If there's anything that you know about me, I'm like most of us who have a cultish devotion for fried chicken. Good fried chicken has a magical quality in its combination of tender, juicy chicken, and crispy, fatty coating. Triangle Spirits is a warm, welcoming bar with an inviting atmosphere. I love its concept of "booze & bird." These are my thoughts:
AMBIENCE: cute historic triangle building and 21+
FOOD
- Dark meat (3 pc) - the dish came with thigh, drumstick, a flat wing, and a choice of 1 side. The fried chicken can be served with different spice levels: traditional, hot or reaper (very spicy and adds $2). I got spicy, which I thought was very tolerable, so I'd love to try the reaper one day. The Mac and Cheese as the side was creamy and comforting, but it didn't have the Panko-Parmasan topping I craved for.
DRANKS:
- THE O.F. ($13) - classic drink with old forester 86 bourbon and bitters.
- UGLY DUCKLING ($12) - bubbly drink with Sipsmith gin, pear, and lemon juice. I'm a sucker for pear cocktails, and this drink did not disappoint
- Triangle Spirits has an impressive whiskey list. I want to come back during the winter when they have seasonal specialties like boozy egg nog, spiked hot cider, and hot buttered rum. Yup, it's that time of the year.
I look forward to trying their happy hour! This place is unquestionably delicious.
