Trogo Kitchen and Market

One of my favorite places to eat! I've ordered from here about weekly since they've opened. Everything I've tried has been flavorful, bright, & fresh, as well as beautiful. (I'm not someone who normally takes photos of meals but here we are!) The owners and chefs are also welcoming and delightful. I know finding the place up the stairs in the Green Exchange building can be a bit odd, but don't let that stop you from trying out their sandwiches and salads! The cafe area is comfy and cozy if you just wanna get a coffee and work too. Enjoy!!!

This place is incredible. I work in the building and its become my go-to lunch spot in the past couple months. The electricity in our building went out today, and not only did they still prepare my pre-ordered food, they did so in the dark. The salads are a great price for what you get, baked goods are amazing, and café drinks are spectacular. These folks are so great; can't recommend enough!

I work in the building, and have eaten there (or gotten take out) several times. I wish more people knew about this place. The food is great (honestly one of the best scones I've ever had) and the owner is delightful. A little hidden gem that's worth a stop (also good for catering).

What a gem. Trogo is on the 2nd floor of the Green Exchange Building. Quaint coffee/breakfast/lunch place. Superb and thoughtful sandwiches, salads, and soups. Great place for people with dietary restrictions (plenty of vegan and gluten free options) I had the frittata panini with mushrooms. Easily the best egg sandwich I’ve had in ages. The owners are a husband and wife team. Super friendly and they take pride in their business. Would highly recommend. And sea salt chocolate chip cookie is phenomenal and also happens to be vegan.

Trogo is a great spot for food and coffee. The owners are super friendly and use the best ingredients. They have a nice area to sit and eat, drink, or work from as well. Can’t recommend enough!!

Recently had catering from this company and it was phenomenal. Greek salads were fresh and flavorful, the focaccia pizza was perfectly cooked and the meal was topped off with some excellent desserts. Great job!

What a cute little shop! We came here when we were attending a wedding next door for a quick coffee. The staff was so friendly and nice! I got a vanilla latte and it was the perfect pick me up for the long night of partying ahead! It was so convenient that there was a coffee shop there right next to the venue! Love it.

I truly enjoyed my experience here and if you want to meet a Gordon Ramsey Doppelgänger with a killer accent then I'd recommend you give it a try! This place was tricky to find, but you go through a set of double doors on Diversey and up the escalator to find this gem. I had asked a kind stander-by outside how to find it and 10 minutes later they were the ones in the kitchen prepping the food! Service was awesome and you just feel taken care of. I ordered in but they also have grab and gos, and quick pastries if you don't have a lot of time. Staff was very patient in helping to pick out items and little did I know that it was the cafe's founder taking my order! I chose the Veg Out which comes with the Marouli side salad, and added a couple pastries, and an olive leaf latte. Most of their items can be made vegetarian and vegan! The sandwich was so good, like one of the best vegetarian sandwiches I've had with fresh ingredients and a cashew garlic spread that I need the recipe for. The olive leaf latte was delicious and tasted similar to a chai. Just an awesome experience. Give it a go!

Stopped here because I needed a place to work for a couple hours while my child did a camp nearby at Windy City Fieldhouse. Can't recommend it highly enough! Got the Veg Out sandwich with a side salad. All the veggies were perfectly prepared, and the ciabatta bun was heavenly; thin, crisp crust and springy bread underneath. Service was extremely friendly and thoughtful, going out of their way to point out potential food allergies. And the space was very inspiring to work in; very roomy and suited to hacking away at my laptop. Plus, I dug the music selection so I didn't even have to tune into my own device. The only drawback is that I'm not in this part of town that much, but I might have to make a point to be more often just to spend time at Trogo!

Great food and ambiance. My wife and I split the Nod to Nola sandwich and Marouli salad (and huge chocolate chip cookie!). Both dishes were excellent - the sandwich was oven baked (instead of pressed), recommend by their staff and was delicious - reminded me of muffalata that you get in New Orleans. The salad was also delicious that had a great crunch with the fresh greens, small cut up radish, with a nice light vinegrette. The atmosphere of the space was very nice as well - could spread out and enjoy our meal - definitely would be a great event space. The building is a bit non-descript on the outside, but the restaurant space itself was very inviting. Can't wait to go back!

Fresh food, friendly service and everything is so flavorful. Most of the produce comes from the small urban farm outside the cafe. Try the spanakopita, peinerli (pizza boats), dakos salad and chocolate chip cookies. Lots of vegan options.
