The Essential Guide to San Juan Capistrano

Best Restaurants, Bars, and Hotels for a San Juan Capistrano Staycation | Eater San Diego

"I like Trevor’s at the Tracks for a cocktail—the lively spot in the former train depot is often the first stop for rail passengers as they disembark, and locals affectionately call it SJC’s “swim-up bar.”" - Candice Woo

Great vibes both on the patio and inside - we got seated rather quickly at a hightop on Saturday night, party of 2. Food was familiar but with a twist. Easy parking in the paid parking structure. In an energetic area and a good option if you’re entertaining guests. Would go back again and try more items off the menu.

First timer to Trevor's at the Tracks. We sat in the patio to hear the live music which was wonderful. Patio has retrackable covers and umbrellas to block direct sunlight. We had a cab bottle from their CA wine list. I was unfamiliar with any labels but tastes were offered and tried two and chose one. Our entrees were the brussel sprout starter and the grilled salmon with veg chopped hash and cauliflower puree. Both were Amazing and the cab went surprisingly well with flavors. We had the starter served with the entree to give flavor balance, it worked! Service was efficient and wine glasses were refilled by service when observed low. We met Trevor the owner just by hapchance not that we knew him but recognized him from restaurant's good reputation. He is a humble owner and was working doing meanial staff jobs like sweeping and moving umbrellas. No arrogance here. Perfectly comfortable dining experience and highly recommended! *****

First visit, this is a great, very different location, with a train stopping literally next door. The “Pretty Bird Chicken Sandwich” ($24) was very good, served with very good fries and spicy ketchup. The food was served hot, in a very reasonable time. The “English Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake ($14), was just OK. I’ve had this dessert in England and this was a poor try at it, although it did taste OK. The service was good, paid city parking lot ($2 / hr), but the total experience was quite dear, not someplace to visit regularly. Recommended.

Google
Such a quaint area and ambiance. I recommend it as a cool experience to all. The flatbread I had was yummy. My friend has the short rib Bahn mi. I had the spicy Sicilian flatbread and it was great, the only comment I have is that one side of it was darkened crispy crust and the other side was perfectly cooked. Other than that it was a great experience.

The food was absolutely amazing here! We tried the karate chip chicken salad and a chicken sandwich, along with the tropical cobbler for desserts. There was a moderate to long wait probably because it was a Labor Day weekend, but it was absolutely worth it! They were even kind enough to serve a patty for our dog! Adding to the ambiance was the live music that just made the experience even better. We'll certainly be visiting this place again!

First time here and everything we ate was delicious… kiddos loved the food which is always a win win!! Jasmine was our waitress and she was kind, attentive and informative!!! We definitely will be back!

Brought my dad on a walk around the area, I've been here before with my friend and brought him the next day. He liked the live music and we went here almost everyday for the vibes, food wasn't too bad- selectively I'd go for the flatbread (really liked the chicken pesto&bbq chicken) and service was great. Dad labs the taco beer 3 days in a row! So this is our go to now Everytime he comes back to Cali, my parents likes this place. Worth the buck for the atmosphere and overall experience.

Trevor’s at the Tracks is a true gem in the heart of San Juan Capistrano. The location is unbeatable—set right next to the train station, making it a perfect spot for people watching and soaking in the charming energy of the town. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed watching the trains roll in and out while people came and went. It added a lively, nostalgic atmosphere to our meal. We ordered the Mac & Cheese with Chicken Parmesan and the Spicy Pasta. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. The Mac & Cheese is rich and decadent—definitely a comfort food indulgence, and more than my mom could finish. The Spicy Pasta brought the perfect amount of heat without being overwhelming. Loved the fresh mushrooms, tomatoes and spinach in the dish. The service was top-notch. Friendly, attentive staff made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down. Trevor’s is clearly set up to accommodate everything from casual lunches to larger gatherings, and the ambiance is versatile enough for any occasion. Whether you're a local or just visiting San Juan Capistrano, Trevor’s at the Tracks is a must-visit spot.

Yelp
Omg I love this place so much!!! Our friend recommended this place for our trip to stop by for lunch. My kid is a big fan for trains, and this made me ultra cool for bringing him here haha. The decorations are so nice inside. We sat by the fireplace which was super cozy. We had the best waitress ever, who made sure we feel welcomed and gave good recommendations. My husband had a salad with Tuna that tastes great. I ordered a Cobb salad, it was so fresh and well made. I honestly loved it and will just come back for that. My kid had some fried chicken, which was moist and tasty! A super plus. We will be back with more family members soon

Yelp
Made it back to Trevor's again last week. As usual, the place was super busy on a Saturday, but service was a little slower than usual, which was fine with us. I hardly eat out anymore, everything is so expensive, and having a cocktail or a glass of wine-even more so. And this place is no exception. So we skipped the cocktails. "Wok the Wok" Asian style cioppino with salmon, scallops, shrimp, and fish was delicious, tasty broth, two slices of baguette, definitely a hit. Chimichurri fries from the appetizers made for a whole meal. The four fish tacos for an appetizer were also, as before, incredibly tasty. I don't go out much now, but when I do, I think of Trevor's!

Yelp
Our family of 4 plus my father in law plus another family of 4 visited on Tuesday Nov 11 2025. We walked in at about 6:45 and there was plenty of room for us. We choose to sit inside by the fire since it was breezy and chilly out. It was really nice. All the kids enjoyed watching the trains coming through periodically. The Seafood Chowder was really good. The french onion soup was pretty good - for some reason it left a bad flavor in my mouth, overnight. The fried chicken sandwich was juicy, crunchy...delicious! The pickle made the sandwich. My FIL kept commenting about the temperature of the ketchup. Its served in little cups and must be kept in a fridge. He had the french dip, which was excellent (I had half). It has onions and peppers on it which makes a great flavor. It was a lot of food. My buddy had the chicken bowl and deconstructed it - he was happy but said he was still hungry afterward. He also said the his egg was overcooked - not enough yolk... His wife had the fish and chips and she really enjoyed it. Insanely hot when it came out though. My 10 yr old was still hungry after she ate the kids pizza, so we ordered her a second one - next time we'll have her order off the regular menu. My 9 yr old had the burger and fries. And he was happy. I would definitely come again - the food and atmosphere is great.

Yelp
WE ARE ALL ABOARD, AND ALWAYS READY TO HAVE A GREAT TIME HERE... TREVOR'S At The TRACKS, San Juan Capistrano, California! IYKYK, TREVOR'S is a Very Special Spot where you're gonna wanna stop & stay for a while! We've been coming to this Grand Landmark destination, back when it was Sarduccis Restaurant. And couldn't be more thrilled when TREVOR'S opened their doors 8 years ago! The Restaurant is Absolutely Lovely! It's nestled in a picturesque historic Capistrano Depot. The original building dates back to 1894! Even after many renovations, the Special Mission Architecture setting still remains here! I love how TREVOR'S uses local ingredients from their farm! They also have a beautiful herb garden right outside their restaurant. You can Absolutely Taste their Farm-To-Table Passion! Their Menu is an International Inspired Explosion of Flavors! From their Arrivals Apps, Flatbreads, Sopas to their main All Aboard Entrees, and there are so many more options to choose from here! Must Get their AHI Poke Nachos! It's an Aloha Hawaiian Island Explosion in your mouth! They have so many Healthy Salads, that you can undoubtedly taste the Farm-to-Table ingredients! It's what's in season, which is the reason why it's Always so Fresh & Delicious! My Husband loves their "The Burger of Burgers"~ Two Angus Chuck 1/4 lb Patties w/ American Cheese & so much more! Their house made Smokey Chipotle Ketchup is addicting & trust me, no fry will be left behind, I guarantee! I Heart their Aguachile De Camarones. Their Ceviche is so Fresh & Delicious! Love the Lime & Chile Pepper puree, it's a tad bit Spicy and so Tasty! They have a Wonderful Wine Selection... "The World In A Glass" Indeed! TREVOR'S is quite large, there are intimate Romantic spots throughout the restaurant and lots of wonderful spaces to host a large party! We love their outdoor patio. They have a large wrap around bar! And have Live Music Nightly featuring Local Artists! And if you sit in the back area of the restaurant against the tracks, you asked for it, lol, cause the Trains come whistling by frequently! All the Staff here is Superb! And don't be surprised if you see the owner, Trevor, he's such a nice guy, and always around greeting & helping happily! Don't forget to stop by and get a Fresh Baked Cookie, you can't miss the aromas next to the reception area! Parking can be a bit challenging, but don't let that be the Train Station Stopper! TREVOR'S At The TRACKS is without question, a Special Must Stop Spot!

Yelp
Brussel sprouts - Enjoyed the cranberries and goat cheese in this dish. I wish they were a little more on the crispy side. Lots of the balsamic glaze. Chimichurri Steak Fries - If you love chimichurri, this is the dish for you. I really liked the flavor, but wish there was a little more steak. Outdoor seating fills up quickly, so be prepared to wait or get there early. Inside dining is fine, but definitely a different atmosphere.

Yelp
It was last year in April when I took my very first train ride from San Diego to Little Tokyo and I distinctly remember one of the stops. We were seated on ocean view side of the Pacific Surfliner and I noticed this quaint little street with old homes cutely decorated amidst big old trees that gave them good shade. Little did I know that that was along the Los Rios Historical district - the oldest neighborhood in California. Fast forward to Sunday, October 19: My Orange County friend wanted to meet up for lunch and my suggestion was Trevor at the Tracks. She has never been to this area as well so we will both wonder and behold what this mission town has to offer. Finding parking was easy and free at the Los Rios park along Ramos St. Trevor's is certainly a beautiful landmark with its 40 foot dome, bell tower and tall arches - a structure dating from the 1890s. I was surprised a reservation wasn't needed even when the patio area was abuzz with diners. I was quickly seated at a table by the big windows facing the tracks per my request so my friend's grandson can marvel at the big trains halting to a stop while passengers board and deboard. Our perfect meal started with one simple dinner salad served on a small square bowl which we shared. The main meal is a Chargrilled Flatbread embellished with the sweetness of Fig tapenade, the earthy and nutty profile of Cremini mushrooms, savory and umami notes of caramelized onions, the intricate tanginess of herbed goat cheese, and the peppery, spicy kick of Arugula microgreens! At first bite I told myself, how could something that looks so simple be full of complex flavors! We loved it and me having the bigger appetite, ate six of the eight slices. I also love the fact that the ingredients are all locally sourced! And here's one unique feature you probaby won't notice unless you're an observant railfan...the restrooms - at least the men's restroom is a converted old train car. A cool place to go Choo-choo in the loo!

Yelp
Service is wonderful, sunday evening had live music with a musician singing acoustic covers with his guitar, there were string lights crossing over the patio. It was such a perfect vibe and everyone was so sweet to our dog too. A Lotta Burrata (5/5) - really tasty and I normally don't like olives but it was mixed in well to give a nice umami flavor and balance out the creamy burrata so I really didn't mind it. Brussels Sprouts (3/5) - not as crispy and crunchy as I would have liked. Balsamic AND cranberries made it too sweet. Turkish Fig & Fungi (2/5) - 3rd time ordering, 2nd time not liking. I really wanted to give it a second chance but mushrooms were not prepared well on it (just dry and tasteless - like the 2nd time) and the balsamic drizzle WITH the fig just made the dish way too sweet. Fettuccini Fiore (5/5) - so creamy and delicious and flavorful. I was so sad that I was too full to have more of this since it came at the end but probably best for me because of how heavy it was. Even though the food was a little bit more hit or miss, the vibes really bring it together. This is such a unique spot. Even if you are seated in the patio, do take a look at the inside and see what strange wonderous architecture blending a building with a train car can be!

Yelp
My friend and I visited Monday night for dinner. We didn't have reservations but were seated within 10 minutes. The patio was packed which was exciting to see, and they had someone playing live music. Before being seated we stopped at the bar for drinks. The guy serving us lacked personality big time. They were out of titos which was a bummer also- it wasn't a great first impression, but once we were seated Macy greeted us and the initial experience washed away. Macy was awesome, knew the menu well, and helped us make some great selections for dinner. We ordered the backyard BBQ chicken which was excellent, cooked perfectly with pickled onions on top that gave it a fun twist! Short rib banh mi also tasty and very shareable. Fries and a side salad. After eating my friend and I chatted under the nice outdoor heating lamp and when it was time for Macy to leave another sweet gal with blond hair took over for her. They were both very sweet and made the experience a positive one. It was also pretty fun to watch, hear, and feel the train roll through town!

Yelp
It's hard to beat this location in San Juan! Love the vibe here, and they even had live music when we went on a Monday evening. Came here for drinks and apps and it was a nice little stop with great service. Food and drinks were just fine, nothing too memorable though.

Yelp
What an amazing lunch at Trevor's today. We started with Margaritas with chips and salsa. Guillermo and Isaiah provided stellar service. Guillermo was our main server and was simply fantastic. The ambiance is so nice and we sat at the outdoor bar area with a view of the Dos Lagos area and the Metro Link area. For our entrees my wife had the Seoul bowl and I had the chicken milanese. Both dishes were fantastic. I also had a chance to say hello to Trevor and he is always busy and working hard at his establishment. The overall dining experience was wonderful. Great food, great service and wonderful people. The background music is also very nice. Highly recommended.

Yelp
A friend and I took the train up from Oceanside this morning. We weren't super hungry so decided to get Arnold Palmer's and share an appetizer at Trevor's at the Tracks. We had lunch here a couple months ago so we knew it would be good. Service was exceptional and the guacamole appetizer was so good. We didn't try anything from the bakery but our server made it tempting. Great place with superb service.

Yelp
Trevor's at the Tracks is a beautiful space right next to the train station down in the Los Rios district in San Juan Capistrano. The restaurant is very large and I personally love sitting on the patio and listening to the bustle of the people from the train and the calm from the beautiful fountain. I got the vegan poke and it was really interesting. It was almost more like a vegan sushi roll - basically it's chopped up tomato and onion in a sauce added to a hallowed out cucumber. I really liked the idea, but it needed something to really round it out. Maybe a dipping sauce, avocado, something. It was also really spicy! I also tried the mushroom, fig and goat cheese flatbread and it was pure perfection! Our server and all staff were fantastic. I look forward to coming back soon!

Yelp
I loved this place, it's a total must try as a tourist kind of place. I really enjoyed the ambiance the love band, the delicious food. I had a blueberry old fashioned and it's been one of the best I've ever had, the service is great and the whole restaurant is nicely decorated, definitely passed the vibes test.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this lovely restaurant after visiting the art gallery nearby. We were starving and this place hit the spot. It's in such a key location and I love being able to watch the train from inside and surprisingly it's loud. The inside is chic and not too over the top. Very welcoming! Their food is quite good, if you have a little one make sure to ask for a kids meal. I found out they have a kids cheese pizza that my daughter loved! I ordered the ahi nachos and was very pleased.
google avatar

Yelp
We came here to hear our friend play music and since it is a restaurant we had dinner first. The food was delicious cooked to perfection served hot and quickly even though it was a busy time for dinner My only reason for leaving off one star is the prices are a little more than I like to spend even though it was large portions and high quality food it makes me a little uncomfortable paying $95 for two people I might come back again for appetizers but not dinner

Yelp
Trevor's was SO amazing! My good friend and I wanted a place with a fire, since it was such a rainy night. Trevor's did not disappoint! Not only were we seated promptly but the service was impeccable! We got cups of the seafood chowder (red) and macaroni to share! The mac was so creamy and cheesy and the soup was just what we needed to warm up after the rain. Had the best time!! There was live music and happy dancing; great place to be!

Yelp
Beautiful weekend dinner with the bf and parents spent under the setting sun on Trevor's outdoor patio. This is seriously the place to be to enjoy a nice, more upscale but still casual meal with loved ones. There's live music at 7 pm and the entire place is lit up with twinkly lights and you can have fun pointing out the trains that come zooming right by the tracks. Food was on the pricier end given its location but all were fantastic and so delicious. I got the fetuccine fiore and added grilled chicken which was so yummy. Make sure to get the ahi poke nachos app. They also do excellent non alcoholic beers and mocktails! Service was beyond amazing! I'm excited to return
google avatar

Yelp
We came here to meet a family friend and wanted to find a cute lunch spot. This place was definitely a good choice. We were seated promptly without any reservations on a Saturday. Our server was very attentive. The food was pretty good. I had the chef's special Mac and Cheese elevated with a piece of chicken and their tomato sauce. This place is right by the train tracks so you'll occasionally see the Amtrak coming through.

Yelp
What a unique place with great food! We came here for my bf's 27th birthday and what a great place this was. It love the design and the atmosphere. We were quite a big group, so I was thankful to our server for being patient with us as it took us some time to decide on things. We ordered a lot, so I'll list it off. Chimchurri Steak Fries - 6/10 Mushroom Flat Bread - 9/10 Arrancini - 8/10 Ribs - 10/10 Cioppino - 7/10 Fettuccini - 8/10 Short Rib - 6.5/10 (the sauce and veggies were the best part) Great atmosphere for a nice family dinner or date night. It's fun to watch the trains go by. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Great location in downtown San Juan Capistrano! Perfect for a summer night. PROS: -Overall great vibes on the outdoor patio. Enjoyed the live music! -Great appetizer selection. We ordered the guac (5/5), Brussels sprouts (5/5), Mac & cheese (4/5), the bacon wrapped dates (3/5), and the Ahi poke nachos (2/5) -Love that it's locally sourced ingredients -Yummy cocktails. I ordered the "Captain Gnar" and really enjoyed it. CONS: -I do give them a break because we were a larger party, but service was a bit slow. Sever was working hard and doing their best, but on a busy night you may wait awhile. -New York strip steak entree was only okay unfortunately. Very tough and not a huge fan of the flavor combos. A little disappointing for $50 Would return for the vibes, apps, and drinks!

Yelp
We stopped in for drinks and a snack before catching the train back to Fullerton. The Pear Favor cocktail and truffle sausage flatbread were both excellent. The bartenders were friendly, and it was a treat to relax at the bar and watch the trains go by.
google avatar

Yelp
First time in SJC, Trevor's was conveniently next to the train station and had live music to entice us over. We were seated right away on the nice patio. For food, the good stuff was the ahi poke nachos, arancini and truffle fries (altho wish the fries were thinner). We also ordered the Mac and cheese which I thought was just ok. Weather was nice, drinks were refreshing (but weak) and service was really great. The live music was a nice treat.
google avatar

Sarah E.

Yelp
Good food and great location, but terribly slow service and pricey! Was surprised there wasn't a wait when we showed up - or at least there wasn't to be seated. When we were at the table, we had to wait 20 minutes for our server to come, to get water, etc. We weren't ready to order (since we didn't have menus), so it was another 20 minutes until she came back. She seemed pretty grumpy, too, when she did come. We were celebrating a birthday, which she didn't even acknowledge. The food was good, but portions aren't large and prices are high. Probably won't be coming back, with so many other options nearby.
google avatar

Kyna N.

Yelp
Delicious food, unique views and excellent service! We stopped in for a late lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The prime rib sandwich was so tender and flavorful and ahi salad was fresh and light. We ended our meal with the toffee butter cake and some hot tea as we watched the trains go by to a golden sunset. A great way to end our day in SJC. Side note: Our baby woke up towards the end of the meal and as I pulled out the baby formula, a server or manager (?) stopped by the table to ask if we'd like hot water for the bottle. Service was on point all night!
google avatar

Leslie H.

Yelp
A darling restaurant in SJC, Trevor's at the Tracks is built in the old train station so it was super cool to see some of the historical pieces of the station throughout the restaurant. The train literally passes right next to the restaurant. Came on a Saturday around 1:30 and it was pretty busy, around a 30 min wait but we enjoyed the opportunity to walk around the town and Rodeo at River street. There was also a live band that played classy music which was a great addition to the already fun ambiance. We enjoyed some cocktails and a cup of seafood chowder which was amazing. The fig and fungi flatbread was very flavorful and the steak and chimichurri frites were awesome! This is a great restaurant and would surely come back to enjoy.
google avatar

Yelp
If you're looking for casual place and an amazing ambiance then this is the place to be. They have a great patio and it's next to the train tracks. Love their food and service. Ohh and they have live band playing greatest hits. So fun to take friends, family or a date.

Yelp
The ambiance, service and food were wonderful. The ribs were a bit too spicy for my stomach, but that was the only thing that disrupted the evening. My wife's retirement dinner was excellent. We'll be back soon with family and friends!

Yelp
Was wanting to try this place for a long time, and the menu looked great, but I was really disappointed. The location is perfect, the place is very nicely themed/decorated, but the food was not good at all, and service was nonexistent. My biggest issue with this place was how much each of the dishes were lacking cohesion. To begin with, the Chimichurri Fries did not taste good at all. Not only that, they put slices of pepperoni and sprinkled parm cheese on it. What about Chimi Fries goes with those? The Sicilian Flatbread was undercooked dough-wise, and it ALSO had an odd taste combination going on. Finally, the shrimp tacos were so mediocre, I swear Taco Bell would've been more flavorful. It's a pity that a place with such a great location and live music etc. would have such bad food.
google avatar

Hana A.

Yelp
Great appetizers! We got the Chimicurri fries, ahi poke nachos, and a flat bread, highly recommend all of them. Vibes are cool for a weekend lunch. Service was great as well. So glad we decided to try this place out finally.

Yelp
Love the ambiance here. They have a lively historic interior and a great view of the trains passing through. Very fun atmosphere. The food is pricey but I assume you're paying for the the view, the vibe, etc. I got the Southwest Cobb and was so disappointed when it came drenched in ranch dressing. I wasn't able to finish it. I'd like to come back to explore more menu items, and I'll remember to ask for dressing on the side.

Yelp
We had a fabulous time last night celebrating one of our favorite peoples birthdays. We had the best waiter. His name is Ruben. I'm telling you if you are lucky enough to have Ruben as your waiter, you not only have a delicious fresh dinner but it's a dinner and a show. He is wonderful and he sang such beautiful happy birthday song to our birthday girl. We sat inside over by the fireplace. They do not take reservations so you really need to be vigilant about the table that you want. I arrive 45 minutes early to get this table, but it was wonderful because Ruben kept me entertained.

Yelp
My wife and I got the Turkish flatbread that we thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend. Our waitress was absolutely awesome and beautiful of course, by the name of Tanya. And the ambiance, well, who can beat that? Very romantic and just a stroll away from the quaint Los Rios avenue. All in all a great experience.

Arash R.

Yelp
Delicious food and great service. Nice vibe and good cocktail creations. Love the live music and majestic outdoor seating. Thank you.

Yelp
Place is a total vibe and our wait was only 20min for a Sat. Lunch. They text you when the table is ready. Great area with lots of amazing restaurants nearby and smaller cottage shops. There is a paid parking garage very close to restaurant for 2 dollars an hour or street parking. Upon entering this historic old train depot which was transitioned to this restaurant, you can almost feel like you're entering a different time. There are very different ambiance's in the different seating areas. I feel like you could eat here many times and almost feel like you're at a different place each time. Especially with a revolving menu. Clam chowder--creamy and perfect flavor (sweet and Smokey) and seasoned just right. The clams and ingredients (pretty much 7seas soup) were fresh and hit the spot. I couldn't get enough of it. The bowl is perfect for sharing or to be enjoyed alone. This is a must try and one of my, if not my favorite thing I tried. My wife got the melon salad and the ingredients were as fresh as they get. I believe it was the melon salad. It came together nicely and was a different taste to most generic salads found at places and was pleasantly refreshing. The Chimichurri Steak Fries were delicious and sized large enough for two or three people. This was a perfect appetizer to order or a meal on its own. The steak was cooked perfectly and the chimichurri sauce was on point. The potatoes had a nice crunch on the skin and everything came together nicely. The cheeseburger was large and came well recommended. My only issue with these burgers are their size. The first bites were ok but after a few minutes with the sauces spilling out of the buns, it gets soggy and just becomes a mess. It quickly became a knife and fork kind of burger. It wasn't bad, but with so many other exciting things on the menu, I would opt for another item next time. Amazing service, the server always had our glasses full and made sure we were well taken care of without making a large presence. Everyone at the restaurant was so friendly and helpful from the host to the server. Definitely check this place out if you can. It's a cool experience with great food.

Yelp
Was surprised that they changed their menu. Some of the items I was looking forward to ordering were no longer available. However, there were many other options that were delicious!! If you're a fan of the Buttermilk Fried Chicken, the chicken milanese was close, just different toppings. The ribs fell off the bones. The salad was large and delicious! Desserts were the brûléed banans and the flan. The flan's texture was more like crème brûlée with orange flavor. Craig was an exceptional waiter. Continually checked on us throughout our stay. Highly recommend Trevors!!

Yelp
The restaurant is super adorable and the service is wonderful. During the weekend, it can be pretty packed but there are sections within the restaurant that offers you a little bit of quiet space. Food wise, it can be a hit and miss for the price. The Fettuccine and the Mac N Cheese was delicious but the truffle fries were too oily and some what bland in taste. You definitely pay a premium for the cute location.

Yelp
This place is right by the metro station and smack in the middle of all beautiful San Juan Capistrano. The outdoor patio area is very modern with live entertainment on weekends. The inside is two old train cars refurbished with a beautiful view. You definitely come for the vibes and while our meal was excellent it was rather small menu. The steak was delicious but it was nothing ground breaking. They had a vast drinks menu and the atmosphere adds that something special. The service was good and for a busy weekend it was rather quick too. Would come back. The area is very cute and this is a nice spot for a date night.

Yelp
Mediocre food with mediocre service. Overpriced . Nothing awful and nothing spectacular. Would not return .

Yelp
Absolute Top Notch in Every Way What can I say, the elegant but cozy small town ambiance, the service, the food, the wine. Everything was PERFECT. Victoria was our server. Every server in the world should be like Victoria!! Friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, kind. She gave us outstanding recommendations, describing each dish for us before she just said "you'll love it". Just the right amount of "checkin in". I can't say enough about how much she elevated our already delightful experience. Three of us ordered and shared a bunch of apps. The Brussel sprouts! Omg you have to have these! Crispy on the outside, just the right amount of soft in the inside, topped with dried cranberries and goat cheese holy cow we could barely wait to actually put them on our plate before we started digging in to eat! Next fave.. vegan meatballs with homemade hummus and pits! Yes please Bacon wrapped figs !! (I only wished there were more than six!) We also thoroughly enjoyed the cheesy flat bread! Oh, and being in the restaurant industry most of my life, I also noticed the little things like how clean and organized this place is. And how helpful everyone was to each other!! It's obvious someone is doing something right!! Go here Ask for Victoria (although id like to bet that all the servers are top notch) And tip well!!! No photos only because we seriously couldn't even wait to dig in!!

Yelp
Very expensive, but don't let the high prices detour you from trying this wonderful restaurant. If I had known it was so much (28 for sandwich and fries/12 for small side salad), I may have passed on it, but I'm so glad I didn't. The outdoor patio is so relaxing and beautiful. Service was top notch and Guillermo R. was on top of everything as well as the bussers continually clearing plates. I loved the passing train that came right behind the bar. Our food looked good and tasted great. My side salad, although pricey, was made with the greatest variety of fresh produce. I'd come back again for sure.

Yelp
Trevor's at the Tracks has something for everyone. Privacy, intimate dining areas, a welcoming covered patio area that abuts up to the train, where you can people watch and enjoy an adult beverage or a delicious fresh lunch or dinner. The service is impeccable from the seating experience at the hostess podium to the servers and bus-team. The kitchen is very mindful of bringing out different courses at the appropriate time. Parking is efficient and easily navigated. Steps away from the SJC Mission, historical villages and the newly introduced Riverwalk Village and petting Zoo. Centrally located for a family friendly day, birthday, special date or just for a wonderful venue to enjoy fabulous cuisine, craft beers and cocktails and don't forget their homemade deserts! Our go to restaurant, Trevor's makes you feel like family and is beyond a magical experience every time! See you tomorrow! Yelp
This spot is definitely a vibe - being in Downtown San Juan, near the train tracks. The brick details are so cool and I love that every table/seating area is unique. The food here is on the pricier end but pretty good. Service was also friendly, although it does get packed and you can have long wait times to get seated. However, once seated, our dinner went smoothly and I'd love to come back.

Yelp
Andrew (Andrei??) was very friendly and attentive at the bar and provided excellent cocktail recommendations, knowing that we were on a short rope waiting for a train. Cocktails are a bit on the high side for SJC, but then, this is a captive audience area so....... The fries are outstanding and probably double fried. Andrew said fried in safflower but my taste buds were thinking either duck fat or tallow. No photos as it was only fries. He also had some excellent recipe suggestions for Polish food based on his and his mother's cooking. We sat outside on what was a warm day but it was certainly cool enough and very pleasant.

Yelp
I Went to Trevor's today for lunch. We had edamame for an app and it was grilled in a nice sauce. I had the Chinese chicken salad. It needed more salt and a more flavorful dressing. I have ordered it before and it was much better, Hmmm. My friends had some soup. Same complaint as it needed more salt and more spices. For desert we had the tropical cobbler with ice cream. THAT was spot on fantastic! Shame.

Yelp
Trevor's at the Tracks sits right next to the Amtrak train station. My husband and I stumbled upon this spot because it was also near the parking structure. We were hungry after some shopping and heard live music playing on our way to the car, so we decided to grab some dinner. Our first impression was great, thanks to the lovely host who greeted us and offered the option to sit indoors or outdoors. We chose to sit outside with the live music and were seated right away with no wait time on a late Sunday afternoon. The sun was going down, so it wasn't too hot. The outdoor seating area was pretty, and the live music wasn't overly loud, allowing us to have a conversation. My husband ordered a white peach sangria with a Parisian Prime Sandwich with fries, and I ordered the Fettuccini Fiore. He enjoyed the sangria, but he thought it tasted a bit more like mango than peach, and he loved his sandwich. The fries were well-seasoning and had a good texture. My pasta was delicious, and the mushrooms were a nice touch for this dish. If you're like us and need something sweet after dinner, you're in for a treat. They bake their own cookies fresh daily, including, oatmeal raisin, white chocolate macadamia nut, chocolate chip, and a cookie royale, which is a double-chocolate cookie. Our favorite was oatmeal raisin. You can order them to go, and they also have delicious coffee. Overall, Trevor's had a cool vibe with friendly staff and good food. If you're in the area, give them a try.

Yelp
Super cute decor and vibe. Met some friends here for lunch and so many menu options looked yummy it was hard to choose. Our waitress gave us some ideas and we went with it. I didn't get photos of everything but we shared a few starters suck as the Ahi Poke Nachos, Fig and Fungi Flatbread, Herb Fries, and a Cob Salad with Salmon. It's definitely a cute place to take the family and watch the train pass by or even a place to go with friends. The restaurant is huge but I hear it's crazy busy on the weekends and sometimes they have a live band play.

Yelp
We came around 1pm on a Saturday and waited about 20 to 30 minutes, which wasn't bad at all for the weekend. The ambiance was great. It felt relaxed and welcoming, and there was a girl playing guitar live while we ate. She was really good and added a nice touch to the experience. Our server, Ryan, was super friendly and helpful, which made everything even better. We started with the poke nachos, and they were honestly the best I've ever had. Generous portion of fish and packed with flavor. For entrees, we had: Salmon Capistrano - Delicious with a generous portion Beef Brine Sandwich - Amazing. The fries were perfectly seasoned and came with a great dip Wok the Wok - Every bite was full of flavor. The coconut taste was subtle and not overpowering Poke Salad - Really good. My only small complaint is that it had a bit too much dressing and not enough crispy wontons. I would still order it again and just ask for adjustments It was also someone's birthday at our table, and they brought out complimentary ice cream and a fruit oat crumble, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Highly recommend this place. Great food, great service, and a great vibe. We will definitely be back!
