WOW When we arrived, were greeted right away. Since it was our first time there, they explain your opitions with their menus whether hot or cold sandwiches. Roasted red pepper soup is BOMB. Parking is NO problem! We all really liked this place, we'll definitely be back!!

Words can not express the greatness of the sandwiches served here. Our first experience included the full sized Jalapeño Philly and the Gourmet Italian on wheat. She said that's a lot of meat and she wasn't lying. This small sandwich shop blows away any and all others. The staff were friendly and helpful. My only complaint if you can call it, that is that they close at 7 pm during the week. Damn, I'm stuffed.

My boyfriend and I stopped here and wow! The customer service was great. They asked if it was our first time and gave us a breakdown on how things worked. We split the gourmet Italian sub and large roasted pepper soup. Both amazing!

Hey, Tucci’s - Where’ve you been hiding?! I popped in today and ordered a Philly cheesesteak. I grew up in the Northeast and your sandwich today tasted like home. The folks you had working there were having a great time and the sandwich was out of this world. I’ll be back. If you’re passing by, pull in and treat yourself.

If you need something to get you sorted out for the day, come here! The food is DELICIOUS and the prices don’t hurt our pockets- my friend and I split the Italian beef and it didn’t even need the au jus- we had to slurp up the juice from the sandwich beef itself, let alone dipping it in the au jus…. I’m honestly used to dry subs that I need to drench in mayo so this was a welcome surprise! The service was quick, the location was clean, and the staff were great! They all seemed to get along with each other and have a good flow. The person preparing our sandwich heard us make the order and got started right away, so we got our sandwich real quick! The staff gave us good recommendations when they saw us all looking at the menu for a while, and even the customers pitched in to tell us- they recommend the spicy Italian, but it seems you can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. This place seems to get a lot of repeat customers of all sorts, too- many people came in and were greeted by name, greeting the staff by name in return. They looked friendly and happy to be there, making idle chatter with the staff and even strangers like myself. One guy looked over at my Italian beef and said “great choice”!! Everyone’s food came out fast and was very tasty! The staff showed concern for my friend who was carsick as well, offering to get her water which we found to be very sweet. When I was asking our cashier about the soup of the day, he said he’d be happy to get me a little shot of it to try… it slipped both our minds for a few minutes but he went and got it for me anyway (which I was impressed he remembered, because the store was BUSY!) and when I tried the roasted red bell pepper soup I was hooked!! One of my fave soups EVER, just sad I wasn’t able to get myself a bowl because I had to catch a flight back home. Do yourself a favor and get a big ole sandwich, some chips (and/or a bowl of soup!!) and a lemon ginger soda. You can’t go wrong with anything here, my only regret was being too full to get myself more soup because WOW, that was one of the best soups I’ve ever tried. They’re killing it here, hope you give it a shot :)if I lived here I’d definitely become an instant regular!

This place feels like what you want in quality sandwich shop. Small, limited seating, a clear, unchanging menu, and a wait while they prepare your sandwich. And Tucci's delivers on that. Great sandwiches, brimming with superior meats and toppings. Honestly, I'd expect a surly guy behind the counter relying solely on the customer's craving to keep them coming back. But the people here could not be nicer. It's fortunate I don't live closer, otherwise I'd spend $$$ every week. I'm dreaming of the next visit.

The reviews aren't lying, I had the jalapeno cheese steak and it was delicious. Jalapenos were fresh and the meat cooked perfectly. They have main root soda which is usually don't like but they had a lot of different flavors like Texas red, blueberry, and pink drink that were good. I'll be back to try the meatball

The sandwiches are unbelievable but the real reason you come here is for the people that make it all happen. Everyone is polite and professional but in a way that makes you feel welcome, like you’re a guest in their house. I’ve been here probably a good dozen times and Ive never seen an unhappy face. Come for the food absolutely, but keep coming back because it’s the best damn shop around. I know I will.

The family and I had lunch here today! Greeted right away and the staff was super attentive and polite! The food was AWESOME! My custom sandwich was perfect, the wife's Cuban was delicious, my grandson loved his pizza sandwich, and our son and daughter in-law loved their's as well! This is now our go to for lunch when we are visiting Austin from Aledo Tx. Awesome job Gucci's staff!

Omguhhhhh you guys, why is this place not viral on all the local influencers' pages?!?! So damn good, you get no pictures of the sammies. Fantastic service from the guys working, great guidance on their best sellers, and daaaaaaaaamn that pastrami was bangin! Quick service time, friendly workers, excellent food... will be back for sure!! Note to future self: white bread was softer than whole grain option.

The staff at Tucci's Southside subs have kickass attitude. Sez They: We make the best subs in Central Texas, and nobody else comes close. Sez They: You are about to get pure awesomeness. Your world is about to rock. * * * They definitely talk the talk. But they also walk the walk. Tucci's Subs are definitely amazing. Austin frankly is a pretty lame sub town. The best you can get is Jersey Mike's which is just okay. Tucci's totally delivers. Note that they do NOT deliver by just doing an empty imitation of Northeastern Sub Shop conventions. They know how to do an empty imitation. You want a real Northeastern Italian sub? They can give you one. But Tucci's frankly takes the Northeastern Italian sub shop formulas And goes one up. What is the secret? 1) Keep the Italian "hots" that are the essence of top of the line submarine sandwiches. 2) Add garlic mayo. No self respecting Northeasterner would ever ever put mayonnaise on a sub. Their garlic mayo rocks the world. Their garlic mayo changes everything. If you then follow the basic northeastern rules And add industrial quantities of really good meat ... And insist on really fresh really good sub rolls ... And make sure you have both Italian hots and garlic mayo You get an awesome submarine sandwich. Don't just do sit there reading this. Go there and actually order a sub. When the cook says you have entered a universe of submarine sandwich excellence, Believe him.

This place hit the spot for me. Focus was on the food and service. The restaurant was clean, and no fancy frills. There was a sign on the wall by the door inviting you to follow the link or QR code to the current health inspection score. Forgot the number, but it was an A at the time of our visit. Again, focus in the right place. Most importantly, the guy on the register (and all other functions) was super helpful without overdoing any of it. In between transactions he was on to the next thing behind the counter. The other staff knew the operation well, too. Very efficient. It's increasingly rare to have a customer service experience that is so authentic, but we sure had it on our first visit (not last) to Tucci's today. Sandwiches were awesome!

One solid Italian sandwich! I was searching all over Austin to find a good Italian sandwich, was between two places, and this did not disappoint. I ordered the 14 inch gourmet Italian sandwich which was heavy and big enough for two meals. Bread was fresh and flaky, cold cuts were thinly sliced and generous, peppers were on point and the garlic spread was a nice touch. Service was fast and owner was super friendly. They also gave us samples of their freshly made red bell pepper soup as we waited - also really good. Could not have been happier. Parking was easy and plenty of seating.

Great subs with a good variety to choose from. It is obvious that they use. quality products. The staff were very helpful providing details about the menu and the food came out quick as well. Would recommend!

If you haven't been here, you're missing out! I recently had their Philly Cheese steak sandwich and I wish I would have had one sooner. I typically go with cold subs like the Italian, but that cheesesteak is a true winner. They are truly a go to destination for sub goodness. I just wish they had a location up north where I live. Maybe someday. The staff is pleasant and the store was clean too.

Cold subs are my passion, they are my weakness. I had literal mafia family who owned a butcher and "grinder" shop in Connecticut and I'd visit them as an 8 yr old to which they would stuff me full of food. This was the start of my love affair that still runs hot today. Utilizing YELP I've tried many interesting places around town to scratch my itch, but the surfer in me is continues looking for that perfect wave; in this case sub. Located in the Century South shopping center in a safe and easily accessible part of town Tucci's is a modest little shop pumping out good food. So, when my kids visited in July, it was on our hit list. Walking in the place isn't fancy at all, but it's clean. A few modest tables line the walls, nothing special but there again, less to distract the hunter from their prize. Be warned the fountain drinks are Main Root which means they're "like" coke products but not exactly and I'll admit better as they use REAL sugar. They also have a drink fridge with more traditional options as well as tea and monster drinks. Rounding out the sides there are an array of chips choices along with a few sugary treats to compliment the meal. The hallmark of any great subshop is first quality meats and secondly them slice them to order. While a lot of shops now slice their own meats and cheeses, few use Boar's Head. With this info in mind, even before I got there, I knew this would be magical! Next, they do bake their bread so another huge win in my book as most just proof up frozen bread which is devoid of the little touches. Finally, the owner was there and was an extremely friendly guy and genuinely excited to take my order while guiding me through what he thought were the best choices to try as I scanned the menu above his head. As delightful as he was, my benchmark are Italians subs so it was game time. I was debating where to get the Gourmet Italian vs the Classic Italian, the difference being prosciutto being added. I'm not a bacon fan and while prosciutto isn't bacon in that it's not smoked, it has a very intense flavor and will quickly overpower anything it's paired with. I proceeded to order my standard sub - extra mayo, oil, and lettuce with regular amounts of tomato, olives, onions (which are thinly sliced not huge chunks) and Oregano. Two things became apparent off the bat; first the prosciutto dominated the experience which robbed me of tasting the high-quality meats. I'll take the blame here but the second issue I had was the meat on top. As a side note, how ingredients hit the mouth affect flavor; which is why macaroni and spaghetti noodles are made from the same things yet taste different. The meat crushed the veggies so it through off the whole experience. That said the quality of everything on the sandwich were great, just unfamiliar, thus in my opinion, poorly executed. One of kids got the turkey and provolone along with mayo, lettuce and pickles. She loved the bread and ingredients but was like minded in that she hated the presentation. My youngest got the ham and Swiss with mayo, lettuce and tomato. However, she proceeded to crunch Doritos into the sub so I'm considering her well taught yet throwing out her review. Overall, they had the same experience as I did. Overall Tucci's is trying to set themselves apart and I can respect that, however the fact they're using Boar's Head IS the selling point. Throwing meat on top changes the expectation and throw off what we're all accustom to eating. So the way around this is if you're reading my review, you now are prepared. Besides that one issue I'd say they have top notch subs worthy of a top billing. I apologize for not trying a hot sub for a review but it's not my thing. My final thought is if you have a "grinder, torpedo, sub, hoggie, etc." craving this is your go to, just tell them to throw the meat on the bottom and you'll have the best experience in Austin.

This place was recommended by my hubby's BFF. Food was pretty good. I got the Austin club and it didn't disappoint. This late reminded me of a hoagie shop back home.

This sand which shop is absolutely amazing. I have grown up coming here and the service, quality, and food has NEVER dwindled. Anything you get will be delicious. This is one of those OG Austinite spots, that would usually be overlooked due to its homely, yet cozy, demeanor. If you're new to Austin, check it out, it will become a favorite!

I love tucci's! They serve up a great sandwich, whichever one you decide on. I like the classic Italian or the Philly. It can be a little pricy and their hours are kinda weird but if you find yourself eating here you won't be disappointed.

Best meatball sub I've ever had! They make their own marinara in house. I ate it so fast I didn't even snap a picture. Will be back.

The best sandwiches I've ever eaten, anywhere, anytime. Very consistent. I had to dock them a star because of the profane music they were playing. Just don't bring your kids in with you to pick up a sandwich. )I'm getting of tired of that.)

This is the best Philly cheesesteak I've had in Austin! I can admit I've been back for more. The meat is so thin and tender and well seasoned,, the cheese pull is like no other, the peppers and jalapeños give it a kick, the bread is soft and it's worth every penny! They do also have colds which are just as good and loaded with toppings. They have a great selection of chips and good drinks. I also love a place where you can pay with your phone. The customer services excellent. Staff is always polite and helpful offering free water while you wait answering any questions and making any adjustments you like to customize your food. Tucci's definitely has a homey, small town deli feel and serves up only the best. Highly recommend, but you will want to return because the food is just that good.!

I really wanted to like Tucci's, from the fact there aren't many good sandwich shops around, to the way they represent a bit of "Old Austin", to the way the support local businesses, to the way their staff was friendly. However, my sandwich was simply disappointing. It wasn't bad. It just wasn't worth almost $12 and probably 800 calories. I got the Classic Italian. It wasn't one bit spicy, and this comes from someone who usually can't handle any spice. The bread was limp and the whole thing was dripping in oil. Sad.

That was one of best Italian subs I've ever had. Hands down. Clean establishment, friendly and approachable workers! Great experience!

New favorite sandwich shop south of town, hands down! We arrived late (about 30 min before closing on a Sunday) and the team was still so nice and happy to make us some delicious sandwiches. We got 1 "whole" sandwich (which was quite pricey) because we were hungry. But didn't realize that it'd be SO HUGE that we'd make 3 meals out of 1 sandwich! Also got a half which I still couldn't finish in 1 sitting, even though it was SO flavorful and not as messy as I'd feared from a chicken Parmesan sandwich. We'll be back for many more! Great subs in south austin!!

Great sub!! A hidden gem in south Austin. Had the Italian and it was delicious. Fresh bread. Ask about the crock pots. You will not be disappointed with the answer. ;)

We heard about this shop over social media and decided to check it out on a gloomy saturday afternoon. Customer service was great and everyone that came in after us was also there for the first time! Staff was very friendly & attentive. Delicious subs made fresh and they're decently proportioned! The Gourmet Italian sub is their most popular and know we know why! I also tried the tucci's turkey (half) that was tasty.. Will definitely be back to try some of their hot subs! It was the perfect lunch for a rainy day

First time here. We got the Austin full sub, two bags of chips and two drinks and it came out to $33 with tip. We ate in store and started munching as soon as our order was ready. Instantly noticed the meat was a few slices just on top of all the ingredients and the bottom of the sub was already soggy even though we got it toasted. The sogginess continued as we ate. Most of my bites were just lettuce and peppers and ever so often I'd get a bite of meat. The flavor(when there was meat included in my bite) was good and tasted fresh. And the staff is very friendly and the guy at the register was very kind and explained the menu and even told us how the bread is baked. Overall, I'd probably try it again and maybe ask for the sauce on the side? Or none at all?

Absolutely phenomenal all around! Went for the meatball sub-fantastic. Got it with no alternatives to how they make it and they knocked it out of the park. Loaded with sauce and I loved the extra herbs. I was weary about the onions but it ended up being super flavorful. They recommended the gourmet Italian as well and not going to lie I might have liked that one even better. Absolutely loaded with ingredients. I did change the cheese to pepper Jack, but included everything else and I recommend you do too. I think the garlic mayo/mustard they add was the ideal sauce. Honestly I'd buy that sauce if they sold it in a bottle. Cookies were bomb too, had to grab a few more before we left. Annnnd they have Mexican coke on tap! 10/10! Great service as well!

Here for F1, wanted to pick up a sandwich for the flight home and saw Yelp reviews. Sandwich was fresh and delish. There were two gentlemen that helped us and sooooo nice and respectful and friendly.

One the best sandwiches I have had in Austin. I had the gourmet Italian one with everything on it except for pickles and onions. I liked the bread, it was fresh and soft. The meats were thinly sliced and the cheese, lovely. The vinegar was a little overpowering. I will definitely take that off next time. All in all, it was very good!

As a future sandwich shop owner I couldn't help but to review this place! This was my third time eating here and it seems to get better and better each time; the staff is always friendly, accommodating and down to earth and the food is always fresh. Today was my first time trying a hot sub and I went with the Italian sausage, it was delectable to say the least and was served to me piping hot! The meat was flavorful and had the perfect amount of sauce, paired with a bag of jalapeño chips and a blueberry main root fountain drink you can't go wrong. It's safe to say I was full and satisfied for the rest of the day. The restaurant itself is a homely spot and everyone treats you like family when you walk in.

Is it the best sandwich I've ever had? No. Was the service extremely friendly? Also no. But was it great after a long day in the sun? Yes! The portions are huge (I feel like a large would be 3-4 meals for someone w a smaller appetite) and they actually put vegetables on the sub. Again, the times I've had it, the flavors weren't anything fancy or new to me, but they're familiar and consistent. The interior of this place is extremely 90's in a way that makes me feel weirdly comforted. That's especially needed after the chaos of this parking lot, which might be one of the ugliest/most chaotic in this part of town. Wish the hours were less limited.

Okay, let's get into it. The meatball sub is UNREAL how delicious it is. The service was A+. It was our first time here and they were helpful with walking us through the menu. The ambiance feels like you're right at home. Plenty of tables and good music.

I decided to try their meatball sub one more time. The first two times were rather forgettable. Being from the northeast it's offensive for a place to claim they know east coast subs and miss the mark every time. Today, I ordered one without onions (I am allergic) and extra cheese. There were onions in it and no extra cheese and the cheese that was there was stuck to the aluminum foil. They have no clue how to make a real meatball grinder. Furthermore, they were rude on the phone and said I had to bring the sandwich in for a refund - meaning I'd have to drive 15 minutes to see if they correct their mistake. Awful subs. Awful service. I honestly have no idea how they have 4.5 stars.

Usually get good serice.. Not today, lazy asses decided to shut down the grill 40 min before closing. Be going to Jersey Mikes from now on.

Grabbed a spicy Italian sub with my honey! A neighbor of ours just dined here and was raving about it, Jan lived in the northeast for years and was definitely craving a solid italian sub. The menu is adequate and self explanatory. (Detailed description) We decided to split a whole sub and that was huge, lol I was surprised at the amount of meat but Jan says that's the secret to a delicious sub. I didn't think the spicy was "spicy" but more of a mild. Ask for extra peppers if you're into heat. I did like the "tucci's way" of condiments. Very pickley and oniony. Great combo to cut the meatiness. We also got a drink and chips to share. The fountain drinks are Maine root brand and delicious! They also offer some bottled jarritos and Mexican coke if I'm not mistaken. The chips were mostly kettle cooked. Very impressed with the service and ambiance. My partner says this is the real deal. We'll def have to stop by again real soon

I know it's a sandwich but definitely one of the best ones I've eaten I live nearby and it's hard to not eat there everyday

2nd review here. Today we tried the hot Italian beef and grilled Bologna ... AH-MAZING. Everything on the menu looks great and I'm convinced everything here is a 10/10 so I will be back to try everything they have. Ughhh, I love this place!

This was our second time coming to Tucci's and we are obsessed. I got the Cuban sandwich and my partner got the spicy Italian. Sandwiches were phenomenal! We were promptly greeted when we arrived and the staff was super nice! Seems like everyone coming in and out of there was a regular and on a first name basis with the staff. Keep up the good work! We will be back! Best subs in Austin!

Great sub! deli meat was good quality. I got the spicy Italian and enjoyed it. Jersey mikes is my go to, but this place beats it. Service was prompt. Went a little before noon on a Thursday and the wait for food wasn't too long. I would suggest ordering ahead of time and picking up if going during lunch time.

They are open til 7. I drove a half hour and got there at 6:20. I was told they had "iced" whatever was need for a meatball sub but I could have a cold sandwich. If you say you're open til 7 your menu shouldn. t change before that.

Was on my way out of Austin and wanted something local before heading home to San Antonio. Tucci's didn't disappoint at all. With so many sandwich options to choose from, I settled on old faithful (meatball sub). It hit the spot and was super delicious. Although it's a sandwich I'd recommend, I'd probably come back and try the chicken parm sub or something. Didn't take long too order my sub nor did I wait too long after ordering. The place seemed mom and pop ran. Parking was easy to obtain as well, something hard to come by in Austin. Great sandwich shop! Clean on the inside with plenty of seating.

Came for some well deserved grub before the concert tonight. Recommended by family. Philly Cheesesteak was what I was dying for! With Mushrooms! Best. Will return.

Three of the four sandwiches were good. The Italian beef was not. Had some gravy with the beef that did not jive with the sandwich. Why have the gravy if you also have Au Jus? The worst part was the service. When they called my name they handed me the bag and I asked if the black and white cookies were in the bag. Guy behind the counter didn't speak up so I asked again. His reply - I said yes. Horrible attitude. Wouldn't go back based on the 'tough guy' attitude of this guy. Person that greeted me was as nice as can be. Too bad the folks he has working with him don't understand common manners.

So, tired of the "junk" around 290/71! I yelped this joint and decided to give it a try. I pass through often between Houston and Marble Falls and looking for a close to the path place to grab food. I was goi h to grab some fried chicken when I decided to yelp! Glad I did! Food was fresh, service great and the chips fresh. So many subs to choose from so, it will be another stop on my way through again! Thanks for the great reviews for this little gem!

A top tier sup shop. I lived in the northeast for a while and one thing they do great is subs after coming back to the south it's been hard to find somewhere that compares. If you're in a similar situation look no farther, Tucci's does it right. Would be really rad if y'all could start doing some bacon egg and cheese beagles and pork rolls.

Delicious subs! I have been hesitant to go to Austin subs as fairly new to the area. I hate mayo, and know many chains love to slather it on their sandwiches. Tucci's does not, clearly noting which subs are free of mayo. Their cheese steaks are especially good.

I can't believe it's taken me this long to try Tucci's subs! The employees were all very kind and quick to make the sub. I tried the gourmet Italian cold sub and it was a solid choice. The ingredients seemed fresh and I'd definitely get again.

I stay away from chains and like to support small business so I had this on my list to try. It's in my neighborhood and I really wanted to like this place but I just can't justify this. We got 3 half sandwiches for $40. OVERPRICED for what you get. Almost $20 for a large sub. Very skimpy on the meat. Service was meh. Do not recommend.

It's located in an Austinite area where only true OG's roam. Right next to a bomb Indian food restaurant... So, make sure you find it as well and put it on your list. I was put on game by an ex gf, she was like bruh you never had Tucci's and I was like nah idk what that is and she was like you're stupid So we went there, and my sandwich was so good that I had to break up with her... i just couldn't bare it

Friendly service was evident as soon as I walked in the door, and the young man who took my order was very helpful for my first ever visit to Tucci's. I got two 1/2 sized subs, the first being a Philly cheesesteak without jalapeños, with Provolone, garlic mayo and plenty of peppers. The meat was tender and the bread fresh. The second sub was a "create your own" with my choice of Genoa Salami, Capicolla, Provolone, fresh spinach instead of lettuce, tomato, and again, plenty of sweet peppers. I got it "Italian Style," which translates as oil, vinegar, and oregano. I appreciated the generous helpings, and the spinach stood up well against the oil & vinegar (much better than shredded lettuce would have, plus it's crunchier and healthier--I highly recommend). So since I got the healthy spinach I got a chocolate chip cookie to make up for it, haha. It was soft and delicious--give one a try. I was happy that the staff was not only friendly but conscientious, as I received exactly what I ordered (seems harder to find these days) and didn't even have to wait very long. They offer online ordering, if you're so inclined. I would definitely rate Tucci's higher than Thundercloud (my last visit there they were out of sweet peppers --really???--plus they gave me stale bread) and certainly higher than Subway. The only problem with Tucci's is that it's located in South Austin and I'm a Northie!
