The 15 Best Vegan Restaurants in Tokyo, Japan | Eater

"Enter the confusing warren of Tokyo Station to visit this flagship of a small vegan ramen chain, which also has branches in Ikebukuro, Ueno, and Narita Airport. The specialty at T’s is tantan (ground “meat”) ramen, offered in three varieties, all rich with various types of sesame and plenty of umami. The bowls are the result of years of work to create delicious ramen that could more than stand up to the competition. The black sesame ramen and seasonal yuzu-laced noodles are wonderfully warming on a chilly day, and a side of gyoza is always a good choice. The restaurant has recently expanded its menu to include a silky massaman curry and, for those who want the heft of veggie protein, an overflowing rice bowl. Be prepared for a line during peak times, but the staff moves guests along swiftly." - Chiara Terzuolo

Google
Vegan visiting from USA. Very happy to find T’s Tantan. I came back twice during my visit. It was difficult to find using Google maps. You do have to enter the gates. There was a line to wait in both times but it was worth it. The meal was huge and so delicious. Very quick service. You simply order what you want from their tablet.

As a vegan family of five, T's TanTan was a very convenient option located within Tokyo Station. We stopped here for lunch before our Shinkansen to Kyoto and after returning from Tokyo Disney Resort. Our first visit was around 1:00 PM with a wait of about 15 minutes, which was expected given our larger group. On our second visit, we went closer to opening time (around 11:15 AM), and there was no wait at all. We enjoyed all of dishes we got here including the black sesame ramen, golden sesame ramen, rice bowl, and gyoza. Surprisingly, my favorite ended up being the rice bowl. In the end, though, my family agreed that we had better ramen at other places throughout Tokyo. I was expecting to be blown away because of all the high praise, but we were unfortunately let down a little bit. Also, both times we ate here, the dining area was very warm to the point that many of us started to swear. That’s not to say it wasn’t a good bowl of ramen; it just didn’t quite live up to the hype for us.

Google
T's Tantan is such a cool spot. We love the idea of vegan ramen. I had the golden ramen and it's like a sesame and peanut sauce forward ramen. My husband had the black sesame which is very black pepper forward. We both liked our dishes but didn't love them. We got there right at opening so there was no wait. The service was perfect and there is a tablet for ordering with English accessibility. The atmosphere is very nice and pleasing. It's quiet, but not too quiet and there is a lot of natural wood decor.

It was delicious! As a vegetarian traveler, it's amazing to find so good places in Japan. I tried the recommended ramen and I have no regrets. The gyōzas was delicious too! If I have to say something bad, is that it took me 2 hours to find the place in that huge station 😂. Oishi katta!

Google
Strategically located in Tokyo Station, this spot is perfect for travelers—especially vegans—looking to grab a bite before or after their trip. We had to queue for a while, but they thoughtfully provided chairs outside. I ordered the Golden Sesame Tantanmen, and it was absolutely delicious!

Google
I ordered the golden sesame tantanmen and it was absolutely delicious. The dumplings were great too, perfectly cooked and flavorful. It’s a bit tricky to find, but totally worth it. I’d definitely come back if I’m ever in Tokyo again.

Google
Was so good I had to get another ramen plus a take away for the Shinkansen! Definitely recommend I always go there when I get the chance. Plus it’s really affordable. They also sell instant cup noodles, saved us when we arrived to hotels late at night with limited vegan options around.

Google
This the best ramen you can eat all over the world. Super tasty and great ingredients! Additionals are amazing as well. Gyozas are so good! And soy meat! I tried 3 ramen types, missed the last one (Japanese). Hope to try it next time! For sure, you need to visit! It's worth getting lost in Tokyo Station haha

Yelp
T's Tan Tan is highly recommended vegan ramen spot in Tokyo and it did not disappoint. This is inside the Tokyo station and it did take me sometime to find this place. There was no wait when I came in and they let me sit at the table while I waited for my friend. This is a completely vegan place and had some options for ramen and gyoza. I ordered the golden ramen which had sesame and peanut sauce. I also got the vegan gyoza. The ramen was delicious and I really loved the gyoza.
google avatar

Nandini H.

Yelp
Our first Vegan ramen in Tokyo and it didn't disappoint. We tried the golden tantanmen and the black one both were pretty good. The vegan gyoza was delicious too. The only negative is the lack of any vegan protein like tofu or soy chunks to make it a complete meal. The service is quick efficient and the ambience is casual/comfortable. If you are vegan/vegetarian would definitely recommend trying this spot.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing restaurant, and I think some of the best vegan ramen I have ever had. It's located in Tokyo station so a great place to stop if you're between trains, it took us a while to find but well worth it. Easy to order and service was super fast.
google avatar

Shantala A.

Yelp
Very convenient location within Tokyo train station. It was perfect for dinner on the way back from all the sightseeing. Best part is it is all vegan! You order on the iPad and the food comes quickly. All the different types of ramen were delicious. My favorite was the black sesame ramen. The broth was very flavorful and on the spicier side. The vegan gyozas and the soy appetizers were all so good! Ambiance is very casual. So if you want a no frill, steaming bowl of ramen, this is the best place for that. Tip - They also sell instant ramen bowls if you want to bring some with you.

Yelp
Look no further for vegan ramen than here at T's Tan Tan, one of the coveted spots for plant-based folks and those exploring. HUGE Note: just like it's sister location in Ueno, you must pass through the ticket gates in order to access T's Tan Tan. Since this is located inside Tokyo Eki, you might experience a bit of a wait. I waited about 10 minutes in line as a solo diner before being seated. There are a lot of Japanese and international folks dining here, so you're going to listen in on a lot of different languages. I ordered their current special set which was their take on Thai Khao Soi and included a little cheesy rice bowl you can create using the broth after the noodles were done. I also got a side of their gyoza because they were great at the Ueno location. As expected, the food here is great. Ramen quality if top notch and their rotating specials lived up to expectations. For less than ¥2000, you're going to have a great meal and know it's fully vegan. Despite the annoyance of needing to enter through the JR gates, it's worth it on a stopover to your next destination. I'd plan to drop by for a meal if you're transiting between two different points on the JR line so it doesn't feel like you're wasting money just to gain access.

Yelp
While I'm not vegan, I found this place as a recommendation to help me stay true to my meatless Mondays. Located in Tokyo station, service was quick with ample seating - both for individual diners and tables to accommodate parties of 2+. As a family of four, we tried four different dishes and none of us (kids included) missed our regular non-vegetarian fare- the flavors were unique, complex and amazing. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Meeta A.

Yelp
Heard so many good things about this place so had to visit. They have vegan ramen and many other vegan dishes. The seating is quite efficient, some common and some private tables. Tried the Sesame Vegan Ramen - I found it okay because I am not a fan of sesame but husband loved it. Massaman curry was so flavorful and delicious. It reminded me of home food. My absolute favorite was the gyoza, I could go all in and just have gyoza for the whole meal next time! Loved it. We also got their packaged instant vegan noodles they sell in all favors and loved most of them
google avatar

Yelp
As others have noted, this is INSIDE the ticket booths for the regular subway area (not the Shinkansen area). If you've got a Suica card you can get in easily enough, I think we might have paid about a $1 fee to swipe and and out at the same station without leaving, so that's an option as well. I'm happily omnivorous, but my wife is mostly vegetarian so we wanted to give this a try. I'm honestly jealous that vegetarians in Japan have this level of option available! Really tasty broth, and while it doesn't have that meat flavor, it is super rich and has a deeper flavor than I'm used to seeing in vegetarian soups. Gyoza were quite tasty as well...
google avatar

Yelp
This location offers both dine in and take out options. Located conveniently inside the Tokyo Station Keiyo street, behind gates towards the red Keiyo line. They offer their classic menu and seasonal set menu for dine in. If you wish to take out then you have two hot made to order options of bento box or box of ten pieces gyozas (fried dumplings). Additionally they sell their instant ramen cups. If you are short on time or on tight budget, I highly recommend their bento box as it comes with plenty of rice, vegan char siu pork, and 2 pieces of gyoza. Wait time is about under 10 minutes. It's delicious and reasonable for 750yen. Highly recommend if you have not tried T's ramen yet. You'll definitely be hooked!

Yelp
It's not so easy to find vegan restaurants in Japan. I was very curious how good it would be when I found this vegan place. I'm not vegan but I don't mind practicing vegan diet several days a week. The restaurant was clean, and service was great as well. My food (vegan bowl) was tasty and didn't taste like typical vegan food. This is kinda important for non-vegan people like myself. I definitely tasted healthiness but not bland. I enjoyed the food. A few other items on the menu were also appealing. I will be back here soon. 5 Stars.

Yelp
I had this place on my list before I came to Japan to try. It's crazy how hard it was for me to find. But once I did, it was worth it. I went around 3:45 on a Monday afternoon and it wasn't crowded. I had the TanTan sesame ramen and some Gyozas. The food was so good and very flavorful. I left feeling very satisfied and I believe for the price it was worth it. I hope to visit this place again next time I'm in Tokyo.

Yelp
This is by far one of the best vegan ramen dishes I have ever had. I was so excited to find this restaurant and we ate here twice during our 2 day stay in Tokyo. Yes, you need your suica card to enter the train station and get to this restaurant, however it is well worth the extra yen. The gyoza practically melts in your mouth, the skins are so delicate and there is so much flavor, even before you bite into the gyoza. Restaurant is clean, we managed to hit it when there was no line and I would have gone a 3rd time if we had the time. I look forward to visiting this restaurant again and unfortunately I didn't take a photo of the Golden Sesame Tantan, as that was my favorite with the dollop of sesame paste (basically a smooth and very tasty tahini)! Please frequent this restaurant, we want it to be there our next trip to Tokyo!

Yelp
We were taking the bullet train from Tokyo to Kyoto and arrived at the station early. Looking for something to feed the family, which included my husband (who is trying to reduce his intake of meat), we stumbled upon this vegan establishment. For those who find the concept of vegan ramen strange, this chain is able to pull off the concept beautifully. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Amazing vegan ramen with complex nutty flavors. I only tried the black sesame ramen because I wanted it spicy, wish I had two more stomachs to compare with the other flavors. The sides were delicious and I'm already planning when I can come back to Tokyo to eat this again. I did ask for the noodles to be more firm/al dente as I've noticed all of my noodles in Japan so far to be more mushy.
google avatar

Poojitha S.

Yelp
I came here thrice during my 2 week vacation. Yummy ramen and gyoza. I tired their golden sesame ramen and black sesame ramen, like them both but the black sesame was more spicy and flavorful. Gyoza as side dish was perfect . Service was quick and there was no wait anytime, but twice they didn't register my order and I had to remind them that my food didn't come out yet. So I guess need to stay attentive here.
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic restaurant for vegans in Tokyo or really anyone tired of eating Sushi & Wagyu. Great atmosphere, clean simple. Ordering is straight forward. Curry has flavor, although I wasn't the biggest fan of the black sesame. We ate here 2x during our time in Tokyo.
google avatar

Yelp
Follow Gee W.'s tips to find the locations. Its worth the minor train fare. It's delicious, the best vegan ramen I have ever eaten. The menu has English translations, and the staff was very patient with my beginner Japanese. Vegetable Gyoza were also good. It's also a nice touch that there is a pitcher of ice cold water at every table. They have seating for solo diners (with acrylic partitions) as well as tables for two. The kitchen and staff are very efficient. I had a 5 minute wait on a Thursday at 12:30p, and I had my food in 10m.

Yelp
When researching places to eat in Tokyo, this place came up again and again on a reddit thread asking about everyone's favorite vegan spot in the city. Due to the sheer number of people who love the shit out of this place, I knew we couldn't miss the opportunity to try it. I will admit that getting there was a bitch. It took a really mortifying amount of time trying to figure out where the fuck this place is located. It is located INSIDE the station like you have to swipe in to get to it. Don't get your hopes up that it's in the "shopping" are adjacent to the station, no. If you are able to find the McDonald's, it just a touch further than that around a wall on the right. It's small but seemed to have plenty of seating for the number of patrons during our visit at around 5pm. We both ordered one of their ramen, obviously, as well as an order of the gyoza. This is, for sure, some of the absolute best ramen I have ever had. It is FANTASTIC. I was SO SAD when it was over. I'm remembering now, I got a black sesame ramen. Loaded with veggies, delicious noodles, and a scrumptious flavor overall. The gyoza were perfectly cooked with a delicate wrapping and tasty filling. So fucking good I wish I could live in this place.

Yelp
Our first meal in Tokyo and what a great one it was. It's nestled away in Tokyo Station -- I'd recommend asking for directions, but it's close to the escalator upstairs to the Naiyo line on floor 1. Everything is vegan -- oh yeah. 4 different vegan ramens, 3 of which are characterized by the sesame colours. I got the black sesame ramen and my wife got the golden sesame ramen (each ¥1100), and we both added vegan charsiu (¥450 per order) to our soup. We also got 6 pcs gyoza (¥600) to share. Our food came out in about 5 minutes. We were both blown away by the complexity of soup broth. My black sesame was a touch spicy and endlessly complex, with lots of nice toppings (Asian greens, pea sprouts, bean sprouts, some sort of radish, and what I think was a soybean paste). The noodles were cooked beautifully and plentiful enough. The charsiu side dish had a somewhat rubbery texture, but was flavoured well and went with the ramen perfectly. Extremely friendly and top-notch service as with everywhere in Japan it seems. Awesome spot for vegan ramen as central as it gets. Highest recommendation.

Yelp
First time trying vegan ramen. It was delicious and I would have never noticed it was vegan in a blind taste test. The ramen is super smooth and creamy with strong umami flavors. The noodles are reminiscent to egg noodles with the same bouncy texture. We ordered the white sesame ramen, spicy black sesame ramen and gyoza. Both the broths for the white sesame and spicy black sesame ramen were very tasty. The white sesame ramen would have been perfect if they had condiments for you to add your own level of spiciness. The black sesame ramen broth did taste better as it had that added spiciness but it may be too spicy for people that prefer a more mild spice level. The gyoza were ok. Not the best I ever had but still edible. Did not have any dessert options on the menu. The space is limited but luckily we arrived before the end of day/rush hour crowds. Staff were quick and polite. They brought our food within minutes after ordering. Overall a wonderful experience.

Yelp
Party of 2 came around 1pm on a weekday and were seated immediately. The host was so helpful and friendly. He put the tablet in English for us because we don't speak Japanese. We ordered from the tablet and only a few minutes later we were served the best ramen of our lives. We eat a lot of veg ramen. It's a household obsession. This place is the GOAT. I want to fly 11 hours back to Japan just to eat here again. I had the yuzu. The gyoza is a must. Perfection. Thank you!!

S S.

Yelp
Restaurant is inside Tokyo station and was a little hard to find. Service was quick. The food was fresh and delicious.

Yelp
This restaurant is a vegan haven for experiencing Japanese classics (ramen and gyoza). I also highly recommend the massaman curry, it was delicious with tons of flavor! The staff was very kind and would inquire about food allergies. Went to multiple locations and there was seating for groups or individual diners.

Yelp
T's TanTan is my favorite vegan restaurant in Tokyo! Ramen is just delicious, service is always stellar, and it is very convenient because they have locations in many major stations! I always get the vegan uzu ramen with konjac noodles. I love how it is low calorie and very filling. The seasonal hot and sour soup set is also very good. I have tried the sesame and it is flavorful. I would love if there was a shoyu flavor, or a miso ramen flavor! When you choose your soup base, there is an option to add cheese, char su (soy meat), or gyoza. The gyoza here is DELICIOUS!!! We always get a 6 pack and even that is not enough... I would also like to mention they have bento boxes if your in a rush. Feel free to ask about them -- they have rice, char su, gyoza, very delicious and convenient. Check out T's TanTan for vegans and non vegans alike. You'll find a good mix of foreigners and japanese people here and it is loved by all

Yelp
What an amazing little restaurant in Tokyo's massive GranSta! We went about 45 minutes before closing on a weekday and waited in line for about 20 minutes before we were seated (party of 3). They have plenty of tables and counter space. The service was fast and courteous, so it keeps the flow moving. I'd still expect to wait in line for the food. We all got the Golden Sesame Ramen with extra grilled soy meat and a side of gyoza. Everything was DIVINE. The ramen had a rich, nutty flavor and a little bit of a kick to it. The flavors worked so well with each other and I am so happy I got to experience this meal. The broth reminded me a bit of tahini and the noodles were oh-so succulent. I know other reviews mention that it's a busy restaurant and you may have to wait in line - if you do wind up having to wait, just know that your time will not be wasted. This place is so worth it. We spent 2 weeks in Japan eating at lots of vegan places and this one has a special place in my heart.
google avatar

Chantel H.

Yelp
Really nice vegan/vegetarian option in a city that has seemingly limited vegetarian options overall. T's Tan Tan is located in Tokyo station and seems to be pretty popular! The service, as is pretty much all service in Japan, is wonderful and the ambiance is nice and bright. Everything was tasty and of course the restaurant was clean. There was a bit of a line when we first got there but it moved pretty quickly and we didn't wait long at all.

Mohamad A.

Yelp
Good food, good service, vibes were awesome. I wish I was there again. I had the rice bowl and the dumplings were delicious. We had a larger group so we essentially sampled everything from each other. The black sesame ramen was the general favorite. Recommend for sure
google avatar

Adrianna U.

Yelp
Best vegan ramen ever. I don't think it even needs the qualifier "vegan" because it's just plain old delicious ramen! I'm not vegan, but went with friends who are. I liked how they use a combination of peanut butter, sesame seeds and fake meat alternatives to copy the creaminess and savoriness of actual ramen. Super delicious. They also sell vegan cup noodles and sandwiches. A rare haven for vegan-unfriendly Japan. Kinda difficult to find but located near the Keio line. since this station is an absolute monster, there's a lot of information desks if you are confused.
google avatar

Herman Y.

Yelp
Good vegan ramen dish and rice dish. Located in the Tokyo station, this is convenient when you are hungry and waiting for your train. Recommend you to get the special, rice char siu, and gyoza. All items on the menu are good.

Joie Y.

Yelp
Famished after a full day at Tokyo Sea, I looked for something to eat between stations. (This is actually inside Tokyo Station on Keiyo Street) I saw vegan ramen. WHAT?!? Is there such a thing? I was intrigued so I decided I should try this. I was seated at a single table and given a cup of water and menu. I looked over the menu and settled on a miso ramen. I also wanted some gyoza, but for some reason, that got lost in translation and I didn't get an order. Looks like I'll have to brush up on my Japanese. The broth was yummy and there were lots of fresh veggies like cabbage, corn, and bamboo shoots. The noodles though were perfect, not mushy and not too hard. Not quite al dente either, but in between. I noticed that noodles in Japan are cut thinner than ramen places I eat at in the States, but that's America for you. The serving was adequate for me. The restaurant was pretty packed when I visited and there was line of people waiting to enter. But service is brisk. Most people ate and went on their way. The price is fair and I would definitely eat here again.

Jeanine S.

Yelp
Hard to find. It is near the Keio line. But worth the search. The gyoza were excellent as were all the dishes we had (the signature sesame one and the yuzu one).
google avatar

Nishma S.

Yelp
A bit difficult to find in Tokyo station (you must have a ticket and be on the inside), but once you find it, you'll love it! Admittedly, Tokyo is not the most vegetarian or vegan friendly city in the world, but T's Tan Tan does not disappoint. There's an English menu with pictures... use it. I've been to T's Tan Tan three times now (over two Japan visits) and I've had the golden sesame and the black bean ramen. Both are fantastic! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I was in Tokyo for work and had a hard time with food in the business district. I picked up a couple of the T's Tan Tan to go and those were yummy too!
google avatar

Sharon R.

Yelp
Yes, you need a train ticket to get in. If you use your IC card, the machine gets pretty annoyed that you haven't gone anywhere. The station manager asked why we were inside and when we said food, he charged us a small amount to the IC card (iirc it was about 200 yen). Like others have said, follow directions to Keiyo Line or ask for directions to Keiyo Street. We followed signs to Keiyo Line until we saw T's tan tan sign. On to the food: never thought I liked ramen before this trip, but after trying the gold sesame and torinkotsu ramens I'm all in. Broth was rich and flavorful. Especially liked the gold sesame and the mild sourness. The kara age are delicious fried bits (traditionally made with chicken), and I totally recommend it. It is completely worth it to go through the trouble of getting into the station, and looping through trying to find it.
google avatar

Veda J.

Yelp
If you're a vegan who has only eaten pickled plum onigiri from the Family Mart for over a week, then this will taste like ramen heaven on your tongue. What a absolute magical experience. Vegan ramen in Tokyo. I love that this place exists because it means that we vegans do not have to miss any of the traditional styles of Japanese food. The ramen was delicious. I tried a few different ones on their menu, all consistently delicious. I would say the soy sauce flavour was my favourite. The curry on the side was a lovely touch too! I will mention that this place is always busy, sometimes you might need to line up outside. I don't mind this as I'm happy to see a vegan business succeeding in Japan. I will admit, it is quite annoying that you need a train ticket to enter the area where the restaurant is, however, I will pay anything for good ramen! Definitely have to grab some cup noodles and curry on your way out for those hungry late nights in your hotel room where there are no vegan options available! Also delicious. Add this place to number 1 on your vegan food tour of Japan!
google avatar

Neelu Y.

Yelp
This place is amazing! It's very hard to find since it's tucked away in the corner though. We had to ask for directions from several people to get there. We arrived at 8pm and there was a line of about 8 people ahead of us, but we only had to wait ten minutes to be seated. And the food was definitely worth the wait and hassle of trying to find the place. It was delicious! I had the Black Sesame Tantan. I also got to try the Soy Milk Pudding and that was amazing! I know that this is definitely a place I must stop at next time I'm in Tokyo.

Ashwin K.

Yelp
An absolute godsend perched in the Tokyo station. Highly recommended for tasty vegan food.

Yelp
This place is by far the best vegan ramen in the world! As someone with a ton of dietary restrictions, I am so grateful to have found a place where I can not only eat, but really enjoy the food. Food is a bit of a struggle for me in Japan, so when my husband and I were exploring the shops of Tokyo Station one day, I was surprised to stumble across this place! My husband was a good sport and agreed to check it out (he's not a fan of vegetables or anything vegan). To my surprise - he loved it!! It was such a relief. This is now our fourth trip back to Tokyo together, and this is a stop we make at least once (sometimes I beg for multiple meals here - can anyone blame me?!) every time we visit. My husband and I always order the shoyu ramen, and split an order or two of gyoza. The broth is amazing, and the soy meat is pretty tasty (if you're plant based, you know soy meats can be really hit or miss). Although the wait is usually pretty long, it's absolutely worth it. I'm getting hungry just writing this. I love T's and will continue to make a stop here whenever possible!

Yelp
This is one of the few places to get vegan ramen in Tokyo. It was very busy when I got there at 8pm on a Thursday. You queue outside the shop in the station. They have a couple of choices including ramen and mapo tofu. There are also instant noodle cups by T's that you can buy for later. Overall, the service was good and quick. Most of the staff speak English.
google avatar

My H.

Yelp
I actually enjoyed this place much more than I had anticipated. According to the restaurant, everything is vegan, however, I'm not sure if the noodles are gluten free. I ordered the tonkotsu and I was surprised by how yummy it tasted. The broth was creamy with the correct amount of saltiness. The ramen also has a nice amount of sesame seeds which makes the flavor bolder. I want to say there might have been some peanut sauce in my ramen but i could've mistaken the smell from someone else's ramen. The restaurant is super clean and has a nice chic vibe to it. The staff members also speak English and they can provide English menu if you request it. Since this restaurant is located in Tokyo it is no surprise that a lot of the patrons are foreigners. It was kind of cool to hear people speaking and enjoying their food without having to worry about disturbing others - this makes the restaurant feel very comforting. If u are in Tokyo station looking for something vegan then I suggest you check out this location. You won't be disappointed. I took away 1 star because the portions are small and the sides (gyozas) were very bland and weren't crunchy. T's TanTan is located on the left side of the Ecute Keiyo street, besides these deep escalators that take u to the line to Tokyo Disney. So if you are coming from Tokyo Disney then once u go up the long escalator the restaurant will be to your left.

Yelp
This place is worth all the hype. We try to stop in every time we're through Tokyo Station, which is basically every day we're in the city! It's just so great. As a vegetarian it is one of my favorites in all of Japan. Their Gold-sesame Tantan ramen is the best.

Yelp
Maybe I just don't like Ramen in general, or maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but I wasn't the biggest fan. This place is confusing to get to (you MUST have a train ticket, there is no way around it!) and it did take me a while to find it. But I was determined to find vegan food in Tokyo! I got the gold sesame ramen, based on other yelp reviews. The peanuty taste everyone talks about is basically a plop of creamy peanut butter that is placed in the bowl. I found the broth to lack depth and it needed more substance to me. I also got the dumplings as a side, which were average. I appreciated the good service, and the numerous vegan options, but I really wasn't the biggest fan.

Yelp
A great place for vegan ramen. I don't eat meat, but do eat seafood, eggs, and dairy. Most broths for ramen are pork/chicken based. Their vegan broth was savory and quite flavorful. The noodles have no egg and were good too. Not too soft or hard. The location was quite difficult to get to as it is inside the bustling Tokyo Station. If you are traveling through there it is a must if you want to mix it up and take a break from meat or seafood.

Yelp
I go here at least once a year. It's hard to find vegan ramen or even vegetarian ramen, and T's Tantan are the Masters. They pack in so much flavor and the price is right! You don't have to be a vegan to appreciate the quality of the food. You can't go wrong with the signature dish, T's Tantan which has a rich, nutty, creamy, sesame based broth, crispy bok choy and some well-seasoned mock meat. It's a filling bowl and priced right at 720円. It is packed full of flavor and textures! If you go past 11:00 AM you can make it a set and add side items. Personally, this is too much food for me, but it does give you the chance to try some other items. I have tried the fried "meat" side before. It was okay, but the sauce was too sweet for me. The ramen is really the reason for coming here. Besides the signature ramen, I really enjoy the white spicy one. It actually has some heat to it! My least favorite ramen here is the shoyu one, but it's not bad, just boring in comparison to the others that are sesame based. There are a few things to keep in mind to make sure you have a great meal: 1.) You have to pay for at least the cheapest JR fare to get to this restaurant since it's inside the ticket gates. It's worth it though even if you aren't going anywhere. 2.) They serve a morning menu from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM and it is way more limited with only four choices. It's still delicious, but keep this in mind if you have your heart set on a certain food item here. The ramen has been consistently good over the years and it always comes out quickly. I can't wait for my next visit!

Yelp
Best ramen I had in Japan (Kyoto, Kobe, Tokyo combined). I'm not vegan but it has a peanut-ty taste, which is probably why it's unique in the best way possible. Wish I would have bought some in bulk from the shop because it's mad expensive over here in the states. I got the black sesame with added vegetables + the spicy ones (which is very spicy -- kind of breaking a sweat). The line wasn't bad like I thought it would be. Didn't wait at all for a table but it wasn't a busy time of day.

Yelp
Food was nutritious and delicious, but it took me hella long to find the restaurant at tokyo station even with google maps navigating me. It probably took me longer to find the place than it took me to wait in line to be seated, get seated, place my order, wait for food, eat the food, and pay the bill. I wish I had 5 stomachs to try everything on the menu, especially the katsu sandwich which looked BOMB. Somebody try the sandwich and let me know if it's worth going back to Japan for

Yelp
Being a vegan in Japan is sooooo hard, so a friend recommended a vegan place and I knew I had to go. This place was super difficult to find, but we eventually made it after asking several people where it was. We were seated right away, everything looked great, but I ordered the Shoyu since the waitress said it was the most popular item with some gyoza. My husband had the sesame ramen and the "chicken." Everything tasted wonderful and I was just so happy to have a meal to eat.

Yelp
Checked this ramen place out. There was a bit of a line to get to this place. They had good ramen dishes though some of them were sold out. The waitress was a bit snobby when we asked her for little bit of soy sauce and salt. But this is a good ramen place to try ! The black bean ramen was much tastier than the golden sesame or white sesame ramen. Most dishes has peanut so people with allergies beware !
