Tsing Tao Restaurant

This was our first time here, and we did take-out. Ordered 3 lunch specials and some appetizers to go. Maybe a dine-in experience would have gone better but for takeout, my experience was really disappointing. The hostess was nice but the food we got was very much like high school cafeteria food. Like the other reviews, the egg fried rice had absolutely no flavor and almost no egg in there, on top of the small portion. It looked like it'd just been scooped out of a pot that's been sitting there all day. The two chips on the side were also just kind of sad looking... The only upside was that the chicken tasted a little better than it looked and the chicken and mushroom soup was adequate. Maybe we'll try dining in next time for a better experience, if we ever decide to return.

Came here for lunch. The food was tasty and delicious, and nice mix of authentic Chinese ingredients. The staff were all friendly and nice, the restaurant is very clean and the decor is immersive.

The food is very good for a simple chinese food. Is more Americanize than traditional Chinese food. My first visit was with my son. We order lunch plates, on a Saturday which not lot Chinese restaurant have them or charge you $1 or $2 for it. He order BBQ Chow Mein with egg fried rice and I order Eight Delicacies w/steam rice And on side their Plum sauce noodles and fried chicken . It was very good and plum sauce noodles was excellent. My son is picky eater and he.love the noodles. I highly recommend the Plum Sauce Noodles.

Really good food, service is great, very friendly employees. The location is clean, and overall an amazing experience.

Good chow mein noodles and fried rice. I like that the noodles aren't overly greasy. A lil more meats would be appreciated, so it's not mostly rice or noodles. Fast service.

It's great to see the waitress take over the business. If only Nancy stopped stealing tips and got up from sitting down 24/7 maybe things would've been better.

The family had decided to have dinner here one last time before they close at the end of the month. This restaurant was a definite family favorite growing up, made a lot of memories here. We absolutely love the sizzling rice soup here and order it every time we come here or even to go. Today, we ordered the sizzling rice soup, pot stickers, Mongolian beef, house chicken, prawns ala Tsing Tao, and shredded pork with garlic sauce. Everything tasted great as usual. We are all sad to see them go and will definitely miss this place!

I ordered for pick up, but my mom was the one who picked it up for us. Not sure of what the inside looks like, I've only driven past it. Plenty of parking. They have lunch specials but it only comes with the ones they have pre-picked, you can't customize in any way. So I decided to just get a size of bbq pork and a size of shrimp fried rice. It was not the move. The bbq pork wasn't like other places, it was extremely dry and the flavor was not there. The rice was bland and the shrimp weren't seasoned. It was very disappointing. I wanted to like them, but it wasn't for me sadly.

I'm glad this place didn't close up. Ambiance is tradition Chinese. The fixtures,the parents put some serious money in this restaurant, you won't be embarrassed to take a date too. Food, one of the best hidden gems in Stockton! Food's here, I'm eating! Done!

Tsing Tao has reopened !! Nancy sold to a relative who previously worked there. Same menu plus a few additional items. In particular Chow Fun Noodles ! Happy happy joy joy

Everything we ate was delicious and flavorful- we especially loved the sizzling rice soup they are known for. The waiter was very helpful and attentive and the interior design is very pretty and has a lot of great Classical Chinese decor.

Nancy and James ... Happy Retirement Feb 15, 2025. My Husband and I passed by the Restaurant last Saturday and saw the sign OPEN !! Surprise !! So my husband walked in and saw Jia, she was Nancy's hard working Waitress !! Jia and her husband and her cousin and wife bought the place ... same menu. The next day, 13 of us, came in after our meeting. Had great time . One thing we love about Tsing Tao ... delicious, tasty, and consistent and nice place to meet with Friends. So glad Jia stayed in this same place. Met Customers .. families .. dining .. who's been loyal with Nancy and James. They were also glad ... Tsing Tao REOPENED You're rolling now - got any more to add? Now ... we're supporting Jia and her husband ... Great and delicious food

Decent Chinese food in the middle of no where. I was in town for work so they have either lunch special or dinner special combos, perfect for solo dining rather than having to order multiple dishes. Lunch rush had only one waitress and one cashier but the waitress was hustling everywhere serving all the tables. The I got the dinner combo and there was so much food, I was able to eat it for another meal later. Had to get a Tsing Tao as well (I was hoping it was somehow draft since it's the restaurants' name, but it came in a bottle then poured in a glass)

So glad they have reopened. We were a group of about 10. Even though there were a couple of other large groups, the service was fast and the food was delicious. Thank you for a great lunch. We'll be back!

#1: I have traveled to Lodi and Lathrop to find the small Chinese noodles, instead of the "spaghetti-size" chow mein noodle, which seems to be used by many Chinese restaurants. Unbelievable, my wife and I walked in, our second time, in 12 years. We live .7 of a mile from Tsing Tao and the noodles were like the ones I grew up eating in Lodi. Delicious and wonderful atmosphere! The food stayed so warm that after they put our leftovers in the boxes, the table was nearly hot to the touch, from where the plates were sitting. I am so pleased with the food, the friendliness, and the atmosphere, I will return, for sure

Came here for the first time Sunday afternoon and the restaurant was fairly busy. The decor of the restaurant is very nice and the place seemed very clean. I ordered the almond chicken lunch to go and the wait was 10 mins. When I tried the food, I loved the flavor! I liked how not greasy the food was and the almond chicken was my fav! I definitely would recommend the place and I'll come back again.

Our favorite Chinese restaurant in Stockton!! Quality/Quantity - Our favorite dish here is the Noodle with Plum Sauce, so so good! Sorry no picture... Other options are: Lunch Specials from $9.50 to 10.95; which includes egg fried rice and fried wontons. Dinner specials are $15.95 which includes BBQ pork fried rice, fried prawns, and egg rolls. Family or house pre-fixed dinners, see menu. Atmosphere - Decor is beautiful, looks new but is actually 23 years old. If they take such good care of their furniture and decor, imagine the food and service! Beautiful banquet room that seats 45 people. Open 6 days a week from 11am to 9pm (Yelp hours are wrong/off a little); closed Tuesdays. Plenty of mall parking. Service - 6 Stars, friendly caring team; especially the owner operators. Price - Great values. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success since 1999!! Everyone come support local businesses!!

The 3 ingredient lunch was my favorite! Nancy and her staff will be greatly missed. The food was so delicious and you got a lot of it! You never left hungry!

Been going here for years, especially when I was growing up in stockton. Lunch special staple & Big dinners with family.. quality and taste of the food hasn't changed a bit. I love the Mongolian beef, house chicken, and the eight hot delicacies with fried riceeee! When you order takeout, they no longer include soup. Found that out today but I didn't care lol I went and bought some because that's basically the main reasons as to why I love their lunch special so much!!!! It's a hot and sour soup with no meat- for a la carte they offer this soup as well but it'll come with chicken or shrimp. I also love love loveee their kimchi! Yummy sweet and crunchy cabbage. Love dining in too because I enjoy their hot tea as well.

I'm bummed that this place will be closing at the end of the month. One of the best places in Stockton. The owner will be retiring.

Best Chinese food in Stockton. One of the best restaurants in Stockton honestly. Great service and a super friendly staff. They have been consistent since they opened so many years ago. I understand the nephew owns it now that the owner has retired and they haven't skipped a beat. Still great and fresh every time. I could not recommend this place enough and I tell everyone I know. This is the type of local business we need to support.

Staff was friendly and helpful. The house chow mein was spectacular. I've had better garlic fried chicken, but it wasn't bad. I will try them again to give a better review.

3/5/23 - I didn't cook and I was craving Chinese Food, especially broccoli beef. I have only been here three times and the first visit was great, I ordered a dinner for one and dined-in; it was a great experience!! The second & this one I am doing take-out. I ordered Mongolian Beef & shrimp fried rice the second time, and I did not care for the rice, too many carrots & peas. This visit I ordered the broccoli beef, a small wonton soup & fried won-tons. The wontons were not good and no meat; the surprise was you get a lot. So far the broccoli beef & the Mongolian Beef are winners!!! The restaurant is always clean and the one waitress is very nice. The cashier is always busy helping with pick -up orders and the constant flow of customers coming in. If you decide to dine-in you will like the peacefulness of the restaurant. There are people constantly coming in picking up orders, but they are quiet.

Tsing Tao has reopened and it is as good as ever! The owners retired and other family members decided to reopen

Been going here over a decade. They have thee best sizzling rice soup, Mongolian beef and their empress chicken is sooo good! Pam and everyone else there is so nice and welcoming. My absolute favorite restaurant!!

We had a wonderful dinner. The restaurant is closing as Nancy is retiring. We wish her the best!

Probably the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Everything was gross just look at it. I called the restaurant to tell the manager what happened. She offered 15% off of our next order and than proceeded to tell me that I needed to PROVE their food made us sick. How am I going to do that Nancy? Be for real. No wonder they had multiple health code violations last year.

On for your traditional Chinese Lunch on New Years day. 3 of us opted for different lunch plates. First off a cup of hot and sour soup. The entrees Mongolian beef, sweet and out pork and orange chicken. All spiced nicely with a choice LG steak.ed rice or Fried rice big scoops!. No disappointments!!

Everything that we ordered was out of this world FABULOUS!!! The food came piping hot , the service was wonderful and the food came very quickly. Tsing Tao has a very friendly staff and a wonderfully friendly owner. Nice atmosphere.... Check them out next time you're in the mood , you won't regret it .

Fast service, so kind, good food. Ambiance is good, as when I came it was hardly busy. Server was so nice and the food was out in less then 5 minutes after being seated. Nice, chill place to eat out.

I only ordered from them one time. Their sweet and sour chicken and chicken chow mein were delicious. Their chicken noodle soup was not. The broth is 5 stars but the noodles are ramen curly noodles and have no flavor. Would I go back? Yes, but I wouldn't order soup.

It's bad business hen a business close before their scheduled time. Drive all the way thee to grab dinner only ti see a closed sign in the door 29 min before advertised time.

Okay. I think I'm being generous here. We didn't get to eat at Tsing Tao. The three stars is supposed to be a neutral score. We arrived at about 6pm on a Saturday night after reading about them on Yelp. This was after we had gone to another local Chinese restaurant that had a sign on the door that they were closed for a Family Event. Well, Tsing Tao also had a sign on the door that said that they were closed for a Family Wedding. Coincidence? No idea. Only know that we were hungry and wanted some decent Chinese Food. Hope everything worked out for everyone involved. Fortunately, we were very happy with our third choice!

Food was okay.. Flavor wise wasn't that great.. Portion small and overpriced!! Customer service was slow.. On a good note, it had a party room!

Best Chinese food in the area hands down! Friendly service and delicious m, fresh food make this place a must if you are in the Stockton area. We drive from Ceres for this Chinese food delight!

3.5 stars... came for a family birthday dinner. Ordered the Mongolian beef, lemon chicken, chicken and green bean, house fried rice, chicken chow mein, fried prawns, fried garlic chicken and crab puffs for an appetizer. I love fried chicken and the fried chicken was pretty crispy... I also love chicken and green bean and it was good. Not sure what else I can say about it which is why I say 3.5 stars.

I don't know how this place got four stars we had the garlic chicken it was good ,Pork Chow Mein was dry ,Mongolian Beef also dry Eggplant really didn't like it ,Spicy Tofu it wasn't spicy at all The place is a no for me

The food was okay. Our usual Chinese places were closed so we tried this place. I don't think I'd go back.

Today's lunch wasn't good. The fried rice didn't taste fresh at all and my lemon chicken was off. Came out too fast, should have known. Too bad as this had been so good before. The rice was like Day old left over rice. Lemon chicken was chewy with a crispy crunch not so good. Yummy - we haven't been here for years and I don't know what's kept us away!! Service friendly and fast and food was delicious. Fried green beans needed a lil more seasoning to the batter. The egg rolls were pipping hot but I didn't taste them. The chicken fried rice had a great flavor. The chicken chow mien no veggies was dry and needed more flavor. The kung pow chicken was delicious. The lemon chicken had good thin chicken with a nice crispy crust, but the lemon sauce was just ok, more orange'ish flavor than lemon. When I added a touch of soy sauce it and tasted better. The veggie dish needed more seasoning and less chestnuts, otherwise

We were recommended to come here by a friend and boy o boy were we not disappointed. This place has moved up to top 3 favorite Chinese restaurants in town. The food is incredible, our waitress was so nice and accommodating . The restaurant was very quiet and clean which we love! We will be coming here ALOT from now on and I will highly recommend all my friends try it. Honey walnut shrimp was my favorite.

I love this restaurant! We've dined in once and gotten take out a couple times. I originally put this restaurant on my list after seeing a mouthwatering picture on instagram of their plum sauce noodles and I HAD to try it. Since then Ive tried a few dishes but the Plum sauce noodles are my go to. I will say they're better at the restaurant than to go because they package the noodles and sauce separately in to Go containers and it takes a bit to pry the noodles apart and get them sauced up once you're home. Taste is the same, but they just look so good when you get a bowl at the restaurant. Definitely try the lunch specials, the house chicken is really good and this is one of the few places that will give you soup with your take out lunch order as well as dine in. I have learned they do not take discover but visa and MasterCard are good to go! If you're looking for a good spot for lunch or dinner give it a try!
