"This relatively new deli in Bishop Arts is an instant classic for lunch. It’s got sandwiches galore, from a hot and cold menu. First timers, go for the cold sliced mortadella or the hot NYC pastrami." - Courtney E. Smith

This place has cute coming out the wazoo. Great spot in Bishop Arts. I had a smoky lox on an everything bagel with sprouts, cucumber, capers, and schmear. Overall, pretty great place. The coffee was delicious, but I agree with the other reviews - too much cream cheese. And yes, the bagel is hard. This might just be the style of bread and how they serve it. If you like Einstein Bros Bagels, you may not necessarily like this place but that's okay.

Google
One of the BEST pastrami sandwiches I’ve had in a long time! Reminds me of Katz in NY but Trades had the smoky Texas flavor! So good. Order it! You won’t regret it!

Google
I move to Dallas 4 years ago and that taste and ambiance of NY I don't even found till now. I visit the place was like a real Bronx, NY Italian deli or bodega that I miss a lot. I try their Bagel Lox that's transport me to the level of taste of Kossars or Zabbars in NY... And I find out that they make real breads and baguette and also a fresh made sausage and pastrami like Katz delicatessen... And the service is like I feel like NY, like home!

Google
It’s a Sunday I called right at 7 am to ask about the menu - the person who answered was very short with me and rude She started to tell me how she barely opened and nothing is on almost like scolding me for calling at 7 - I’m like that’s why you have an open and close time ?? I started to tell her that I’ve been awake since 430 am and we got hungry and saw that you were open - not sure why I have to explain myself Then I asked her about the online menu and she just said it’s in the menu and I was I don’t see that She was getting upset as I can tell with her sound of her voice so I just told her I’ll look further online . We spent $80 dollars there !!! The food was not edible- the bagels where probably days old since she just got there at 7 - they were very very very very hard and chewy - had to throw them away - we couldn’t chew it - the Italian beef just had beef and bread dry as a hot Texas summer …..our coffee was cold - very very disappointing Will not be eating anything from there again

Google
Friendly service and tasty food— From the decor to the napkins, you could tell they put a lot of thought into designing the space. Their bagels are pretty good — I prefer a chewier, less “bready” bagel for them to be great. You should definitely check them out. I can’t wait to come back.

The streets are horrible. Homeless people everywhere. Potholes everywhere. No parking AT ALL. If there is parking you have to pay an insured amount to park. The deli itself had its doors and windows open because there’s absolutely no AC! It was hot and muggy inside. Filthy looking and floors were sticky. The menu had basic items that were extremely OVERPRICED! Absolutely disgusting 🤮 Wouldn’t recommend this to a blind person! The blueberry bagel I got with the cinnamon cream whip was so basic! Actually I’m positive the bagel was stale because I saw the server grab it from the wall that it was hanging from. The bagel was $6.50!!! What the heck? DISGUSTING 🤮

Google
This local place is a gem. The food is delicious and staff friendly. It can be hard to find a place to sit as it's pretty small inside. We got a meatball sub and the Cajun chicken salad sandwich and both were incredible. Highly recommend this delicatessen making Bishop Arts the go to spot for shopping small and local.

Melissa Nikohl

Google
I tried the pastrami, egg, and cheese, on an onion bagel. And I picked up the Italian sub. Both were so good. The bagel and bread were fresh and made in house. I'll definitely be back to try more.

Yelp
Super friendly staff and one of the best sandwiches I've had in Dallas! I got the Rueben with a side of potato salad, both were fantastic. Would recommend to anyone looking for a lunch spot in Bishop Arts.

Yelp
I never knew that a bagel could be a revelation...and then I had the pastrami egg & cheese breakfast sandwich from Trader's Deli. Next level. The bacon egg & cheese was also tasty. But the pastrami has kept me coming back. Succulent, tender and not-too-thinly sliced. I've sent a couple others to this deli since, and gotten more pastrami sandwiches myself. And one dangerous hot tip: you can get the sliced pastrami by the pound, if a body is so inclined. I've only done online orders, which have been easy. The space looks very bright and inviting, one day I"ll actually dine in and work my way through other menu items once I can get over this pastrami addiction.

Caitlyn T.

Yelp
If you are a bagel and lox / coffee lover GO HERE Most amazing everything bagel I've ever tried. Really good ligit pastrami too. Decor and vibe is just perfect, everything we tried was incredible. They have amazing fresh pressed orange juice. I could drink a gallon. All around a really cool place.

Yelp
This would be my favorite morning place, if they could figure out how to refine their food. There is nowhere else I throw away most of what I buy to eat because it's just not edible or appetizing. Over months of visits, the staff seems more pleasant more often. Service remains hit and miss still -- the same folks still pay more attention to each other than the customer experience. Like one lowering trousers to show personal bits to front of house coworkers isn't exactly appetizing or gradeA. Food wise, mostly very good pastries! But contrast that with steamed milk placed cold in a cortado, and forgetting kolaches, burning them and saying "just eat it. I'm sure it's fine" -- immature service without supervision to train to fix it. Insufferable. Then multiple gloppy over mayonnaise'd egg sandos. A banh mi that's more floppy pig fat than crispy pork belly? Pastrami that's too salty and flabby to eat. Is Rachael Ray the recipe developer? Loving that vintage color palette and that everything matches the espresso machine, plus their own beer next door for cool points. Still Ideation outweighs execution at Trades in 2025.

Heather V.

Yelp
A big NOPE from me. The location is perfect and the girl who took our order was very friendly. It's hard to mess up a turkey sandwich but they sorta did. For $15, it was very small, had 2 pieces of bacon on the whole thing, and the sauce was so bland I couldn't taste it (the garlic aioli) most places with delicatessen in the name have stuffed, oversized sandwiches, that two people could easily share......but I left feeling hungry and needing more food. I would pass on this place.

Yelp
Came on a Saturday around 4:30p.m. the parking was plentiful and plenty full. The staff was super friendly and greeted us when we got to the counter. The place has a very cool vibe inside. You can see the walls lined with their house picked pickles and veggies. We let our cashier know that it was our first time. She recommended the French dip or anything with pastrami. I went with the Italian Beef sandwich since I'm on a hunt to try all the ones I can in the area. My wife ordered the egg salad sandwich since they were out of chicken salad. She also ordered the matcha lemonade and I ordered the arnold palmer. Both drinks were very good. The food we got to go. When I got home and tried the sandwich I was a little let down by the overall flavor. I guess I have come to expect a little more heat from giardiniera. The portion is plenty filling and they definitely give plenty of beef. The giardiniera did offer a nice crunch. My wife said her egg salad sandwich had a nice twist on it with a hint of lemon in every bite. I'm not generally in this area of town but glad I came. If in the area I'll stop by again.

Yelp
Oooo Trades is fabulous. Cute exterior, cozy interior. Wonderful service. An array of bagels, hot or cold sandwiches, and, house smoked lox and meats. Absolutely delicious was my "Italian Beef" on this visit - so tasty was their perfectly braised beef, the right amount of giardiniera, and, beautiful beef broth. WBB often! CHEERS!

Jocy R.

Yelp
Trades has easily become one of my go to bagel spots! The service was nice when we first went and it kept us coming back! I've become attached to their pastrami bagel sandwich, which I get on an everything bagel, while my boyfriend goes for their sausage, egg, and cheese! The bagels are fresh and fluffy and their meat is delightful! The shop itself is decorated very cute! Perfect for a photo op! It also sits between Ladylove and Oddfellows making it a great place to grab a bite and walk to explore the bishop arts area! Highly recommend going during the week to beat the traffic and crowds I know that it will bring!

Yelp
Got the cured smoked salmon bagel with herb and garlic cream cheese. The salmon was way too salty and parts of it was brown and tough (Not cool). I like salt but that was enough to give me high blood pressure. I wanted to like this spot and buy more of their smoked salmon but I got a major headache after eating 1/2 the bagel. I'm so sad it's such a cute place.

Sarah P.

Yelp
Excellent sandwiches, great sides. They have a bigger menu than I first realized - coffee shop with baked goods as well as the breakfast and lunch/dinner sandwiches (both hot and cold). Great patio if the weather is nice.

Sabrina K.

Yelp
Trades was a complete miss for me. As I was waiting in line, a gentleman approached and took my order on a digital device. I ordered the lox bagel and added all the topping options. He asked me to repeat. I repeated the order, naming each individual topping. He asked me to repeat the order three more times. It wasn't loud, crowded, or busy enough for this back and forth. Eventually, he said he didn't know how to work the ordering device. I received my order. It was completely wrong. I asked for it to be remade and showed my receipt. I was given a new bagel sandwich. Again, it's completely wrong. I was so hungry that I decided to just eat it and go about my business. The bagel itself is more like a baguette than a NY style bagel. Fail. While I was waiting for my second bagel, an employee handed me cookies as a "sorry for the wait." Absolutely inedible unless you like,"burnt" as a flavor profile. Napkins are almost non-existent, the "why are you bothering me" attitude was a major turnoff, and the lack of attention to the food orders isn't worth another visit. Nice place. Mediocre food. Below average customer service.

Jacqueline T.

Yelp
Great bagel sandwich and coffee! Love the over all esthetic and vibe of both the deli and brewery. Friendly service on both sides as well!

Dez V.

Yelp
I ordered the roast beef and it was very good. The bread was so fresh. I ordered from door dash. Disappointed that they didn't put pickles on it like I asked or mustard.

Shane S.

Yelp
This place is going to do extremely well. Wide sandwich assortment, in house roasted coffee, bagels made fresh in house daily and a cool trendy feel. The bagels weren't chewy like a NY bagel but they're pretty good. Plenty of toppings, good size, and plenty of cream cheese. The coffee was just okay, but definitely had a good roasted flavor to it. They share a kitchen with the gastropub next door. Overheard that they use it until 3 and then the gastropub opens up thereafter. You'll find a shared bathroom along with it but the difference of opening hours seems to work perfectly. Prices are on par for the norm of this type of establishment. A but less than 10 two seater tables inside, a handful of counter seats and a few tables outside as well.

Joanna D.

Yelp
The pastrami breakfast sandwich is the best thing I've eaten in a long time. The lady at the counter was friendly and the place was overall very cute. I will definitely be back!

Michelle C.

Yelp
Got the Pastrami Ruben and for a $20 sandwich it was extremely dry, fatty and unimpressive. Unfortunately really not worth it. Also got the NYC pastrami and that was mostly fat.

Aaron G.

Yelp
Great service here. They make a lot of the breads in house as well from flour that the staff mills. They have a fall of pantry items such as sardines, oils, honey, and coffee.

Arti L.

Yelp
THE BEST SPOT IN TOWN FOR BAGELS ! service is amazing and the environment is super great Highly recommend!!!!

Ebony E.

Yelp
Nice choice for lunch! Very fresh ingredients. And great portions. I loved the bread. The staff was kind and patient. An overall peaceful ambiance. Great place to step out and clear your mind over a great sandwich.

Sarah P.

Yelp
Wow. 10/10. This spot is a must try for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. I love sandwiches and soup and this place hit the spot. The mushroom melt has a broth dip and let me tell you I was amazed by how delicious it was. It is flavor town. I'll be coming back again to explore the rest of the menu. As for the ambiance, it's like bistro seating and they play jazz music. It's a relaxing spot to grab delicious food. I am so impressed !!

Cristina E.

Yelp
I had high hopes for this place, they gave more attention to their aesthetics than they do to their food. Let's start with the friendliness of the staff, it was only 10 AM so way before rush-hour and the person taking our order already seemed annoyed st taking our basic order and was unwelcoming. I ordered two bagel breakfast sandwiches, and both of them were an absolute disappointment. The sausage patty was so dry. You would've thought it was something frozen. I honestly would've rather had a Jimmy Dean sandwich. It was also a very small sandwich for $8.50. I had a friend who wanted to trade out the American cheese for the cream cheese and instead of doing the trade they just charged her an additional three dollars even though she didn't even get the American cheese. For $3 you can get a whole tub at the store . As a local I'll never be giving them a dime again. Also, you have to laugh at the fact that for the lox bagel they charge $.50 per topping and that includes tomatoes, onions and everything else that usually comes with a lox bagel . Gotta laugh at that cheapness in a restaurant

Lina G.

Yelp
Pretty solid deli in the Bishop Arts area. Parking is a disaster, so you may need to find a spot farther away and walk to get here. However, the shop is super adorable and the staff were welcoming and personable. I tried the Italian sandwich and matcha lemonade and I have 0 complaints. The match lemonade was a surprising blend of flavors I would have never put together, while the sandwich was the perfect proportion of meat and veggies. Can't wait to go back!

Stacie G.

Yelp
This place was great! I enjoyed the charm, the customer service and of course the food. I wish we would have come across this place earlier in our visit because we would have definitely gone back. The unique snacks and freshly made food is just so hard to find in today's trendy food scene. This a a must visit if you're in Dallas area.

Cortland B.

Yelp
Incredible Deli! Well done food and dining room mixed with great service making a delightful ambiance.

Matthew W.

Yelp
Bagels and baked goods are outstanding. Staff can be very rude. I asked for some extra peppers for my sandwich amd it was like I had offended the cashier who proceeded to argue they don't have them? Was very strange.

Joyce M.

Yelp
Ambiance was great, love the decor and that there were provisions for sale. Service was tops. I ordered the Italian cold sandwich which I rate a 4 star. First, I was excited to see oil and vinegar with the Italian sub. So I didn't look at anything else on the menu. Then, I was surprised to find mayo in this Italian sub. Being from NYC/LI, I grew up eating Italian subs with semolina bread with garlicky and herby oil and vinegar. Sometimes the sub is too dry, but it's all good because there's oil and vinegar that I dip into on the side. If you're rolling your eyes, I know I'm in Texas, but IYKYK. The bread did not hold up to the cold cuts, cheese, lettuce and tomato. Being that the inside of the sandwich was tasty and was piled nicely, I couldn't downgrade it that much. Would I order it again? Yes, but without the mayo & extra oil & vinegar on the side to dip so the bread can hold the sandwich up a little better. All up, it's a good sandwich.

Brenden K.

Yelp
I came in to visit on a Wednesday morning and there was no one else in here so I was in and out relatively quick. I read the reviews about the terrible service but the person who took my order and payment was very friendly. I ordered the pastrami breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel. It was excellent. I love the thick cut pastrami. The bagel was good. Not chewy like traditional New York style bagels, but it was soft and delicious. Would definitely order this again. I also ordered the roast beef sandwich, and it was fine, not great. Roast beef was kind of dry and overcooked. I'm more of a rare/medrare roast beef kind of guy. Will be trying something else next time. Only other issue was that while I was waiting for my food to be prepared, I glanced into the deli counter and saw that their salmon that they had in there had a bunch of mold growing on it. Not a great look. The woman took it away immediately. But it didn't really put me in a hungry mood.

Nicholas P.

Yelp
Amazing fresh sandwiches. The food was ready quickly and we took the order to go but the interior was designed super cool! Will definitely return for breakfast !

Nini N.

Yelp
Such a cute little shop to hang out at away from the Dallas heat. Though, i would recommend parking somewhere else and walking here. The bagel (as you can see) is stuffed, every bite was full and i had things slippin and slidin out. It was messy to eat but it was so worth it. Absolutely fabulous bagel. The workers at the counter were informative and answered any questions i had involving the menu. Overall, i would love to eat here again.

Paul E.

Yelp
It was a bit pricey for what it is. But you gotta pay to eat good now a days . 1 thing I didn't like too much was how hard there bread was. When ur sandwich doesdoesn't have the texture your liking it will kill the whole sandwich. The bagel with a smear was pretty nice. They loaded the bagel with cream cheese lol . But again the bagel was a lil but hard to bite off your bite.

Zeke D.

Yelp
Had the meatball sandwich. Incredible. Great balance of sauce and served on a French roll. Many hot and cold sandwiches to choose from....

Loan B.

Yelp
Husband picked up lunch. He got the reuben sandwich I got the Italian beef. YUMMY.! Cute spot!

Keela C.

Yelp
Pricey but delicious! I will return to try more. Nothing special about the service or ambiance but this place is good.

Liz S.

Yelp
I truly don't understand this spot or their sister brewery next door. The offerings are great and both have good potential but each time I've been, the staff is SO rude. It's pretty wild because it's not just one employee, it's all but one that I have interacted with. With so many great spots in OC, I would like for them to survive but I think twice about bringing my business here based on attitudes. Please be a little nicer, Trades! I want to love you.

Matt T.

Yelp
Outstanding food and great service. Tried the tuna sandwich earlier this week and it was top notch. Today, I decided to stop by for breakfast. Both the sausage egg and cheese bagel and the everything bagel with schmear exceeded my expectations! So happy this place has joined the neighborhood.

Maddox M.

Yelp
I ordered to go because I had been wanting to try this place and hadn't had a chance to drop in. The sandwich was amazing!! I've literally been craving the Pub Bourdain ever since!!! Absolutely divine. Great new sandwich spot in Oak Cliff!!

Nate M.

Yelp
Listen I love good food no matter the price but what I can't handle is bad service. There is a lady that works the to go counter(short, white, blondish/redish hair) that is very rude. She will not acknowledge you, ask you if you have an order or even if you need help

Hector C.

Yelp
As far as aesthetics go, this place is in the smack middle of an art district that owns the "modern-contemporary sandwich shop" look. With a peaceful ambiance, they offer all sorts of bagels combos, pastries such as cookies, sweet bread, and tiramisus. The order I went for was a chicken pesto panini with a side of their tomato soup and a chocolate chip cookie. The panini was so savory and combined with the tomato soup, turned brunch into a fascinating food experience. Food was top notch, but I was just not a fan of pets indoors near my food. Highly recommend!

Caroline E.

Yelp
Turkey melt was a hit. Loved the crunch and cheesiness. Turkey was amazing. Overall great sandwich! Italian sandwich was nothing to write home about but a solid effort on a classic staple! (Get the turkey melt over the Italian)

Dave L.

Yelp
Was really excited to hear about this, but my first experience there left me feeling like there was a lot they needed to tweak. Came in on a weekend morning and was really hungry, hadn't eaten yet. Got a bagel, cream cheese and smoked salmon bagel and a bottle of sparkling water. They charge for every minor topping. If I wasn't ravenously hungry I would have made better note of this before ordering, so that's on me for basically getting the works. Anyway, once you order, then they've got their tipping presets to percentages usually reserved for full-service restaurants. Total price for my bagel and water, including an 18 percent tip: $27. They don't charge this much for lox bagels in New York City. Then, even though there were like eight people working there, they just left my bagel sitting there out on a counter, didn't call my name or anything and it's not like it was busy. Finally realized that was my bagel sitting there, got it and went back to my seat, and realized I didn't have any napkins. None to be found anywhere, and when I asked for some they acted like they were being put upon. Keep in mind *they preset their payment like you're at a full-service restaurant* and then get mad you ask for napkins. Bagel itself was fine. They just need to halve the price and dial down the attitude about 90 percent and maybe I'll be back.

Aiden F.

Yelp
I loved this spot, service was fast, food was great and the atmosphere was warm. Felt like home; I got the classic bacon, egg and cheese with an everything bagel. Clean establishment and great place to get some work done.

Karissa T.

Yelp
I cannot say enough great things about this place. I had an everything bagel with veggie cream & tomato and a latte. It was literally so good that I went back that same day and ordered 2 more bagels, I'm not proud of that but just goes to show how good they are. The cream cheese, the veggie, ugh chefs kiss! I would've gotten a pic but it looked so good that I forgot to take one. This cost me a little more than $6 not bad at all. They definitely have a returning customer.

Randy A.

Yelp
Tried this place yesterday. Ordered the chicken panini, sausage sandwich, broccoli salad and potato salad. Sad to say we threw away most of this $45 lunch. The chicken panini was not bad, the sausage sandwich was terrible. The salads were ok, but way too much Mayo, and a very bland flavor. Everyone was nice and friendly, but service was incredibly slow. It would have been worth it for great food, but it was not.

Samuel T.

Yelp
Be careful. They have their point ot sale ststem set for full tip and there is not full service. Food was ok but two sandwiches shouldnt be $35.

Rachel C.

Yelp
AMAZING! I have been waiting for a bagel and casual sandwich shop to open in our area. I loved the bagel and the cream cheese was seriously the best veggie spread I have had. I will definitely be back and love this place! YOU NEED TO TRY! If the bagel is this good I can't wait to try the lunch options. The staff was very friendly.

Taylor C.

Yelp
Italian Beef & Chicken sandwich was great. Whoever the cashier during lunch service on 2/17 was extremely rude. Pretty much threw our sides at us onto the counter and acted as if it was such an inconvenience to do his job. Was excited to come here for the first time but but service made our visit a bit uncomfortable and unenjoyable.
