The Best Restaurants in New Orleans’s Algiers Point Neighborhood | Eater New Orleans

"This popular breakfast and lunch cafe has a robust coffee program for sure, but the Tout de Suite kitchen steps right up with creative brunch items too. The “Deep South,” a personal skillet of breakfast goodness, is a great bet — but then again, the “Atchafalaya” combines crawfish etoufee with grits and eggs, so it’s a toss up. There are lighter options too, and for pancake lovers, there is real maple syrup for $1.50 (so worth it)." - Beth D’Addono

Absolutely the best biscuits and sausage gravy I’ve ever eaten. Biscuits were butter-grilled before covered in sausage gravy that would almost stand as a meal on its own. Pancakes were light and fluffy with just enough crispiness to boost it over the edge into amazing! Also had the fried home style potatoes that were (don’t tell her I said it) better than momma’s.

The restaurant is in and a part of the community it is in. Very eclectic, warm and inviting, with a good helping os Southern hospitality. The menu isn't fussy or complicated, and the portions are generous. You'll be satisfied but not stuffed where you sluggish or sick. The food is flavorful and the coffee is on point. Add this to your list of places to check out!

Google
Great little gem in the neighborhood. The energy is high as the staff welcome you inside. The food is delicious and served hot. The fresh HOMEMADE pastries are some of the best. I can’t say enough about this place- you just have to go.

Google
Came here for breakfast on Wednesday. I was excited that it was only four minutes from our Airbnb and had seen that it's top-rated. I was hungry, so I I ordered the Poche, a cinnamon roll and a Macchiato. It was my first time trying Boudin, we don't get that in Michigan. That with the Poche was so good! The Boudin itself is very tasty, and combined with that sauce and the grits it's wonderful! The cinnamon roll hit the spot too. It was moist with a great flavor throughout, not just with the frosting. The macchiato will wake you up, it's very strong, albeit good!

Google
Great local cafe with an awesome breakfast menu! I had the half order of biscuits and sausage gravy and a blueberry pancake. Delicious! Staff was friendly both at the order counter and when bringing food to the table. There were also at least 3 employees who said goodbye to us when we left.

Google
This is an amazing establishment for locals and tourists alike! Serving up amazing drinks and food, the staff here greet you with a smile. TdS (as I like to abbreviate it) is great if you're looking for a coffee to wake you up or if you want a nice breakfast with someone special! There are menu options to satisfy everyone and delicious baked goods as well. My husband and I are beyond happy that we can just walk 2 blocks over from our house to frequent TdS often!

Google
⚜️What an absolute delicious breakfast restaurant my beautiful girlfriend and I enjoyed the biscuits and gravy and the Abbeyville plate. We’re traveling through town and this is definitely a local spot. Highly recommend recommended worth going across the Mississippi river.⚜️ ⚜️However, keep your eye out for this creeper out front of the restaurant, taking pictures of your girls butt and walking his dog as an excuse⚜️

Google
Feels like a nice local joint. Serves very good breakfast. Prices are decent. Does not serve alcohol.

Yelp
Cute lil cafe by our Airbnb. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. The pancake mix as yummy and the crawfish etouffe was pretty good. They had coffee there and pastries. Was very happy the restaurant was here.

Yelp
Came here on a lark with some co-workers who recommended it one Saturday morning. The menu seemed about as limited as the seating available, but I was pleasantly surprised overall by the outcome. You order at the counter, take your number, and find your seat. The boudin was pretty good, and the pain du perdu (French toast) was decent. I would've loved more options or at least more food on the plate, but for a nice little midday snack (or a smaller brunch), it fit the bill. Cute little area of Algiers Point and not hard to access either by ferry or the highway. Overall, I'm going to say it was less than I expected for the cost, but still solid on taste. Quick service, and overall good experience.

Yelp
Excellent New Orleans breakfast at Algers Point. Just short walk from the ferry station which is a quaint path. We have the Crawfish Eggs and grits as well as the egg sausage biscuit. A heavy meal but well worth it.

Yelp
This spunky Algiers Point neighborhood cafe is nestled in a corner space with views of a neighborhood park and beautiful church. The inside is decorated with eclectic art from local artists, most of which is available for purchase. You order at the counter, and the food is then brought to your table. The restaurant is family owned and the service is friendly, welcoming and prompt. The food is deliciously homemade and the portions a plentiful. I really suggest coming by for breakfast or lunch if you are in town!

Yelp
This is one of the places I had to revisit on our trip to NOLA! It's in Algiers, across the River and it is worth the trip! The food and coffee are so good! The people who work there are friendly and will take time to talk to you! And I love the atmosphere - there is art in walls available to buy- from local artists and the music creates a wonderful backdrop. It is welcoming and cozy and offers you a place to enjoy a quiet neighborhood view while you have a luscious southern freshly made breakfast. It makes me happy to know Tout de Suite is here and thriving still! And if you take the ferry over, you can walk thru a lovely, well cared for neighborhood of beautiful homes.

Yelp
Took the ferry across for breakfast here- Amazing food, coffee and service And this is just a fantastic neighborhood space to hang out and catch up with friends My friend moved in nearby & this is our new spot!

Yelp
Love love love this place. Food is so good, staff are really sweet. Definitely worth checking out. Hop the ferry to the WB and walk yourself to an amazing breakfast in a cute little neighborhood.

Yelp
This wonderful little artsy breakfast spot is spot on delicious. Small seating area but the two times we came we always found a spot to sit. Order at the counter and settle in to enjoy. My kid is now addicted to their biscuits and turkey sausage. He's a simple man. My other kid and I are all about their huevos rancheros. So tasty and filling. Great coffee. According to my mom, best quiche she has ever had. According to my nephew, best chocolate chip pancakes ever! Everyone is happy.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a must visit every time we're in NOLA. The food is cooked to order and delivered to your table piping hot. Coffee comes in huge cups and is delicious and smooth. I've had Oatmeal with fresh fruit, egg's bacon with toast, and Katrina Huevos Rancheros, excellent! Be sure to check out the art work, it's all for sale! The coffee house atmosphere is comfortable and staff is so friendly. You won't be disappointed

Yelp
Amazing cafe Everything is fresh to and delicious The place is adorable- Plenty of local art for sale The biscuits and gravy are delicious The staff was great A must if in the area- A short walk from the ferry

Yelp
I live in the point and walk here for breakfast once a week. Everything is delicious and the service is very good and everyone is so friendly. It's also very historic and homey in a very New Orleans way.

Yelp
Charming cafe nestled in the heart of Algiers Point. This place has the quintessential makings of a perfect neighborhood brunch spot. I was greeted immediately as I walked in by the staff and they were kind in making suggestions. No more than 5 minutes later after I sat my meal was prepared and ready. Savory & full of flavor is how I would describe my meal. I know it was made with love. I'll be sure to be back soon and support this local business
google avatar

Angela B.

Yelp
Good food, great service and more than a coffee shop. Community staple and close to our Air BnB! Coffee was tasty and wifi service dependable. Will remember to visit when in NOLA next year.

Yelp
Very eclectic and small place with several great options. It is nice that you can get half orders of many of the breakfast / brunch items. Got a large coffee and it was a great cup. Tried 3 half orders to mix it up. Bermuda triable has great avocado spread. Loved the toast. Half of the Pain Perdue - (french toast). Very flavorful and not too sweet. Last we got the Farmer Brown half order. All was good but not a huge fan of the salsa. In and out for right at $30 dollars for the two of us. It cheap but not high priced either. Friendly ladies serving and taking care of guest. I believe it is a real place for locals but worth the ferry ride to see the old neighborhood and enjoy the meal

Yelp
I cannot express enough how happy it made me to eat here. First the building is beautiful and very eclectic. There is a feel when you walk in that makes you feel like you just walked into your mom and dads house. You are greeted with smiles and "good mornings". You grab your waters that are already made and waiting for you when you walk in and a menu and pick a seat. Once you've looked over the menu (EVERYTHING is good and worth it) you go place your order at the counter. They are true to their name...everything comes tout suite! (Very fast) then when you finish breakfast and coffee you can pick something delicious from the pastry case! This place is a true gem of The Point! Go see em and look for the beautiful black cat chillin outside. He's so friendly!
google avatar

Yelp
Tout De Suite Cafe is an amazing local breakfast choice! There signature breakfast menu is amazing! Everything taste great and the coffee selection is good as well. This is a great place to take out of town guest. I would recommend having no more than 4 in your party because the place is a small cafe. The outdoor setting is a French Quarter vibe but thats just Algiers Point in general. I love the Katrita! Below is the taco style grits and they are delicious! When coming here be sure to have an empty stomach. The price is pretty average. You won't break the bank but it is not dirt cheap. I would say in average $15/adult $8/child.

Yelp
Thev service , ambiance and food was excellent! Tried pancakes, atchafalaya and the farmer browns. All were excellent

Yelp
Another Algiers Point Favorite! I always get the Deep South with Over Easy Eggs and Coffee. A truly satisfying dish as every component is delicious on their own! This was my first time trying the quiche and although it wasn't my favorite quiche (too much spinach), it was still good. I especially like that the mixed fruits included strawberries! The coffee was good too, I drank it black and it only came with one refill. The service here is really nice! Everyone is very friendly and attentive. You order at the counter and then they will bring the food to you. You usually can grab your drink immediately after you order. I like the outdoor ambience the best (on a nice day), but the inside is nice as well.

Yelp
Lovely place for a mid morning coffee and a whole grain spiced muffin at Algiers Point.

Andrew K.

Yelp
Me and my boyfriend ( we are an interracial gay couple) came here for breakfast and were absolutely blown away from the start. We were greeted with smiles and warm conversation by the nice woman behind the counter. We both got the étouffée and scraped the plate clean! the homemade blueberry danish was my personal favorite (we fought over the last piece.) We will 1000% be back again tomorrow morning. A gem here in Algiers point!
google avatar

Mike W.

Yelp
What a wonderful breakfast stop! A short ferry ride to Algiers Point and a decent walk. Open 8-1 just for breakfast. Ate there 3 mornings in a row. 3 different dishes all good. Hole in the wall with wall art inside place. Prices are more than fair! I hope that their success won't change the vibe!
google avatar

Yelp
I was working in Algiers so decided to stop by Tout De Suite for breakfast. I ordered the Irish oatmeal which comes with fruit and granola and I added almond milk. The oatmeal was REALLY good, lots of flavor and the granola + fruit additions were really good. Also, the portion size was also equally good as there was a lot of oatmeal, granola and fruit the service was also really good and the cafe did seem to practice safety protocols such as social distancing and not reusing pens Overall, a great breakfast place in Algiers
google avatar

Yelp
Never knew about this hidden gym until a few months ago and I've been living on the West Bank my entire life. Food was amazing and staff was very nice. Will most definitely be back for more
google avatar

Yelp
This darling local cafe is the perfect place for coffee or a meal. I have been several times now and enjoy their breakfast selection. The ambiance is nice with fun vintage music or a live musician on the weekends. The line can seem long, but those gals hustle and its usually a short wait. Order at the counter and find a seat. Vegetarian and Gluten Free options. Kid friendly, there's even a little play area. No alcohol, but this is New Orleans, just bring a flask and put a little nip in your sip if you want. The staff is super friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
It's so rewarding to go back to one of your favorite breakfast spots after a year or two absence, to find that the food is still every bit as good as it was on your last visit. The huevos rancheros at Tout de Suite is seriously one of the best breakfast dishes in town. Great coffee, too! The owner/manager is passionate about customer service and will make you feel like family.
google avatar

Tamara H.

Yelp
My experience here was almost perfect. The food and atmosphere are great. My one issue is that when I first walked in, no one acknowledged me. So I just stood there with my kids feeling lost. Apparently you order at the counter and seat yourself. I had no idea because it was my first time visiting. After several minutes an employee explained the process and was very apologetic after I told her it was my first time eating there. Her apology was enough for me to forget that one issue and still give the place 5 stars. The food is DELICIOUS!
google avatar

Alejandra A.

Yelp
Best breakfast I've had in a while! We got the Atchafalaya and Poche, both which were amazing, some of the best crawfish etouffe I had visiting the city. There was a line when we got there but surprisingly service was pretty quick. Absolutely recommend if you're in the area!
google avatar

Theresa H.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious and quick! The best biscuit and gravy I've ever eaten. We cannot wait to come back.
google avatar

Lucy K.

Yelp
Favorite breakfast place! Love the chai tea and Cafe au lait. Great biscuits! Biscuits and gravy is one of my favorite versions ever, same with their huevos rancheros. Pancakes aren't my very favorite but everything else is fire. You order at the counter and staff brings it out. Staff is super sweet and cool at for sale. You can eat outside with your dog as well.

Suzanne M.

Yelp
Great food and coffee on the Point. Super nice folks and relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Sruti B.

Yelp
Hanh and her team at Tout de Suite do such an amazing job providing excellent service and consistently great food! The menu is small, but I'd rather have a small menu of really great, well executed dishes than a menu full of mediocre bites. They treat everyone like family in there and the service is super quick! Placing a to go order is as easy as 1,2,3 and always ready in such a short amount of time. They also let you skip the line to pick up ensuring that your order is still hot when received!
google avatar

Mike C.

Yelp
Very delicious and made from scratch. Had the southern and loved the mixture of flavors. Also great coffee! I will be back
google avatar

Dawn M.

Yelp
I make a stop every time I'm in the neighborhood! Wonderful comfort food or light fruit and a danish. Every choice is a win! I don't have a favorite- it is all based on my mood. But I have never had anything I didn't like.
google avatar

Sue G.

Yelp
Great local breakfast place. Order at the counter, and the friendly staff will bring your food to your table when it's ready. We ate there twice in 3 days because it was so good! The first day, we both had the Atchafalaya, which is crawfish étouffée over grits with eggs cooked to order. It was so good, my husband ordered it again the next time! I had the Farmer Brown on our second trip, and it didn't disappoint. Very casual, family friendly vibe. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
A quaint little place. Excellent service capable friendly staff. Excellent food. One of my favorite places for Sunday brunch.
google avatar

Kenda W.

Yelp
Charming coffee shop in Historic Algiers Point. This cafe is one of the Points hidden gems.  From delicious pastries to everything you'd find in a traditional southern breakfast. Items such as pancakes, grits, eggs and bacon, to a NYC inspired Bagel & Lox. A must try on their Signature Breakfast menu is the Atchafalaya. It's silky crawfish ettouffe is served over creamy stone ground grits with eggs cooked your way. I settled upon sunny side up and it was everything I imagined it to be. I took the blueberry danish to go and saved it for breakfast the next morning. The flaky crusty, the sweet blueberries and the tangy lemon...DELICIOUS. Beautiful artwork for sale from local artist.
google avatar

Jen L.

Yelp
A group of friends was looking for breakfast on a Sunday morning in Algiers and found this super cute spot. We shared coffee and tea and dined on delicious food and there was something for everyone from vegetarian to eat all the meats. The biscuits are A+ Order at the counter and food is delivered to your table. Prices are very affordable and their is a staff person who is refilling waters and bussing the tables for you. There was even a musician playing quietly in a corner with a tip box out, adding to the ambiance. There are a few outdoor tables but it was a bit chilly and there were 4 of us. The only thing that could make it better is if they offered Cane syrup in addition to maple. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
I was participating in a rummage sale down the street when my stomach started to rumble. I knew I needed coffee and breakfast-stat! My friend and I walked down to satisfy our early morning breakfast needs. I really liked the vibe of this place and the sunshine-y attitude of the staff. It makes for such a pleasant start to any day. I ordered their "toot suite" breakfast in a go cup, $6.50 for eggs, bacon and grits layered in a pretty decent cup--I was full for the next 6 hours! The iced coffee brewed with vanilla bean was not what I expected, and though different, not terrible as I drank the whole thing, however I wouldn't order it again. It had a sweetness that could almost be interpreted as bitter, though it finished with some sugar. The breakfast offerings were abundant as well as the fresh baked cookies, pastries and quiche. Non coffee beverages were also quite wide with coolers full of flavored Pellegrino, honest juice boxes and Odawalla juice blends. Definitely a great neighborhood establishment that serves up the right mix of atmosphere, value and taste.

Yelp
Fantastic! Came back for a second breakfast while on vacation. Friendly staff, fast service. Katrita huevos rancheros was Love the local art too!
google avatar

Yelp
This is my second visit to Tout De Suite Cafe and this time I brought the family. We had a great time catching up over some yummy breakfast. Service is fast and the food never disappoints.
google avatar

Yelp
We happened upon this cute, little, neighborhood cafe one morning and gave it a shot. The food was beyond and above delicious with every tiny thing homemade..... biscuits, gravy, pastries.... all were delicious. The service was excellent also. Very welcoming and friendly. Great prices, perfect portions (If you're super hungry) and all in a super quaint atmosphere with plenty of Louisiana style. I highly recommend this place!!
google avatar

Alora S.

Yelp
Very gluten free friendly! Owner was aware of cross contamination and handled my food with care. The strawberry almond gf muffin was AMAZING. Made fresh this morning, it was one of the best gf pastries I've ever had. I got the Caesar salad (without croutons) add chicken and it was very light, well dressed, lots of avocado. It was a generous portion. My husbands dish looked really good. All in all REALLY glad we found this place.
google avatar

Cesar R.

Yelp
Not much to write here folks. It's like the only place to have breakfast in Algiers Point. Order at the counter, no fresh orange juice, coffee per the GF is ok. My eggs, bacon and potatoes were ok. The pancake was good but they gave me a small serving of syrup. Is having a bottle of syrup at the table really that cost prohibitive? Will give it points for portion sizes, decor and homey feel and the quiches looked interesting.
google avatar

Dilyara S.

Yelp
Nice, charming neighborhood restaurant. I came here with friends for breakfast on a Monday morning. I learned Monday was their chef's day off, so they couldn't serve many meals off their menu. I ordered BLT sandwich, which was delicious. Lots of yummy crisp bacon and lots of bread :) The menu said, BLT comes with avocado, which I didn't get. My friend also ordered BLT which didn't have avo as well. She asked about it, they gave it to her on the side. I also asked to replace chips with scrambled eggs. I was charged extra for eggs instead. There were some unfortunate misunderstandings, but I think it was all because the chef was out. Nice and attentive personnel always is a huge plus, which they have.

B M.

Yelp
Great place for breakfast, decent servings. Great staff and atmosphere. We tried various breakfast selections, they did not disappoint. If you're on that side of the bridge in New Orleans stop by, if not, it's still worth the trip.

Yelp
My friend and I came to Tout De Suite Cafe during our stay in Algiers. We kept passing by after it had closed but finally had the change to go the day before we left. Tout De Suite Cafe is one of those places that needs to be on your list of cafes to visit. The staff was friendly and helpful. You can tell that they really care about their customers and the food. I ended up ordering a breakfast option (I don't remember the name). My meal had the two slices of bacon, two eggs of my choice, grits, and an english muffin. I know you can customize the options but that's what I went with. I had been having stomach issues the days prior so this was a nice and light breakfast. The food was amazing. The cafe au lait was nice and hot. It reminded me of a home cooked meal/comfort meal. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in town again. Definitely put Tout De Suite Cafe on your list and make sure to check out their business hours so you'll make it there before closing time. Also, the view outside is very peaceful and beautiful.
google avatar

RuthMarie S.

Yelp
Excellent place for breakfast and the coffee is fresh made to your order. I enjoy bringing my nephew here to eat. He loves the pancakes Service is very efficient. Lots of local art on the walls. Wi-Fi is available.
google avatar

Valentine B.

Yelp
Quaint little cafe on a quiet street. I went on a busy day at an unusually busy time it seems. According to regulars, they haven't seen a line that long in all the years they have been patrons at that restaurant! The menus are kept at the counter so you have to wait until you get there to see it and decide on your choice. Luckily for me, the people in front of me passed the menu down the line. I selected the atchafalaya and my boyfriend the Deep South dish. The restaurant is cash only, once again the sign is only at the counter. They bring your plates to your tables. I'm not sure if we are to bring our plates back to the bin next to the counter after our meal, but that's what I saw a few people do. The food was tasty. There are tables outside so we enjoyed the sun and nice weather. I recommend that place, their food is good, and I'll try to remember to bring cash.
google avatar

Paula B.

Yelp
Sweet little cafe. Excellent food. Excellent coffee. Enjoyed seating outside and people watching. Perfect New Orleans morning.

Yelp
My absolute favorite breakfast place on the Westbank! I live in Algiers, so this is my go-to place for breakfast. It has such a nice ambience and it's a great place to go on a Saturday morning with family and friends. And the food! SO GOOD! Everything! It really doesn't matter what you get, everything is just delicious. My favorite is the two egg breakfast w/ potatoes or the bagel and lox. They also have great tasting coffee. You also have the option to sit inside or outside. The line to order can get long on Saturday mornings, but it's worth it!
