Husband and I are local and have been waiting for the new PGA property and hotels to open so we check them out. Yesterday was our wedding anniversary and decided that we wanted to see if we could get in to Trick Rider. We didn't have a reservation but got there as soon as they opened with hopes of getting a seat. No table available, but they offer full service at the bar.
We bellied up and were greeted by Alexandra. Husband ordered a bourbon cocktail and I asked for a non alcoholic beer. They have my favorite, Athletic Brewing run wild IPA, different review but they're amazing non alcoholic beers, that taste like beer. Anywho...got our drinks and toasted our anniversary. Alexandra congratulated us an brought back champagne on the house. Well, I don't drink alcohol, and mentioned it as she dropped it off, she was so sweet and brought me a replacement sparkling mocktail. She apologized,, which was not necessary as I didn't mention I don't drink, just that I liked the non alcoholic beer.
We went over the menu where she expertly explained the cuts of steaks and her favorite appetizers. We took her recommendation and ordered the crispy artichokes, YUM! There was a lemony aïoli that you just needed a dab of. They could have used a sprinkle of salt, but still yummy.
We were warned that the salads were huge so we split the Caesar salad. There was a touch of dry heat in the dressing and Alexandra was enthusiastically set on finding out what the chef added to the dressing, a little dijon. I thought it was horseradish, my palate was off.
Then the tomahawk ribeye comes out perfectly cooked with a bulb of roasted garlic. This time I asked for some salt for the meat, hubs and I polished it off.
Last but not least the Karrot cake for 4! It's a huge piece and deliciously divine, I could go with out the gold leaf, but that's me. It was pretty! We took half home and I'll probably have it for breakfast.
Back to Alexandra, she's amazing! She's a wonderfully lovely human, we talked about our love of rescue dogs (she rescues geriatric pups and has a pack of 5 at home) and just generally had great time dinning with her, she was a majority part of our wonderful experience. We'll definitely go back and sit where Alexandra is covering at the bar. I should have given her my number, we should be friends.
I hope management recognizes the asset that they have with her!
