Traverso’s Restaurant

First time trying this place, and we were really impressed. The restaurant was clean with a great atmosphere. The appetizers were the standout—super tender calamari and shrimp packed with flavor. The soups and salads were also delicious. Dinner was good with generous portions, but the apps were definitely the highlight of the meal.

My boyfriend and I came here around 6 PM on a weekday and were seated immediately. Our waitress was absolutely a sweetheart! She was super attentive and very accommodating. We ordered a Caesar salad, toasted ravioli, and P.E.I. mussels. Everything was delicious! I think the mussels might have been out of season because they were smaller than normal, but that’s still fine. I’ve been to this location many times in the past, and when the mussels are in season, they’re usually quite large! I highly recommend this place! It has a nice atmosphere, good vibe, and delicious food. I will definitely come back!!!

The most amazing gluten free options I’ve ever tasted. My sister has celiac but I don’t normally like the taste/texture of gluten free options this food was so amazing you couldn’t tell. We had fried calamari, garlic bread and spaghetti carbonara. I could eat my weight in the garlic bread!

We used to order from this restaurant before mainly calamari, we decided to give it a try today coz the photos on Google looked really good. We were welcome with very nice employees, I can't complain about the service it was very very good. The calamari was as usual very good, tasted fresh and well cooked. My apple martini was very good as well. Then came our main order which was the cheese pizza, the chicken marsala and the pork chop with peppers. The cheese pizza was overly done which made the cheese very hard and rubbery, it was not great at all! The porkchops were cut very thick and dry and lastly the chicken marsala was not very flavorful I had to add salt to feel it. The noodle was maybe aldente but I wish it was a little bit softer. I will still surely be back for the calamari and the cocktails though and maybe try some other stuff on the menu.

We were greeted warmly and service was good, an other nice thing I noticed is that after each party they clean everything on the table. Our french onion soup was one of the best I had and salmon was nicely done. I had high expectations for the cheese cake as well however it was not dense like I am used to but my daughter loved it. We will definitely visit Traverso's again.

This was my first time getting food here. I wanted to love it and have a new go to for gluten free pasta (the reviews raved about the options). But, I’m pretty upset. For $24 worth of food, I received a very small portion of meat sauce compared to the pasta. The spaghetti was cut up as pictured. I’ve never in my life received cut up pasta. It was likely overcooked and fell apart when they transferred it to the container. I’m so disappointed. I had the best dish ever at antico posto in oak brook. Next time I’d rather drive farther for great food.

OMG! I don’t know why we have never been here before but after this dinner, they are going to be seeing us ALL THE TIME!!! I can’t say enough great things about this place. The food is AMAZING! The staff is AMAZING. The Owner Paul, who we met tonight is so personable and AMAZING! This was the best date night we have ever had! Great job Traverso’s! Can’t wait to see you again soon!! ❤️

First time here, & what a gem this restaurant is! Three of us, came on a Sunday for a late afternoon/ early evening dinner. The place was busy, but hardly had to wait for a table. The salads were perfect. Superb. Highly recommend the creamy garlic dressing. Our dinners were Fettuccine Carbonara, Shrimp Alfredo & Stuffed Eggplant. All the dishes were fantastic. I ordered the Stuffed Eggplant Parmesan, & it was perfection! I tasted the other two dishes that family ordered & they were delicious. I do wish I could of had more coffee, but they were indeed busy. Definitely will be back! I give it five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thank you, Traverso's, for a wonderful first time dining experience with you!

Thursday night @ 6:15. Promptly seated, and almost immediately approached by Char, our server. Ordered drinks, and perused an expansive Italian offerings menu. Settled on Angel Hair pasta with meat sauce, and an Italian beef sandwich. Pasta came with soup or salad; beef came with fries. I had the minestrone, which was very good. Server delivered a basket of warm French bread along with the soup. The beef sandwich was delicious...a very generous portion of beef, served with beautiful sweet peppers. The pasta was huge. A ginormous bowl of noodles topped with a rich flavorful meat sauce. If I was nitpicking, my only comment would be that there could have been more sauce for such a huge bowl of pasta, but it was absolutely delicious. Great food. Great service. True family feel. Highly recommend.

The place is always full, but I don't know what the hype is all about! Service was okay, food was meh - the chicken marsala was the weird - the mushrooms had a burnt wine taste and over all unpalatable, the linguini carbonara was too al dente, the lemon chicken wings had a good sauce but the wings were too burnt to absorb the sauce. Overall a very unpleasant dining experience!

Local place so I find myself a patron. The food is good, but for the price, the portions do not compare to competition (see: Clara's in Woodridge). Honestly my biggest gripe is the antiquated takeout. Landline with two lines. If you try to order takeout between the hours of 5-7pm, you likely will need to try for 15 minutes. They've also messed up takeout orders and been more than casually late with the pickup times. Don't get me wrong though, the food is quality and if you're dining in, you won't leave disappointed.

Rubbery cheese, bland sauce, tasteless crust and greasy sausage. Another disappointment...

First the staff was beyond nice and friendly, our server Lacey was so friendly and an all around great server. The owner Paul came by the table ask how we were doing, talked a few minutes and was a really nice guy. We had pizza and lasagna. The pizza was nice and thin crust and crispy. The sauce and sausage were really good. The lasagna was really good as well, really big piece you get with soup or salad, we had mushroom barley soup again really good. And something so simple as garlic bread was one of the best garlic bread I've ever had. Inside is decorated really nice, they have a dining room, they have a separate room I think for parties and they also have a bar. It was nice and clean too. We will definitely be going back. We are not gluten free but I know ppl who are and they have a big gluten free menu!

Been driving by this place for 2 years and the parking lot is always packed. Decided to give it a try tonight and luckily we were seated with no issue at 6:00. Tuesdays is $20 chicken night and it includes soup or salad. Both of us went for the chicken and weren't disappointed, a solid choice with leftovers for tomorrow.

We had a party of 20 celebrating our 50th. As often happens some cancelled at the last minute and some came that weren't anticipated. Our waitress (Charlene) was all forgiving and wonderful about it and handled us perfectly. Food was plentiful as I had ordered Package A. Excellent food that I was able to have them pack some for take home which will be greatly appreciated in the weeks to come. Italian cuisine is very tasty and everyone was pleased. Glad to have this local restaurant close.

Traversos's is an absolute must for pizza. From their original location in Orland Park to their current location in Naperville the pizza, the decor, the smell when you pick up your pizza in the cozy pick up room, still has that same great vibe thankfully! Traversos's has a storied history and a following that keeps this place packed always. Traversos's has that feeling of being welcomed and appreciated. The leather on the walls has a comfort to it that makes me feel like they know. They know Italian and they know pizza. Traversos's history continues today still being in the family. I have many memories of the original location especially the enormous and just as soft wall hanging in the lobby. Remember those big wood doors? How about those seemingly out of place steps not quite right outside the pickup room in the parking lot. They need to install those in the parking lot outside the pick up room in Naperville. Traversos's will be around for a long time. Next time you're picking up a pizza make sure to read the history of Traversos's proudly displayed in the pick up room and also attached with the pictures here. It will make you feel proud to support Traversos's. I've always been back and hope you do the same.

I booked my daughter's graduation party here for 6/22. I had booked a baby shower here about 10 years ago and remembered how good the food and service was then, so I thought I would give it another shot for this occasion. What an amazing place to have an event. The staff was, by far, the most attentive, friendliest people I have ever worked with. The owner Mike was great and helpful and made everything so easy. Like it felt too easy. The food was absolutely delicious! Everyone absolutely loved it. Most of my guests grabbed a catering menu before they left. They started with the soup. Best minestrone i have ever had. The house dressing for the salad was perfect. The chicken was cooked perfectly and was so good. The beef was the best beef I have ever had. Everyone couldn't get enough of the sausage and green beans. This restaurant deserves 10 stars if the scale went that high on here. I received several text messages and phone calls from my guests for 2 days thanking me for the great time and the delicious food. I usually prepare my own food for parties that I have at my home, but I think I am going to be ordering catering from here instead. Great job and thank you for making my daughter's graduation party so easy and wonderful! Thank you again!!

We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary at Traverso's. Waitstaff was excellent, food was outstanding!

Went for a birthday celebration for myself and family. The restaurant was packed at 4:45 on a Saturday. My granddaughters shared a pizza and loved it. My husband had fettuccine Alfredo and said was terrific. I had the lasagna. Had enough for 2 more meals at home. My son had chicken and my daughter in law who eats gluten free and that was why I chose Traverso. They have an extensive gluten free menu. Would love to try again and bring a sweater. It was a little chilly. Next time we will be prepared

Cozy Neighborhood Restaurant in Naperville. We ordered grilled Salmon, Salad of Mixed Greens, and Gluten Free Chicken Tenders/Garlic Bread. This place has one of the largest selection of Gluten Free items in the area. The Gluten Free Fried Chicken is also popular here. They were also flexible with accommodating for various other food allergies. Restaurant was clean and food was fresh. Thank You

Don't go for a party that has a buffet! The food will be cold , rubbery can't pick up a piece ,pizza it's not cut all the through. Pasta served in small dishes on the buffet table, so it could get cold faster. They had 8 soup bowl with pasta around the pizzas. I have been in the Restaurant business to know how to setup buffet, that was not the to do it!!!!

Service was good, very nice people. The rood rocked. I had the Vesuvio and it was very good. My kid had the Linguine Carbonara and it was really good. My daughter had the Fettuccine Alfredo and that was outstanding. I highly recommend this local restaurant.

Went here tonight with a group of seven. It was very busy but we had a reservation. Grace was our server. I learned that she had just started recently. Grace did a wonderful job even with us throwing a couple curveballs at her. She was very attentive and got every order right. As far as the food, it was great as always. Always one of our go to places!

The food here is excellent. Home cooked. I got the simple spaghetti and meatballs and it was so good because their sauce is homemade. Our family had the eggplant, lasagna, fried ravioli, bruschetta. All very good. Service was great. Environment is also nice. We went on a Friday night and though it was getting crowded it was still very nice. I would recommend for a nice home cooked Italian meal.

Visited here because my daughter has gluten allergy. On Saturday evening, busy but service wasn't slow. Complementary GF bread was good, but regular bread was salty. Food was great. Italian beef sandwich was delicious. French fries were not oily, not salted which I appreciated. Pasta was overcooked but I like it that way so it was edible. I would like to come back at lunch time because it was very loud! (I'm sure lots of people were having alcohol) We sat where tables are so close each other which doesn't help.

Food was good , but the stand out was our server Leland. He was attentive and recommended the delicious holiday cake. Great restaurant with outstanding service.

Wow what a great place in Naperville! First time there with a large party and a variety of dishes. Chicken, pastas and pizza were fantastic with great favor and portion sizes. Salads were fresh and good sizes. Food came hot and tasty with leftovers to take home. Service could have been faster but very good at keeping the table serviced. Highly recommend this place but come early since it is packed

We recently had a small wedding shower for our daughter and soon to be son-in-law. There were some special requests of gluten-free for my daughter and a few other attendees. Paul was in touch with my wife during the whole process assuring us everything would be as expected. Tanya was our host making sure everyone was taking care of during the shower. Everything went as planned and we had a wonderful experience. Thank you all for your help in making this go so well. I would recommend you to anyone, please continue doing what you're doing!

Ordered the chicken Parmesan to go. It was individually prepared. It was just perfect. The taste were overwhelming.

Love this place!!!! great bar and everyone friendly. Super pizza especially the Margherita. My husband and I like to sit at the bar split an anti pasta salad and calamari. That couldn't make for a better evening.

Traversos Restaurant is so unbelievably good. It is now my wife and I Friday night go to Restaurant. Traversos is located on Naper Plainfield Road in South Napervill. Whether it's tavern style thin crust, pizza, king size cocktails, or an Italian meal off the menu you will not be disappointed not to mention their appetizers that are big enough to feed three people. Some of my favorites are the thin crust tavern style pizza, the lasagna which I have yet to finish completely, it's so big or the handmade ravioli. The inside of the restaurant is a sophisticated casual atmosphere that gives you the feel of a traditional upscale Italian restaurant or an upscale Wisconsin supper club. If you are familiar with Traversos, you know the owners Mike and Paul are always there to see that your meal is nothing less than perfect. And if you have not been to Traversos, you are missing out on Napervill's best secret.

Went in with 12 people on Friday. Our server was very good definitely needed help. Cold food and 30 min to get a cocktail. The restaurant needs a food runner. The owners brother came over asked how things were, he didn't want to hear it was kind of rude. He said they got busy WOW!! He seemed a little nicer when we were going out the door.

I absolutely love Traversos. The salads are fresh. The garlic dressing is a classic. The olive oil and warm bread are delish. The pork chops vesuvio is my go-to. I always ask for half-n- half potatoes and spinach. Although, this particular visit the waitress was weird about it. Hubby loves the chicken parmesan. They don't take Discovercard fyi.

Food is great with large portions. Service is excellent and we usually sit at a booth in the bar which is very comfortable. We have been back several times. They also have very good daily specials.

Was thinking about hosting a party in their room, but they charge a $750 minimum. Decided to order their pizza to try it. They do deliver to West Bolingbrook. Their pizza was tasty, not too much sauce, good crust. I also ordered bruchetta which was soggy. They should take a note out of Lou Malnati's book and keep the topping separate from the bread when you order take-out. I could see us ordering from here again, but I do miss the convenience of being able to order online.

It was my first time trying, and I have to admit, I was slightly disappointed with my pizza. I wanted to love this place and saw all the good reviews. My thin crust ended up a little soggy after short ride home, with the cheese sliding off each bite. I prefer a crispy crust, so maybe I should have requested it well done, though I'm not sure that would have solved the issue. That said, the staff, the girl on the phone, my waitress, and the owner, were very friendly and provided excellent service.

Our first visit after hearing good reviews from friends. The service was excellent! Not just our waiter but the hostess & other wait staff filled our drinks, picked up dirty dishes, brought more bread without us asking. It became extremely loud when several larger groups showed up. Too bad they didn't have a separate room for them. Our food was good but could have used a bit more lemon on my picatta & mozzarella on the chicken parm. One of the "Mr. T's" even came to see how we were doing. oh & the tiramisu was excellent. Hopefully next time we go back we can enjoy the quiet ambience.

We visited Traversos for my nephew Bday on a Saturday evening we were seated right away, service was great! Waitresses were on point no mistakes with the food the drinks were strong and delicious. I had the lemon drop and Chocolate Martini perfect. For Food I had chicken Ceasar salad My son had kids cheese pizza it was very good we also tried buffalo wings and lemon pepper wings they were delicious shrimp scampi was tasty as well.

First visit last night with my family. I'm glad we picked this as our meeting place. Everything was so good. It reminds me of the neighborhood Italian restaurants I grew up with in Chicago. We were a party of five. The place was packed. We didn't have to wait long for a table. Place seemed short staffed. Not that our level of service or food suffered. Even the "owner" or manager came around to refill our water, clear dirty plates, and make sure we were good. Great service all around. We all ordered different items. I had the Chicken picante. Delicious! All meals came with soup or salad. I had a wonderful fresh Cesar salad. We had a few apps including a cheese pizza. Everything was wonderful. Our waitress really hustled to get our food to us in a timely manner. Portions were huge. I brought home enough food for at least two more meals. And the prices were extremely reasonable. If I'm in the area, I'd definitely return.

THE BEST ITALIAN PLACE IN NAPERVILLE, HANDS DOWN. Particularly for those dining with dietary restrictions, Traverso's boasts one of the largest gluten free menu's I've yet to find at a family-owned establishment (their head chef is GF, so almost the entire menu can be made to accommodate). Also, their Alfredo sauce is to die for...I wish it were bottled up and sold to bring home. ***try it with the gnocchi and you will not be disappointed!

If you are looking for gluten-free fried bone-in chicken, here's the restaurant! Traverso also offers an extensive options of gluten-free menu. Their portion is always generous, so bring an empty stomach!

Our pizza was a disaster, the crust was as if it wasn't even cooked but the cheese was somehow overcooked & saturated with grease. Disappointed bc the reviews and pictures on here were promising.

Delicious menu and friendly staff make this a favorite! I've never had a bad experience, and I have eaten there numerous times.

Not sure why yelp said this restaurant has outdoor seating because it doesn't. Would be nice but kind of landlocked. Good, service and indoor seating is very good. They are always busy with a good bar area.

I cannot tell you how many times we have passed by this awesome restaurant. My family had dinner there last night, and to say we enjoyed ourselves and were thoroughly impressed is an understatement. Excellent service, the staff are so kind. The food was amazing and we tried their lemon wings, pizza, calamari, and their lasagna. Each was done to perfection. The co-owner checked on us and his suggestions and kindness were icing on the cake. Their blue berry pie and cheese cake were delicious as well. I highly recommend this restaurant. We will be regulars for sure.

Not at all happy with the pizza. Service and ambiance were fair. When we came for dinner it wasn't that busy but the waiter took quite a while.

Delicious Italian food. Was so happy to have the separate dedicated gluten free menu for my 8 year old son with new diagnosed celiac disease. He even got his own gf bread basket as the beginning.

Food was delicious homemade and portions were large. Server was very sweet and professional. Had a very nice local vibe and we will be back for sure. Felt a little bad the owner was asking every table how dinner was, he avoided us tho. I would have liked to tell him how much we enjoyed our first visit.
