What a fun place! I took my wife here as an early birthday present. We stayed in the Malibu Barbara room - it is at the far end of the motel, and on the corner. When you walk inside the room, you are greeted with vibrant colors and high ceilings. The color scheme of the room was amazing, and I loved the color choices. It felt very Malibu, for sure.
The service we received here was top-tier. We were greeted with friendly faces, and warm smiles, and felt very welcome.
Upon our arrival, we were treated to complimentary drinks! The gals here made sure to let us know about the drinks, the gift shop, and the records that you can take back for your room!
Unfortunately, during our stay, their lounge, the BARBARA, was under renovation, so we weren't able to check it out. They made all the drinks in the gift shop/office.
The room itself felt very spacious. They told us that this room was bigger than all the other rooms, so we felt very lucky to have chosen this one!
We had a tough time sleeping. Just a note for future folks, there is a black-out shade behind the curtains to block out the light that shines in the hallway outside the main window! Also, make sure to push the curtain a little to the left to block out the lights that might creep in on the sides. I am very sensitive to light, so I couldn't quite sleep. Not their fault at all - hence, no stars taken away. The bed was also too soft for us, but we made it work.
Also. THE TOWELS. Friends, I swear it's the little things, but after a shower, the towels were so SOFT and it smelled lovely. You know when you're at a big chain hotel, and the towels are stiff and reek of bleach? These towels felt like they were made by the softest cotton ever and smelled like fresh daisies. I don't know what detergent or softener they use, but I literally exclaimed when I wrapped it around me. Like, the towels get 5 stars alone. (We stayed at Margaritaville the night before and those towels were TRASH)
Overall, we enjoy our stay! We are already talking about when our next trip will be. Thank you so much for the hospitality!
