5 Chicago Restaurant and Bar Openings to Know, October 2025 | Eater Chicago

"One of Chicago’s favorite Thai spots has expanded with a new outpost in Wicker Park. Tuk Tuk Thai Isan Street Food , known for its regional dishes like grilled pork neck, papaya salads, and whole fried snapper in sweet-sour chili sauce — has landed on Division Street, bringing a popular BYOB policy and menu built around bold, funky, spicy flavors. It replaces Seadog Sushi Bar." - Jeffy Mai

Tuk Tuk Thai Isan Street Food (Wicker Park) - Review - Chicago - The Infatuation

"One of our favorite Thai restaurants has a new location in Wicker Park. Like its Lincoln Park sibling, you can expect dishes like panang curry, Isan-style beef soup, and over a dozen spicy salads." - John Ringor

I’ve officially found my new favorite go-to Thai spot in Chicago! From the moment I walked in, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. The food is unbelievably good—packed with flavor, super fresh, and cooked perfectly every time. Just a heads-up: the spice level runs high, but the staff is great about helping you choose the right level so you still enjoy every bite. Vachira was the best server!! The ambiance is cozy, inviting, and perfect for anything from a casual dinner to a date night. The waiter was incredibly kind and made the whole experience even better. Overall, this place exceeded every expectation, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend!

My wife and I stopped into Tuk Tuk on a Sunday afternoon after hearing great things from friends, and it did not disappoint! This new location is a fantastic addition to their Lakeview restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor and beautifully presented. You can choose spice level from 0 to 6 and we opted for levels 3 and 4 for our dishes and it was spicy enough. The staff were all incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. I also loved the Thai décor and warm, vibrant vibe. It’s a family-friendly place with a comfortable, inviting atmosphere, and finding parking was easy. Highly recommend to anyone looking for authentic Thai flavors with a nice decor in a relaxed and welcoming setting. We’ll definitely be back!

One of the biggest restaurant surprises I had in a long time. First off, super cute and fun interior. It in itself is a fun experience and worth seeing. Lots of colors and great for a date. The food is spectacular. I had the pork neck appetizer and pork belly dinner. Both were delicious, tasted fresh and clean, and had interesting flavors. I also got the Thai tea, which was super milky, not too sweet, and sooooo orange. Really great drink. Can't wait to take my gf there. Reservations recommended!

Good vibes and a delightful lunch with friends!(tuk tuk#2) This wonderful restaurant brought back memories of my hometown flavors in Thailand. The authentic taste made every bite so enjoyable. This place has never once disappointed me — Nong Den (server) showed such a kind service mind, N’Fon (Thai salad chef) kept her lovely smile even while working so hard, and special thanks to P’Kui (manager) for the warm and heartfelt service. Truly a beautiful dining experience. ❤️😋😋Yummy!

This place is a gem. Everyone we encountered were very friendly and accommodating. My husband had a spicy dish but asked if the spiciness could be reduced a bit for him and they happily obliged. It was difficult trying to pick which dishes we wanted. They all looked good. We ended up ordering the Kai Tod(marinated deep fried wings, not pictured), Kai Yang (charcoal grilled marinated chicken quarters), Tim Thai (original Thai style green papaya salad), and Plain Lui Susan (deep fried while snapper). Just an immense explosion of flavors. Salty, sour, sweet, and spicy. We loved it.

First time trying this spot, and we were thoroughly impressed! The interior is decorated very well and creates a great ambiance. The Thai tea was so yummy, would highly recommend. We also got panang curry and pad kee mao, both with tofu. The flavor was great - definitely one of the best Thai spots in the city. Would highly recommend! We didn’t make a reservation and got lucky. But there was a wait for walk in tables after, so definitely make a reservation

Loved everything about Tuktuk Thai Isan Street Food! The food was super flavorful and authentic. You can tell they put a lot of heart into every dish. And Vachira was awesome -- super friendly and on top of everything. We went for their grand opening. Can’t wait to go back!

The grilled pork neck is so legit — like, this is the real deal, exactly how it tastes back in Thailand. Juicy, flavorful, and just perfect. The papaya salad with fermented crab and fish sauce? OMG, it’s amazing. The flavor hits just right — super authentic, spicy, and full of that Thai kick. The crying tiger beef is grilled medium to medium-rare, tender and juicy — not chewy at all. Love it. The steamed squid with lime and chili is super flavorful and tangy. The soup is so good I literally drank it all. I had butterfly pea with lime juice which is very refreshing. And the coconut ice cream — rich, creamy, and refreshing. Such a perfect way to end the meal. Also, the service was so nice! The staff were super attentive, and the whole energy in the restaurant was just great. Loved the vibe here.
