Tri

"Though it’s just 20 minutes drive from buzzy, boho Galle, the just-opened Tri feels like some sort of secret, remote sanctuary built in the middle of nowhere. It helps, of course, that it’s tucked away in a jungle on the shores of Koggala Lake, consisting of just 11 villas that literally disappear into the lush landscape thanks to leafy living walls. Private plunge pools and sunset-facing terraces only heighten the bliss of seclusion—though there are countless reasons to venture out. For one, there’s a luxurious spa, with a steam cavern and treetop yoga studio; then there’s the delicious, superfood-packed Sri Lankan fare served at the lakefront restaurant. But the best part about Tri? It’s eco-friendly to boot, with green roofs, solar panels, and even a rainwater system that’ll help lessen the environmental footprint of your stay."

What a wonderful stay! |Tri’s staff were absolutely wonderful during our stay and couldn’t have been more helpful. We arrived to a sunset villa which was beautiful and brand new, very clean, very private but then decided we wanted a better view of the lake so requested to move rooms. The staff were brilliant about this and facilitated the move and made sure we were all okay. |Food was excellent, views were amazing and we recommend the boat ride to Cinnamon Island to buy some spices.

We had one of the best experiences at Tri. Staff were friendly and accommodative throughout.||Food was delicious. Good portion sizes and quick service was provided by the kitchen. ||Superb location with a great view. Spacious and comfortable room. Extremely quiet and a peaceful place by the Koggala lake..||However, road to the hotel gets quite narrow for last 1-2 km.||All in all one of the best stays.. Great place to get away from all the hassle in the city…

We went back to Tri after one and half years and I was pleasantly surprised to see the enhancements and additions that have been made. Firstly they have added 4 new villas called sunset villas with gorgeous sunset views. The main lounge area has been totally refurbished and they have added a counter at the side of the railing where one can sit on a bar stool, sip a cocktail or beer and enjoys the panoramic views of Lake Koggala which are to die for. I did not want to get up from there. The boat ride in their motorized dhoni boat as they call it is a lovely experience with a visit to the temple and cinnamon island. The restaurant too has been redone and an extension added again with lovely views of the lake. Personally the best for me was the spacious deck which has strategically been located at the edge of the lake. A lovely venue for a romantic dinner, evening tea or simply to have a drink and gaze into the never ending views of the lake. The Spa too has been renovated and the food and cocktails were outstanding. As with all good things coming to an end, we sadly had to leave but we definitely will return. Coming from Colombo, this place is best enjoyed over a 2 night stay. Thank you all Tri and we will be back.

We had an exceptional stay at Tri by Amaya. We stayed in a Lake Pool Villa and the room was perfect with a lovely pool. The staff were incredible - nothing was too much to ask. It's a unique boutique style hotel which has been carefully designed to offer complete privacy. The on site restaurant offers delicious food (the Sri Lankan curry and kottu is a must), amazing breakfast either at the restaurant or brought to your room. The coffee is worth mentioning as amazing! We made use of the spa which was great, a yoga session, in a gorgeous shala, sundowners at the water tower and dinner in the restaurant and in our room. It was the perfect escape and we couldn't recommend this location with Shane and his team highly enough. Thank you for a wonderful, relaxing stay!

I’ve been to Sri Lanka a few times and this place was definitely one of my favourites. The staff made us feel so special and were so friendly and informative. The hotel had luxury all over it with an extendible experience of seeing water & Land lizards, monkeys, peacocks & other beautiful birds. Highly recommend the Boat trip. We will definitely be back we didn’t want to leave at all.

Don't hesitate to book this place for a romantic getaway- Literally from the moment we stepped out of our tuk tuk (it's a bit of a winding road to get there- but the journey is more than worth it!), the staff and manager of this hotel went above and beyond to create one of the most memorable experiences I've ever had with a hotel stay. From the focus on local ingredients and small touches (in the most delicious, refreshing welcome drink, the landscape of the hotel grounds, or the design of the hotel rooms), to the incredible boat tour to Cinnnamon Island + the active buddhist temple on the lake... I'll be dreaming about returning to this place one day! Thank you to all the staff for the most wonderful stay!
