Three restaurants later, we ended up at Toscana Divino.
Restaurant #1: Out of food. Had to close early.
Restaurant #2: 45-minute wait. No, thank you.
Restaurant #3: Just right. Hey, this sounds like a tale of Goldilocks and the three bears. *Thinks*
Anyway, we were led immediately to a table by our server, Veronica, who exemplifies stellar customer service. Polite, engaging, full of recommendations, and actually authentic. And by authentic, I mean, it's an Italian restaurant where they actually speak Italian. I even got to practice my rusty skills.
As far as the food goes, scrumptious if you know real Italian cuisine. Not the oversauced stuff. Apologies to my companion, but eat with Italians and/or go to Italy to see the difference.
It should be noted that chicken parmesan is not a legitimate Italian dish. Had to throw that out there in case someone wants to order that there. That said, they may not have that, but there are a crazy amount of options, sure to delight any and every palette.
We had complimentary bread that we had happily with olive oil and basalmic. It had a good and fresh crunch to it. I had the spaghetti "3 tomatoes," while my companion opted for a lasagna. Later, coffee was ordered. We just adored the place, or at the very least, I know I certainly did. It was intimate, full of love, but most of all, it exceeded expectations (and believe me I had a lot - I knew someone Italian once who never would shut up about this restaurant). Just a win-win overall.
