"Distance from the start: 8.0 miles  Bathroom: No This stop will only apply to you if you walk on a Saturday. Sorry. But if you do, Saturday is farmer’s market day at Lincoln Center, and right outside the 66th Street 1 train station, there’s a compact collection of stalls where you should purchase whatever in-season fruit they’ve got. We ate cherries all the way to Margaritaville, leaving a trail of cherry pits down Broadway. " - willa moore

The Tucker Square Greenmarket at 66th Street and Broadway is open Thursday and Saturday from about 8am-3pm, but composting only until about 11am at least on Thurs.. This market is very centrally located right across Lincoln center near citibike and the subway, and has a great selection of farms and orchards and bakeries and dairy. Grandpa Farm is a no-spray farm from the famous black dirt region with good prices. Row by Row farm is certified organic. Stoke's Farm is a mostly no-spray farm coming to NYC since the 1970s. Prospect Hill is an orchard which sells one of the few organic NY State apples, and some of their berries are even wild, while also selling baked goods and sugar-free granola. Dairy is also available including local handmade cheese on Saturday.

Enjoy the fresh products from neighboring farms which are locally made, grown or baked. We enjoyed our freshly baked pumpkin nut bread, and mango apricot jam. Yes it is very expensive and a very New York experience!

They usually have a great selection of fresh organic meat, cheeses and even some exotic vegetable. Great place to get high-quality liver if you need to improve nutrition.

I love getting biscottis from here whenever I’m around. Simply the best biscottis in the city, better than many of the famous bakeries.

Yelp
Tucker Square Greenmarket has been a favorite of mine for years. I moved to the neighborhood on 74th and Broadway in 2002. I still visit the Greenmarket when I'm back in the neighborhood. The market is named after Richard Tucker the Opera singer. The nearby park is a comfortable place to rest after you shop. This area is great for visitors to Lincoln Center and the nearby American Folk Art Museum. I'm going back soon since I still have friends living in the neighborhood. It's fresh fruit and veggies so enjoy!

Yelp
Small Greenmarket Wish there was a bigger selection here, but I understand there is limited space. GREAT waffles at the waffles and dingles cart. Fantastic chemical free lettuces, honey, syrup, apples, smoked duck breasts, grass fed meats. You name it! The Scene: Environmental, Local, Earthy, Feel Good Destination Rating: 4 Date Rating: 7 (10 if you're a good cook :) Hob Nob Potential: 3 Strong Suggestion: You won't be able to find everything here, but what you do find is rather tasty. Be prepared to make a second trip to the store.

Yelp
Rare fruits and fresh family produced food. Worth it!

Yelp
It's a Saturday morning, and you open your fridge to find a moldy block of cheese, stale bread, leftover chocolate cake and the requisite beer. Your freezer's not much better: it's got a bottle of vodka and the bialys your mom bought for you at Zabar's two years ago. You want to replenish the healthy food, but you're too hungover to make it down to Union Square. Have no fear, this Greenmarket is open on Thursday and Saturday from 8am to 5pm. It's a great alternative in the neighborhood if you're feeling too lazy to travel anywhere. They cover the basics, with 3 different produce farms (two basic ones that usually have apples, tomatoes, etc and one focusing on more varied produce like jalapeno peppers, bok choy and other more different things.) There is also a bread/cheese stand, DiPalo's turkey farms, and Knoll Crest fresh eggs. It's pretty easy to whip up a good omelet from the offerings, so you can grab what you need, go home, make your breakfast and then get back in bed for your Saturday-afternoon nap.

Yelp
Where else am I going to get locally-sourced free running chicken eggs, hmm? And raw grass-fed cheddar? That's some seriously hippie stuff. You can't find it at Trader Joe's, y'know. The only problem with this market is I come for eggs and I leave with eggs, cheddar, apples, squash, onion, heirloom tomatoes, etc. It's a tiny market but what it has is good.

Yelp
Just got back and, like Sara said, if you got an empty fridge and you live nearby, Tucker Square is perfect. The market is very small, under ten vendors. It's cold out, so I'm not sure if there's usually more around. Personally, I prefer a larger venue. I have a whole system: see everyone, buy nothing, and then go to the ones I remember, budget out what I want, then prioritize, and THEN buy. This system is completely unnecessary at Tucker Square. I took twenty steps and I was already at the end. Here's what I saw: 1. Fruit: Good apples and pears. Nice selection. Two vendors. Hot cider served up and perfect for the weather. 2. Vegetables: One stand. I didn't check it out cuz I don't really eat those. 3. Other: Meat, pickles, mushrooms and cheese! Yum! If you like any of these things, you better check it out. 4. Justina's Suggestion: Apple cider donuts. Get a bag. You can't eat just one. Their cookies are pretty damned good, too. Same vendor also has some granola that I may try next time.

Yelp
Not worth a special trip here. There's about 6 stalls, and most of the time, they all carry pretty much the same produce (e.g. lots of apples and pears in the fall, lots of berries in the summer). If you live nearby, it makes sense to shop here, but otherwise, you won't find anything particularly unique at this Greenmarket.

Yelp
Small, but good. I usually go to the farmer's market near the Museum of Natural History, but for some reason it was closed this weekend. Tucker Square delivered most of what I was looking for--fresh veggies, excellent sharp cheddar cheese. The flower and plant selection looks good and I am often tempted by the baked goods.

Yelp
Great neighborhood farmer's market. They aren't large like the one in Union Square, but decent for uptown. The seafood guy has great scallops, the cheese woman has a great selection of cheeses you can try a different one every week! The organic veggie farm has some awesome local and and in season organic veggies you can enjoy!
