The Best Restaurants in Fulham and Putney | Eater London

"For the best brunch in Putney, or anywhere in the area, the New Zealand-themed Tried and True café has an impressive reputation. They’re rightly proud of their pulled pork Benedict (“award-winning,” no less), but the Portobello pesto mushrooms, complete with poached egg, are fairly stunning, too." - Alexander Larman

Stopped off here cycling back from Richmond Park. Very friendly staff and very cycle friendly allowed us all to take our bikes in there were 6 of us. Food was lovely and to a very high quality. Atmosphere was really nice. Would definitely recommend and would definitely return 👌🏽

We had a great breakfast on a rainy Sunday morning, the skillet was delicious and the signature pulled pork Benedict was very tasty as well. I am not really used to that kind of toast so it was a surprise but it was nice

Extremely nice set of staff who make you feel welcome from the moment you step in. The English breakfast was exceptional – perfectly cooked, fresh, and satisfying. Highly recommend this spot for a hearty meal and a friendly atmosphere!

great breakfast spot, many options and everything we had tasted good.. loved the filter coffee (black coffee in US).. the service was good too, they have nice outdoor seating in front and back..

First of all the serving staff are just wonderful - helpful, efficient and friendly - and to be honest I think this is what makes the cafe. The food for me - and at that price point - was acceptable but nothing to write home about. The cafe itself is very cute and I like the garden area in the summer. I would go back for sure.

Breakfast was lovely, same as service! Blend of coffee smooth and rich of flavour. My French Toast with bacon was exceptional. I adore places with fresh and delicious food. Portions generous. Very friendly place.

This is truly a hidden gem! The place is small and unassuming from the front but wow! The food is outstanding, fresh, delightful! I really can't say enough good things about every item we ordered. Even the simplest dish - fried eggs on seven seed toast - was exquisite! If I lived closer, I'd be back weekly!

A lively cafe with good coffee and food We were here on a Saturday morning (maybe closer to midday but it's Saturday so who's counting) and the place was very busy with most tables taken. Despite the busyness we were seated quickly (as were most other groups that came in while we were there) and the friendly staff took our orders without any wait. The coffee was our first and was strong and good. I ordered pancakes (as I had heard they were good) and I wasn't disappointed, they were light and fluffy and very filling. My girlfriend had one of the many scrambled eggs options and enjoyed them too. The menu had lots of options for all day brunch so there should be something for anyone. Prices were reasonable for the quality.

Yelp
Cool spot to have breakfast/brunch and they have a nice little garden for warm days. It s a good combination between traditional breakfast dishes and more unusual ones such as their tradmark pulled pork over jalapeno cheddar cornbread with 2 poached eggs. Its tasty and fillin! worth trying

Yelp
Really great food, I had the pesto mushroom breakfast AND granola and both were delicious. Great coffee from square mile. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxed atmosphere and great service

Yelp
Only popped in for a coffee and tea on recommendation - so no food review here. Great secret garden out back. Lovely staff and good ethos. The food whizzing past us to other tables sold itself. We'll be back in a shot.

Yelp
The best coffee in London. They use Redbrick coffee which is seasonal - cones from different countries depending on the time of year. So so good

Yelp
A little slice of Auckland in west Putney. Breakfast was blueberry pancakes and French toast, delightful, although I really could have done with just a touch more maple syrup (omnomnom). Service was a little disorganised, I don't think this place gets full too often. They seemed to be just about coping on a busy bank-holiday morning and were still friendly.

Yelp
Really REALLY nice place to go for a breakfast/brunch. We had pancakes and French toast, both with bacon. Tasty and good portions. Loads of choice. The atmosphere is nice too, chilled and warm. We'll be back soon, for sure. Definitely recommand!

Yelp
Amazing breakfast food, I've only ever eaten there for brunch and only eaten from the breakfast menu but it's delicious! Very nice staff, love that they are dog and bike friendly too. Try the buttermilk pancakes, so yummy!

Yelp
Excellent breakfast joint - I don't just mean at a local level but on any basis. Pancakes are best I've had anywhere. Bacon Benedict also a winner. Coffee also very good. Buzzy atmosphere at weekends (occasionally have to wait for a table - but worth it)

Yelp
First meal in london (brunch) that compares favorably to the US. Well-crafted cappuccino and salad of butternut squash, arugula, and grilled haloumi, oat porridge with preserves. General emphasis on fresh and organic ingredients. The service is polished.

Yelp
Excellent local cafe. Very friendly and welcoming, great coffee, a wide selection of teas and pastries and top notch hot food. Its a bit too upmarket a place to serve a full fried breakfast but that doesn't matter as the open bacon sandwich, the sausage sandwich, and especially the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, are delicious

Yelp
Great barista coffee and really good food. The pancakes are proper!

Yelp
Upon walking in, I thought wow this is the kind of place I love, and which Putney needs more of. It's independent, and they use organic, local food not sure if exclusively. It has a lovely vibe, and a welcoming, arty decor; and the menu is innovative and interesting. Unfortunately it was downhill from there. The tables and seats were dirty I had to ask for the table to be cleaned. The service was just horrendous I had to ask for a menu, ask for my order to be taken, and ask for bits of it which didn't come. Also, all I could smell when my order was put in front of me was a dirty dishwasher smell coming from the plate; it was the same on all the crockery and cutlery. Indeed, I could smell it from the crockery given to people two tables away. It put me off straightaway, and actually I couldn't finish my food or pricey OJ (see below). Also, I picked the worst table in the house right opposite the kitchen. Although the door was closed, I could see right in every time it was opened. Finally, it's OBSCENELY expensive £3 for orange juice (freshly squeezed apparently; I don't know whether it was); £8.50 for a jazzed up version of scrambled eggs on toast. Such a shame, because it's a great concept just very poor execution.
