I've been to Pizza Hut Park twice, both times were for Edgefest. The most recent one was a few weeks ago. Edgefest 21. Sigh, I remember the first Edgefest...
Anywho. I was expecting a lot of traffic like at the one I went to 4 years ago (I don't think the Tollway was completely built then), but there was none this time. The stadium is a straight shot down the Tollway, so even though it was far, it didn't seem that bad. I had to park in a field full of weeds behind the movie theater. It was only $5, though. That was probably the first time that I've smiled at a parking attendant at a concert.
The stadium itself seems pretty cool. It was sweltering hot on the floor, though with all the sweaty people around. I liked how the two stages were set up at opposite ends of the fields, unlike the first year where you had to walk back up to ground level and around to the parking lot for the second stage.
Security is sort of a joke, but that worked in my favor since I didn't have a seat ticket, and my friends did. The boys got stopped every time, to show their tickets, and I was always able to walk on through. Hehe. I will say the security were on the people trying to cut into the GA area from the seat area. So I'll give them props for not being dicks to a pretty tame crowd.
I know it's like beating a dead horse, but $11 for a Miller Light??? Oh the horror. They have you by the balls, so of course you pay it. I was happy that they set up a beer station in the middle of the field so we didn't have to go back up each time.
Getting out of Frisco was a pain. My friends were trying to take me back to my car, and every road was blocked, so they finally just kicked me out and made me walk. Sad face. I could see if there was a lot of traffic, but there wasn't. Half the people didn't stay for Jane's Addiction. Those bitches.
Overall, other than the minor complaints above, good times were had at both events.
