The torta ahogada was good and packed with a lot of meat pretty big and savory. The service was great and place had a good vibe, clean and spaceful.

One of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve been to. I ordered the torta ahogada which isn’t easily found in Los Angeles. It is a torta with carnitas and beans which is covered with a tomato sauce and a very spicy salsa. I don’t eat them with the salsa. The tortas ahogadas here are really good. I also asked for an Aguascalientes de Jamaica. The carnitas en su jugo are good here too. Both of the dishes I mentioned in this review are from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Service here is consistently good. I’ve been here maybe four times. The restaurant is pretty big. They have tons of free parking.

While out doing errands in the area, the wifey suggested this restaurant. As I've been to Guadalajara Mexico, I didn't get the chance to eat any tortas there. So the suggestion was their well known Carnitas Torta combo which comes with one large Torta made with a fresh baked roll and spread lightly refried beans, carnitas, and then poured over with their salsa. Also comes with 2 tacos, we got ours with potatoes inside garnished with cotijo cheese and shredded cabbage. They give you some pickled red onions which makes the meal taste even more delicious as a garnish. Chips & Salsa are brought as you sit down and order. Oh yeah and the combo plate comes with a drink of your choice. We got one Jamaica and a horchata to wash it down. Everything was homemade and delicious. Restaurant is clean, organized, and our waitress was very professional and accommodating. I would like to come back and try more items from the menu. Great job Tortas Ahogadas Guadalajara!

Overall this place seems to be on decline but is still able to offer fairly flavorful food. Reasoning for the decline (imo): - lower quality food over the last few years (these may be attributed to the pademic effect and recent inflation) - the meats tend to have more fat that before ....a taco shouldn't have so much fat.. - wet burritos have been hit the hardest with the fat amount the most, in my experience - non-bottle drinks used to be great value (no longer the case : shrinkflation seems to have hit them here too) having said that they are strong Reasons for giving it a try: - food still tends to be well seasoned, flavor is definitely there (despite the quality of the meat) - service tends to be great, but make sure you call their attention if you need something, don't wait - they have a varied selection of fairly delicious plates

Drive two hours to try their tortas ahogadas. I recommend you try their combo deals. They are affordable and come with a drink. I wanted to try the michelada but I had to drive far home. My son loved the rice. The Chile for the torta was perfect. I’m used to having my tortas with a “ salado birote”. Birria was delicious. I look forward to trying more of the food items on the menu.

Great experience called last minute for a party of 12 they accommodate us with their own small private room. Service was amazing. Foodwas great.

Everything was excellent the food was tasty and delicious, the waitress have great customer service skills. You don’t get rush to finish your plate so your are able to enjoy every bite.

Food wash fresh and tasty, the waitress Pablo was very attentive. He took our orders and we were served within 5 minutes, I loved that they had music but was very soft, allowing us to talk and enjoy, music and food. Prices are fair, we were a party of 4 and our bill was around $100 Will definitely be back

To really enjoy this place its best to try out the food here in the restaurant. If you want to avoid the restaurant being packed, best to come in either before or after lunch rush. What I recommend eating here are the tortas ahogadas. It's what they are known for, and it can be messy to eat. I typically get tortas ahogadas mixtas (carnitas con buche), but order the salsas on the side since the spicy salsa is very very spicy (la salsa es original como Guadalajara, bien picoso) so be careful when you order the salsa. The tacos dorados de papa and frijoles, are delicious. The food overall is just like eating back in Guadalajara, it's a very traditional style that you don't usually get in tower places.

Carne en su Jugo is beyond fire !!! Super rich and savory!! Had the queso fundido as well it was fire! Cant wait to go back as i was highly impressed! So good i forgot to take pictures! My bad

This the best Carne en su Jugo, I know they're known for their tortas but this plate is what come for. Service is great in person over the phone or thru Uber Eats. Ambiance is perfect for the restaurant theme

I placed an order to go, and it took iced 20mintues and when I got back to ok work, it was not even put together. It was all separate. Never hadcthis service before. And for 15.00 it should have been given cooked correctly.

I always come here when in la and this time I asked Pablo what's recommended and he said carne en Hugo . I was like bet ! He did not disappoint. Owners if you are reading this please give Pablo's a raise cause he is doing an awesome job . !!!!!!

Drove a hour to try this place out & It was absolutely worth it! Very delicious food; the perfect portions. Excellent customer service from Baudelio, he was very attentive and welcoming. 10/10 would make the drive, again.

My family has been eating these tortas ahogadas since they served from the comfort of their home. It was an every weekend thing. They reminded us of home. They've now expanded and of course, we visit all the time. After a long night of drinking (responsibly) we plan a visit to our favorite place. A torta ahogada, tacos dorados, y una cerveza = hangover cure. Really authentic and the service is excellent. They make you feel at home. 10/10 recommend.

This is the Latin version of a French dip sandwich. It was absolutely delicious. The baguette was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The meat was tender and the au jus was flavorful.

This review is for Tortas Ahogadas Guadalajara in Huntington Park at Randolph and Santa Fe . I came in after a long day and as soon as I walked in everyone was very welcoming I came in and sat I'm vegetarian so I had questions about the menu I had a super nice and sweet waiter named "Rudy " he was very welcoming and friendly and professional I asked what can I get as a vegetarian option ? I choose a Vegetarian taco and tacos de papa and bean tacos since it was my first time visiting this restaurant I wasn't to familiar with menu. Rudy walked me through the menu , I really recommend this location!

Food was 7/10...service was 6/10..I went after 8pm and it could of been cleaner specifically the benches/seating area could be wiped down they were sticky..the spot is cool but needs that extra touch up starting to look like it's heading downward ..food is good not gonna deny it! We definitely will be back. I believe a few attention to this location and cleaner feel is needed. Managers don't get complacent..step it up

I wanted to grab something quick to eat with my kids and I order tacos, the torta ahogada and a burrito. I was skeptical because I look over the kitchen and I didn't see anyone cooking freshly. We got our food really quickly, when I saw the meat on the burrito look really dried, my son still ate it. I got the tacos de Barbacoa, and you can taste the faucet water on the meat. I was starving, so I ate it. Six hours later, my son started complaining about pain and vomited the burrito. My son got food poisoning from the burrito and I got diarrhea. Hopefully your experience is not as bad as mine.

Si pudiera no darle estrellas lo haría, pésimo servicio, la mesera de muy mala gana nos atendió, no quería ni darnos el menú, la comida tardó demasiado y estaba fría. Definitivamente no lo recomiendo, además de que el baño está súper de mala muerte.

Hidden gem! Lightning fast service, clean and spacious setting perfect for any sized party. We sadly missed their Mon- Fri happy hour, but extremely satisfied with everything this spot offers. Amicable employees willing to provide info on items. Did not know what to expect coming, but this place has FLAVOR & AMAZING SERVICE. I had a torta ahogada and it was delicious! I am not a very torta person but to these tortas I love. We also got some refrescos, Jamaica & Horchata which are delicious and where served in cute big glasses. I had a good time and the service was good. The ambiance was family-friendly and very welcoming.

Have never found a place where they have the best Tortas ahogadas and carne en su jugo. Weekdays is perfect to go, weekdays you might wait a bit but worth it

Omg let me tell u this place is very authentic an very flavorful, starting with chips an salsa they were really good an perfect on spice, barbacoa tacos an consume was delicious an flavorful, the shrimp cocktail was a different color then normal but it was very good, the aguas are good an service was nice our waitress was Alma very nice helpful lady, this place is a must try if u are in the area

I always order Uber eats for this place when I'm craving chilaquiles I get the red mild spice. I also order avocado for an extra price and man they are very generous with the amount ! Love it ! The plate comes with rice and bean plus eggs the way your prefer. Such a great combo never disappoints. I look forward to trying other items in their menu. Last time I ordered the cafe but it wasn't the best.

Stumbled upon here on the way DT exited to try this spot in my home town . Much more then Tortas ! Great prices for the food . I ordered the carne en su jugo it would have been perfect but it came out warm instead of hot . It was still very good , the torta was missing flavor or maybe just a bit more salt it was mediocre at best . The menu has great variety of food options and combo specials. Server was very welcoming and attentive . Good food , Good service , Good prices . I think they serve alcohol incase you care , family local spot . Oh and the tortillas are made fresh . Always a plus in my book . ;)

I went to this place like a week ago. Omg I was like where has this place been all my like? I have tried a few different plates already and they are all great. Plus I had the pleasure to have Ruddy as our waiter. Such a great person, great carisma. It was great meeting you Ruddy. Keep up that great personality of yours. Such a great environment. By the way I have tried "cantaritos" elsewhere and this are by far the best ones!

This place has unfortunately changed for the negative. It used to be delicious and very decent meat quality (especially the barbacoa). Staff has always been a hit or miss. Some male staff is next level awesome. They're funny, knowledgeable, fast, and check up on you. Other staff tends to forget your whole order (on 4 of 6 visits they have forgotten the whole order). This usually isn't a big deal but the wait time on the forgotten items is quite long. Recently there seems to have been a substantial drop in the quality of the meat being used and it's excessively fatty (some fat is good for flavor but this is too much). Pros: -decent flavor of just about every dish -alcohol drinks are delicious -majority of staff is pleasant, nice, helpful Cons: -pretty dirty (floors/tables) -hit or miss on the waiter/waitress -quality of meat seems to have dropped a lot -hit or miss on your whole order being delivered -hit or miss on your wait time for ordered food

The food is really bad I got a cocktel de camaron and it was nasty the shrimp was yellow really bad

Visiting from Texas, I stumbled across Tortas Ahogadas in Huntington Park! I had the chulaquiles & they met every taste bud that I was looking for. All staff members were very friendly, especially Alma & the manager! The manager would check on me very often asking about the service & recommending me other great appetizers! I highly recommend anyone that lives in California or an tourist to definitely stop by this restaurant & stuff your face with their great food! 10/10.

My hubby had dentist appointment in this area so after appt we decided to try. My hubby ordered horchata drink that came in large mason jar that was not clean. The guacamole was not fresh that they serve with nachos/taquitos and it look old (brownish). The beans and rice lacked flavor. I did not enjoy nachos again no flavor nothing special. The carne asada was not good that was in nacho order. Even the margarita that I ordered Big Mama sucked. I will never come back to this restaurant.

Went to get some food yesterday after class because I was craving a torta ahogada so I came here. Walked in they greeted me promptly and when I put in my order they said give me around 10-15 mins. What I liked is they got me my food way sooner. Food: overall it was good/solid gets the job done. Torta ahogada was good. I enjoyed the bread because it's a very important part to this plate it has to hold up due to the amount of sauces that you put in the torta. The Carnitas for me were good they weren't salty and they weren't chewy, they were perfectly seasoned and the consistency was great. Added some onions and slaw to the torta to complete it and i enjoyed it. The tacos were solid nothing special about them I got one potato one bean which is standard when you get a Torta ahogada. Honestly I wish I would've had a little bit more beans or potatoes in my taco because I just thought it was too much tortilla and very little filling. Ordered them to be topped of with carnitas which is a plus on the flavor. But aside from that no issues. The tacos de barbacoa: the barbacoa was great i thought it had great flavors and a big up side was that the barbacoa was juice for me and not dry. I will say I wasn't a fan of the double tortilla so I removed one and I thought it focused more on the barbacoa flavor. I will say I ordered a Flan for dessert and they gave me the wrong thing which was a Jericalla which is a custard. Luckily I enjoy both but the jericalla wasn't the best But was eatable.

First time here and the food had a lot of flavor the portion are big. Our waitress Alma was on point, she was attentive. The environment was quiet they had music n the tv. I highly recommend stopping here to eat there's a variety of food.

The best barbacoa tacos ever!!! Their aguas frescas are cheap and they give you a big amount in the mason jar!! I always end up getting enough to take another cup of jaimaca home! The service is 10/10!! Everyone is so welcoming and wonderful. The ambiance is very cozy and I love the Mexican food! Alma, is one of the friendliest and most attentive server ever.
