Locally owned and now with a second outpost, Toro’ko made the Express-News Top 10 for polished sashimi, chirashi, and indulgent specialty rolls. A strong North Side option for variety and value.

Great service and food, although pricier than expected (compared to Houston prices that I'm used to.) Best option in the area for reasonably priced but still good quality sushi if you're not wanting the lower quality AYCE options that I saw. Serving portions were good. The soft shell crab was nice and not overdone like many places. Nigiri was 5 pieces per order. Drink offerings were decent also.

I’ve ordered delivery three times, and every single time everything was excellent. The food was fresh, delicious, and well packaged — you can really tell they care about quality. I can confidently say that finding truly good sushi in San Antonio is a challenge, and this place is a standout. In my opinion, these are some of the best sushi options in the city. One constructive suggestion for the management: investing in high-quality professional photos and offering larger combo sets could easily double your sales. The potential here is huge, and this would help showcase how good the food really is. Highly recommended — I will definitely continue ordering.

First timers at Toro’ko! It was fantastic and filled us up. We started off with some Spicy Edamame which was not too spicy but had great flavor. Then we got three different rolls for our entree. Toro’ko Special Roll, Stone Oak Roll and the Crunchy Roll. Each of them had a distinct flavor. The Stone Oak roll was my favorite because of the fresh Bluefin Tuna on top. Service and ambience were also very nice.

We visited Toro Ko Sushi in San Antonio during a baseball tournament, drawn by its high Yelp ratings. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing, both in terms of service and the quality of the sushi, which was not worth the price. When we arrived, the restaurant was nearly empty, so we expected prompt service. However, as more customers arrived and were seated, their food was served while we waited over 30 minutes without any updates. Our server seemed to ignore us, and when I finally asked about our order, he vaguely responded that they were “still working on a couple of rolls” but assured us they would be out soon. I requested that they start bringing out the completed rolls, as there was no reason to let them sit and lose freshness. Additionally, we had to ask for plates, as the server appeared unaware of basic table setup before food arrived. After finishing our meal, we had to request the check because the server repeatedly passed by without asking if we needed anything else. When we received the bill, we were shocked to see an automatic 20% gratuity added, justified by the server because our party consisted of five people. In my opinion, a tip should be earned through excellent service, which was far from the case here. To make matters worse, later that night, I received an email with my credit card receipt showing an additional $20 tip added by the server. When we called to address this, we were told it was a “clerical error.” Overall, the poor service, mediocre sushi, and questionable billing practices made this a highly disappointing experience. We will not be returning.

Wow! Outstanding food service! The sushi was delicious! This was different! A different combination of flavor that is completely new to me. Oscar and two brothers have truly mastered this art. This joint is a true hidden gem 💎 in Stone Oak. Toroko is my new go-to Sushi 🍣 joint. It's small, but that's a good thing. It keeps it the experience intimate. It's kinda like being in Japan. To start you got to try the Ceviche Tostada. Chase it down with the Sake of your choice. I had the Z Roll, Shaggy Dog Roll, the Black Mamba Roll, and of course the Toro'ko Special Roll. All so delicious and like I said, different. Be sure to kick down both the servers, Oscar and two brothers, they deserve it....

This place was such a great recommendation and surprised us. Raw fish tasted fresh, rolls were delicious and seaweed salad amazing. They had such a large variety of sushi rolls, we were able to narrow it down to two. San Antonio roll and Toro'ko roll, so delicious. Hands-down recommend both of them. There is a chili crunch to San Antonio roll which I enjoyed. The place is spacious however it does get quite chilly indoors and they do have outdoor seating. Service is a little slower during lunch as it did get pretty packed. However, can't wait to return to try the other rolls!

Cute little place with inviting dining area. I was craving something light and fresh. I started with the seaweed salad, which was great. Not too sweet and on the savory side, that's a plus! The server recommended the lemon special roll. It hit the spot with a hint of refreshing citrus and a tiny kick of spicy tobiko. I love Ikura and it was great! Hats off to the chef for the cutest display of the Ikura. I am a sushi fan and would definitely recommend a stop here.
