Chef Richard Sandoval Is on a Mission to Save the Bees | Eater Austin

"This Fort Worth restaurant is participating in the Viva Abejas dinner series, offering the chef’s bee-focused tasting menu through Earth Day. Dishes emphasize ingredients reliant on pollinators (from grilled avocado preparations with bee pollen to honey-glazed proteins and citrus-forward sweets) and incorporate local honeys that change character by location. Cocktails and a flambeed orange sauce use Alma Finca liquor inspired by visits to the orchards that supply it, and part of the revenue raised is donated to the World Bee Project as part of a broader educational and sustainability initiative." - Courtney E. Chef Richard Sandoval’s Toro Toro Will Open in Downtown Houston | Eater Houston

"A chic new seafood-and-steak restaurant from Richard Sandoval, self-described as the “father of modern Mexican cuisine,” is slated to open in the Four Seasons Hotel in Downtown Houston in Fall 2021, replacing the hotel’s former third-floor Italian restaurant, Quattro. Called Toro Toro—a play on the Japanese term for tuna (toro) and the Spanish word for bull—the concept promises a playful, modern twist on the classic steakhouse with South and Central American influences and will be the brand’s second Texas location after Fort Worth. Guests can expect churrasco-grilled meats, antojitos and tapas, fresh ceviches and tiraditos, and menu items hinted at by the Fort Worth location such as a massive 52-ounce tomahawk steak, roasted Brussels sprouts with white raisins and cojita cheese, Peruvian-style chicken anticucho, and a burger with bacon jam and chipotle-cranberry cheddar. The restaurant will feature an open kitchen with a wood-burning grill, an extensive Spanish and Latin wine list, hand-muddled cocktails like margaritas and mojitos, and private dining spaces for events; renovations are currently in progress with plans to open later this year." - Brittanie Shey

Pickling Pro Josh Harmon Plots Two Eateries Inside the Belmont Hotel | Eater Dallas

"An upcoming Pan-Latin steakhouse is slated to open in downtown Fort Worth inside the Worthington Renaissance Hotel around November; it will be the brand’s sixth location and first in Texas, bringing a fusion-focused menu that highlights seafood, steaks, and empanadas and importing a popular $39-per-person unlimited brunch concept featuring items like pork belly Benedict and huevos rancheros alongside unlimited Bloody Marys, margaritas, and mimosas." - Tierney Plumb

*** Review is specifically regarding Xmas Brunch. *** Vibe & Atmosphere The restaurant is located inside of an upscale hotel. The vibe is relaxed. Food * Yellow Tail Tuna Maracuya - onions and pico adorn this item a and give it a little spice that's very delish. * Bison Tiradito - a sauce added a very nice flavor to the meat. * Chipotle Devil Eggs - the addition of chipotle took these over the top with the perfect blend of spices. A piece of bacon on top was the icing on this cake. * Smoke Wagyu Picahna - meat was very tender and grilled to perfection. * Beef Anticuchos - these had a small kick of spice to them. Wonderful! * Marinated Prime Rib - disappointing. Meat was very dry and bland. * Pork Belly Arepas - these had a tiny bit of egg and bacon on top. The bottoms of these were also crispy and flavorful. * Churro French Toast - very sweet and our perception of what French Toast cake should be. * Honey Cheesecake - a little bland, not very sweet. ---------- * Mercado Margarita - the perfect mix of tequila and jalapenos to build a spicy and enjoyable drink. * Merlot Red Wine - the Merlot was identical to a bottle we bought in Napa. A very strong wine flavor dominated the glass. Service Service was in-line with this price point. Our greeter was Alicia and she created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The first waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu selections. He asked the right questions to narrow down a recommendation that turned out to be perfect. Price & Value The meal was advertised at $95/person. While we understand the above-average prices for our drinks, we were disappointed in the food quality and selection, especially at this price point. We were also unaware that gratuity is included, by default, and billed at approximately 28%. Final Verdict Toro Toro might be suitable for dinner, or other non-holiday meals. We'll not return for a holiday meal.

If you’re looking for a place to turn an ordinary night into something memorable, here is the perfect spot. From the beautifully plated dishes to the warm ambience, every detail feels thoughtfully crafted. The lamb chops are incredibly tender with a rich smoky aroma, the crispy prawns come layered with fresh greens and just the right touch of spice, and the grilled chicken bursts with flavor alongside vibrant. It’s the kind of place where every plate surprises you.

The bar at Toro Toro is always a must whenever I’m in Fort Worth! The drinks are creative, flavorful, and one-of-a-kind! The Mercado Margarita is an absolute must-try! Hands down the best burger in town. The Cubano is another solid choice too! Both great quality, incredible taste, and that perfect old Fort Worth vibe throughout the place!

Toro Toro in Fort Worth is an absolute gem! The food was outstanding—beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The ambiance is elegant yet welcoming, perfect for a night out. Staff were warm, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. From start to finish, we had a fantastic time and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food, atmosphere, and service!

Went for a lovely birthday dinner for my wife and I'm so glad we did! From the ambiance to the food, and even the great customer service by Emily (more to come on her), everything was perfect! We booked reservations and we were seated right away. Also note, valet is free when dining and getting validation. The ambiance was so cool, top shelf bar, awesome decor, and the grill in the middle made everything so cool to look at. We had the pleasure of getting Emily as our server. Her poise and aura was such a vibe. She recommended the corn empanadas and they were fire! We all ordered delicious entrees, and when she found out it was my wife's birthday, they even brought out a shot for her! He was so sweet and made the entire dining experience a wonderful one! We ended with churros and a tres leches cake and we were so happy! This is definitely a spot to hit up! Ask for Emily when you do go bc she's attentive, has great recommendations and totally will set the vibe right! Great experience overall it Toro Toro!

I don’t typically leave reviews—especially negative ones—but I wanted to share feedback in hopes it helps improve future guest experiences. We attended the New Year’s Eve dinner, which was priced at $150 per person for a five-course meal. We have no issue paying that price point when the food and service align with the cost; unfortunately, that wasn’t the case during our visit. The preset menu was very heavy on fish and shellfish, with the only meat option being an 8-ounce wagyu. While there’s nothing wrong with seafood, the overall balance of the courses felt limited. The wagyu, oysters, and dessert were decent, but none of the courses truly stood out or felt memorable. My recommendation would be to re-evaluate preset menus in the future to offer more variety, especially at this price level. From a service standpoint, both the bar and restaurant appeared understaffed. Our server asked once if we wanted a drink, but during the two hours we were there, we were never asked again. Our waters were also not refilled, despite requesting refills multiple times. The atmosphere was the strongest part of the experience. The aesthetic and overall vibe were enjoyable and likely the only aspect I would rate at a four-star level. Overall, the quality of both the food and service did not reflect the cost of the experience. I hope this feedback is helpful as you evaluate ways to improve moving forward.

My husband came here on date night and had such a wonderful experience. The ambiance is moody yet bright with excellent customer and attentive staff. We at the mini tomahawk that came with a surprising table side experience that included charring the meat and having the options to be slathered with rosemary butter. The meat was a little bit overcooked from the medium plus we ordered so next time we might order medium to prevent the overcooking. The Brussels sprouts are to die for!! 10/10 recommend to perfection. We ordered the truffle fries and sent them back because we were not a huge fan. The guacamole was fresh and bright and the tuna ceviche was my absolute favorite. It had blast of flavors with the mango and jalapeño mix it contained. 10/10!! I cannot recall the drinks we had but I included a picture for reference. It was so so so refreshing and I had to stop myself from ordering one more. Overall excellent experience!

Google
We love everything about this restaurant. Our most recent visit was for our anniversary dinner. Once again, everything was perfect. We started with a complimentary glass of champagne, always a nice touch. Our choices for the evening included the Heirloom Tomato and Burrata salad, a perfect blend with watermelon, hearts of palm, baby arugula, pepito pesto, and balsamic glaze. The Crispy Brussel Sprouts with cojita cheese, golden raisins, and sherry vinaigrette melted in my mouth, and was the perfect accompaniment to the Star of the dinner, The Tomahawk Ribeye for 2. The presentation was impressive, the flavor fabulous. It was accompanied by bone marrow butter and flamed with mezcal. A robust Cabernet Savignon was perfect compliment. Perfect evening again.

Yelp
Wow wow wow. I am amazed with what I just ate. Food: I had the churrasco and eggs. The different flavor profiles on this were amazing. And to top it off, one of the best cuts of meat I've had in a long time. The flavor was insane! Drink: Old fashioned was on point Service: Julian is the GM and also was covering the bar. Friendliest guy you could imagine. Recommended the food. Ambiance: It's the Worthington. Come on!

Yelp
FOOD INSTAGRAM- @northtx.gemz **** WHAT THEY'RE KNOWN FOR: known steakhouse with locations in Miami and Houston and various other locations as well. THE VIBE: upscale country- inside of western renaissance hotel of Fort Worth. PRICE: ~$200 for two- pretty pricy but it was a bday dinner! WOULD I COME BACK? Maybe. **** Overall Rating: 7.5/10 - I recall my friends saying it was probably an off day for this restaurant because they had been here before and said it was phenomenal so I believe them! - The steak was okay, it was good but not great! The truffle fries were actually the star of the show because they used cojita cheese melted on top with aji tartar and pickled chili. This was an elevated fry dish that was worth the money and visit. - Skip the ahi tuna tacos idk why I got them they sounded good but were mediocre. - Octopus anticucho was pretty good! - Overall, restaurant wasn't bad but I feel like this day it wasn't worth the money!

Yelp
Inside The Worthington Renaissance hotel, best to valet your vehicle and get your ticket validated at the hostess station. Our party of 3 arrived on a Sunday around 5:15 without a reservation and were seated right away. Bea was our server; she was friendly and efficient. My Smoking Bull old fashioned and Ribeye Chicharrón were so delicious. The steak was flavorful and tender and the components blended nicely together.

Yelp
I can confidently say this was the best brunch of my life! Brunch is a four course meal where you only select your entree (the third course). Your tastebuds will be delighted with every course, plus you have so many dishes to taste, but you have to pace yourself and only sample items along the way so you can get to the fourth and final dessert course. The chef also came out to the table towards the end of the meal to talk to us and we had such a pleasant conversation! If I could give more than five stars, I would. Everything was exceptional! I also had leftovers for days! This restaurant is part of an upscale Marriott Renaissance hotel and an experience everyone should try at least once in their lifetime.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate a successful weekend. My wagyu picanha was cooked to the medium rare temp I had requested and was seasoned perfectly. The guacamole was good but not the best I've had. The truffle fries were decent but didn't blow me away. The spectacle of the la bomba dessert was fun while the dessert itself was yummy. The three ice cream flavors were each different, creamy and the right level of sweetness. The fruit complemented the chocolate shell as well. It did take some time for our server to come back around to us, but she was friendly and helpful when we asked questions about the menu. Out was really cool to see the massive grill when you walk through the restaurant. I'd probably come back for the dessert.

Yelp
My second time going here and it was even better than the first. We went for the churasscaria that can be shared between 2 people. It comes with wagyu, ribeye, lamb chops and chicken as well as delicious salt and chimichurri sauce. It was great and very flavorful. We also had the corn empanadas which were nice and sweet but not overly powering and the corn on the empanadas was perfect. Lastly we had the La bomba which is served on a plastic mat on the table. It is full of all types of flavors and treats from brownies to ice cream. Highly recommend trying this place out for a date night or get together with friends. Also their bar is large and offers food as well.

Yelp
We went for the brunch on Saturday. My brother had tried a sister restaurant in DC by the same chef. The restaurant is located in a hotel with nice ambience and had aDJ. There was free valet parking, which was a nice touch. We grabbed drinks at the bar while we waited for the rest of our party. Cocktails were really good. We were seated promptly for our reservation time. We ordered from the prefixed brunch menu there were so many small plates. We got full after the second round and had to take the rest of it to go. Service was just OK. There were times where we wondered where was our server even though the restaurant was slow. Overall the food was disappointing lacked flavor, but A+ for creativity. While we were happy to try a new restaurant it wouldn't be one that we would return to.

Yelp
This place is so good. Went for a friends birthday and everything was great. The place is beautiful. The staff are nice, quick and attentive. The food!!! Amazing. I was able to taste the octopus, lamb chops, shrimp cocktail, steak and brussel sprouts. Every single thing was good. I will definitely be back!!

Yelp
This might be my new favorite place in DFW! Every dish was flavorful and beautiful! We had Amarillo ceviche, guacamole, Taramind Mezcalita, Mercado Margarita (as a mocktail), 32oz mini tomahawk and potatoes three ways. The tomahawk is flambed tabelside with mezcal and then finished with bone marrow butter brushed on with rosemary, resulting in a smoky, complex flavor. The service was attentive and made great recommendations to help us navigate the menu. The server was knowledgeable about what items are already gluten free and what items can be made so by removing a sauce, etc. Even though the restaurant is in a hotel lobby, it's tucked back away from the hotel registration and still feels intimate. Free valet made for a nice experience as well to not have to find parking downtown. We walked to Sundance Square after dinner, and it's a very easy and nice walk.
google avatar

Becca J.

Yelp
Nice hotel restaurant right in the Renaissance hotel lobby, we were seated right away on a Saturday night without reservations for a table of two. We ordered the Amarillo ceviche and sweet corn empanadas to start. Both good, I preferred the ceviche but there was a lot going on flavor wise with the empanadas that was interesting - aji Amarillo, guac and chimichurri. I liked that the ceviche came with some thin slice and salted banana chips. Cusco chicken plate had a great flavor! Smoky and spiced which paired well with the potatoes and acidity of the criolla. Picanha was cooked just right and great with the chimi. Would recommend for a nice date night out downtown.

Yelp
Great experiences both at the extensive bar area and in the back dining area. We've utilized the long semi-private tables to host group dinners and these events have been great. The restaurant and hotel both carry an upscale reputation in Fort Worth - often the host hotel for major events including the PBR tour and Colonial golf tournament. Special shout-out to restaurant manager Lexi and her staff who take pride in their work and serving great food. Food / Service / facilities / attention to details - 10/10. Great visit!

Yelp
This was one of my best restaurant experiences when I visited Fort Worth. This is a neat steak house and I would definitely come back. I came with a group and the service was amazing. They attended to everyone in the group's needs quickly and the staff was friendly. The mercado margaritas was good. The Camarillo ceviche, crispy prawns, the sweet corn empanadas, and the Colorado lamb chops were really good. The decor was really cute and modern.

Yelp
Came here on a whim with a visiting friend and absolutely enjoyed my experience, although I wish we had better seating it didn't take away from the beauty of this place. The food was fresh and made to order, absolutely delicious and my drink was okay but not to much to mention. I would definitely come back, the hostess mentioned a wonderful brunch I would love to try.

Yelp
Okay this place deserves all the hype! It is elegant, clean, classy, and beautiful. Customer service is amazing, we were seated within minutes. I had two tamarind mezcalitas and they were smoky, strong, and delicious. Not to mention the amarillo ceviche which was flavorful. My snapper zarandeado was to die for as well. I had higher expectations of the mac and cheese with pork belly but that plate was rather disappointing in my opinion as there was no flavor to it. However, we will be back!

Yelp
We had a wonderful time celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. Cocktails were tasty & the meal was great. Our favorite was the Colorado Lamb Chops & Brussels Sprouts.

Yelp
We had a great time at Toro Toro before heading to the hotel's roof for a showing at the Rooftop Cinema Club. It was really easy to make a reservation online. Checking in was a little more confusing as there was a huge wedding cocktail hour occurring and the host's stand was hidden behind the crowds. The menu is expensive, but the food is good and the service is even better. Our server, Emily, was phenomenal. We ordered one of each side dish to split for the table. The mac and cheese, sprouts, and potatoes 3 ways were standouts. Valet parking is complimentary if you dine here, so you don't have to worry about finding a parking spot. While this won't be a regular place on my rotation, it is nice for a special occasion or girl's night.
google avatar

Emily T.

Yelp
Pros: this place is very nice with a dim environment. You get complimentary valet parking in front of the hotel. My ribeye steak was super tender and the chimichurri sauce and the accompanying red sauce was delicious. Our server, Emily was very attentive and nice. Cons: I got an espresso martini that unfortunately tasted watered down possibly when it was shaken with ice. The Amarillo ceviche was good however it was served with very stale tortilla chips. Their lomo saltado also isn't traditional, it was a very small portion on a big plate and was garnished with a lot of shredded vegetables. Lastly the restrooms are upstairs!! You need to take the stares or the elevator which is such a hassle. Very nice and fancy restaurant. I did expect a little more from them being that everything on the menu was pricy.

Yelp
A Must-Try at Toro Toro: Octopus Antojito & Outstanding Service I had the pleasure of dining at Toro Toro, and let me just say; the octopus antojito was the star of the show. Perfectly cooked with a melt-in-your-mouth tenderness, it defied the usual chewy reputation of octopus. Each bite delivered an explosion of flavor; savory, with a subtle kick of spice that added depth without overpowering the dish. It was beautifully plated. The ambiance was so relaxing.

Yelp
The start of the night at Toro Toro was not the best. Even though I had a reservation for 8:30, my party was not seated until 9:15pm. The staff members were really nice and kind, but it took several reminders that we were waiting in the lobby for them to finally sit us at a table. While the night did not start on a high, the night was turned around after finally arriving at our table. Our server Alejandro and the food elevated the entire experience at Toro Toro. Both appetizers, the octopus and the sweet corn empanadas, were delicious. If you don't love mustard, don't order the octopus because the potato salad on the side definitely tasted like it had mustard in there. Besides that, the charred octopus was a 10/10. The sweet corn empanadas were a solid 9/10. Onto the entree and sides, we decided on the 32oz mini tomahawk rib eye (serves 2-3). Honestly the best decision because it was phenomenal! We also got the potatoes three ways and the pork belly Mac and cheese. I think both sides were okay 7/10. I wish the Mac and cheese had more cheese and sauce, and the potatoes three ways did not quite live up to the hype. For dessert, we got the tres leche cake and it was soooo good! 1000% recommend getting the tres leche cake. Drinks: We had a couple but the top 2 were the rodeo clown (light, refreshing) and the tamarind (if you love a sweet drink, this one is perfect for you). Overall, great food and ambiance at the restaurant, just wished the we were seated at the time of our reservation.

Yelp
3 out of 5 Stars - Toro Toro Fort Worth Where to begin... You're literally eating dinner in what feels like a hotel lobby. I came to celebrate a birthday, and not once did the waiter acknowledge it even after we mentioned the occasion. I get more attention and a better "birthday experience" at Texas Roadhouse, where they actually make you feel special. Now, the food itself was great fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. No complaints there. But the overall atmosphere just didn't match the quality of the dishes. It felt loud, open, and not very intimate, especially for a celebration. For the price point and the reputation, I expected a more elevated environment and better customer service. Overall, a solid spot if you're only focused on the food. But if you're looking for an experience or a place to celebrate something meaningful, this might not be the best choice.

Yelp
My husband and I came for restaurant week with some friends. The food was delicious and the experience and service were great! We were uncharged for our bottle of wine, which is the only reason for the 4/5 stars. I loved trying new places and Toro Toro was a great experience.

Yelp
The empanadas are unreal. Worth the visit. Wonderful cocktail menu. The service was great. The menu was not massive and definitely taste specific. Parking can be tough so plan ahead. I highly recommend a reservation.

Yelp
Family went there for Thanksgiving. Food was cold. Turkey was drizzled with a white tasteless "gravy ". Mashed potatoes also tasteless. Asparagus was cooked in something awful--vinegar? Service was poor. Chairs when moved made a horrible loud screeching noise .

Yelp
We had a lovely time with another couple at Toro Toro this past weekend for DFW restaurant week. My husband and I arrived early to have a drink and play cards in the bar. They have delicious margaritas, fresh guacamole, and a fun staff. When our friends arrived, we got seated in the restaurant. Our waitress said that this year's DFW restaurant week menu was not good and that we should order something else off the menu. I would have still ordered from the dfw restaurant week menu had it not been full of gluten. The brussels sprouts and the potatoes three ways were two of my favorite things that we ordered. We wanted the heirloom carrots, but the waitress said they were sold out. That's pretty crazy since we were there before 6 o'clock. Our friends devoured the corn empanadas; so they must've been good. The salmon was cooked perfectly. My friend got three mini tuna tacos and ate them up in record time. We decided to forgo dessert since we were full.

Yelp
Really beautiful atmosphere here at Toro Toro. I always feel kind of fancy being in downtown Fort Worth walking into the iconic Renaissance Hotel, but the experience can also be casual. Brunch, lunch, happy hour, dinner, the lounge. Dress up or not, either way you'll enjoy the lofty ceilings, modern-western-artsy space, and delicious pan-Latin cuisine. I last came for lunch and sat at the bar, my favorite place to sit. My party ordered the tomato burrata salad (I don't believe it's on the menu anymore but it was lovely), blackened tuna tacos, shrimp cocktail aguachile, and a cubano with fries. And of course a couple glasses of wine and an old fashioned or two. The prices are up there but you're paying for the whole experience, the pretty bar, the pretty cocktail glasses, the fresh seafood. My favorite dish was the aguachile: cooked shrimp, aguachile rojo, horseradish, cilantro oil, and avocado. It was really spicy and fresh and had great texture. My blackened tuna tacos were excellent as well, we loved the poblano tartar and tangy vinaigrette. Each taco was about 2-3 small bites. Small but memorable! Toro Toro is known for their churrasco, so I need an occasion to come back for dinner. For $145 you get Brazilian-style wagyu picanha steak, rib eye, bbq chicken thigh, and colorado lamb chops (served with chimichurri, salsa matcha, and grilled shishito peppers). Pair that with a few sides and you have the best meal ever. One day..

Yelp

Yelp
Taco Tuesday this is the place to be, $5 margaritas n 3 tacos for a good price. Vibe is always good, bartenders range lol. But all in all this is my favorite spot to go on a Tuesday!
google avatar

Foodie W.

Yelp
Facilities are very nice. Food was good. However, Bartender was rude and disinterested the minute we came in. Not surprised the place was dead. Then I was charged $4.00 for a tea. Ok it's a hotel restaurant. But then she charged me another $4.00 for a refill on the tea! And failed to mention it was another fee. We eat out downtown once a week but I won't be back to Toro Toro!

Yelp
Honestly. Went on a 1 yr anniversary and was severely disappointed. It was not as good as the raving reviews. Way too overpriced and overall just not a good experience. The server was nice but she is just doing her job. I got the fries (best thing tbh) and the mac n cheese. Fries were 7/10 but not justifying the price. Mac n cheese. Horrible they have no flavor or sauce at that. 2/10 just bc they were cooked. Steak was a mini tomahawk and it was okay. Eh. Mid. Not anything special. I could have gone to tx roadhouse and felt better about my night. My date was a 10/10 tho. Anyhow would never come here

Yelp
Lounge - Super fantastic atmosphere and our server was lovely. I got the Tamarind Mezcalita which was ok. It is very tart (yes, I looked at the description and ingredients) but our server said it has a smoky flavor as well which I thought would tame the acidity. Tasted no smoky flavor and it gave me heartburn. lol. Drink - 2 stars Lounge 5 stars Restaurant - Really nice atmosphere. A little pretentious as expected at this price point but absolutely not over the top eye roll inducing. Atmosphere - 5 stars 2nd Cocktail - Hacienda Bird. Honestly I got this because my sister ordered one in the lounge and it is a bit creamy. I thought it would help my heartburn from the other cocktail AND IT ACTUALLY DID! Aside from that, it was yummy. For me it is a cruise drink. I don't typically order drinks that would be super sweet but the coconut and bitters toned down the sweetness and I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it. 4 stars Entree - I ordered the Picanha which comes with grilled peppers. Serrano I think. The picanha was lovely. Cooked perfect medium rare and the fat cap was rendered to perfection. The peppers, while supposed to be grilled, appeared to have been accidentally dropped onto a grill and hastily picked up. Not a fan of raw peppers generally so I didn't eat them. Picanha - 5 stars Peppers - negative 10 stars Sides - Roasted carrots and Pork Belly Mac and Cheese. The roasted carrots were ok. The purple and orange carrots were pretty good. Cooked to the point that they were tender outside and still had crunch inside. The white carrot was, of course, bigger than the others so the cook was not as good. The flavor was ok but nothing to write home about. Pork belly Mac was DIVINE!! No notes. Plenty of pork belly, noodles were cooked properly, cheese sauce was delicious. Carrots - 2 stars Mac - 5 stars I didn't order dessert but my companions ordered off the Restaurant Week menu so I tried both of the desserts offered there. One is not on the restaurant menu and it's a good thing so I'll just rate the churros. Crunchy exterior, melt in your mouth inside and the perfect amount of cinnamon and sugar. They come with a caramel and a chocolate sauce already poured over. I would prefer sauces on the side but not enough to deduct points. 5 stars Cost of order - $97 for entree, roasted carrots and 2 cocktails. I did not pay for the mac and cheese - one of my dinner peeps paid for that. Overall, it was a nice meal and we do plan on trying their brunch soon. I don't know that I would be back for dinner on my own but I am not sorry that we tried it.

Yelp
I want to talk about service. Toro toro exceeded our expectation. We were recommended by another business near by and decided to go. The server she was attentive and honest in her delivery of the menu. When we asked for one item that was not on the lunch menu the mango crudo not only did they get it for us but the chef came out to the table. The drinks were perfectly crafted, and the food was amazing. Coming from a foodservice background these guys nailed what it means to serve and care for a guest. You can't go wrong eating here any time. I can unsure you we were there on a weekday at 130pm right before the 2pm close time and they did not act put off by us there. In a day we're service is dying these guys rose above.

Yelp
This place was inside a very beautiful hotel and I enjoyed the food and atmosphere here. The service was very nice, not much of a crowd but I'm happy it was nice and not overcrowding. Our waiter was very kind and helpful. Food came out fast, I got the smoked brisket, mashed potatoes, and Brussels sprouts. As an appetizer we had got the guacamole with chips. The guacamole was very fresh tasting and refreshing. I wish it had bit more salt or a some more flavor to add more of a kick to it. The chips were very nice, The texture was perfect and the salt wasn't overpowering. Overall it was a good side to start off with. My boyfriend got the mignon, it didn't come with any sides just the steak. It was a very well made steak. One of the best I personally have had and it was a pretty good cut. The sauce that had sesame seeds was a nice touch to dip your steak in and was really good. My smoke brisket was good and light. It wasn't overpowered with a lot of meat but i enjoyed the sandwich. It had much flavor and was savory. The mashed potatoes were very very good. I honestly loved them, very well made. The texture was nice and smooth but had light chunks of potatoes so it added a nice texture. The Brussel sprouts were nicely made but they were sweet. Overall a nice place for a date or to get some good food. Would recommend trying.

Yelp
Toro Toro was such a VIBE!!! Elegant, upscale without being snobby and the food was TOP TIER! Nestled inside a Ft. Worth hotel, this is a hidden gem and worth a visit. A girlfriend and I almost missed DFW Restaurant Week 2023 so she snagged a Fri night reservation just in time. There was a 3-course menu featuring octopus, wagyu beef skewers, salmon, and multiple dessert options We both ordered cocktails, a little pricey but delicious nonetheless Our server was very helpful and attentive. All in all, a great experience

Yelp
been eyeing this place for quite some time. Glad i was able to try it out during dfw restaurant week. It was 49 bucks a person, and i think it was a nice pre-fixed meal. When you walk in, it looks very hotel like. I'm not sure if this place is associated with the The Worthington Renaissance Fort Worth Hotel. But i like the ambiance quite a bit. We actually got one of everything to try it out, except for the entree.. since i believe there were 3 different selections to choose from. Out of the items, the salmon, wagyu skewers and the churros were my favorite. The Wagyu small bites were super juicy and went well with the puree. The salmon with the roasted potatoes were excellent. The skin on the salmon was crispy and the whole dish was tasty. The Churros were delicious. i like how they used chocolate pop-rocks for additional texture. The dress code is interesting. We saw people dressed up, but we also saw people dining here with tshirts and sandals. One thing to note was the service. They mentioned beforehand that they were short staffed, and our food may take a little bit longer. I'm glad they mentioned it before we ordered so we could adjust our expectations. I'm not sure if this place offers valet parking, but we found parking on the street.

Yelp
I've bumped this down to a four star after eating here a couple of times. Here's my review. Meats: Every time we come here we order the Turo Turo Churasco, some lamp, extra pork chops and one other new meat to try. These meats are usually delicious, well seasoned and tender. Meat gets them a 5 star. Drinks: We have managed to try every drink on their drink menu multiple times. They are all pretty bad, some aren't as bad as others, we managed to find drinks we tolerate and just order them because foods better when you're not sober. However! The hack is, you can just request they make your favorite drink and they'll make it even though it's not on the menu. So whatever you usually drink at a bar, just request it and the bar will make it for you. Problem solved. But their drink menu gets 2 stars. Appetizers: Order the sweet corn empanadas, avoid everything else unless you're feeling fancy. They have some appetizers that are interesting to try but nothing that I would order again, except for the sweet corn empanadas. Dessert: Tried it all, it was all an acquired taste. I am sure someone likes this stuff, but it wasn't to my taste. Things were oddly bitter, weirdly textured, and just not fun to eat. The La Bomba is cool to order once, because the presentation is very... explosive. But, I'm a huge dessert guy and I wouldn't take any of their desserts if it was complimentary. Overall review: The meats were perfect, at least for me. But everything else feel overcomplicated. Sometimes less is more. It almost feels like, apart from the meats, nothing else was put on the menu because it really taste good. I've had better tasting drinks at a local bar, but their drinks have fancy flowers and juice pulp in it. I've had better appetizers are Applebees but they have bison meat and truffle oil on fries. I had their ice cream and the first thing I said was, bluebell taste better. I don't want to pay triple for something just for you to add a couple fancy ingredient but have it taste worst. It's still a good restaurant, just stick to the meats, customize your drink, and grab the sweet corn empanadas. Thank me later.

Yelp
Came here for my anniversary & was sincerely disappointed. Me & my finance got to the restaurant at 7:22 with our reservation set for 7:30. We didn't get seated until 7:45, then took 15 minutes for our waiter to show up, and even longer for us to get water/beverages. The waiter expected us to order our appetizer at the same time as our entrees, then took 20 minutes to get the appetizer, and over 40 minutes to get our entrees, if not more. Our entrees were great, food was good, but service was not. The portions are small, but we knew what we were paying for. Before coming we checked out the menu on the website & saw they had a 10% off coupon if you sign up for the email list. I did this thinking, nice, a little savings will help. We showed the waiter the coupon and he said, "No worries; I got it." Then came back with a physical coupon to sign up for the coupon when I showed him my coupon. We were already running late for our movie thinking 2 hours would be enough time to eat dinner, but apparently not. Also, the bathroom was far, being up an elevator, but the free valet was a huge plus.

Yelp
Brunch was phenomenal!! 10/10 had a list of brunch places to try in the DFW and so glad we went here for brunch today on a Sunday! Everything was good! See pictures! Steak was cooked to perfection, just melted in your mouth! We are definitely coming back sooner than later!

Yelp
I was really excited to go to brunch here for the chef cured menu and all the hype. So, when I got here, I was a bit disappointed. First of all, we were told the coffee machine was down! No espresso with my dessert!!! Anyways, our server was really sweet and she even helped us decide what to order. I had a smoked pepino and it was soooo good. I had to get another one. Then, started with smoke swordfish with plantain & tortillas and omg it was really good. I didn't expect it to be so flavorful just the perfect dip. Then we got arepas, beef anticucho, churrasco & eggs. Everything was great! The beef especially was made to perfection! It was juicy and so much flavor. The arepas were okay, particularly because I don't like corn so would skip it next time. The only dish I was quite disappointed was beef anticucho. These had the correct flavor attempt but it just didn't come together. When you take a bite, It just felt coarse spices against dry, hard to chew on meat, just didn't do it for me.

Yelp
My first time visiting with some girl friends. Nice atmosphere and helpful staff. Acoustics can seem loud depending on location & size of group near you. The menu changes. Entrees are varied with very tasty sides. We loved the brussel sprouts and stuffed avocado. My Spanish Octopus was tender and very tasty. My margarita was refreshing and appealing to the eye. Very spacious and romantic feel.

Yelp
This was an accidental find and we are so glad we came across it! Everyone in our group was super impressed with everything from the look of the restaurant to the food, the service, the drinks the overall vibe was amazing. There are so many different rooms to sit in and seating areas depending on if you want privacy, or what to have a more fun vibe surrounded by people. This is a great spot for date night or to go with a large group. Oh my gosh I am overwhelmed trying to begin to explain how fabulous the food was. I mean everything we ordered was mouth watering and had everyone in our party ohhhh-ing and ahhh-ing. The flavor combinations and the ingredients were so incredible. The steaks were perfectly cooked and seasoned so well, honestly one of the best steaks I have ever had. They came to our table and had a beautiful presentation of seasoning our steaks with and oil rosemary combination with a fire presentation. The server sliced all our meats and made it so easy to eat. The sides, including the empanadas we ordered to start were insane! The only side that came in that was not loved by our group was the pork belly mac and cheese. It did not match the level of flavor of all the other dishes and was just lacking overall. The drinks had to have been made by a drink master because they were absolutely delicious. We are still talking about how amazing it was and how we can't wait to go back! This is a MUST TRY if you are in Downtown Fort Worth. I think they usually take reservations, but we got lucky on a Friday night and got there around 6pm and were instantly sat by the server, we must have gotten super lucky but she did seem very accommodating to get us seated even though we didn't have a reservation.

Yelp
Visiting from out of town and found this restaurant through social media so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant is located in the downtown area. Inside it has the low light, dark ambience to it. Our server was really great and the food was great. We ordered the mac and cheese, cusco chicken, and colorado lamb chops. The food was rich in flavor and the drinks were strong as well. I would return!

Yelp
Unremarkable. We stopped in for dinner. Ambiance was nice, live music, beautiful space. The smell...omg my mouth was watering. Our server was prompt and kind. The managers stopped by to check on us so the service was lovely. Unfortunately, the food doesn't match up to everything else. We had the brisket tacos appetizer which was okay, but a bit salty, the pork belly Mack and cheese on the other hand didn't have a bit of flavor or salt and minimal pieces of pork belly. The salmon was the best dish, perfectly cooked. The beet salad was okay but nothing special. We didn't drink but the bar was packed, so maybe we missed out. Overall, a beautiful space and wonderful service, but we wouldn't return.

Yelp
This is a very nice restaurant. We made reservations for a Friday nigh and were promptly seated. The ambiance was vibrant and noisy. The very friendly staff were able to provide good cocktails recommendations. The menu could use more choices of cocktails but as previously stated our server was happy to help. The food took about an hour to be served but was very good. During that hour was hard to get the attention of our server to order more drinks but to be fair it was a busy night and they were working hard to accommodate all patrons . Maybe adding some staff on busy nights could help. Regardless, we had a good time and happy we got to check Toro Toro.
