at the Viceroy. Toro is perfect for a romantic dinner or a night out with friends. 5 Stars in my book!

Great atmosphere and extensive menu. I dine at Toro regularly and am impressed with their menu. My favorites include the tuna taquitos, the citrus crusted scallops, lobster tacos, Skuna Bay Salmon, Cast Iron Chicken and the bone-in Rib Eye. For desert the La Bomba will delight everyone at your table. I cannot say enough good things about Toro. Free valet parking is available..

Great restaurant inside a five-star hotel in Snowmass Village. My hubby and I did a order to go due to the COVID dine-in restrictions and it was great. I spoke over the phone to Elizabeth which was very nice to me texting me the revised menu. We ordered their 18-ounce rib eye steak which was fantastic! So tender, juicy and well seasoned! Definitely worth the fifty bucks. Then we ordered the chicken noodle soup (they could have put a little bit more but that's okay), and two size: grilled broccoli and 3-way potatoes. Everything was excellent. Including the kindness of the service. Just a tip for the future: please put some silverware/utensils in the box to go. ;)

Manager went out of her way to accommodate us while they were also serving dinner to a large wedding party. Food and cocktails were excellent!

Disappointing meal tonight. + -- Street corn with powdered cheese--good flavors and an unusual, interesting texture -- Octopus dish with potato salad: a weird pairing but octopus was cooked perfectly and the potato salad worked. --Service: Megan was friendly and attentive. - --Flank steak: cooked to temperature we ordered (medium rare) but way too salty. We sent it back. --Cod: cooked well but seasoning was way off--the dish was salty to the point of being inedible. We sent this back too. --Tofu stir fry: bland and dry. Needed a sauce or some flavoring. We had a bad meal at Toro when they first opened in December. Now that it has been half a year they should have their act together but clearly do not. I'd be more inclined to give them another shot if they weren't so expensive. Il Poggio is a way better dining option in Snowmass with entrees at least 15-20% less than Toro.

Went to Toro last night with my wife. She had been there a couple of times and raved about the meals. Let me tell you, it was better than she said! We started with the 2 special appetizers. First the shrimp and it was just the right amount of spicy. We also had the scallops in lime butter sauce, they had a fabulous citrus kick! For entrees, we had a cod miso that was better than Matsuhisa and lamb chops that are the best in the valley. Dessert was a chocolate moose cake and coconut tapioca. They were tasty and well presented. Alberto, the chef, made the rounds to all the tables. Something you don't get out here often. We told him that no one in aspen is doing better than you right now! We will definitely go back!!!!!

Toro restaurant is located in the center of town in Snowmass (right next to the village) at the Viceroy Snowmass Hotel. It offers stunning views and a very elegant dinning room. They have an extensive menu, great cocktails, wonderful wine list and excellent, friendly, attentive service. We were a family of five dining during the Winter Holiday and it was a great experience...tried many appetizers and mains and enjoyed them all. Restaurant felt intimate and we really enjoyed the tuna ceviche, octopus and 18oz Ribeye, as well as the awesome churros for dessert. Great five star experience, and worth a visit while in Snowmass.

Meh. I am a fan of Viceroy but this place sucks ass. One would think with such a limited menu, execution would be better. Not. With all of the changes that Viceroy SnowMass has had in the past year, this is not one of the positive ones compared to 8K. The bar has gone down a level, with flat tonic water and drinks made by a person seemingly learning their trade. It shouldnt be hard to get a decent margarita at a Mexican themed restaurant, even on Superbowl Weekend - but it is here. Try the beet salad that is mostly lettuce. The undercooked wings. Or the god awful empanadas, which are better for $4 up at Francescas. The Nachos with movie theatre quality cheese. There are only so many times one can order the short rib tacos before you realize this place is utter sh*t. Thank god something is opening across the street in time for our next visit. As a Viceroy Snowmass lover, I was not happy to be trapped eating at Toros for another two 3-night weekends. Seriously.

Went for dinner with my girlfriend and I highly recommend this restaurant if you are visiting Snowmass. Excellent food and service. Chef Alberto came by, greeted us and made a few recommendations. The Grilled Octopus was my favorite, a must-try. I also enjoyed the cod, ceviche and flat iron steak. They have a great selection of wines as well. Will definitely visit again.

Awful. Terrible service and food was mediocre to terrible depending on the dish. I truly hate to be so negative but I'm appalled by what this restaurant gives you for the price. Lobster quesadilla was dIve-bar quality. Kale salad was dry and unimaginative. I seriously recommend you go elsewhere.

Great job on Thanksgiving Dinner, cool atmosphere, great staff and excellent food. Great views of the mountain as you eat. Perfect.

$$$+ this is a very pricey restaurant however the food and drinks were delicious. The cocktails average at about $20 and each main dish is about $40, if you get steak is about $60. We sat at the bar and the place wasn't busy so service was great and the staff are friendly.

The restaurant is beautiful and large with a nice outdoor patio with great views. We sat inside because it was cold. It was family friendly and the food was very delicious. Service was great too. Would recommended.

Nice atmosphere and good happy hour food. Part of the Richard Sandoval empire so you can't go wrong. Service was slow during happy hour.

Started with chips and guac which was pretty good. I ordered the salmon which was fantastic but it came with nothing else other than a smidgeon of some kinda veggie sauce like substance. Just really think it's not too much to ask for some kind of sides with your main entree. Also no good bread always loses you at least one star in my book.

Lets make this short and simple.......food is okay bit the service is on another tier of shameful mockery. Yes I realize that english is a second language for most of the staff, but when it gets to the point of mistaking a simple refill order with a hamburger and forgetting an whole steak that was ordered, it seem that the staff needs to rethink their decisions in the waiter/waitress department.
