"In the winter of 2019-20, the nature-inspired, sustainability pioneer 1 Hotel launched Treehouse in central London, with the goal of establishing a “fun, less expensive cousin to 1,” says founder Barry Sternlicht. Similar to its parent brand, Treehouse hotels prioritize social spaces; Treehouse London, for example, features a rooftop bar with 360-degree views of the city center as well as a penthouse restaurant from LA-based Madera Group, behind California’s wildly popular Tocaya restaurants, which serves healthy Mexican fare in scrubbed up, breezy wooden spaces. Rooms are designed to feel like childhood clubhouses, with wood beams and stuffed animals strewn on beds and chairs—plus bay windows that overlook some of London's most iconic landmarks. The hotel makes sure you're never without something to do, as well, from morning yoga to DJ dance parties at night." - CNT Editors

"Rising 15 floors above Marylebone, the Treehouse Hotel London offers a quirky urban retreat where wood, stone and greenery evoke childhood nostalgia through a grown‑up lens and floor‑to‑ceiling windows provide panoramic vignettes of London's rooftops and landmarks. Bedrooms are curated with cosy furnishings and thoughtful amenities to encourage lingering in what feels like a personal hideaway; the elevated perspective delivers serenity above while keeping the vibrancy of Oxford Street and the neighbourhood's garden squares within easy reach." - The MICHELIN Guide UK Editorial Team

"Cousin to the eco-centric '1 Hotels' brand, which originated in America, the Treehouse Hotel London sits in an enviable position just off Regent Street. After a long day of shopping, head for this unique spot which feels – just as you might have hoped – like you’re living in the trees. The public spaces come with wood-clad floors, walls and ceilings, which are punctuated by greenery, while the cosy bedrooms have quintessentially British touches such as stuffed Paddington Bears and yellow raincoats in the wardrobes. At the top of the hotel you’ll find the fittingly-named Nest, a bar that will make you want to find a perch, fluff out your feathers and settle in for the evening. The inside is filled with natural textures and colours, while outside you’ll become part of nature without even realising it – and with 360° views, you can switch seats every time you come to take in a different perspective. It opens daily from 12pm, with an over 21s policy after 5pm. There’s a £50 minimum spend, but this is somewhere you'll definitely want to "stay for just one more"." - The MICHELIN Guide UK Editorial Team

"Best for: nearby playgrounds Closest tube station: Lancaster Gate For those at the stage of life that revolves around a playground, Royal Lancaster is perfectly placed by the northern edge of Hyde Park, a hop-skip from a play area well-suited to tiny tots. The location also makes for an incredible view, with the hotel towering above the picturesque Italian Gardens. Suites facing south overlook the entire green mass of the park and beyond to the Surrey Hills. In the Royal Suite on the 18th floor, the view is arguably one of the best in London. At toddler level, there’s lots to look at, too—a scattering of autumnal leaves from the entrance leads to a whimsical teepee draped in vines and filled with woodland creatures perched on pillows. For more entertainment, there’s a dedicated playroom downstairs with giant teddies, puzzles, and a tiny trampoline. At supper time, there are two restaurants onsite or an appealing in-room dining option, where you can order classic favorites from a dedicated kid’s menu, as well as punchy curries from the downstairs Nipa Thai Restaurant for grown ups. Bedtime routines are made easy: all suites come with bathtubs and gentle bath products are provided, as well as all the extras little ones need, including sturdy wooden cots and even Care Bears to snuggle. For older kids, the studio family suite has the option to have two twin beds or a sofa bed, while a classic family room combines two classic rooms via interconnecting doors. Extra interconnecting rooms are also available throughout. —Lauren Burvill Book now at Expedia Book now at Booking.com This article was originally published on Condé Nast Traveller UK." - Rosalyn Wikeley
