Where To Get A Paleta In NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"The kids running around this Bushwick deli stop to marvel at the rainbow lineup of paletas sitting in the freezer, and on a hot day, so should you. Tulcingo's freezer stocks a selection of distinctly Mexican flavors: There’s super sweet, bright red grosella, cheesy nance fruit transformed into a tart treat, and for a creamier option, there’s mamey. The fruit’s dense, silky flesh almost tastes like frozen pumpkin pie filling on a stick. For the adult attempting to corral their sugar-high kids towards the subway, rompope is key. The Mexican eggnog flavor tastes like it has enough rum in it to be almost (blissfully) inappropriate for an ice cream party." - neha talreja

Google
Great service they got everything authentic Mexican products. I love the candy they sell in there, and the place has been around for years.

Love this place! Great prices, great selection of produce, Mexican cooking staples, and snacks. Plus they sell beer and are open 24 hours

Google
A classic Mexican store for the neighbourhood. Update: Still a very great Mexican store with many household staple items.

Yelp
Amazing tiny Mexican grocery. Don't miss the produce room in the back left corner of the store, it's great! Ask for perfect avocados at the front counter.

Yelp
Friendly, warm, and good produce. I love the vibe here. I love their queso oaxaca and usually you can get nice fresh espazote and jicama, too. The man behind the counter can pick avocados at magical ripeness. I always think he's giving me some spoiled, bruised one, and it inevitably opens up to perfection. Reasonable prices.

Yelp
This is a recent arrival in the neighborhood, maybe 2008 or 2009, operated by people from Mexico and most of their clientele is Latino mamas with kids in tow. The place is clean, organized and they have, in addition to staple American greens, amazing, fresh-to me exotic- vegetables and fruit from Mexico. The place is a bit less expensive or on par with supermarkets, but the fact that their produce is fresh makes it worth going there. Definitely a top of the line ethnic market.

Yelp
Great service, really chill and friendly people. Owner is a really nice, warm, and open guy. Unfortunately, their fruits and veggies are often on the spoiled side, and most of the rest of the options are really unhealthy snack foods. Inexpensive melons, mexican cheeses, and freshly cut cacti are a nice bonus, but given that Ive purchased too many rotted fruits and veggies, cant really spend money here.
