Trap Vegan

Excellent vegan joint with a decent variety of burgers, as well as salads and smoothies. I had the DBoy and my mom grabbed the What's Beef (though stripped down) along with a shared order of Deep Fried Cauliflower (we chose the Spicy Garlic and Trap Sauce to go with it on the side). We both loved our Burgers, Cauliflower was also super delicious, and the sauces are a really nice touch, something you can personalize depending on your taste. Inside decor is a little simple but sitting outside and enjoying the sunset and street scene was good fun. Overall, we had a great meal and I'm hoping to go back and try a few other items while we're in Detroit.

This is by far the best vegan burger I have ever had!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not even vegan but I'd eat the soul survivor everyday if we lived closer lol. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Keep up the great job!! Definitely recommend this place!!!

I love their vegan burgers and I’m not vegan. The food is always deliciously prepared while you wait. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is always clean. Each time I ‘v e visited someone was either wiping off fixtures, sweeping, or mopping. I go every Friday for a Soul Survivor or D Boy. My husband switched up and ordered the loaded nachos. He loved it!! Don’t forget to order one of the smoothies. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

First time here! I’m so blown away at how good the food was that I’m writing this review while eating my food in the parking lot still! I ordered a coco smoothie & the sliders with a side of trap sauce …. oh my lanta! They’re prepared so perfectly, I really thought I was eating meat for a second!! So good , can’t wait to come back & try more!

Trap Vegan is fire! I could eat here every single day. I've tried many items on the menu and I've never been disappointed. The staff is friendly. There is often a wait here so pack your patience. In my opinion they may have the best burgers in metro Detroit. No offense to some of my other spots.

Heard about this spot on Instagram and a family member. I couldn't wait to visit. I finally took a trip to Detroit and made it a point to visit for lunch. First, street parking is available in the front of the store so good luck if u can get a spot. When you walk into the store it was nice and clean. There were two ways to place an order, one being via a kiosk where you can place your own order and pay via Credit/debit or the second was at the register with an employee. I place my order and waited for about 15 to 20 minutes to receive my food. I did order the slider meal with a $.75 upcharge for extra pickles which I don't think I received because there were a total of four pickles between the 2 sliders. After taking the first bite of the slider, it was slightly too salty for my taste but I think it was the vegan cheese. The tots were good. Otherwise the slider meal was filling I feel the price for $20 was slightly high. I think also there should be a station where people can get their own side condiments like Ketchup/mustard packets etc. Overall not bad.

A little disappointed by the experience as a vegan tbh, looking at the lovely reviews and for the price of $16.5 (without fries) i was expecting to be blown away. Ordered the ‘Slider meal’ and was just good. I asked for water and its a $1 fee. The burger itself is $16.5 without fries. Probably $20-$22 with fries. Thats a ton of money for 1 burger. I think they can do a better job with pricing as i didnt feel i got the value of what i paid for.

Staff was kind and welcoming upon arrival, even tho they were busy and it was all hands on deck. I got the sliders … arguably one of the best vegan patties I’ve ever had. All the toppings were on point … the ‘cheese’ melted to perfection… beautiful bun. Side of curly fries were also divine. Thanks for the lunch.

Always takes to long but it's vegan and I'm desperate at this point smh so I accept the crumbs they give and I guess it just won't ever change cause they always packed

Delicious vegan quick food with the nicest staff and delicious food. My friend and I split the cauliflower with buffalo sauce and the 2 slider meal with curly fries. The cauliflower was fried perfectly but didn't feel heavy. They make their meatless patties in-house and they were AMAZING. The curly fries were seasoned so well and were so crispy. We also tried their trap sauce (reminded us of thousand island dressing) their spicy ranch (very good!). Their drinks are homemade teas and very refreshing. I hope to be back soon to try more goodies!

It would be 5 stars but there are few things that bothered me enough to remove one star. First, there are no prices on the menu so I was a little shocked how much I had to pay for 2 burgers and two sides of fries. Even after we said it's a dine in, they packaged everything in the containers so it's was a little hard to eat. There is no such a thing of tap water. I assume majority of people do takeout so they ate not really prepared for a dine in experience. The prices are definetly on a high side. The wait was pretty long but when we finally got our sandwiches I have to say, these were probably the best vegan burgers we had so far in restaurants. I had the bbq Jackfruit sandwich with sweet potato fries with added cinnamon sugar. My husband got the What's Beef with curly fries. I love that there is vegan place like this with such amazing burgers I belive many people that eat there are not even vegan! We need to show more people that vegan food is delicious! I don't think I'll be back often as the prices are too high.

Best vegan sliders I've ever had. The trap vegan salad regularly has the freshest greens regardless of what's in season. It can be a little busy so give yourself plenty of time when ordering pick-up. Thanks for making great food!

Been meaning to try this spot for ages and finally did yesterday. They did not disappoint! We got the d-boy (think western burger but vegan), fried cauliflower, fries, and a Pom berry smoothie. The burger patty was delicious, meaty, one of the best vegan burger patties I've ever tasted. We opted for the sauce on the side for our fried cauliflower so we could try more than one, I loved the spicy vegan ranch. It had just a kiss of heat and was creamy and delicious. The other we tried was Caribbean jerk, it was smoky and smooth and sweet. The cauliflower pieces were smaller, perfect for dipping with a nice crunch of breading. The fries were a thinner cut, and not too crispy or too soft. The Pom berry smoothie was my favorite part. Holy smokes was it delicious, if you love cranberry like I do this is a must try. Service was prompt, even though the place was hella busy with standing room only. It took about 15 minutes to get our meal. Everything was neatly packed in compostable containers in a brown bag with handles. I would recommend this place for take out rather than sit down, their seating area is tiny (2 2 tops and a bar for 4) so maybe best nabbed on your way home or to a lovely park on a nice day of your choosing. As I mentioned, it was standing room only when we went... and it wasn't even a meal time! It was around 3 o'clock! Can we say popular and thriving? Prices are a little on the high side, but with everything made fresh to order and in house I'm not mad about it at all. (Our bill for a burger, fries, cauliflower, and smoothie was about 45$ + tip) Give em a shot and support a local, small, black owned business!

10/10 for a vegan burger. Honestly can not tell that it's vegan. Great flavor and pairs well with the toppings. ~$15 for the burger, kinda pricey but well worth it for the taste! Also got the truffle fries. You can tell it's freshly fried but didn't taste special to me. Would probably try their sweet potato fries next time. Overall, a great place, would return.

Got the soul survivor burger. Very good and tasted like a real burger at a fancy-ish restaurant. It was a bit expensive for the amount/quantity given but it satisfied the craving for a burger. Service was good and what I really liked about the place was that everyone seemed to know everyone else and it was like a big family not only between employees but also employees and customers and between customers themselves. What a nice collegial atmosphere with great food. Unique place. Good food. Would be back.

I had the barbecue burger! It was good! I definitely would love to try other things on the menu! I had a smoothie also and you can add in any extra ingredients like protein, vitamins and supplements. The inside was nice and there parking on the side of the building. Our food came out fast and hot so service was fast and efficient! Thank you for the food!

It is one of the best vegan spots in the city of Detroit. It has very good nachos, very good hamburgers, great smoothies, and great vegetarian bowls. I love how quick they are. The service is excellent; order online or in person. I will return

My friends got soul survivor and I got the sliders- we've been vegetarian & vegan for so long now and we all agreed these were some of the best vegan burgers we've ever had! The curly fries were pretty good too.

I like this place a lot. My vegan sister can eat here frequently and I can't say that about other vegan places. The sweet potato pie was one of my favorite desserts. I frequently enjoy the jackfruit bowl and nachos. The juice was good, looking forward to trying their smoothies. Wish they stayed open until 9pm. :) Update: leftovers were great. their food tastes good cold.

The service was a bit slow but well worth it. And even though I needed a jillion napkins the food was delicious. I'm a caffeine addict but the strawberry passion fruit tea was really good. If you're in the area and want some good food you need to stop there.

Ordered from DoorDash and did not disappoint. The biggest allure here is their vegan burgers. I tried the D. Boy as did a coworker..... Oooooohhhh Mmmyyyyy Gaaaaaaawwwwwddd!!!! One of the best vegan burgers I had in a while. My coworker who not vegan really enjoyed it. She said she could eat a burger and not feel guilty about it later. But it's sooo indulgent. I don't know what sorcery they do to their brioche buns to make them vegan but a home run. Their curly fries and trap sauce( their version of a fission dressing I think) was also pretty good. She enjoyed one of their smoothies too. Over great first try and looking forward to coming back again!

I want to start out saying, I'm not vegan. I love meat! MEEEEEEEEEEAT!!! I had this delivered door dash so my review is for food only not service. After a long bout with covid my stomach has been a little shaky. Due to that I've been adjusting my diet to find things that sit well, while I nurse this. Started out with a "whats beef " .... Insert shocked emoji... I would have bet money this burger was beef. I looked at it twice, revisited the menu to ensure it wasn't beef... it's that darn good shocked emoji again. I ordered tater tots which I think the price was a bit much for basic tater tots. They were good though but never again. I lastly had an Incredible Hulk smoothie which .... Yep loved it to!! Am I vegan now??? I think I'm vegan now. This was an awesome meal. My stomach approved of it all and I'm quite full.

Amazing burger! My husband and I both got the Soul Survivor. The burger was so delicious. My husband is a meat eater and he couldn't stop talking about how great the burger was. The truffle fries were good too. We got a smoothie as well and it was perfect. Highly recommend.

I had been seeing that Trap Vegan opened up every time I drove down Livernois so I decided to try... I'm not a vegan, but I definitely wanted to try a smoothie because right now I have drive a little bit further to get to my favorite smoothie chain and I'd love to have a closer place to go instead! I'd say call in your order instead of using the online order system because there was a little bit of confusion with my order when I got there, but the folks there were super nice and they put together my "Soul Survivor" impossible burger and my "Detroit Hottie" smoothie quickly. My burger was pretty good. My smoothie wasn't quite as good as my favorite smoothie chain but it was probably less sugared up and better for me! I only wish they had a wider straws to drink my smoothie a little faster. My burger, onion rings and smoothie cost about $25... not cheap, but vegan food is usually a little more expensive. They had a few other options though... salads, bowls, and a large variety of smoothies and they were more than accommodating so check them out if you're in the area!

Ordered from here on door dash today and I was blown away. Ordered the soul survivor, fried cauliflower, curly fries, and a chia chia smoothie. It was all really good but the burger was especially amazing. The textures and flavors were perfect.

Tried this place for the first time tonight. We ordered around 7:10 and our order wasn't ready until about 8:15 - the automated system says food will be ready in 20 minutes, but that didn't seem to be the case, so just plan ahead- Trap Vegan was worth the wait! We tried the D Boy and What's Beef Burgers, fried cauliflower, and truffle fries (we wanted to try the tots, loaded nachos, and sweet potato fries but they were out). Both burgers were great! I thought the D boy was especially well-seasoned. I regretted having the cauliflower tossed in sauce and then taking it home. It got a little soggy. I should have either eaten there or gotten the sauce separately. Still, the sauce was great and I didn't have any trouble finishing it. The truffle fries were seasoned well- not an overwhelming amount of truffle, just enough. Overall I'll definitely be back, and I'm hoping to try more menu items

My husband and I finally tried this restaurant! We shared the Soul Survivor burger with Truffle Fries and the Loaded Nachos. We were very pleased with the taste of all of our food. My husband felt like the burger could've had a little more seasoning but he still liked it and said we'd return again. The inside is small with limited seating but there are several high tops inside if you so choose. It appeared clean inside and the staff all seemed to be pleasant. We will try this place again soon... they have several more burgers for us to try. Price-wise... yeah it's a little pricey and fries are sold separate but the food is good so we'll be back.

I was very excited to try Trap vegan because I saw multiple post on Tik Tok. I had back to back meetings so I ordered via Uber Eats. I selected the Soul survivor burger with curly fries and a K. Rae special smoothie. The burger comes with pepper Jack, caramelized onions, mushrooms and trap sauce. My delivery lady called to say they didn't have curly fries so they were going to substitute truffle fries. When my order arrived it was regular tater tots which tasted like they were fresh out of a bag. The burger was ok. There wasn't a lot of flavor in the burger but the trap sauce was delicious! The smoothie was also great. I'm not sure I'll be back but I can at least say I've had them.

I'm not a vegan, but I tried their BBQ Jackfruit bowl and Magic potion smoothie which were delicious! It was also my first time trying jackfruit and I was not disappointed. I would definitely go again!

Best damn vegan burger that ever touched these vegan lips!!! Looked like a burger, tasted like a burger, the cheese was all gooey and the bun was fresh! My non-vegan husband was definitely impressed, and said he would drive back there to get another one of those damn good burgers! We came from Ypsilanti, and I so wish we had something like this place by us! The sauces were pretty spectacular also! We will see you soon

I just had the best vegan burger ever and it's called the D-Boy. The patty was flavorful,the pickles were juicy, the lettuce and tomato's were fresh and the secret sauce was second to none. Make sure you get the truffle fries. I eat vegan all the time in Cali but this place was hitting different for the best.

Trap Vegan is the truth. Went today for the first time and loved everything. I had the D Boy. My husband had the Soul Survivor. We shared Tater Tots and a sweet tea. It was so delicious! Seating is limited especially since it is cold out. The place does get packed and a line will form but even though the food is made fresh, the wait is not long. The woman who took our order was very friendly. We loved it and will be back.

I know, we have a lot of Vegan burgers from restaurants, and frankly I'm tired of the limited options. I don't always want to go to the restaurant as a Vegan where my only options are salads, impossible/beyond burger and MAYBE fries depending on how they are cooked. Sigh... But one of the places I do go to when I want burgers, fries, a smoothie thats Vegan, I go to Trap Vegan. Now sometimes the wait time can be a bit much depending on what's going on. But it's a small restaurant and they are handling a lot of orders (I've worked in some restaurants, and I get it). However, if you have some time to spare, and don't mind splurging, check out Trap Vegan. The food is quite delicious. I typically get the mushroom burger, the jalapeño one, and the BBQ burger with a smoothie. Last time I got the Soul Survivor burger with truffle fries, and the Coco smoothie. I ate it up, and was satisfied with every bite. I almost couldn't finish it. But I was determined! I was going to finish it! And I did! While it is pricey (I blame other issues that contribute to the price of Vegan meals), it's a nice treat and you get to eat some recents sides like the fries I mentioned or this friend jerked cauliflower my friend had which was good. So all in all, I think it's worth it. One other thing, parking is a pain which is why I usually order through delivery apps. Finding a decent parking spot is my main issue, but it's not enough to lower the score as far as I'm concerned. Check them out if you haven't already.

If I didn't know it was vegan... I would not have been able to tell. This was THE BEST vegan burger I have ever had. I had the sliders. My husband had the 'whats beef' and my son got the fried cauliflower. Everything was fresh. We went on a Tuesday evening...It was so busy! A great sign! They were so polite and apologetic about the wait. It wasn't that long. I've waited way longer for food at a sit down restaurant! It does have a few eat in seats, and we did eat in...but I could definitely see myself ordering take out! I wish I had tried a smoothie. Every one of them that I watched being made looked fantastic! I'm so glad it's only minutes away from my sons house. I will definitely be back!! So yummy!

Every time I come here I'm never let down. Their burgers are the best but I decided to venture out of my comfort zone and try the loaded nachos and was not disappointed! My picture really does it no justice.

Soooo let me tell y'all that being a vegetarian sucks when your on the go and HANGRY. It's not many vegan/vegetarian restaurants and the ones that are available have wacky hours of operation. This one may be my new favorite! But but let me not ramble on and get to the good stuff..FIRST OF ALL LET ME JUST SAY This is a BLACK OWNED BUSINESS Which I Just LOVE!! So I got the "Soul Survivor" burger and My husband tried the "D.boy" burger they were super good! We got my son the cauliflower bites plain and some tater tots.He said it was yummy, but he's a toddler so obviously he wasted most of it lol. I do feel like the burgers should come with a side because it's about $12.50 just for the burger and the sides start at $3.29 so your going to spend around $16 each meal. I'm not complaining because to check them out sometimes $16 isn't a deal breaker but I couldn't imagine spending that amount on a regular basis. The service was quick, friendly and our food was made great. My only legit complaint is the parking sucks. I know it's out of their control but be aware that the parking literally sucks it's a parking lot right next to the building that your not allowed to park in (literally patrol car watching) because it's an urgent care so be prepared to do a little walking. Overall I will Absolutely be back here again and again and again! Sorry I don't have any pics we was hungry lol

My birthday was yesterday - after a Google & Yelp search I found trap vegan. they seem to have a pretty good social media presence & the ratings were not bad so I was very excited to try this newer independently owned Detroit vegan restaurant. I placed my order with plenty of time in case they were busy. I ordered & set the time for an hour ahead. I have a lot of understanding when it comes to online ordering & whatnot I have worked places before and sometimes it's very hard when it's busy so I do understand. after I ordered something came up so I tried to call them four or five times to let them know I needed to change my order that I would be 30 minutes late picking up my food due to planning errors and just general birthday stuff either way this place is 25 to 30 minutes away from my house I knew I needed to leave it right away in order to get to the restaurant in time to pick up my order. I started panicking a little because I thought what if they were closed or something my order was over $100 and it was for my birthday and I didn't have the funds to do a different birthday dinner if this failed.... I get there about 30 minutes late as I knew I would.. as I walked in, 'm not greeted but somebody comes over to the other side of the counter and start yelling pick up order?! pick up order?! Some people walked in behind me and they started walking to get their pick up order and I had to interrupt and say hi no I was here first thank you and so I approached the Far side of the counter and my order was ready I explained that I live kinda far away and I tried to call and the man just said yeah we can't answer the phone we are busy! He didn't seem to have any sort of understanding or anything outside of that so I dropped it and said okay fine that's fine just as long as everything is here in my order and my order is complete I live far. He assured me everything is here and the order just got done and it shouldn't be cold... ok.. even though I was 30 minutes late that's odd to say the least?? well I should learn not to trust anybody because as I get home I realise the salad is missing.. tried to call two more times of course they don't answer the phone I have called this morning a few times and this afternoon a few times of course they don't answer the phone I'm not sure how to fix the issue?? however I did reach out to their Facebook and by messaging the chat bot I understand that you can just go in next time and they will replace your order well this was a special circumstance for my birthday even if the food was wonderful and delicious I don't order specialty things too often this was just a birthday thing but I suppose I can order again soon I don't know if this is to maybe get people to order more or something this doesn't seem like good business practice at all? this place is on the whole other side of town and gas is very expensive I don't know when I will be in the area next.. i'm sad that they're having struggles because this has such a good potential to be a wonderful restaurant... I am a huge supporter of local businesses.. now onto the food. my only complaint with the food was the nachos were soggy and cold and the cauliflower wings only had eight pieces the container that they put it in seemed like the container was half empty/half full - I don't know if eight pieces is the standard but for the price I just don't know how to feel also the burgers are kind of small not terribly small but I thought they may have been bigger?? for the price.. nachos seemed a good portion, the burgers were very good toppings were good toppings on the nachos were also very good it just sucks that the nachos were cold and soggy and due to staffing they can't answer the phone also this is to mention they do have a sign at the counter " sorry the whole world is shortstaffed please be patient.. " yes I do understand many or all businesses are shortstaffed but also how is it that every single business is short staffed?? every single place I go is short staffed? I mean that's a whole other issue but frustrating as a whole and I do try to have a lot of patience.. if the salad wasn't missing and the food wasn't cold I think I would be between a 3 & 4 star. The prices are a bit high and the food is good but not spectacular. I really really don't like to leave a negative review so I am trying to let them make the situation right but it's very hard if there is no one to contact any which way.. I guess I will just have to order again and then upon pick up mention that I never got my salad from my first order. oh well hopefully I will be able to be back in soon

Excellent food and service. Smoothies are wonderful. I am not vegan, but I travel to Trap Vegan frequently because the food is that good. I do take-out only. The dining area is small.

Quick to get a bunch of food out fast. Everything was delicious. Ambiance is what you'd expect for a counter service place with just a couple tables by the door, so better for carry out unless your like me and can't wait to eat everything!!

The aBurger and truffle fries were delicious and I would recommend them to any vegan or any new vegan

Tried the fried cauliflower, several of the burgers and one of the salads. All were excellent as well as the truffle fries and sweet potato fries. We will definitely go back the next time we are in Detroit visiting family.
