Yelp
Traverse City Whiskey is such a cute new spot in Ferndale! It's located next to Como's but also has an entrance inside of Como's and the two establishments are attached. The architecture is a long skinny rectangular corridor with seating at the bar and at booths and tables across from the bar. There are a few electrical outlets built into the booths. Atmosphere was nice and festive with Christmas decorations. They sold glassware, t-shirts, and other merch in the back.
Traverse City Whiskey sells bourbons, rye, whiskey, port, and gin. They have a few flavored whiskeys such as apple and cherry whiskeys. You can purchase bottles ranging in price from $24.99 - $94.99. You can also do a tasting flight with four preselected spirits ranging in price from $18-$24. They also make classic cocktails like a Sazerac, Manhattan, Old Fashioned and specialty cocktails like a Michigan mule, whiskey margarita, G&T and more. Most cocktails are around $9-$11. They also had a couple seasonal cocktails including a hot buttered bourbon cider, and apple sour for $11 a piece. I had the hot buttered bourbon cider and wow!! it was sooo good! It was a hot cozy cocktail made with melted butter and brown sugar and cinnamon with bourbon and apple cider, served with a stroop waffle cookie! When the bartender described it and told me it came with a cookie too, I was like sold! and I was not disappointed. It was the perfect holiday cocktail and I'd definitely like to replicate it at home. My friend had the cherry sour and was less thrilled with it as it was a bit too sour for her liking. They also have a small food menu with charcuterie and cheese boards, burger, cheese curds, mixed sweet potato and classic waffle fries, wings, and pretzel bites. We just ate so only had drinks this time. Service was great! Our server was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Really enjoyed my visit here and would love to stop in again especially for another hot buttered bourbon cider before the holiday season is over.
