"TuArepa Pizza Cafe remained uncommonly solid, including a plain slice with extra cheese, a narrow crust, and a delightfully bland tomato sauce." - Robert Sietsema

"Taken over not too long ago by a Chinese-Venezuelan owner, this pizzeria just off Queens Boulevard in Forest Hills was already a historic and fully functioning institution. Now it also serves overstuffed arepa sandwiches, fried and baked empanadas, cheese-stuffed cachapas, and other Venezuelan fare as a sideline. The pizzas, though, remain uncommonly solid, including a plain slice with extra cheese, a narrow bone (the bare outside edge of the slice), and a bland tomato sauce that makes this example typical of great neighborhood slices. Other more contemporary slices include the baked ziti, the Hawaiian, and the bacon chicken ranch, the last slice gobbed with salad dressing." - Robert Sietsema

I tried the pesto pizza here I gotta say it was good. Plus the slices were big and I didn't have to wait too long. Coming back next time.

This place is amazing. I moved a couple blocks away and it's my new favorite go to! I love their fried arepa with shredded chicken and cheese. They are made to order and you can add whatever you want to them! 10/10 in my book :)

I've been to so many Spanish restaurant in the past and although this is one of the few Venezuelan spots in queens it isn't the best one. I feel like the prices are not fair. Everything it's a bit pricey but then again maybe it isn't for other people. Overall the staff is very kind and you don't really have to wait too long since the place is rarely busy. The food isn't terrible.

Hidden gem that has some ridiculously good South American food made like it came Grandma's kitchen. Oh, and the Pizza...yes they make Pizza and it is quite good. Definitely not your dollar slice kind of stuff.

I had the Cachapa con Queso ($4.50), and it was very tasty with chunks of real corn, and a big wedge of cheese that reminded me of mozzarella, much better than the street fairs. I'll be back for the pizza, which looked amazing.

I would have never walked into Tu Arepa on my own. This location looks like a pizza bodega but I got such a glowing recommendation from my family that we wanted to try. And it was an amazing novel experience. So much so, that I predict Arepas will be the next big thing when New Yorkers discover it. Arepa is this Venezuelan soft corn cake with savory taco-esque stuffing. The arepas from Tu Arepa Pizza Cafe are made to order. So super fresh. (Expect a 20 min wait for each one). We got the pabellon (beef, plantains, black beans and cheese) grilled arepa and the pernil grilled arepa. The first bite brings you through the crispy grilled layer to the cloud-like consistency of the corn cake. And the pernil was juicy, fatty and so well seasoned. Definitely get the pernil! The sweet soft plantains were great in the Pabellon. I just wanted the shredded beef, beans and cheese more mixed. Definitely come here for a new experience.

Delicious fried or baked arepas (corn cake) with many fillings to choose from: cheese, chicken, meat, pork, black beans, sweet plantain. The smoothies are also great. Can’t wait to try the empanadas.

These Arepas are amazing. Eat em while they are hot so you can experience the melty cheese mixed with the shredded meat, beans, and plantains all blend into deliciousness
