Best Pizza Restaurants in Phoenix, Arizona | Eater Phoenix

"Technically a high-end liquor store with a full-service restaurant on the side, Trevor’s Liquor is an unassuming spot to find standout pizza. After a certain internet agitator/online pizza reviewer drew attention to Trevor’s, lines were out the door, but the initial frenzy has since calmed and it’s now easier, finally, to find a table. Pizza remains the main draw: Made with flour from Hayden Flour Mills, the crust has an earthy, complex flavor and nails that elusive crispy-chewy balance. Cooked at a lower temperature in a combination gas-and-wood-fired oven, these pies aren’t fully Neapolitan — but come close. There’s no carryout for pizza, so plan to dine in (and possibly wait) if it’s busy." - McConnell Quinn

I go there for friends, ambiance. & Salads. Arugula is EXCELLENT )I substitute for romaine). To have A high rated pizza (my friends love them), i find them average. This time it was not good (reason 3 stars). By the time we soaked up the grease (that settle in the center) the crust was like paper. I always request not to burn the outside crust. (Ive owned pizza joint, so I’m aware.)

Like a lot of people, me and my friends learned about this place from watching Dave portnoy's Pizza review on YouTube. We were excited to try it and traveled approximately an hour from East Mesa. We enjoyed the vibes of the location and got increasingly excited as we observed the table next to us get delivered an absolutely flawless pizza. We ordered some drinks and appetizers which were good. Unfortunately, when it came time for our first pizza to arrive, (we ordered the "closer to a 8.4" which is the cheese pizza that Dave tried.) We were very disappointed to see a lake of grease covering the entire surface of our pizza. This was a stark contrast to the pizza that was delivered to the table next to us which did not have any extra grease at all. This establishment uses fabric napkins, which we did not find ideal for sopping up the grease, so we just ended up pouring it off when we picked up our slices. We ended up ordering an additional pizza which was one with meat, it's surprisingly had less grease on it than the just cheese but still had quite a bit. The flavor of the ingredients was really good and I could see a lot of potential, but the execution that we received was severely lacking. Would love to have tried the pizza that the table next to us received, it would have scored highly, but we we're not impressed by what we received.

We were visiting Phoenix from Calgary, Alberta, and knew we had to try Trevor’s—and we weren’t disappointed! Our entire experience at the Gaslight Square location was fantastic. From the moment we walked in with our two kids, the service was warm, attentive, and welcoming. Our server was awesome, and gave us great recommendations and was super helpful and patient. We started with the meatballs and Caesar salad—both fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The meatballs were especially memorable, thanks to the creamy ricotta on top, which added just the right touch of richness. For our mains, we ordered a large half-and-half: Double Pep and Trevor’s Combo. Chef’s kiss! The crust hit that perfect balance between crisp and fluffy, and they definitely don’t skimp on the toppings. Every bite was packed with bold, satisfying flavor. The kids shared an 11” cheese, and our 6-year-old devoured it—she declared it the best pizza ever. Whether you’re coming with friends, family, or just craving amazing pizza and drinks, Trevor’s is well worth a visit. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Phoenix!

A lot of people on here talking about Dave in their reviews, but I’ve had this spot on my list since seeing Trevor’s on Diners Drive in and Dives with Guy. We were in the area checking out a few other things and it was a must stop. Locations parking was easy. Which if you know the area can be much harder at some spots. Location was pretty good size. We were greeted right away when walking into the store which was awesome and just off to the right is your restaurant area with full bar, booth or table seating. Towards the back near the restrooms is a cozy seating area as well with couches, chairs and a few video games. So if you’d like to chill and drink but not have food this is also an option. We were seated instantly which was a plus. Just in time too because as time went on the place got busier and busier. Our server was great and we had our drink orders fast. I was pleased to see sours on tap which not may place tend to do. The menu is vast alcohol wise, but food is more limited. There are some great options here for appetizers like charcuterie boards, salads etc and of course your pizzas. I had a few of my kids with me and one is insanely picky when it comes to pizza. It can be frustrating, but with their double pepperoni option it was a win. There were about five other pizzas to choose from if I remember correctly, but the make your own option is nice. The pepperoni was good, nice kick to flavor and the crispy crust phenomenal. It was quite loud so if that bothers you may have to opt elsewhere. The location was bright. Clean and felt a little more upscale from your typical neighborhood pizza joint, but not stuffy by any means. If you’d of told me this was hiding inside a liquor store I’d of been so surprised. Great stop with some delicious pizza for sure!last but not least this spot definitely has insane liquor options. There wasn’t anything we couldn’t find here that we loved.

The pepperoni on this pizza was absolutely overwhelming. Let me qualify the statement with: pizza is supposed to balance flavor with quantity. Unfortunately, Trevor's liquor pizza balances neither. The pepperoni was extra thick and there was way too much. There was not enough dough, cheese, or sauce to verify the cost to quality ratio. I have absolutely no idea if the crust, cheese, or sauce is good; because of how much pepperoni there was. The topping essentially blankets the experience and asks you "how did you enjoy your pepperoni". I don't believe this pizza was worth the $33 I paid. Maybe I need to try other things on the menu; but I'm unsure if other selections match the experience of my choice this time. Currently, I will not be returning, not because of the cost, but because of my expectations. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement; as I also feel like I paid a premium for what I recieved. If I had no other choice, and I had no other experience with pizza, I would assume that this is the best pizza in Arcadia; which is a wholly incorrect statement.

Being from New York and being accustomed to really good food Pizza is one of those things that can be important to us. While this is not New York Pizza it’s the best pizza that I’ve found here the valley so far. It’s wood fired and they use Pecan wood which adds a bit of subtle flavor to the pizza. We also ordered an arugula salad to share and it was delicious. If you’re looking for good pizza, a good experience and all around good food the. Trevor’s is a good choice! Our server Jay was very nice and helped us to understand their process and the quality of Ingredients they use for there pizza. Nicely done 👌🏼

Excellent establishment with delicious, high quality food and beverages. We typically order the meatballs and marinara as an appetizer and then a half spicy sausage / half pepperoni pizza. The pizza has a crispy crust that offers a good balance of chewiness, with a house made mozzarella. The meatballs are equally delicious. We have visited several times now and plan to make it a regular stop.

Trevor’s is hands-down the BEST pizza in Phoenix. I have traversed across many parlor’s in my short life so far. Trevor’s is easily top 5 in the country, but definitely #1 in the Valley. The environment is so cool and collected, while boasting warm colors throughout the shop. I also enjoy how you can smell the fire, which adds to the experience. The people are amazing, the food is amazing (the white pie with caramelized onion, specifically), and it is nothing short of a special place. I give this place my HIGHEST regards.
