"For the closest taste of Cajun country specialties outside of Cajun country, look no further than Très Bon in River Ridge, where the atmosphere is also in line with Acadiana’s best boudin stops. Dine in for a hot plate special of burnt ends or try the Cajun sampler, a combo of boudin links, boudin balls, and cracklin. It’s also a good place to load up on smoked meats, boudin, and meat pies to take home." - Eater Staff, Clair Lorell

Google
I just found my new favorite place to eat in River Ridge! Forgive me for not having ate here before now. Absolutely amazing stop. Not to mention the 15% discount for service members of the community, vets, police, firemen, and including teachers! I love the atmosphere and the food was unstoppable. The guy behind the counter told us about a special that isn’t on the menu. It’s called the Divorce, we ordered it, 4 meats and four sides. Yum! Dollar draft night in Saturdays and $2 drafts on Thursday. Plus vintage pinball. Wow! Nice job gentlemen.

Google
1st time here... one of our Local Jeep Club (CCW) recommended this place. Me and my son totally loved it. The food was delicious, the ladies where so nice to suggest what could I order and telling me what was their best plates. Also loved the 80's to early 90's vibe, seeing their toy collections and games brought me lots of memories, just to see some toys that i had or wanted when I was a little girl got me a bit sentimental too. LOL It was a great 1st experience, I will definitely go back.

Google
Get the burnt tips. You will not regret it. This food was made with love. We got the platter and everything was good. From the melt in your mouth burnt tips, the tender brisket and the juicy pulled pork… the grits and the jambalaya paired perfect with it all. I’m so glad I found this place during my first time stay in LA

Google
The. Best. Cracklin. Period. The grits are excellent and among my favorites too! Great menu, from the traditional pulled pork and ribs, to the different Cajun food specialties. The barbecue items are spicier than I like. I prefer spice for flavor rather than heat. Really friendly and welcoming people.

Google
I wish I could time-travel So I could show you how good the burnt ends were but I ate them so fast because they melted in my mouth. I'm gonna be back here way too much. I can't wait to try more things on the menu

Google
Absolutely delicious! Love the interior. Definitely will come back next time I am in the area

Google
I had a craving for meat pies and luckily this was the first place that popped up on DoorDash. Not only did the meat pie hit the spot, but the other items we ordered were delicious and plenty of food! I had the pulled pork plate with jambalaya and andouille mac, and the husband got The Divorce (pictured). We were impressed and definitely had leftovers. Can't wait to try the gator balls, boudin, and cracklins... Only so much food you can order for one meal.

Google
Fantastic! Pigs in blanket are amazing! Candied bacon, cracklings! Too many great things to list. They have no ingredients that you can’t pronounce. Very friendly service! Can’t recommend highly enough!

Paul S.

Yelp
Ohhhhh man I got 2 specials today and they were great! The fried cheese curds and a smoked turkey melt with bacon with almost a inch of meat and fixings!

Jared O.

Yelp
I was there first customer to try the breakfast menu. Corn grits were fluffy and sweet. The bacon was one large crispy piece. The biscuit was very crumbly but clearly homemade. Having boudin and cracklings for breakfast was an interesting twist, but complimented the other items.

Yelp
Here at Très Bon, owner William "Billy" Newton is serving up all the Cajun meaty goodness you could ever crave and you're going to smell it as soon as you enter the parking lot. Très Bon's menu includes pulled pork, brisket, grit bowls, cracklins, and ribs- and that's just scratching the surface. Their sandwiches include smoked brisket with pimento cheese, BBQ pork and slaw, and pulled pork with garlic mayo. If that's not enough for you, Très Bon offers deep fried Oreos and a Maple Bacon Sundae and they have a fridge full of sausage and other goodies packed up just waiting for you to take home- talk about "very good"! I had the pulled pork platter with corn grits and andouille mac ($13). This platter was delicious. First of all, the portions were huge! The pulled pork was actual pulled pork and not a pile of pork shavings covered in barbecue sauce that you tend to get at some other spots. It was juicy and smoky perfection on a plate. I never think of corn grits as a barbecue side, but Très Bon is here to change all of that- creamy and rich, they were perfect with the pork. The andouille mac was in a league of its own- VERY cheesy and the andouille was a nice touch, but totally not necessary as the mac spoke for itself. I loved the huge portions and cool atmosphere. Look around and you'll see old matchbooks on display, an extensive hot sauce collection and even vintage pinball machines. Really though, it's all about the delicious food at a great price. I made a list of best hidden BBQ for Very Local New Orleans and this l restaurant was on it! Read it here:https://nola.verylocal.com/bbq-new-orleans/228292/

Yelp
Truly enjoyed this out of the way BBQ spot! Me and the lady like to go on out of the way trips for good food. Most of the time we hit the jackpot and find a place that pleases us. This place is exactly what we were looking for! It's truly a deli/restaurant with all of the cool Louisiana of the by gone era stuff. It was like walking back into my childhood by the stuff in there. You go to the counter and order you food while the young servers bring you your meal. The food was delicious! I had the brisket sandwich with a garlic Mayo that was delightful. My wife had all the meats and it was perfect! The stuffed boudin balls are exactly how I would want them. Go give it a try!

Nicole B.

Yelp
Had a fantastic evening at Tres Bon this evening with my hubby and (adult) son! We enjoyed delicious food in a fun atmosphere. The pinball machines and video games are plentiful and one of the pinball machines is even free to play every Friday night. Their new bar is sweet and the wait staff is fabulous! On Friday nights, they offer beer pitchers--buy one, get one free and wings are $1 each. Go see them tomorrow night for $1 draft beers and don't forget to try the burnt ends!

Lacey D.

Yelp
If there were 1/2 stars, I would give 3 and 1/2. There are so many glowing reviews that I was excited to try Tres Bon. Our takeout was: 1/2 lb burnt ends, 2 sausage links, and the brisket sandwich. The good: the sauce is sweet but has a nice spice to cut through it, the sausage had good flavor, and the pimento cheese and shredded brisket were yummy. The downside: the burnt ends were not *burnt*- they just seemed like chunks of brisket with no additional char, the sausage was tasty but dry, and the prices are fairly high. For 5 pieces of burnt ends, we paid $15, and the sandwich was $12. The sausage was a good deal at $2 a link (the links were huge). I still want to try some of the apps, so I will check it out again at some point.

Charles B.

Yelp
I always enjoyed the food here. They closed for awhile and reopened recently taking their craft to a whole new level! Great Staff, Great Food ! They definitely can compete with any of the well known New Orleans BBQ/smoked Meat joints and best of all they are right in our neighborhood! They bring a creative taste to their dishes. Check these guys out and it will become one of your go-to places!

Tim M.

Yelp
Subpar Overpriced BBq at best. All, including the sides were overcooked. Wish it was better.. Good Pinball machines thought...

Kazli S.

Yelp
Delicious Everything ! We are ordered the brisket with side of Mac and grits. The grits have corn in it like I like. The max was nice and cheesy. We ordered an additional side of jambalaya. It was nice and fresh. I love the bbq sauce. Everything was to perfection. $1 draft nights on Saturday. Bring quarters for the pin hall machines.

Lauren S.

Yelp
Food is the best bbq around. When walking in you'll immediately notice that this is what you want your bbq restaurant to smell like. The daily menu is great but their specials are even more yummy! Burnt tips, brisket, and pulled pork are all delish. The sides mmm, corn grits are phenomenal even if you don't like grits you gotta try them. Jambalaya, Brussels sprouts, and baked beans are yummy. Lately, there's been shotgun shells (sausage and cream cheese stuffed manicotti shells wrapped in bacon, smoked, add bbq sauce, and smoked again HOLY MOLY)! The smash-burger... get in there and try it and do it early before they run out! It's THAT good! They basically give away beer on the weekends. Don't worry about eating with kids because there are arcade games on free play and a bunch of pinball machines that'll sure to keep them busy for a bit. Last but not least, the restaurant is always clean and staff is always welcoming. They started giving away "tokens" with your purchase that you can play to win something free or save until you have several to redeem for different things like hour of X-Box, chicken crackling, a free drink, etc. LOVE THIS PLACE!!

Yelp
This is the best BBQ anywhere around here. The guy REALLY knows what he's doing with that smoker!!!! The food he makes is off the chart. He has all of the usual stuff you'd expect ,but is very imaginative. He stuffs a peeled and pitted avocado with pepper cream cheese , wraps 1/2 &1/2 hot sausage and ground chuck ( both made in house)and then wraps it in bacon ( that he slices himself) and smokes it. Fried boudin balls, with or without cheese. I just recently ate there and brought home a stuffed chicken breast the size of a small loaf of bread. It's stuffed with the above mentioned meat mixture and double wrapped in his own hand cut bacon. The outer layer of bacon gets crispy and the inner layer it keeps the chicken to die for! Me and my fiancé can easily split a three meat plate with 2 sides and an extra drink. His sides are all fantastic as well! The candied burnt ends are the best I've ever eaten! GET THEM!!!! The brisket, pulled pork and ribs are ALWAYS on point!! If he has any THICK CUT ,candied bacon left, be sure to treat yourself to a couple of pieces of that! He sells ready to cook items in the cooler. I want this place to do my wedding. They do catering and I know it's good !!! Hear me when I say IF YOU GO HERE ONCE......you WILL BE BACK. I've been about 50 times and left in a smoky BBQ coma every single time. His tea is always good too. That's important to me!! Fountain machine is expertly maintained and tuned. I can drink a gallon of the Hi-C! Really nice people putting out the BEST BBQ I've EVER HAD I MY LIFE!!!

Shannon S.

Yelp
Some very respectable brisket with plenty of smoke flavor. They have a lot of other very delicious menu items that are also worthy of sampling such as their shrimp and crawfish. This is a nice spot that you might just zoom past if you didn't notice the bbq smoker in front putting off a nice hint of smoke. Very nice folks running and owning the place with a lot of obvious love put into decorating the place to honor their relative named Elaine that they started the business for in her honor.

Robby M.

Yelp
Ok, the only thing I don't like when I come here is seeing the bottom of the plate. These guys are serving up some of the best BBQ in the city, hands down. Brisket: on point. Ribs: tender and just the right bite. Pistolettes: fried to a golden brown with a crispy outside and tender, fluffy inside. The cracklins are definitely tops in my book - I've had them everywhere and these are some of the best. On our first visit, the chef dropped a bag on our table and said, "here, play with these while you wait." OH. EM. GEE. They were still warm, crispy, but tender, and absolutely delicious. But, despite how fantastic all of that was, the burnt ends stole the show for me. That's it. I'm spoiled. Ruined. A one-meat man now. This was my first time trying burnt ends, actually; I had avoided them 'til now...who enjoys burnt meat? I want blood when I bite into my beef! Definitely not what I was expecting and I was a little sad because the rest of the food on my plate took a back seat to these babies. Sheesh! I just ate (lunch catered by the office), but I'd gladly make that drive for some "dessert" burnt ends! As a bonus, you'll walk in to something special each time you go. We had the Gator Turds on one visit, stuffed jalapenos the next, and burnt ends - always the burnt ends - on the last, but not LAST visit. I knew it, now I'm hungry again. ;)

Yelp
I pass this place everyday M-F on my way to work. Aside from Monday (because they are closed) I see the pit smoking and it always smells so good coming through the car AC. Today I decided to finally stop in and give it a try and it did NOT disappoint. I got one of the lunch specials for Tuesdays. 2 meats with 2 sides. Smoked brisket and a alligator turd lol, which is a jalapeño stuffed with meat and wrapped in bacon. Baked beans and andouille Mac n cheese. EVERYTHING was awesome. My ONLY con is the bbq sauce that came on the side. (I myself am not a huge bbq sauce fan UNLESS it's spicy) so the sweet bbq sauce it came with wouldn't be my first choice. So aside from that tiny thing, everything was delicious. I will definitely be going back!!

Amy B.

Yelp
Oh! So! Good! We rolled into town on this rainy day after a long drive... hungry...tired...and had no idea where to eat...after googling around a bit we came upon this fine establishment! And we are so glad we did! This was our first time in New Orleans and Billy and his adorable server were extremely hospitable and helped us So Cal kids navigate the menu and put together an incredible meal! Super tasty food and comfy vintage 80's decor...money well spent. Keep up the good work guys and thank you!

Sharky C.

Yelp
From their misogynistic post on International Women's Day, it is obvious that they may have a clear disdain for women. Makes you wonder how they treat their women guests overall. My wife saw the post and now does not feel like she would be respected as a guest. Guess this establishment is off our places to eat and to recommend to our friends when they come in from out of town. Especially our women friends.

Gary H.

Yelp
I'm Harahan resident for 30 yrs & never tried this place..... Unbelievable good / very large portions.... Got ribs, pork, beef brisket, corn grits, bbq beans..... Highly recommend.....delicious

Lisa S.

Yelp
Stopped by on our way to visit plantations. Tres Bon did not disappoint. We had 2 two meat platters; one with brisket and ribs, the other with brisket and pulled pork. The food was absolutely divine, so tasty and tender. I could have had just the brisket and grits. But the pulled pork and the ribs were just as tender and delicious. If I ever find my way back to the area, I'm definitely coming back.

Cherie B.

Yelp
Went here for the first time. We had the cheese stuffed boudin balls which were delicious. We ordered the 3 meat platter, we had baby back ribs, brisket and pulled pork. All was cooked perfect the ribs fell off the bone, the brisket was moist and not cut to thick or thin the pulled pork had a ton of flavor and not so fatty. My sides Sausage Mac and cheese and baked beans which both were tasty. The staff was extremely friendly. Just a great family place to eat some down home bbq and very reasonable prices

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
I was hopeful for this place but it did not turn out as I had hoped. The other poor reviews of this place were not lying. First let me state that the counter girl was nice and accomodating and knowledgeable. The food is ample but just not flavored to my liking. I had ordered stuffed bell peppers plate. It came with 2 sides and a corn bread muffin. The bell peppers were large in size and fully stuffed but the filling was bland and mushy while the topping had a big splash of hot sauce and a melted grated cheese that mustve hardened over a heat lamp. The sides I chose were mac n cheese with andouille sausage crumbs and corn grits. The corn grits were ok...a bit bland but still ok. The mac n cheese was watery and the andouille sausage crumbs did it no favors. Then there's the corn muffin. This was hard and dry. It also had bits of sausage in it. It was just not good. Along with that plate we also has a pulled pork sandwhich with fries. The fries were good and cooked well. The pulled pork sandwhich was also decent but the bread quickly got soggy. In addition, we purchased some fresh cracklins. They tasted stale and flavorless. I was really looking forward to try this fresh but was sadly dissapointed. Also the ceiling was leaking right by the seating area. Im willing to give this place another shot bc I have read about their brisket being good and had not tried it. So I got my fingers crossed for out next visit. If you still wanna try this place , there is a coupon on local flavor.

Thomas A.

Yelp
If you go in the evening, be ready for a lack of customer service. The workers are more concerned about their friends that are hanging out there waiting for their free food. Went there the past few times after work and its always 3-4 teens hanging out and the workers are actually ignoring customers. Went in there yesterday about 15-20 mins before close and got basically scraps. Meanwhile one kid was back there serving up the rest of the food for their friends. $30 bucks is what I paid and really wasn't worth it. $18 for a plate of scraps and $10 for cold cracklins, I'm so done with this place, and I've spent tons of money there before

Nicole F.

Yelp
Très Bon was super good. We had the meat pies (poor thing didn't last for a pic), Brisket Fries and fresh cracklin's. Brisket was super moist and the cheese sauce mixed with their homemade BBQ made them even better. Everyone was nice and friendly. Great customer service. Will definitely be back.

Kris C.

Yelp
Let me first start off by the people working there are nice and helpful. The food on the other hand is okay. The brisket was tender but was served in some kind of sauce. Never had brisket like that before and it wasn't very appetizing. The pulled pork was okay, but didn't have that smoked flavor that I normally associate pulled pork with. The sides are mediocre. The baked beans taste like they were straight from a can with nothing added. The baked macaroni was sitting under heat lamps, like most of the other food, and was very crunchy. It must have been sitting there awhile. Hopefully it was an off day and will try it again sometime in the future.

Christine D.

Yelp
Restaurant just reopened after being renovated. Went today for lunch. I ordered the "2 meats, 2 sides, and dinner roll and drink." It cost me $28. Food was only barely warm. The best item was the dinner roll. Worst item was the Mac and cheese. I dined with two other co-workers. None of us was satisfied. Over-rated. Overpriced.

Celeste H.

Yelp
We frequently go and grab some tres bon while at work for lunch. I have to say, I have yet to have anything that wasn't delicious. My favorite go to is the brisket sandwich. The bread is buttery and toasted and there is a TON of brisket on the sandwich. I've had it with the coleslaw which is delightfully light, the andouille mac and cheese (YUM) and today I had the fries (Ask for the special dipping sauce - it was PERFECT!). The owner who is there is really great, he's happy to help and make things as easy as possible. You can see that this man puts his all into his work - everything is freshly made! My boss picked up a bacon wrapped tenderloin (stuffed with cream cheese and peppers) for Mother's Day and he said it was GONE in a flash before he even got to try it! I'll def be putting that on my list for the next cookout I go to. Let the scent of the smoker lure you in! Located really easy to find at Little Farms and Jeff Hwy. I highly recommend!

Claire I.

Yelp
Food is so incredibly delicious! Very unique dishes that are incredibly good. Portion sizes are extremely generous, we always have left overs. One of our very favorite Cajun BBQ places around! Fresh meats are also available for purchase in the coolers.

June J.

Yelp
This place is mediocre at best. Also, it's so very expensive considering the quality of food you get.

Cascade A.

Yelp
Absolutely love this BBQ spot. This place introduced me to cheese grits and corn. Oh my what a nap I had after that side dish. The brisket is nice flavorful and tender. The ribs is delicious. Will be my regular spot while visiting NOLA.

Rachelle L.

Yelp
Best barbecue I have had. Not only is the food amazing, the owner works the counter. Service is also amazing. He will answer any questions you have about their changing menu. There are different options daily. The rib tips were my favorite. Grab N Go/Take N Bake options also if you wanna cook it yourself. Owner said he also encourages Uber eats and Waitr orders for those that don't feel like driving out to river ridge. It's totally worth the drive though!

Allyssa H.

Yelp
Their cracklins were tasty and well priced. The guys at the counter were super helpful and kind!

Anthony L.

Yelp
Cajun Style Fare in The Neighborhood : Tres Bon Cajun Meats You won't be disappointed at this new place in the neighborhood that features Cajun food only known to the out reaches of the metro area. I had the crawfish pie, crawfish balls, crackling, and boudin sausage. It might be the best I had anywhere else. If not the best it's highly debatable if there might be better elsewhere.

Jason K.

Yelp
Food is awesome but a meat plate that had two ribs and three little slices of chicken was not worth the price.

Jonathan E.

Yelp
This place never disappoints. The standard menu is spot on delicious. They're not afraid to throw a little spice and a lot of smoke in their food. I live nearby and go regularly so I am always trying the specials. They always nail the seafood whether it's the shrimp dishes or the crawfish boil. My BBQ is getting better because of this place.

Nesi J.

Yelp
I wish i had the same experience as the other reviews but truth be told the only reason they're getting 2 stars is because the meat was tender. Sadly, it was completely flavorless and for a Cajun joint that is surprising and disappointing. I ordered a brisket sandwich and cracklins and neither one of them had a lick of seasoning on them . A waste of $18 smh..

James B.

Yelp
Alright, to start out I really wanted to like Tres Bon. As a new Harahan resident, it is just a short drive from my place. I totally see what the reviewers have said about the counter staff. If she tried harder, she could be considered apathetic. But hey, some people are just not the sunshine speaking, rainbow farting outgoing types. I have endured worse for good grub. I ordered the brisket meal for myself, coleslaw and cajun fries . And Chicken Tenders and Mac and Cheese for my 2 kids, a no brainer right? Ah, I also wanted to redeem the Boudin Balls, which seem to be reviewed harshly. I LOVE good Boudin! Well, my food arrived, I ask for a side of mayo for my fries, which I assume is to be forthcoming. I sit down with my two offspring, and little would I know that the cashiers demeanor would be the bright spot of the dining experience. Oh, where to start??? My Brisket, was simultaneously dry, and soaked, the sign of overcooked brisket. My fries, were not Cajun, and NOT house made, they are frozen fries with not too bad flavor, but SOOO not Cajun. My coleslaw tasted odd, it was starting to turn. When the cashier brought me my boudin balls, I informed her of such which I heard her relay to the guy in the back, but she never offered another side. My slaw and I sat there, both staring at each other in awkward silence as I wondered why I had come here.. Oh yeah, proximity, and Groupon.. The Boudin balls were crispy on the outside, good sign.. But upon cracking these monster size Boudin Balls open, I was greeted by a mush of too much overcooked rice, and too little meat of any kind. The only ones which were palatable were the cheese stuffed ones, and hey, it is hard to mess up melted cheese. But, once I ate the cheese, I was left with a bland, mushy Boudin Ball. Oh, and with my combo, there came some sort of meat stuffed muffin of some sort, which I wished they had kept. Awful, just awful. Now on to my kids meals.. They came with 2 fingers, and some mac and cheese. The fingers were over-fried and hard.. The Mac and Cheese was overcooked and light years from anything resembling al dente. I could go on, but will leave it to say that my 2 kids finished neither their Chicken Fingers, and barely touched their Mac and Cheese.. 'nough said? If you cannot get a 3 and 4 year old to eat Mac and Cheese and Chicken Fingers, you have FAILED, and miserably. I left much of my Boudin behind, and I LOOOVE Boudin. Good Boudin, which this was not! Altogether, not a good dining experience. I miss LA Smokehouse.. I'm not gonna tell you not to eat here, but if you do, you will be sorry. Not worth the prce, not worth the drive, and not worth your time. From the framed write-up hanging on the wall, at one time they must have been a taste treat.. But, the owner needs to have a come to Jesus moment with his staff. Your staff is killing your business. Or maybe you've just stopped caring. A shame, because Harahan/RIver Ridge needs a business of your genre.. Just not you.

Amanda S.

Yelp
The brisket is dry despite being soaked in grease. Mac and cheese has no flavor at all.

Mary W.

Yelp
Their BBQ was good but do not get the cracklin. You will be highly disappointed. I was so disappointed with them I had to turn my car around and ask for a refund. The owner was not very happy and threw abbot of a fit. The ribs and chicken were really good but I made the mistake of going in the evening and the customer service left much to be desired.

Keli L.

Yelp
What a delicious meal! The guy working the counter went above and beyond to take care of us. He put together a plate of various foods as we couldn't quite decide on what to have. Everything from the crackling to pulled pork to pork belly to ribs to Mac and cheese was great. I would highly recommend the ribs! They just fell off the bone. I would make sure I had them with the table top BBQ sauce as that brought it all together. The beer is also reasonably priced. We had 6 beers for $8. You can't beat that. A great local joint. Most tables were enjoying the crawfish. Seems to be a local favorite.

Carrie L.

Yelp
Delicious! I had a pulled pork bbq with red onions with fries, and the hash in the front. Both were really good. They had cream soda which is a plus. Very masculine inside, good music playing....

Amanda M.

Yelp
Go...just go! This place is super cute with a country store vibe! They carry all kinds of local products in addition to their already sprawling menu. Everything we had was next level delicious. The boudin balls were the BEST I've ever had...ever! Lookin at you Lafayette. The sauce that comes with them was a gem in and of itself lol. I could easily eat my body weight in it! Now to the meat sweat portion of this review. Holy shit they have it all, pulled pork, brisket, ribs, pigs in a blanket, chicken, this legit AF hamburger.....I'm still full from all that. They sides are worth trying too....the cajun egg rolls, grits, mac n cheese... you name it the got it and it's worth every penny!!!!

Nick B.

Yelp
Man, there are some gripey people in these reviews. Great food, great service, great people. No idea what anyone could really find fault with. Sorry if there are, like, some crumbs in your mac and cheese, or you think the staff "looked at you weird," or "they don't make it right, like we do in Texas" or whatever. This is why nobody trusts Yelpers. :(

Joshua J.

Yelp
Food was terrible, staff/owner are flat out rude. Wasted 40 bucks on lunch. I'll go to Smoked next time, great food & friendly owners.

Roger B.

Yelp
Out of town company were coming in for a visit in a few weeks. Trying to plan ahead, I stopped in to check out Tres Bon's meat, thinking maybe I would buy something special to grill over the weekend and impress the guests... As you enter, there is a refrigerator-freezer area to the right. There was a nice selection of preseasoned and smoked meats to choose from. I had a hard time deciding between a tenderloin and a brisket. Finally went with the tenderloin. (As an after note, the company thought the tenderloin was great.) Since it was lunch time, I decided to buy lunch to take home. I wanted some of the brisket since I had bought the tenderloin, but they were sold out. I settled for a pulled pork sandwich pistolette for lunch. Added a side of Dirty rice. I enjoyed the lunch.

Jane D.

Yelp
This place was AWESOME. We got the brisket, the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw on top, and pretty much tried all the sides (potato casserole was out of this world--also try the corn and grits--YUM) and we were blown away. We were driving down Jeff hwy and decided to give this little place a shot and I'm glad we did because it's our new bbq place. Great beer selection, our waiter Chris was hilarious not to mention the entire place is filled with personality and a serious hot sauce collection. 10/10, definitely coming back.

Yelp
Shrimp and corn chowder was great. Will get that again. Cracklins are ok but could be better. No flavor. Kinda like bacon. I take them home and season them myself. But it wouldnt keep me from buying them again. It seems that the owner needs some kitchen help. His little cashier is sweet and a good helper. But, it looks like he's trying to do it all himself. Shelving for their brand of seasoning too close to the lunch tables. Move them back some. Maybe trade places - booths for the shelves.

Yelp
Enjoyed a fabulous plate lunch with all the fixings. Candied bacon is fabulous. Cheese stuffed meatballs and grits are the bomb!!! Great service and rockin music.

Yelp
Best BBQ in the world ! I like getting the sampler platter as I know I'll always have some to take home ! The meats are mouth watering and full of flavor ! The ribs are divine and the sides are always savory and hearty ! This is really the only place my husband and I want to go eat at when in the area ! Can't wait to come back and take home goodies from their to go freezer meals ! We found this place on google maps and are SO happy we did ! Definitely created another loyal customer here ! Also check out all the nostalgia items the owner has on display....really cool stuff and has two pinball machines you can play !

Yelp
I have been driving past this little place for weeks now waiting for opening day so I could check it out. Finally, today I realized they opened on Wednesday! I live right down the street here in river ridge and was so excited to have something like this finally come to our neighborhood. I hurried over after work before they closed at 8. When I arrived I was greeted very pleasantly! They have a good selection of wines and a few chilled in the cooler. Which is very nice. When you walk in there are some shirts for sale and a nice array of fry seasonings and spices. The coolers have different types of raw meats and stuffed goodness! I can't wait to try them all. Pre-seasonend and ready to pop in the oven for an easy delicious meal. Though, tonight I did not feel like cooking so I opted to try some of their cooked specials. I chose the fried blackened drum special with Cajun fries. Huge filet and great flavor! I also tried one of each of their regular and stuffed boudin balls. The only suggestion I would have on those would be that I prefer a bit more rice in the stuffing. Also one of the types, I believe the pepper jack stuffed ball, didn't have as much cheese as the perfectly done Gouda stuffed. Lastly I got the traditional meat pie and the crawfish meat pie. Both were awesome! My favorite was the traditional even though it was a tad greasy the flavor was phenomenal!! The staff was beyond friendly and attentive!! I can't wait until they get the ball rolling and see what else they come up with. Oh and next time I'm definitely trying their boiled crawfish!!

Yelp
Tried this new place and was very pleasantly surprised. This guy knows how to smoke meat son! Chicken fried steak and dirty rice on Thursdays and the portions are huge. Hope ya'll come when crawfish cornbread is on the menu too. This joint is a winner!
