I've been to a few total wines & more since the holidays. Stocking up a few bottles and buying gifts, Ect. I've been to the Oak lawn location a few times because it's convenient, the Miami location when I was out of town over the holidays, Plano North (Preston village) Because they had what I was looking for a few times and did a pick-up, Dallas Park Lane (This location) while I'm out shopping and Allen location
But this experience left such a wrong impression at the Dallas Park lane location. Just Wow. I stopped to pick up a few things. Parking is always accessible, with no issues. I go inside and start looking for the selections on my list. I don't see what I'm looking for, and I'm walking around, so I ask a guy for help, and he shows me what aisle the item is, but the shelf is empty, so he scans it and says there's a box he looks for it and he gets something to stand on to reach up and grab the last box that it showed they had in stock. I decided to get two bottles instead of 1 because it seemed like their supply was low could be just at this location, but I figured I get two since I'm here. I thank him, and I move on to pick up the rest. I went to the aisle I needed. However, I can't find the bottle. Honestly, this was where I messed up. I should have stayed with the guy that was stocking the bottles on the shelf instead of bumping into Karl
Here it goes. I see Karl, whose name I didn't see at the beginning of this interaction until at the end when I made sure I read it. I see him, so I say excuse me, where do you have xxx I say the name to him. He then says speak up if you want me to hear you. That right, there should have been enough to look for someone else to ask, but nope, i spoke up louder so he could listen to what I said and repeated it. He then repeats it. He looks at me and says well, that bottle is the xxx amount of dollars. The tone he said that bothered me was hint number two, which I bypassed his lovely attitude. And he then says we keep those locked up with a key and walk off.
........... those dots are me trying to process what Karl said as he says it and walks away, so I'm thinking he's showing me what I'm looking for, so I proceed to follow him. He goes into an aisle and says I know those are xxx amount of dollars and locked up. You can't get to them. They are expensive. He then repeats this. Okay, can you show me where they are? I say to him, and my buddy Karl then says, but they're locked and turns to go into another aisle. ..... oh so he's showing me even if he has a bad attitude, is what I'm thinking. Even though I'm getting a bit annoyed with his tone, as he walks to another aisle and stops by another associate who's down on the ground doing something, they are talking, so there's a distance between us. It takes a while, so I step up closer to hear him, and that's when I hear him say the name of what I'm looking for. The person who is now searching on the phone asks him the name, and he starts spelling it. The guy whose search is talking with him. I hear him say the cost again to this associate At no time did KARL say oh, we are out. Oh, this location doesn't have any. Nope nothing, so at this point I'm over it and I'm just going to get someone else to help since Karl is more interested in telling me what an item cost than I'm probably aware of if I'm looking for it. I say it's okay, KARL, and I repeat his name. You have a bad attitude, and you were insulting. I didn't ask you how much it costs or locked up. He then says Okay, i was telling you how much it costs, in a matter-of-fact kind of way, which annoyed me even more, so I told him your attitude stinks. He says okay and you have a good day and smiles. He stays standing where he was, and I walk away to leave i cross another associate who asks me if I need help. I told him, nope, Karl did enough of that. He's so rude. I walked up to the customer service counter, and the two associated standing there asked if I needed help. But at this point I'm upset I gave them the items I had in my hand, which were about four bottles and told tell how rude Karl was, and walked out
This is not a location I will be returning to, not even for pickup
And just an FYI, if a customer is looking for a specific whiskey, wine, rum Ect whatever, there's a chance they are aware of how much it costs. And there's no need to keep reminding them what it costs. Instead, you should engage them, so they purchase more,
