Tracks

This review is for the "Tracks Express" kiosk next to the future site of the Tracks Bar at Grand Central Madison (LIRR Concourse). Can't think of a more fitting way to celebrate the future than a tallboy of Bronx Brewery Double IPA! It's for when you want wine-like ABV for beer prices. And the clean & attended restrooms are conveniently nearby. As for this location, I once had a Guinness Draught at the original place in Penn Station while watching the Giants beat the Packers during the 2011 playoffs. When might we have those days again???

Tracks is a great sports bar located next to the Garden that serves excellent food. Their wings are among the very best anywhere. Oysters and shrimp are excellent. There isn't anything we've ordered that wasn't good. On our next visit, I am going to speak with the bartender about their old fashioneds to see if we can get them to upgrade to orange bitters and Luxardo cherries, maybe make it with a top shelf rye and call it The Engineers Old Fashioned, a House Specialty Cocktail.

it's conveniently located right across from Madison Square Garden. Food selection is good, tastes great, and priced reasonably.

I've not eaten here in a few years only because I no longer work in the vicinity. I have always enjoyed the food and the laid-back atmosphere, and the staff is always friendly. Even after a few years of absence, they did not disappoint. Unfortunately, I was too hungry to take a proper photo. I had a burger with the house-cut fries. I was full before I could finish the burger.🍔🍟🫗

This place has a simple interior but at the same time, it has themes. It is located close to the train station that is why everything is related to the trains but I like it. Even the plates have railroad prints on them. The food was good. We stopped by for a couple of drinks and some appetizers. We ordered: chicken wings, seasoned cross tracks fries, spicy shrimp tacos, oysters, and shrimp cocktail. The service was good. Overall everything was good.

Food was good, had the muscles with white wine which were very bland, side of marinara was quite good though. The crab cakes were dry but the sauce was good. The cake tasted a bit like the refrigerator. Service was great, I really liked the woman who helped us. It was a bit hard to tell who worked there and who didn't. Over all, I don't regret going but not rushing to go back. Without the $10 parking discount, I'm more likely to go to another restaurant to be honest.

Just walked into tracks with 4 friends. Female bartender looks at us ( in Christmas attire) And she said “ leave, we don’t serve people from Santa con” I’ve never been kicked out of a bar before. Honestly embarrassing. She was nasty too. What a shame because I’m a very generous person.

Great atmosphere after a game. Lots of people. Great alcohol selection. My new go to place when I'm in the area!

Great, great service. If you are looking a good spot. This is definitely one you do t want to pass up! Excellent food and hospitality from the bartenders.

Love Tracks!!! We've been going here since they opened on 31st. The staff is always awesome and the food is very good! I'm not going to lie - some of the best wings you can get in the city are served here. Stop in someone for some food or a cocktail!

I have been here a few times and usually have a good time. However, recently I visited before a show at the Garden and was not impressed. The cocktails were mediocre, and the service was extremely slow. It appeared the waitress was serving tables and also making the drinks. Had the pretzel bites as an appetizer which were fresh and tasty. I also ordered the steak sandwich which tasted good but the pieces of steak was a little tough to pull apart in order to chew. I will give the place another try and hope it is better and as good as previous visits.

A clean and well kept bar. I had some oysters and a very delicious martini. Perhaps too delicious because I ended up having two. The service was amazing. The ladies were so nice and helpful and I really enjoyed myself. Will bring a friend next time.

Great location! Close to Madison Square Garden. Sat at the bar before going to Cirque Du Soleil. Bartender was quick and friendly. Ordered a few appetizers and it came quickly. Would definitely recommend here for a drink and their service.

Group of 10 or so of us meet here before phish every run for last 6 or so years. Last night cashier: Solange charged me 6 Tito's for 75$ when I ordered ONLY ordered 3 mixed drinks. Always polite and tip nice. So out of pocket to rip someone offf like that.

If you are heading to the ranger game or the New York knicks game or anything that happens at the garden you should already know about Tracks.. But if you don't my only suggestion is get there earlier than you think you should and order food and a drink ( any kind will do .. I drink lemonade ) I love oysters and their oysters, shrimp and clams hit the right notes! For the city.. it won't break your bank and you might have a cool conversation with someone interesting! Ambiance is that of a sports bar directly across the street from a garden like no other! Hop,skip Or jump .. you want this experience!

Crowded, noisy and blah atmosphere. The service is good and pretty fast. The food was disappointing. The oysters were fresh, but not really cleaned well. the mussels were not very good. We ordered Old Fashions and they were not made well. They were made with Rye. I order them a lot. It's always made with bourbon- or i'm asked if i want bourbon or Rye! These just tasted yucky. The location is very convenient to going to a show at MSG but there's definitely better options around for sure.

We felt like seafood and found this place: classic sports bar next to Madison Square Garden where we were headed to hear music. Great waitress. Kind of like your mom. Good reliable food and cheap for New York

A friend and I were in Chelsea tonight trying to think of where to go after a show at the Magnet when I suddenly remembered that Tracks, formerly in Penn Station, was nearby. We loved the old Tracks and I hadn't been to the new spot. We shared a house salad, which was fine but not quite as listed on the menu. That was my only issue. My friend loved her spicy tacos. The onion rings were plentiful and really well made. I had the NE clam chowder. It was delicious though next time I'll opt to have it in the sourdough bread bowl. So happy to return to Tracks!

We were watching a show at MSG and decided to grab dinner nearby. This place is literally across the street from MSG so it was very convenient. It was packed but we were able to get seated within minutes. Service was extremely fast too. Second time here and we got the oysters again. Delicious!!! We ended up also getting the platter. Forgot what it was called but it had the mussels, clams, shrimps and oysters. We also got the fish and chips and shrimp tacos. We ate those so fast I forgot to take a pic. It was so tasty!! We were stuffed!! Def will be back again.

We were visiting NYC during Thanksgiving week and wanted to watch the 49ers game. Because of the food options (from pasta, to entrees, seafood etc) we stopped by. Staff was quick and friendly. Calamari was fire! Our 10 year old placed another order. Only why I didnt give 4 star is because management/staff couldn't turn on no other game beside Giants.

I've been a fan of Tracks since they were deep on the Long Island Railroad concourse in Penn Station, but their new (3 years) location is even better. Great selection of oysters, a very reasonable menu, and nice ambiance. Service is great, and you can make it to your train in a couple of minutes, if you're not too weighed down. I highly recommend!

Food was okay, but ambiance was great especially if you want to grab a quick bite before a game or concert at MSG. Service was quick and efficient for the location as well.

The hostess is amazing! Good food and fun place for groups. Perfect for pre concert/games at MSG.

Will reopen in Penn Station in a few more months, according to NY1. I haven't been there in years, but the food, service, and drinks were decent!

It was quite late one evening and we wanted something to eat other than a slice of pizza or fast food. After checking online to see what was open within walking distance, we found this place not far from our hotel. The place wasn't too busy at this time of night (about 10pm) but we were able to get some really good food so we were quite happy. I ordered the shrimp cocktail and a bowl of clam chowder and my brother ordered a New York strip steak with sweet potato fries. We both enjoyed our meals and appreciated the service. Would definitely recommend this place.

Classic sports bar right off Madison Square Garden/Penn Station -- decent selection of beer, great oysters. Staff were welcoming and took care of us right away. Definitely a good spot to stop in before a game/concert or catching the train back home.

Terrific food and service. Hometown bar in a big city atmosphere! I am blown away every time we go before a concert or sporting event. They go out of their way to serve you quickly and with love!

I was walking near Penn and I came across Tracks. I didn't know they moved the restaurant here when they left Penn station. I used to love stopping here when I worked in the city at a previous job. I loved the service here, they were always very accommodating and friendly. The restaurant has lots of seating and bright inside. I started with a chips and salsa which was indicated as "homemade"-the chips were ok but the salsa was meh, tasted like out of a jar. I loved what I ordered after that-the cajun chicken wrap was so delicious. It was chopped like a cheesesteak and mixed with peppers and onions. Not too spicy, perfect amount of spice/heat. The handcut fries were soooooo good too. I love their version of honey mustard, not too sweet and yummy on the wrap and fries. I remembered they used to have really good pickles but the pickle on my plate looked kind of sad lol. I definitely would come back again to try the chicken fingers and other things on the menu.

Probably the only Irish pub that has amazing oysters! It's across the street from Madison Square Garden. Great seafood, burgers and of course traditional Irish fare (Shepherds Pie, Fish & Chips, etc). The Lobster Bisque is to die for, but only served on weekdays. Fun fact: this place used to be underground in Penn Station, so you could grab a pint waiting for your train. Same train-theme persists though now at street level.

Not bad. Cute plush seating for a divey kind of bar. Sort of elevated the feel. LOVE the plates which match the restaurant name...so cute. The servers were great, food came timely and hot, and prices are decent. We ordered: Fish n Chips, Buffalo wings, Black bean chili, & pictured tenders. Fish was large, fries remind me of Shake Shack fries which are sort of scorched so not my type. Chili was a hit and had a nice presentation. The tenders were a unique shape with a nice bread crumb crunch. The honey mustard was different for me as well, but I was so hungry it was good enough to enjoy them! It's located across from PennStation/MSG which could be why it's convenient for the few homeless walking in surprisingly...but they were the ones who can disguise fairly well yet make a scene on their way out the bathroom! I've very disturbed by public restrooms in standard bars anyway knowing non-upscale bars can get all kinds of traffic...you might not want to use the restroom here. Not the type of place I'd choose to go to; some buddies I was with in the area recommended it as we were walking. I didn't gain a reason to return but it wasn't bad, so I can recommend it to people who like nicer divey bars with good music (80s/90s rock).

Great spot to hit up prior to attending any event at MSG. Yummy food and good drinks...you can't really go wrong here. Was in the area since my boyfriend and I were attending a NYR game at the garden. We had some pre-game beers and shots...and calamari. Beers were nice and cold...shots were poured with a heavy hand. No complaints here. Cheers! Calamari was excellent! Nicely breaded and perfectly fried. Flavor was great. It came with regular marinara sauce and a spicy sauce. Spicy sauce all the way. Service was decent. However, we had a few different people as servers. Temperature checks upon arrival. Bathroom was super clean.

Love the design on the plates. Service was great. But ordered the grilled shrimp and avocado salad...it tasted good...yet only four shrimp and not even half an avocado? Come on... Banquettes are nice. 60s-80s pop music.

They do not deserve your business. Awful restaurant with horrendous food, service, and even worse management. Very unaccommodating and aggressive towards patrons.

Ok, not great. Very fast service, even on game night. Oysters were average. Chicken sandwiches and fries a bit better.

We were looking for a place to eat before the Billy Joel Concert at MSG. Very helpful person who answered the phone at Tracks said if we (party of 5) got there by 5:30, would not be a problem. He was correct, though the restaurant filled up quickly after that. Burgers were excellent, fries very good, nice beer selection and served very cold. Service was great, no rush even though they were very busy. Recommend

Don't miss this bar for its convenience to Penn Station & MSG. Great food - Burgers, seafood, RAW BAR! Lots of beer on tap and they keep their lines clean. Wonderful:-)

This is actually the second time I've been here since it changed from cafe 31. The first time it wasn't on yelp so I did not review. However stopped in to try the raw bar. ENTRANCE - as you come in there really isn't anyone to greet you. But in a few a waitress came over to seat us AMBIANCE - cafe 31 had the feel of a real sports bar with pictures of Rangers and Knicks and Giants etc. this place had more of a Railroad feel (hence the name I get it) but the feel was more like a pseudo Irish pub. MENU - not very large and mostly pub and grub with limited choices. The star section was the raw bar choices SERVICE - our waitress was lovely and helpful. If you get Fiona you will be in good hands FOOD/RAW BAR - raw bar fantastic and fresh. The wings in an odd way are in two places. The standard ones are in appetizer section. The better sweet ones are below the raw bar selections. We also tried the fish tacos that were great. Previously we tried the fish and chips which were awful VINO - not great just bar stock Cabernet not a good grade either PRICE - hard to assess probably $$ if you stick to pub food. If you go to raw bar jumps to $$$ or $$$$ depending on what you order OVERALL - a solid 3 1/2 I rounded down due to limited menu, no sports atmosphere and bad fish and chips

Was looking for a place that serves oysters in the area with a decent cocktail menu and the bar staff were rude AF off the bat. Especially the Caucasian bearded man tending the bar. It took them 15 minutes to even get a menu. When I asked for a drink me he said here the taps and here are the bottles and dismissively walked away. His partner in crime, a white woman with platinum blonde hair didn't seem to be too concerned or helpful when I brought it to her attention. I was so turned off that I just got up and left. If you're a young black male, DO NOT come here

Today we came here and got two orders of mussels with white sauce, a chicken parm sandwich, salmon, crab cakes and shepherds pie. The mussels tasted kinda nasty and gave my wife a stomach ache because that's all she ate from there so I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. The shepherds pie tasted like a canned meat and needed some more flavor. The salmon, crab cakes and chicken parm were good. The other thing that annoyed us was the number of flies that were in the restaurant. The service was good and prices aren't bad for the city.

Tracks is really especially lovely, nicer than you'd expect for what, at first assumption, may be a Penn Station commuter bar. With extremely sweet and attentive staff, comfortable decor and great food, it makes sense why the bar is crowded and full of locals. I don't live in the area but can definitely see myself coming back. I'm nobody to you but a random reviewer on the Internet but if my word counts for anything, I highly recommend this bar!

Very disappointed with Tracks this visit ! We had made a reservation for 12 , 5 days ahead. My husband spoke to the manager on the phone and he assured him the reservation was all set. We traveled in from CT for a basketball game and when we arrived at Tracks early for our reservation- they had already given our table away to someone else . The restaurant was full at that point and no place for us . Margaritaville got our business and great service . Won't be going to Tracks again wouldn't recommend it.

Still a great spot! I was afraid between the pandemic, and Penn Station shutting down all of the establishments for building upgrades that they'd just disappear, but no- they've moved out from under Penn Station around the corner and are now located directly across from Madison Square Garden. The new spot has a better layout, better lighting and the food's better too, while the service remained the same, that is, excellent. This is a family favorite establishment so I know we'll be back!

My first time stopping by before the Rangers Penguins game. Awesome spot. Crazy busy as you would expect it to be, considering it's location. For a sports fan, it's a great place to be before or after a game.

You know how you don't fully know how much you value something until it's gone? Well, with corona lockdown, restaurants closing, and trying not to come into city, being cautious and all, I have missed Tracks so much! Even in new location, there is same familiar friendly staff, good food, and a home away from home bar is what Tracks means to me. So happy and thankful to have tracks open again. The limited menu was good but now expanded menu is even better. Definitely appreciating everything about tracks! If COVID-19 has taught us anything, it's to appreciate what we have and not to take what we value for granted. So thank you Tracks for being back!

I LVE this place! Always enjoy the wonderful selection of oysters (and beer) plus I've had the pleasure of some great conversations w/NY locals who frequent this fun, no frills, reasonably priced pub. I always make a point of stopping in when I'm heading to or from Penn Station.

I met a friend here two nights in a row for a quick bite and a beer before going to MSG for a show. The first night I was so impressed by the waitress who could handle a million drink orders at once and still be super friendly. Kudos to her! The food was fine, nothing to write home about but totally serviceable. The next night I made the mistake of walking into the bar with a *GASP* water bottle because I wanted to bring it to the show. The bouncer told me I couldn't bring it in, so no problem, I went outside to put it with all the other discarded water bottles. When I came back in, the bouncer started hassling me about my water bottle. Asking over and over "where did you put your water bottle????!!!!" I've never experienced this at a restaurant where I might pay easily over $60 for an entree and a couple of beers. He came over to my table and demanded to know where I put my water bottle, he was yelling at me. I'm an older adult, well dressed and not used to being yelled at by a bouncer about a water bottle. I told him that I left it outside, which I did. He continued to hassle me. He used stereotypical patriarchal insults at me. I asked him if he thought I was lying about my water bottle and he said, it could happen. Unbelievable. Finally my friend made the peace. When we were leaving i showed the bouncer where I had put my water bottle and then he started abusing me again! Insulting me. WTF is wrong with that guy???? It's good to have a bar/restaurant near MSG but whatever you do DON'T BRING A WATER BOTTLE!!!!! Or the sexist bouncer will abuse you until after you leave. It's too bad because the waitress is awesome and it's a great place to have a snack and a drink before going to MSG.

I have been coming here for decades. it moved across the street from Penn Station. Great meeting/ waiting place. Menu is spectacular as is the atmosphere, food and staff. My favorite bartender has been here since 2003, Theresa. BEST personality ever and the fact that she's been with them for 20 years shows how well they treat their staff. Meet friends here, wait for transportation here or just come to enjoy the establishment! You can't lose.

Funny thing about this place, tucked inside of Penn Station, you'd never know how good it is unless you've actually eaten here. It is a great watering hole for after work commuters who don't want to rush home but need to be near the train. I've been here several times before writing this review and I am totally a fan. They do have a great raw bar. That is what they are known for...so despite appearances, order it. Don't trust me, walk by the raw bar counter just past the alcohol bar and you'll see the guys working hard at shucking and plating. Try the Kumamoto and Blue Point Oysters and/or the Cherrystone clams. Yum. I am a fan of the NE Clam Chowder (soup) and the salads (namely the scallop one or Bluefin Tuna). Always good choices - I've tried it many times. And one can never go wrong w/ the burger, it is a grill place too. Other good eats, the crab cake appetizer and fried calamari. And I am partial to the Shepard's Pie. Love that combo of mash (potato) and meat. See you at Penn Station, Tracks Raw Bar and Grill!

If ever there was a friendly bar this is it. It's clean with well portioned delicious food. The crowds are very different depending on when you visit, for example there is an after work crowd and an after hockey game crowd you could imagine there is quite a difference. The owners of this establishment have been doing this for a long time and are very good at what they do. Highly recommend!

Tough...we were on our way to a concert across the street. The service was EXCEPTIONAL but the food was sub par. The high ratings were confusing. The baked clams were strangely breaded (but not terrible), the ribs were pure fat, the homemade mozzarella sticks were thick and cold - unenjoyable, but the onion rings were pretty fantastic. Tough review to write but true to experience.

Solid place, glad a customer suggested we go! They just opened across from MSG and it was easy to get a table. Known for fresh seafood, we ordered the clam chowder in the bread bowl. Very good. The nachos to start were also good to share- not the best I ever had but good. I also tried the chicken sandwich, the bread was fresh and delicious and the waffle fries were perfectly seasoned! I'd recommend if you're in the area- we didn't feel rushed out, service was very slow and relaxed which didn't bother me as we weren't in a rush.

When my wife and I visted NYC, we always came down to Penn Station on Amtrak. After discovering Tracks, it was always our very first stop in the city. We loved the atmosphere, the long bar and especially the oysters and French Onion soup. However, they have relocated outside of the station, and the new location is more like a Kirby's or typical chain restaurant with multiple TV's on and 70s-80s rock music playing. The intimacy is gone, and although they still have the oysters, it seems less special than it used to. We are sad for the loss of our once special bar.

Oh wow. What a neat new find and right by Penn station. The martinis are huge and filled to the top. Perfect. the oysters were fabulous. Bartenders are very friendly. They tend to stay at one bar as opposed to circulate to the two bars so you might have to strain to get their attention. The chicken wings were fabulous and oh that blue cheese dressing I would go back just for more of that. It was chunky and thick and perfect love to get that on a salad. Went there to watch the college national championship football game. Lots of TVs. The only criticism is they need to turn the sound on when they have a big game. The place was pretty empty. And I think that might be the reason just my two. Cents..
