I had something happen to me that has never happened to me before, and that was that I bought a bottle of whisky without fully inspecting it and when I got home, I noticed that the seal was broken. When I called and explained my situation, they gladly replaced the bottle! I was really worried I would be screwed. Great service!

Google
Really nice liquor store, they have a solid selection of bottles and diverse options. I found bottles from Japan, Hawaii, and Europe. I would highly recommend this place.

Spent nearly $300 on a large delivery. Delivery was scheduled from 12pm-1pm. The store called me at 1pm to tell me they were out of half of my order. Piss poor customer service and communication. You’re better off ordering from anywhere else.

Nice! 3 types of Uruapan Charanda available. A 100% cane juice agricole, and a blanco and añejo 50/50 cane juice and molasses blend. I love that this shop has specialty/hard to find spirits like this. They helped me find the Blanco when the shelf stock appeared to be out. Really happy that someone in South Austin took a chance on such niche spirit, even picking up the pure "agricola"! This is a rum from Michoacán, Mexico, like Mezcal before it, Charanda is gonna be the "it" spirit from Mexico. Of the Uruapan offerings, the Añejo is my favorite. If you are a big fan of agricole rum from Martinique, definitely try the 100% Agricola. Super funky!

Google
Fantastic little shop with great prices and selection. Will definitely be back soon!!

Google
It's very small, boutique, but they have a good, if limited, selection of everything. The owner or manager or at least he's the main guy that works there is extremely chill and cool. The music that he has playing is always eclectic and top-notch. If you need boxes, he generously allows you whatever is available at the back door. It's a fairly classy affair, and I see that they have wine tasting parties every so often, though I haven't participated myself. My only complaint is the parking. The front has very few, narrow spaces on an incline and hardly enough room to back out if the lot has other cars in it. Forget about it. I don't even bother. Back lot is also small and it can be difficult to back out if a truck is parked behind you, but I've never not found a parking space back there.

Google
I visited the store looking for a bottle of Texas Sotol, which is not available in the UK where I live. I asked for some assistance, and the staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They also have a great selection in store.

Google
These guys essentially have curated their inventory for both wine and spirits with updated handwritten tasting notes for the majority of items in the store. They are expert at sending you home with what you want in the price range you specify. I learn something everytime I go. I have never been disappointed. More accessible knowledge of wine and spirits per square foot than anywhere else I know of in the Austin area. Just ask. Also a much better selection (and price range) of wines and liquors less commonly available in the US than most other stores. If you discovered a new-to-you grape or appellation on your trip to Europe and have not been able to find it anywhere since you got home, this is the store for you.

Yelp
Strong selection (though not top-notch), but very high prices. The only game in this part of town for hard liquor, and clearly they're aware. Though dimly lit, and with a level of security to pass to get through the door, service was friendly. But all grades of liquor--I checked rum, tequila and bourbon--are priced above market. Many items on shelves lacked prices. Overall, a fine choice, if it's your only choice.

Yelp
I went here with a friend the location is located right next to Randall ina very busy shopping center in Leander very wide selection of wine and liquor and the staff was very knowledgeable.

Holly C.

Yelp
Love this little place off the highway. They have a great selection and are very helpful.

Holly K.

Yelp
The gentleman behind the counter was very kind. The store was clean and neat and had a huge selection of all the types of spirits he may need.

Lennore R.

Yelp
Upon entering, the store is clean and organized with nice lighting. The shelves were filled with bottles aligned neatly. We were in a hurry since our Uber was waiting for us outside, so we grabbed the largest but most affordable bottles of tequila and vodka hoping it would last us the entire time of the Bachelorette extended weekend. We were obviously tourists, but the cashier rang us up fairly quickly to get along with our errands. If you're not from around here, this place has wine, beer, and liquor~

Yelp
Very high prices compared to other stores who $29 for a handle of Titos when this stores charges $38. Selection and service was fine but prices were pretty outrageous.

Yelp
If i could give 10 stars I would! I was in need of a specific wine for a Xmas present, and I was not having any success locating it locally. I searched local stores, and the closest one was 120 miles away, this was one way and also I tried the wine maker to get it shipped out here to Texas, with no luck! I even had friends from my previous city, where we lived to try to locate some, and ship it out here from California! I searched for liquor stores on Yelp, near my town, and lucked upon this place and looked at the reviews of other customers, and decided to give this place a try! Low and behold, they were able to get the product that I needed and within 2 days, I was able to pick it up! Major Kudos to Eric and the staff at this location for helping me out! I'll be going back for other purchases. Damn fine job!!! Signed, Very Satisfied Customer

Yelp
What a gem! I follow Travis Heights closely on social media. They have some of the best selections of spirits including rum, whiskey and especially agave. I spent an hour looking and talking with them about certain expressions of mezcales and tequila. They are very knowledgable and proved an amazing experience. I highly recommend visiting this location and finding some great brands that a lot of stores cannot get. I look forward to my next trip down to find more beautiful agave spirits.

Yelp
I love this place. Definitely one of our favorite liquor stores in Austin. Rohit and Eric do a great job running the show - whether it is the morning meditation music while I peruse some wine to get for a party this weekend, or the free weekly liquor tastings featuring a plethora of local, domestic, and foreign wine and spirits. They carry a TON of liquor, and are more than willing to order in something special for you if you talk to them. They have a wide selection of bourbon and mezcal too! These guys know their alcohol and are quick to provide recommendations, and creative concoctions if you tell them the items you have in your liquor cabinet at home. Most recently, Rohit recommended Cappelletti Aperitivo, tonic, and lime for a most refreshing summer drink. INCREDIBLE! What's more, it's right next to Whip In, so you can swing by BW on your way to grab some dinner or drinks. Cheers!

Lele S.

Yelp
Eric and BArt are amazing! Tastings on Thursdays. Wine selection is my favorite part and I always find exactly what I need. Parking in the back!!! Great service. Excellent selection. Oh and always playing great tunes!! Sometimes loudly :-)))

Yelp
Travis Heights Beverage World is the lesser known brother to The Whip In next door. Everyone knows Whip In has one of the best beer selections in Austin. So it's no surprise that Beverage World has the best selection of interesting wines and spirits, especially for whisk(e)ys - I've managed to score a bottle of the limited release George T Stagg here! Have you been missing out? Well, check out the free tastings they have on every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5-8pm. I've discovered many awesome wines, whiskys, gins, mezcals, champagnes and even vodkas from the tastings. The folks who work there (Rohit, Eric and Bart) have a wealth of esoteric knowledge. They exude passion for what they do and are some of the finest gentlemen in town. Support your local and independent businesses. I never need to step into a Spec's or Twin Liquors when I have Beverage World to take care of my spirits.

Mezcal R.

Yelp
Beverage World has a great selection of Mezcal. They don't always have the largest selection, but they keep their bottles rotating, so it's always worthwhile to stop to see what new products they have on the shelves. Typically, their selection is solid and comprised of unique agave blends and new brands on the market. They are more expensive than elsewhere in Austin, but their staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they seem to do a lot of Mezcal business as the shelves are always changing.

Yelp
This little place packs a punch for its size! It is located by the infamous WhipIn, too!! We went in here looking for a couple of local beers and sure enough they had them. They carry tons of liquors and different goodies. If I am in the area I would surely come here again to pick up a few things before heading to a party or get together etc!

Don P.

Yelp
I dropped by Whip In because of Jackie A's ROTD. Cool place... but while I was there, I remembered that I owed my roomie a bottle of liquor. And while Whip In is VERY cool, they don't carry liquor but sent me next door to Beverage World. Ok... so I can't say much about the place... it was really cool, they pointed me to what I needed, and all three guys (yes 3) were very cool. I really don't go to liquor stores very often... I think I've only ever been to one. But this was a great experience. So yeah, someone smarter than me should check it out and write a review. 5 stars for the cool guys behind the counter.

Marco C.

Yelp
Five stars because they tweeted about having St. Arnold's Pumpkinator when (seemingly) the rest of Austin was out. Came in and scored two bottles. The guy working in there was friendly and kind. Super chill. They didn't even have a limit on how much Pumpkinator I could take! Thanks Beverage World.

Helen C.

Yelp
Who carries pear liqueur? Beverage world. If they don't, they order it for you because they are awesome. Always a great selection of beer and wine with friendly service. I absolutely love this place. AND, they have parking.

Gage B.

Yelp
Glad to see this place has such an amazing reputation already. After searching the local wine stores, the staff at Beverage World is the friendliest and by far most knowledgable group of wine lovers in Austin. Sign up for their newsletters for free tastings most thurs-fri-Saturday's.

Yelp
Not only my favorite wine/liquor store in Austin but one of my favorite retail establishments. The guys there are passionate, friendly and super knowledgeable. The main wine guy Eric is a French dude who arrived in Austin because he loved the music scene. He always points me in the right direction. The old wine guy Bob, who originally sold me on the place, was about the most unpretentious laid back wine expert you can imagine. They don't have a huge selection but what they have is very well chosen. Rohit puts up funny tweets and Facebook postings on new products and weekly tastings. (declaring a French rosé "chingón" on one occasion. It was.) Drop by on a Friday or Saturday late afternoon to sample something new and good and talk to the people in your neighborhood.

Yelp
Unreal selection of wines and great personable, knowledgeable, service from the owners- Keep it

Yelp
I'm glad to see there are people giving this place five stars but every time I have come in here I feel like I'm inconveniencing the staff. They more or less begrudgingly ring up your purchase with barely a hello or thank you or any indication that they give a rip to get your business. It has not encouraged me to browse their aisles and check out the selections. That is in stark contrast to the superb customer service I get at other establishments. After three or four visits ( I suppose I was thinking my previous experiences were anomalies) I doubt I'll be back. I'd just rather give my business to a place where the staff will at least greet me and ask me if I need any help. It's as though they figure if you don't already know what you want they aren't going to help you because it would be beneath them. Weird. I'll never know how good their selections may be because they don't give a damn. So neither do I. Who wants to spend money in a place that can't even be bothered to attempt to make a customer feel welcome? Not sure what business model they are following here. The original Whip-In had a friendly atmosphere. Those days are gone. Today I came in to get something because it was convenient. The place was dark as a dungeon and I didn't even see the clerk behind the counter because he was silent and not visible sitting in a corner. It wasn't until I went up to the register that he stood up and it surprised me because I thought the staff might be in the storeroom because I never heard a peep from this guy. I paid him and he more or less mumbled something and I left. It's like their philosophy is anti-service. As though a little cheer would seem too tacky or something because in their opinion they are more than store clerks? Like I said, just weird. I've come in before when they were doing some kind of tasting and the small group gathered just completely ignored me. I don't know if a staff member was one of the group but not one person in the place acknowledged my presence. I compared notes with my niece who has gone in there as well and she gets the same weird, off vibe about this place. What gives? Someone enlighten me. Is there some secret code I'm supposed to utter upon entering this dung...ummm, store? I'm going to rename it Vampire World. I'll stick to Twin Liquors or even Specs in the future. Sheesh.

Guy D.

Yelp
One of Austin's true hidden gems. Best staff around; super old-school. I'm a bourbon and scotch drinker, and they've never steered me wrong. Incredible selection of wine, too.

Eliot N.

Yelp
These guys know wine and spirits better than most. Not the same old boring stuff, either. One of the largest natural wine selections in town. Ask for Eric or Rohit, both are really good guys. Give them some of your wine business, you won't be disappointed.

James B.

Yelp
Love the hell outta this place great owners, very nice people the prices are competitive and the guys actually know what they are talking about when you ask them for recommendations!
