Tropi Frutas

Today, August 1, 2025, made a purchase at 9:10 P.M. received a large fruit salad that I purchased. I want to say more than half of the fruit was rotten rotten enough that the fruit turn colors and showed green and brown in the parts. They were spoiled. I also ordered a strawberries and cream cup which 95% of the strawberries were also bad At this point, I’m gonna have to also make a report to the health DEPARTMENT. Not only where these employees negligent serving me, and my Family spoiled food, but they could have gotten all of us sick i will be calling management tomorrow and the health department on Monday.

I work at the laundromat close to tropi frutas so its one of my go to’s for lunch. I ordered the carne asada torta and the caramel frappe. The caramel frappe is soooooo good kinda tastes like Starbucks and the torta BOMB a good amount of everything. Orders can take a while to come out you might as well call ahead of time but its worth it.

Went for my first time because i love tortas but these were sloppy. The lomo especial isnt even lomo, it was literally pulled pork with a slice of roast beef on top. It didn't taste good at all. And the chicken chipotle is sloppy too, makes bread soggy. They should have toasted the bread. I wont be going back. Ill stick to Fruteria El Manila

* I ordered a Turkey torta and got a lettuce torta, REALLY! Called and asked for the manager and they would not give me his name and to call back. *8/3/19 Please make sure to check they charge you right, this has been my third time and I always get charged way to much, I did not catch it last 2 times until I got home, but this time from $11 it was, she wanted to charge me $24 😳 really. And I said, are you sure, for the special, she smiled and said, ups sorry and gave me the correct amount. The 3 times I've been here, this happened. Other than that, the food is good, just price unless you get a combo and not get charged extra 🤦‍♀️ *7/19Very good food and service (but always check your bill and the original price) And no receipt OMG🤔🙇‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Ordered 2 large fresas con crema & platano from them and received wrong cup size and instead of real banana they put banana chips. Called and was told to go and they would fix it but it had to be today. Ordered doordash for a reason… Extremely unpleasant and unprofessional. With that kind of laziness, I Will be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

i have eaten here several times and lately there food and service have been terrible, incorrect orders and a torta that had not meat in it. I'm not sure what happened but its a bummer. Like so many places now cutting corners to save money and making inferior food.

I wish I could give less than a one star but yeah. The owner man is the rudest person ever, he does what he wants and fights with people all the time. I ordered one cup of esquite, they took forever to make it, and it was the most diabolical disgusting repulsive thing I ever tasted. I know it wasn't just me I let my entire family try it, and they could not eat more than half a spoon. It looked and smelled like diarrhea blended in a cup.

Not friendly at all. They don’t make you feel welcome, that’s fine I will take my business somewhere else. Food not so good.

both times I've been here, the food was great and so was the juice. The chicken torta and the carne asada torta were both excellent. the detox juice is really good. this place is a good option for food that is fresh, healthy, and reasonably priced

Ordered a Lomo especial which tasted juicy but expected to have avocado . Oops. Ordered mango water but San ysidro location got way better aqua de mango.

Ordered the Vegetarian sandwich and I was not disappointed at all, it was very flavorful, it was delicious, you can tell the staff makes our food with love and dedication Both the lady Elizabeth and gentleman that are there in the morning are very friendly and attentive. It's always a pleasure to walk in there because you are always treated kindly

I like strawberry and cream. But Service is not what you expect from the owner . This guy needs to know that there are rights for his employees. This "owner " yielded to his employees and to Customer who said " You don't need to yield her (employee). I was waiting for my strawberries and cream But when I witnessed all this. I just left.

I went there the other day before reading the reviews and I was extremely disappointed with the way they treated me and other customers. I bought some some TostiElote and it was very watery and since I order the stuff to go the guy organized my food by putting the hot food on top of some ice cream by the time I got home the ice cream was melted. If I could give this place an honest rating it would be -5. I DON'T RECOMMEND GOING TO THIS PLACE EVEN TO GET A NAPKIN!!!!

Pesimo, el tipo que es o se cree el dueñoa, habla gritando a los clientes. Entregan los vasos todos embarrados por fuera, y su roastbeef horrible, hechado a perder. No lo recomiendo.

i used to go to the NC location but moved, in this san ysidro location they cut the fruta big and are slow! Quería tostilocos & como le ponen pocos cueritos ordene la orden grande "super tostilocos" muchos churros & pocos cueritos. El pepino & jícama podrido y para eso pague $18.55 por uber. Llame ese dia & they acknowledged que estan podridos y me dicen q vaya. Como si me van a pagar la gasolina & les dije que acabo de pagar delivery. Una semana y el dueño no arregla el inconveniente ay personas que trabájamos y no podemos ir

This place has a good selection of tortas and sandwhich. My favorite Torta de lomo especial! Also their juices and escamochas are quite good as well.

Always good and fresh. Never been disappointed. Recommend the salmon on multigrain. Quick and kitchen is always righty and clean.

I was walking distance from this location and decided to go get a Pico de Gallo. Price was okay... but after getting to the bottom of the bowl, the watermelon and mango were old.

I came in here to buy some sandwiches and the service was not good. The female cashier was unfriendly and very grumpy it seemed like she didn't even want to take our order. I also thought it was unprofessional the way the owner acted. They made all the customers get up and get their own orders however when the owners wife and kid walked into the place the employees didn't make them get up and get their own orders the owner took the order to their table. Showing favortism is just unprofessional. Also another thing I would like to share is that I got very bad Indegestion from eating here. I immediately started having an upset stomach after leaving TropiFrutas.

Awful customer service plus a long waiting time. They should work on their customer service! You can tell even the employees are not happy!

I haven't even gone to this place but there's so many bad reviews not just here but everywhere like Facebook and google and don't understand why are they still in business most of the comments are the same old fruit not enough of this or that bad bread and of course terrible customer service and the owner leading the pack with terrible attitude towards customers and employees so no thanks I'll go somewhere else they are definitely not the only ones in San Ysidro

Hola buenas noches Solo para comentarles que compre unos "chamangos" Tropi Frutas en San Ysido. Por Uber eats que solo me echaron jugo porque no tenían mango y estuvieron ocupados todo el día . Yo solo marcaba para preguntar si se les avía olvidado . La muchacha muy buena onda. Pero el dueño le empezó a gritar a ella como si fuera su culpa no quiso. Tomar mi llamada . Y la verdad si me moleste por el echo que empezó a decir de cosas que es mi culpa por pedi en línea que en la tienda tienen que no tienen mango que me pueden echar piña o sandía si voy al local y solo escuchaba a el diciendo ideas de cómo justificarse y ignorar la situación . El dueño dijo que no va a contestar mi llamada y se me hizo una falta de respeto que yo como consumidor no quiso tomar mi llamada me mando a la fregada y se desquito con la muchacha y yo le dije me lo puede pasar que escuche todo lo que él decía de mi para justificarse y se me hizo súper mala onda de su parte tan caro y ni siquiera es el producto que uno pide y te vendan. Pudieron poner solamente no hay chamangos y ya no querer echar sandía adentro señor ridiculo uno marcando en buena onda y el con todo quejándose Tropi Frutas in San Ysidro

I've been coming here for the chef salad for the past 4 years. They're always consistent in making me a fantastic plate! All the ingredients are fresh, crisp and well prepared. The staff is both polite and helpful. As a bonus, it smells wonderful inside, similar to Jamba Juice. Great place! Their waters are just what I need on a hot day.

This place is far too expensive for the quality of the food. I payed $10 for a large fruit salad, had it delivered by Postmates, the listing claims the fruit is cut "fresh". There was absolutely nothing fresh about the fruit salad I received. The bananas were over ripened, the strawberries were old and mushy. None of the fruit looked fresh at all. I will not be ordering from this place again. The low reviews are true to the quality of the food.

the owner is horrible with the employees and the service is horrible as well, the tuna they use is mostly expired and tastes funny. Food bad, service bad, overall a bad place to go.

The lomo torta was extremely salty, pretty much inedible. The old man that took my order was rude and rushing me when I was placing my order. The watermelon water tastes like it was packaged Koolaid. The only good think we had was the fresas con crema. Do better!

I was there two weeks ago September 28th. I held off on my review of this unfortunate event, until I got a call from the owner. But apparently it's not very important to him. On Saturday evening I dined in with 2 more people. As Im eating my sandwich I noticed something crawled in my leg. I picked it up with a napkin and try to kill it and it wouldn't die. Finally it looked dead but I could not recognize the bug. So I gave it to the cashier who said she'd call the owner. He came out and informed me it was a tick. He said those are only on animals and don't bite people. And asked me where it was. I told him it seemed to just be on me. Not sure where it came from. He grabbed his knife poked the chair and sure enough his rattan chairs have the ticks. He checked another chair and out came out one more. "He said CBP officers that ride horses probably brought them". He also mentioned he was a horse owner himself. He said sorry and we ran out and literally threw whatever was left of our food out. Couldn't continue to eat. The worst part was I found another tick on my self as I got home and my mother picked it up and killed it. I'm unsure if it had bitten me or not. But I immediately called Tropifrutas again. And I have yet to receive a call back. Wether these ticks got there by the officers or the fact that he has chairs that create a perfect environment for them to breed more. I'm not sure. But that's not my problem. And btw Owner, ticks do bite humans and Lyme disease is very dangerous. So I hope you finally get to my message and do something about it. Clean up your restaurant‼‼‼‼ I am attaching a pic of the tick that was on me when I was home. I unfortunately did not take a pic of the ticks in the restaurant that were found in the chairs.

This place is not good. From customer service to the time it takes to get your food. I ordered a scoop of ice cream and the lady proceeded to use her bare hands to scoop the ice cream.

My first time here. Really good Acai smoothie. Good price and size. I came at night only a couple people online. Didn't wait long. I'll be coming back again soon

They messed up our order. Out of 12 tortas, only 2 were right. I mean how can you forget to put avocado on the tortas that's a main ingredient and mayonnaise. We noticed till we got home and we didn't feel like driving back specially since they took 30 minutes longer than the time they gave us even though we called 2 hours before pick up.

Very rude, wouldn't recommend it to anybody. Food quality was very poor. But the worst thing here is the service. Very unprofessional

If I could only give zero stars . Avoid business at all cost. The sandwiches they over cook the bread, add tons of mayo, and add a bunch of nonsense. The fruit is not fresh, only convinced was it was close to my house.

food is still amazing !!! the fresas con crema here are unreal! WoAh. Good and comfortable environment to be in while you eat. Good for groups.

I really liked coming to this place a lot. But the service they have lately has been horrible, they help you with a very terrible attitude and with the service like this, it makes you not even want to go again. Leaving that aside, at least it would make you think they would give you the food well done! But i guess if they are not having a good day they will give you a poor quality on your food as well. Food is the least thing you should even mess around with. Hope they get new employees on board sometime soon.

I've been coming here for years and personally, it's my favorite fruteria in the south San Diego area. I've never had any complaints and the food is always delicious! I almost always order the lox salmon sandwich combo and I can say that the escamocha, sandwich and agua fresca is always fresh and tasty. The customer service is also amazing, I usually come in mornings before school and order a green juice and the staff is always bright and friendly

The Food is decent, service and wait time is horrible. My first and last visit there! I work in the area and have been trying new restaurants around here. It took more than 20 minutes to get a salad...two thumbs down!

Piece of plastic in my food ‍ I loved coming to this place but after today. I almost choked. They also load the sandwich with lettuce and 1 slice of ham. The bread feels old. Over all very disappointed.

This açaí bowl was pretty delicious. You only get to choose 4 toppings and a total of about $7.00 for the bowl. I've tried several things here that can be made vegan. Lots of different shakes and treats. Fresh fruits!

I usually have no complains about this location until today. I called to order a large escamocha and they told me it would take 15 mins for them to do it . Once I got there I still had to wait and my order was melted. Either the freezer is not working or they left the ice cream out way to long . Seriously disappointed...

I've gone multiple times for fruit salads and they were horrible. Not only horrible because fruit wasn't even ripe or sweet, but over priced too. Customer service is horrible and the owner is so darn rude. He could care less about the customer and their concerns, disrespectful and horrible to his employees . This man should NOT be in business. Save yourself the trip and expense, go elsewhere.

The Veggie torta with chipotle sauce on the side is amazing as well as the escamocha for dessert is undefeated. 12/10 I take all my friends here

No wonder this place has 2 1/2 stars, I just came asking for a fruit salad with lime and Tajin on the side, to my surprise they refused to give me a piece of lime and tajin on the side, stating it was not allowed to be given on the side because those were "the orders" either they put it on my fruit or I can't have it on the side, I asked to speak to the guy giving "the orders" and he just dismissed me, didnt even want to talk to me, so I came to their neighboring fruteria "El Manila" who happily and easily accomodated my simple request. That is how you treat a custome, could have been so easy.

If I could I would give it 0 starts. I ordered a roasted beef sandwich which took 20 min to make came full of lettuce. Literally there was only one slice of roasted beef. 90% of the sandwich was damn grass. I am never ordering from Here. Horrible place.

I ordered 3 Sandwichesand they were horribleeee, the lettuce was rotten with dark spots, the tomato was like 1/2 in thick, dirty napkins, and the service was BAD, and the "guy" (i believe he is the owner) he is sooooooo rudeeeee, there is better places than this trashy place, i just quit going!!

So I was at home and my wife and I was craving a raspado, we tried this place since our place where we go was close and let me tell you it was disgusting... To start they have no flavor whats so ever.. they just taste like sugar with Ice... I asked for 2 ciruela raspados one pineaple and a strawberry, well let me tell you this.. the ciruela raspado tasted exctly the same as the strawberry one with the exceptions they add ciruelas to it, the pineaple raspado tasted like if they got the rotten pineaples they have left over and just crush them and make them a juice it tasted old and bad.. I hope my kid doesnt get stomach sick from it... please dont visit this place to get raspados I dont know about anything else becuase I visit them for the first and last time today...

The whole restaurant smells like piss literally, used to come here not anymore, customer service is not pathetic

Ordered Nachos and Agua de Pepino. The nacho cheese has pieces of jalapeño which makes it super hot! They even ask you if you want jalapeños. I said NO. But I came on here to check if maybe they have another type of cheese without it but nope found another review saying it's really hot to eat! And it is! Omg even my gums are on fire! They're really good but the jalapeños inside the cheese is too much!

This place is so good it's clean Escamochas are the best Tostilocos and Churritos too oh and of course their Green olives prepared are delicious! The cashiers are not always to friendly and they don't smile and to me that's very important but the food there is very good. Girls need a little more customer skills that's all.

I'm not a picky either nor do I usually complain but I only get 3 slices of avocado again which I don't mind but then they used the most brown ones. Lol cmon
