Truss & Twine Review - Palm Springs - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"As much fun as it is to look at all the furniture stores you can’t afford, the north end of Palm Canyon can get a little sleepy when the sun goes down. But Truss and Twine is here to change that. The all-concrete bar certainly has the industrial look on lock, and if you’re looking for some snacks and a well-made cocktail before a night on the town, this is your spot. There’s a daily Happy Hour from 4 - 6pm, and they have these prosciutto-wrapped pretzel things that are downright addictive." - Brant Cox

This bar has a unique, artsy vibe with cool murals and eclectic decor. The bartenders are knowledgeable and passionate about mixology. I appreciated their use of fresh ingredients and house-made syrups. The cocktails are a bit pricey but worth every penny. A perfect spot for cocktail enthusiasts.

Google
Truss and Twine is one of the most consistently authentic craft cocktail bars in Palm Springs. The staff is knowledgeable and they treat you like family. I can always rely on Truss to serve me a late night cocktail with professionalism and flair.

Google
Totally unexpected experience. The vibe and cocktail specials are more Tiki. I had no idea this was a Tiki Bar. Expert bartenders concocting Amazing drinks! We especially loved the Hua Moa Lio. (Pinhook Bourbon, Banana Liquor, Calpico and All Spice Dram) served in a smoking coconut shell with fresh mint and banana chip garnish. Yum Yum!! The bartenders and staff were super friendly. However that is just the start... The reason we came here is because our friends told us about the pop-up food menu that they have on Wednesdays and Thursdays. OMG! The food was indescribable, beautifully presented, delicious and totally unique. You have to check this out! We were a group of 4 and we ordered one of everything on the menu sans dessert. The two artisans crafting the dishes behind the bar took their time lovingly putting together each order so that it was perfect. If you are a foodie...you must check this place out. The interior is a bit incongruous with the bar theme but that's not why we are there. Come here for a unique food and cocktail experience!

Google
Always a great spot for a cocktail. Tell Brian what you like, and don't like, for alcohol and flavos and he will make you a concoction you will love. My favorite cocktail spot in PS.

Google
I love their crafted cocktails - tell them what you like and they'll make you a spectacular surprise. Always friendly service. Drinks take a little longer since they are handcrafted. We had a lovely charcuterie board and added honeycomb that was amazing!

Google
Great Christmas themed bar. Creative cocktails and delicious food offerings. Service can be a little slow but they are friendly and accommodating. Atmosphere is festive.

We were waiting for a table at workshop kitchen and bar but had a great time at truss & twine so decided to stay! Bryan was exceptional as a bartender, very knowledgeable and provided great service. His drinks were delicious and well balanced. We didn’t try any food except a chocolate mousse which was good. Definitely worth checking this spot out!

Google
Small plates were surprisingly good. Pea soup was nice. Rabbit sausage was awesome. Desert sampler was delicious. Overall, beat expectations. Update: Arguably one of the most interesting & delicious places to snack in Palm Springs. Small plates are delicious and you can tell a lot of thought has gone into each dish. Your taste buds will thank you.

Yelp
What an amazing spot and event. Christmas time. Haha. Drinks are delicious. Service was great and very kind and made sure all was good. Now the ambiance. Christmas's time in here for the time being. What more can you ask for, if you like this season. Merry Christmas. Be Joyful

Yelp
Only had one bartender working on a Friday night but he was whipping through the drinks. It was fairly good. Drink was on the acidic side. The balance was a little off. Maybe if they had more staff the attention to detail would not get lost.

Yelp
Made me wait for my food over an hour and didn't even bring it All they said was sorry Waste of time

Yelp
This is one of my favorite bars to frequent. The location + the vibe + the drinks. Everyone loves this place! The bartenders are all sharp, especially Bryan & Elliott

Yelp
The place was small but it was a nice chill bar. The service was great and our server was great at recommending drinks and letting us know which one was her favorite. I did not try their food but did ordered their cookies which were a perfect little snack. Tried a couple of their drinks which were all pretty good. They even have holiday shots which were also good but strong.
google avatar

Susan M.

Yelp
This bar went all out for Christmas decorations and has several libations that are holiday focused- many of which come in very fun, fancy ceramics. The manager went out of his way to find me a cocktail that I would enjoy. I read about them in the Orange County Register because they are part of the Miracle Bars this year. I'm glad we gave them a try.

Yelp
Interesting spot. Very minimalist feel. Went in on a Thursday night, and it wasn't too busy. We sat at the bar. They have a nice menu that includes some classics, plus some of their own creations. The bartenders seem really knowledgeable though, so if you don't see something on the menu you want, definitely check for recommendations. I went with the Death at the Beach. The coconut cream wasn't heavy, but just gave it a soft mouthfeel. They had a special pop up kitchen that night. The food looked good, but we had already eaten. If you are looking for a nice cocktail at an unpretentious place, give it a try. We will stop back by next time we are in Palm Springs.

Yelp
Was going to go to The front porch but they were booked so we ended up here and it did not disappoint. Was not sure what to expect at first but once the bartender asked us about what we liked and delivered the first round we knew we were in the right spot. Every drink was well made, balanced and a good riff on something we knew. As a huge James Bond fan I always like the idea of a Vesper but find the drink unbearable until now, just do not use lillet. Really great spot in Palm Springs will definitely come back!

Yelp
When in Palm Springs , this is a hot spot. I love every drink... the appetizers are delicious. The wagyu oxtail grill cheese, WOW! Staff is awesome, great service and quick service
google avatar

Lolita F.

Yelp
Excellent Service by a bartender named Bryan. Friendly, went out of his way to talk to us and tell us all about the Christmas theme and serve us fabulous cocktails!
google avatar

Mona S.

Yelp
Dark industrial decor, has a nice romantic or private ambiance even when sitting near others. Tried the old fashioned and cosmopolitan and both were delicious. Would definitely come back!
google avatar

Bill F.

Yelp
Nice east coast vibe- the well martini's that we had were good, nicely chilled, but super small and pricey. Be aware that they add a 4% Surcharge to the bill that is not explained. $32 dollars for two drinks. Very limited food options on bar menu that are not very appealing. Headed next time for better options in Palm Springs.

Yelp
I am still can't believe that I live here for so many years and never gave this place a try. I love this place it's beautiful lively drinks are great but the bartenders AMAZING. I love the service uggggg I just can't believe I let seven years pass and didn't stop once. Pretty much I wasted my youth lol

Yelp
Here on a Thursday night with good friends and co-workers. The quesadilla is the best thing I had from their menu.
google avatar

Yelp
Went for the Miracle Christmas pop-up. I've been to Miracles every year since they started and Truss & Twine really dialed theirs in. They had some string Christmas lights hanging from the bar and a few decorations on the wall. Most Miracles are over-the-top with kitschy Christmas stuff from floor to ceiling. Usually they are really fun. But not here. Plus the host and bartenders seemed way over it. And our bartender filled our Nog less than halfway full. It looked ridiculous and was no fun. Three sips and we were done. So done with Truss & Twine!
google avatar

Angela F.

Yelp
We came here on the recommendation of our waiter at a restaurant down the street. When we came in, it was pretty crowded and seemed popular! Soon, though, the tables left and the vibe changed--it was pretty quiet. We ordered some drinks and dessert. The panna cotta was sooooo good, and the mousse was nice and thick and decadent. If the vibe was a little louder for us, I think we would have stayed a little longer

Yelp
We had our wedding after party at Truss & Twine (and are SO GLAD we did). We had been looking at another venue in Palm Springs. We had essentially decided to do it at this other venue in January. As the months passed, the communication from that venue was extremely spotty (weeks would go by between emails). As we entered early March I was starting to really worry that we'd be venueless. Enter Hayley & Truss & Twine - Hayley, from the first moment, was extremely responsive. Her information was super clear and she made the planning process absolutely seamless (which, for anyone who is planning a wedding, is an absolute dream). Beyond that, the food was great! The drinks were great! Our guests had a blast. It was everything you would have wanted.

Yelp
I really like this place. I've only been when it is not crowded and very chill, so I'd love to come back when it's crowded later in the evening. The bartender is really nice. I like that they have a pop-up menu where they promote other business. Hoja Blanca was the pop-up the night I came in. I had the aguachiles bowl. It was VERY tasty and delicious. It was very spicy, so you must have a love for spicy foods. The presentation of the bowl : food was beautiful. I like this place and will come back soon.

Yelp
Bryan and Brandon made our visit here so amazing and fun. We tried the green light cocktail (kind of a twist on a Manhattan) and their White Russian. Both were excellent and carefully crafted. It's an upscale cocktail bar, so it's great for people who appreciate the art and science of mixology. They are great at making you something off menu based on what you're in the mood to drink. It's not a place for well drinks or a random beer - it's definitely not a dive bar. Very classy place for people who appreciate fine cocktails. They have food as well, but we didn't try anything.

Karen Z.

Yelp
We came on a Thursday and it was not busy. I was not impressed by their cocktail menu, which I love me some good variety of cocktails. I went with a safe choice and had Cosmopolitan and I asked them to make it a bit sweet. It was good! Service was great.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious drinks with fun festive cups. We were fortunate to go when they had a ghost kitchen partnership and had the Birria ramen. Highly recommend - it was savory, tangy and slightly spicy. They really went all out on the decor, with a projected fireplace in the back. Also very attentive with checking in to make sure we were doing alright. Only thing is, it was almost overwhelming being asked if we wanted another drink so frequently. But the festive cups were not see through so it was difficult to know when we needed more.
google avatar

Alicia S.

Yelp
We sat down and the server took our order fairly quickly. Then we waited, and waited, and waited for over 20 minutes and we still were not served our drinks. It was not busy on a Friday night March 3rd. Meanwhile the table to the left and right of us who sat down after us were served very quickly. We got up and had the courtesy to tell the server we had to leave because waiting over 20 mins to get served was it cool. The server stated that he made our drinks and that he didn't get around to serving them yet. Seriously.... Something is awry ... Truss & Twine, I used to give you rave reviews. I don't even want to recommend you at this point. Come guys... do better.

Yelp
This ended up being such a hit! We initially were supposed to go to the tiki bar a few blocks away but every single table was filled and they cannot accommodate our large party. We walked here just to check it out before making other decisions, but it was such a good experience that we stayed the whole night. We asked if we could just stand at the bar and they told us that they don't have any open tables right now but we were welcome to try. The Bartenders were kind and did an amazing job handling drinks for a group of 17 people. Even without a reservation, we all ended up either sitting at the bar or on tables that other people left. Even though coming to this bar was just an afterthought, I am definitely going to add it on my Palm Springs list. They made the absolute best white Russian I have ever had, and might start to be my go to instead of an espresso martini. I also really loved the outdoor indoor vibes. Even though there was intermittently a lot of people in what looked like a small bar, it never fall stuffy or overcrowded. Street parking nearby wasn't to you about either.

Yelp
Went here last night for the first time. Just to start the night off with a drink. Wasn't sure what to expect but it was very nice inside. No TVs which is probably good because of the chill vibe it wants to let off. I would say this would be a good place to start the night off if you are on a date or just want to have a drink after work and relax. Not sure how packed it get but there were some people there but it was still early in the night. They do have some food items, but it's minimal. I didn't try any because was going somewhere else to eat. But the atmosphere is nice and the staff were attentive and friendly. Gave it 4 stars because since I wasn't there that long and didn't try their food. But the atmosphere 5 stars and the service.

Yelp
Literally every bartender/server catered to our needs and wants above and beyond. So rad.
google avatar

Blanca G.

Yelp
Stopped by for a drink. The bartenders were very friendly and checked up to make sure I was good. It's the best espresso martini I've had in the desert. Ordered it with tequila. Definitely would recommend this place for a date night or night out with friends
google avatar

Diana C.

Yelp
Great location to go out with friends on night out of town. The staff were also extremely friendly. We had a friend that was wearing a birthday crown and every single one of the staff wished her a happy birthday as they passed by. I ordered the Game Changer which is a drink with gin, lime, cucumber, sugar, onion brine, sea salt, celery bitters. Yes, onion brine! It sounds weird but don't knock it until you've tried it. It was really yummy! I'd come here again if I am ever in town again. You can't beat the service and yummy drinks.

Yelp
Wow what every bar experience should be like!! We arrived after dinner and found a spot at the bar right away and the lovely bartender approached us with a smile. Very kind and professional and clearly knows his stuff as he gave us recommendations and was able to make drinks that are pretty uncommon incredibly well! Balanced, beautiful and effective cocktails for a Saturday date night ! Would highly recommend Only critique is the super uncomfortable seats that made me too uncomfortable to stay beyond 2 drinks
google avatar

Alexandra S.

Yelp
Bryan and Courtney we're absolutely phenomenal and we quickly felt as though we were regulars! We had been to several places that evening for drinks and Truss & Twine was by far the best experience and most delicious craft cocktails. Bryan was knowledgeable and truly showed his appreciation for a well made drink. Their spin on a White Russian was like no other I've had before. We will be back whenever we visit! -Your San Diego friends

Brittni P.

Yelp
Love the industrial feel! Also high quality cocktails and a very mature vibe to feel like you're going "out" without going "out."
google avatar

R M.

Yelp
Just okay. Would not come back. They had a menu for food items but were out of every item except one. All 7 of us didn't like our drinks and we all got different drinks so do with that info what you will. We had one drink and left. One of the female bartenders was rude and snappy to us, so we moved to a table that the manager put together for us who was nice.
google avatar

Omar H.

Yelp
The vibes in this place are always the best! Super chill and none of that ego checking like other bars closer to downtown! My gf and I love this bar and we recommend the Mexican Firing Squad drink! Bartenders are always down to test their knowledge with whatever you feel like drinking so give it a try next time you're in!
google avatar

Frank Lloyd W.

Yelp
A very big disappointment. Way over rated. Poor cocktails that taste premade. Zero high end whiskeys, for those who want other than a mixed drink. Indifferent bartender seemed like we were bothering him.
google avatar

Jeremy H.

Yelp
Small little gem, googled nearest bar open and what a surprise. It was a Monday night so I assumed probably dead and I'll grab 1 cocktail and bounce, we ended up staying until it closed. Nice plain decor nothing major, great music playing not too loud so we're not yelling while talking. The service was cool wish it was a bit faster but that's my greedy side ha ha. Cosmopolitan drink was really good must try.
google avatar

Audrey H.

Yelp
Really well made cocktails and friendly service. All the tiki drinks were delicious, and I love a good absinth cocktail which they have a great selection of. Shoutout to manager, Brandon, for not only great service and great cocktails, but for being a great human. My girlfriend and I went here twice during our vacation, both times we had positive experiences with the staff and incredible appetizers and drinks. During our second visit, some washed up already-drunk bros in their 40s tried to pull some crap, Brandon advocated for giving us space several times. At one point my girlfriend went to the restroom and not seconds later one of the bros was grabbing my shoulder asking if I was single and as soon as I bluntly responded, "I'm a lesbian, back off," he got in my space again, making homophobic and transphobic remarks, calling me "c*nt, b*tch," etc etc. Brandon kicked them out immediately. We love him and will make a point of visiting every time we are in Palm Springs. We love to see it!

Yelp
So we stopped by on a Wed night for a "few" drinks and had a great time. It wasn't busy at all until later around 9ish. Our bartender Brian was great! He and I discussed whiskey almost the entire night. He knows his stuff. He even gave me little sips of whiskey he enjoys. Also the birria tacos were fantastic! Probably the best I've ever eaten. When we come back to PS we will be back again.

William E.

Yelp
Ok but way too expensive and tiny glasses. .... bartenders weren't the friendliest...place was empty and the dark atmosphere is rather dated.
google avatar

Valerie V.

Yelp
Really cute bar we stumbled upon. It was pretty busy on a friday night. Our bartender was attentive. They have a great selection of whiskeys and original cocktails.
google avatar

Subha R.

Yelp
Lively place for cocktails after dinner. Went with a group of seven! Made a reservation online and came and we were seated quickly. The host listened to each of our likes and dislikes and made some recommendations so it felt very personalized, but drawbacks were that it was a little too loud to have conversations and they served us the bill as if to kick us out when we would have probably grabbed another drink! I really think overall was a very solid place to go with our bachelorette crew!

Deborah S.

Yelp
Had high hopes for this one. The room is awkward. The big, stylish bar dominates the space. The table seating is disconnected from the bar, which splits up the seating into two separate parts. Almost as if they had space left over and added tables. The drinks ought to have been interesting but they weren't. The wines should have been interesting but they weren't. Food? Same thing. Limited. The offerings were either common and boring or overly concocted and off-putting. Darn it! They need to start over. Put the bar at the back of the room sideways. Tables in front. Rethink the menu. Too bad, too because the staff is terrific, every one of them the night I was there.
google avatar

Barbara K.

Yelp
We ended up here at the recommendation of someone at Workshop Kitchen (sister restaurant), when we called at 9 to say we were delayed and would be late for our reservation. They won't seat anyone after 9! We loved it! Great service, and a recommendation for a gin I hadn't had (wish I could remember the name). One of the best martinis I've had! Also my husband loved his Laguna Baja Black Lager. We shared a wagyu oxtail grilled cheese on brioche - fabulous! Also a fennel salad that was OK, but large slices hard to eat. A highlight was the beet and green goddess deviled eggs! Too hungry to take photos. We will be back!
google avatar

Matthew P.

Yelp
This place has gone down hill. A good concept to start, but way too much attitude. Drinks are too expensive and staff is rude. I'd visit in 2019, but hard pass now.
google avatar

Janette W.

Yelp
Love a big bar that manages to balance having a lot of places to sit while somehow feeling cozy at the same time. We ended up here a few times on our trip, mainly because it was open later than other places and in our neighborhood. The bartenders were super friendly and knowledgeable whether you were opting for wine or cocktails. We didn't eat here but saw lots of food go by and it all looked tasty.

Marlena N.

Yelp
This is our favorite bar. However, the last 2 visits were off. The 3 of us walked in and were told we would have to wait a minute even though there were seats to grab. We wanted the bar anyway, not a table. We were left at the front door by I think the manager. We didn't get that friendly greeting that we usually get and felt that he was too busy to help us. We ended up leaving as we had stood there for longer than we should have. It was only 8pm, not even their rush time. The time before that we sat at a table and waited quite a long time for 1 cocktail and 2 wines. The server comes back to tell us they do not have the wine we selected, so we ordered a different type. When we were ready for the check that we had to ask for 3 times, the wine that they were out of was on the bill also, that took forever to take off. Not a great experience as usual.

Zachary L.

Yelp
We hosted our Wedding Welcome Party here this past weekend, and couldn't have been happier with how it all turned out. Hayley, Brandon and the entire Truss & Twine team were accommodating, communicative, friendly, and professional. The space itself is modern, spacious, and chic. The ambiance is just perfect. Cocktails are top notch, and the bartenders absolutely know their stuff. If you're looking for a space in Palm Springs to host a cocktail party, look no further!!!!
google avatar

Pilar R.

Yelp
Stumbled in to this place for a cocktail and the bartender named Jake made me a refreshing "golden cooler!" It was so perfect and he then followed it with a mojito. My friend joined and ordered a "army navy". This was a lovely experience with excellent service, this bartender is the best in Palm spring's he truly knows his cocktails and I am Appreciative to his attentiveness. I strongly recommend the satisfactory service and the head Chef Courtney prepared a outstanding ox tail grilled cheese! I wish I could give more stars!

Joe A.

Yelp
Very good cocktail bar with amazing, friendly bartenders. I enjoy a Gamechanger whenever I can. This is a "sister" bar to the amazing Workshop Kitchen and Bar with cross promotion between the bartenders of both establishments. We also like how they host aspiring chefs through their pop up kitchen series. Only knock against the place is the somewhat uncomfortable barstools and bulky bar countertop that makes sitting at the bar somewhat challenging.

Zoie M.

Yelp
Phenomenal bar! We hosted a pre-wedding event there for friends and they were incredible. The service is outstanding and the drinks are top-notch. A must visit when you are in Palm Springs.

Yelp
A very cool, but fairly small place. Cocktails are totally on point. Aside from their speciality cocktails and standards, they give you a choice of "Dealers Choice" (which is where you select a base alcohol or two and/or a flavor profile, and the mixologist creates something for you). We had six of us, four with standard menu cocktails and two with "dealers choice". The 2 "dealers choices" had the same alcohol and flavor profiles but were each just a little different, which means they didn't take the easy way out and just double up a single cocktail. Both versions were great, I'm told. Everyone absolutely loved what they had. We also had some of their food, from a fairly limited menu. Three people had the grilled cheese, which all of them raved about. A couple of them had the mushroom and black garlic soup (which was the soup of the day) and they also loved that. The frisée salad was outstanding, as was the "beef cheek" entrée. Highly recommend.
