Tupy’s is my husband’s favorite place to go for years!! He has been a big fan since Tupinamba ( old location) this Mexican restaurant is become the legend! We love to come here either Friday night or Saturday night and our favorite waiter is “ Alex” he’s the best! He knows and remembers what we liked! Super nice and friendly guy! Foods and drinks always on point, hard to disappointed.

Plenty of parking...The place was clean... The decor was nice and the service from the bartender, who took our order, was great...He was very accommodating with our order and very friendly... Their skirt steak was quite impressive...It was cooked exactly how I like it...The seasoning and everything about it was on point...In addition, the price for said steak was pretty nice as well... The place does get quite busy, especially on a Sunday morning/afternoon... When I'm in town I will definitely be stopping by again...

We like going here and sitting at the bar. The food is good and the drinks are reasonable. Friday nights usually have a waiting list so I like going on Saturday.

I recently started coming to Tupy’s for lunch, and it’s quickly become a favorite. The atmosphere is inviting and relaxed, perfect for a midday break. The food is consistently good — especially the Tupy Taco, which I absolutely love! The staff is always friendly and efficient, making it an ideal place for a quick, satisfying bite during the lunch hour. I’ll definitely be coming back again and again.

My first time visiting Tupy’s, I always heard it was good so now I able to try it for myself. The Puff taco was good and so was everything on my plate lol, the beef enchilada the tamale, and my taco was delicious. My wife had the Fajita cheese enchilada and me Fajita was really seasoned and cook to perfection. I’ll definitely be back.

Went to have dinner here with my 9yr old daughter. The service was fast. The food was very delicious. The kids steak fajita was super flavorful and not spicy. The carnita tacos were very good, the shredded Ribeye taco was also very good (it's a little spicy too and delicious). The corn tortillas were the best I have ever had. Definitely going here again.

This is my new spot! I've been looking for a smaller neighborhood restaurant for Mexican food, and I found it. Nice little place with a good bar and nice music. Chimichangas, enchiladas, chips, and salsa! Loved every bit of it. I asked for two sauces on the chimichanga to try them both, and they were accommodating with my request. See ya again soon!

Tupy's does Tex Mex and they do it well. Think chili con carne enchiladas, puffy tacos and all the good cheesy stuff. We used to drive to Dallas for Tupinambas, shoutout to the Yelp Reviewer who clued us in that their sister location was right around the corner ! My date always orders the Combo #1, which is so much food! He really likes the Tupy Taco and won't share that. I had the shrimp fajitas, cooked well with all the fixings. But the borracho beans... mmm I could eat a whole bowl! Great food, pretty restaurant, awesome service and now even closer, we WILL return !

Sometimes, you walk into a place hoping for a bold experience, and instead, you get a gentle one, and that's not always a bad thing. We stopped into Tupy's on Lebanon and gave the cozumel shrimp nachos and the sopa de rez a try. The service was smooth, the environment was clean, and everything came out hot and fresh. The food itself? It was okay. There was nothing wrong with it at all, it just didn't pop with the kind of deep, rich, layered flavors I associate with more traditional or home-style Mexican food. That said, I get it. Tupy's clearly caters to the tastes of their regular crowd, and for the guests they're serving, they're doing exactly what's needed. The food was seasoned with care and presented well. It may not have been the bold authenticity I was hoping for, but it was consistent and comforting, and sometimes that's exactly what folks are looking for. So I'm still giving 5 stars, not because it blew me away, but because Tupy's knows their lane, and they're staying true to what their patrons want. Always good! Great food the ambience is amazing the parking is convenient! Always get the chimichangas and the ceviche is amazing! Definitely a must try place!

Super underrated and super delicious. We were visiting our family (my cousin) in suburbia and we wanted to grab a family friendly dinner + adult bevs. The usual Tex-mex chain options were on the list when my partner found Tupys. I always prefer supporting a local spot rather than a big chain (no idea if Tupys is a big chain but I'd never heard of it so it got my vote). We had 4 adults and 4 kids at peak dinner time on a Saturday evening in Frisco. We waited about 30 minutes for a table but the lobby area was fine enough to entertain the kids. We even had the bartender come out and take our grown up drink orders. We all got margs or their rift on a Paloma (forgot the name). All was good. In no time we were seated and off to the races. Food was all good and the kids menus were a solid 10/10. I got the mixed fajitas which we're super reasonably priced at $20 or so and we got several apps for the table to share. Service was excellent and the only thing I'd suggest for feedback is to dial up the heat. The heat (spiciness on the food that's supposed to be ). My partner got a Diablo chicken and she said it had no real bang. All in all, a great spot with friendly service. ps - plenty of TVs throughout the restaurant so HOOKEM !!!!

Very consistent and very good every time we come in. Some of the best text backs in the area in my opinion. The shrimp enchiladas are a creation I never had before and this time they were so good.

Very disappointed in the establishment. They do not answer their telephones. My hope was to order "To Go" this evening. I ended up driving to their establishment t to sit and wait for a carry-out order only to be met with a sign in the door which reads "no to-go orders Friday and Saturday night." Would have been nice if they could have answered their phones and had at least a message telling their customers of that fact. Poor customer service.

Tacos and margs are super yum. Found this randomly while searching in Yelp. Was not disappointed.

Having wanted to come to try this place for a while now, my wife and I finally got the chance. A family run place, the vibe is laid back, with a sleek and modern look. The booths are quite comfortable, and the service is fairly quick and pleasant. Now to the business at hand... the food. The chips are on the thick side and robust, and the salsa had some nice heat. Very nice. My bride ordered the chicken fajitas. The portion size was enough to satisfy almost everyone and very tasty ... yes, I took a bite! I ordered the beef enchiladas dinner that came with rice and beans. Let me pause here ... I could make an entire meal of their rice and beans ... perfect! The enchiladas were on point with tortillas sturdy enough to stand up to the cooking process, and me attacking them with a fork. For dessert, we had some sopapillias. Yum! Finally, the affordability factor. We had two dinners, two sodas, and dessert for a total of $38! Very affordable. We will definitely be back... I want to try the puffy tacos.

My husband and I tried Tupy's for the first time this week and we were so impressed! I ordered the Tuppy's Tacos and he ordered the Tuppy's Burrito with fajita steak. Both were great and the service was excellent! I also got the carne guisada taco to try and it was PERFECT! I'm from south texas (The Valley) and it's so hard to find restaurants that serve Carne Guisada so I'm always excited to try it when I see it on the menu and it did not disappoint! It tasted like authentic Carne Guisada, super tender and super flavorful! I also often judge mexican restaurants based on their mexican rice and Tupy's had better mexican rice than any other mexican restaurant I've been to! Including Salsa Tex Mex, La Hacienda, and Mi Cocina. We will absolutely be back and we look forward to it!

We had a large party and they quickly had us seated with chips and salsa and waters on the table. Excellent, speedy service! The atmosphere is casual but very festive, and they have a variety of elections for kids and adults on the menu. I had the taco salad and loved it!

Great food!! I loved the Tupeys tacos! It was like a very upgraded Jack in the Box taco, so delicious! Great lunch specials. I would love to go back for a margarita soon!

Recently moved and tried several Tex Mex places. We've found our new place! Tony our server has adopted us as his favorite customer! Food is excellent and drinks are well made! Geaux try this one!

Gabino was our server and did a great job for us first time visitors. We started with a $5 House Margarita and a $9.50 Top Shelf. Both were very tasty but I did like the Top Shelf one a bit more. Chips and salsa were promptly served and Gabino gave us a little dish of their original salsa (you now have to request it). I liked it!! I liked both but my perfect paring is the Top Shelf with the original salsa! We both got enchilada/taco plates. I got verde sauce on my chicken enchilada and it was great. The chicken in the enchilada was full of moist white meat. Hubby also got a beef enchilada with Chile con carne sauce - great choice in his opinion. And we both tried the Tupy taco...loved it! Reminded me of tacos we'd get in Arizona. We will be back! Glad we discovered Tupy's!

FOOD: Food and drinks are outstanding. SERVICE: Out of the several times that we've been to Tupy's, we've only found one (1) semi-pleasant server. From hostesses to servers, staff members at Tupy's appear to be very unhappy. It's like they are robots. Never a warm, welcoming smile or interaction with guests. Never heard a "Welcome to Tupy's" or "Thank you for coming to Tupy's!" Since the apathy is common across the various jobs/positions, it appears to be a poor management or training issue. I hope owners find these reviews useful. AMBIANCE: Music is waaaay too loud; unable to hold a conversation.

The staff have worked there for a while, and this restaurant has other locations and has been in business since 1990. Rhey are all very nice and helpful. The food portions were ample and tasty but lacking the spices to make it memorable. For the pricepoint, which is descent, I'm willing to return again & just add salt and pepper and get past it, but I don't picture returning as a regular. And I really wanted that to be the case. They have a decent happy hour. Food and drinks. I may try other food and see what happens. The margaritas were good. The building is in a Spanish style, and I like the old world feel. They keep the music going so it's fun.

I love this place! It's very inexpensive! My son and I go there and order the Tupy Tacos. It's a pan fried taco that is simply amazingly. We order queso and a small guacamole. Bill came to $30

Tupy's does not deny! Combo x4. Puffy taco, guiso de res burrito (carne sauce), Tupy taco and guac salad. No more than $15. Both tacos held together to the end and their picadillo is spot on. Couldn't be happier for a Dallas original and nostalgic tex-mex feast. Pint sized top shelf margs are only $9.50! Damn! Tupy's is comin' with the fierceness!

Always good. The Drinks are strong. The service is amazing. The food is all good from the salsa to the queso and right on to their Tuppy's Tacos that are as original as any around.

Visit the location during lunch on Friday approximately around 2pm. The wait was minimal. The service was great - the server was professional and attentive. The ambiance is casual, your topical Tex- mex atmosphere, booths, wall murals,etc. Although. The food presentation was great, it didn't quite deliver on taste. The steak was supposed to be am 8oz ribeye, it was like a flank cut, the four nacho chips were entirely too cheesy for my liking. The enchilada was all cheese with entirely too much Molé sauce. I was so hoping the food was tasty since this place always seems to have a full house. I might give it a second try...

Went here with a friend for happy hour. The food was great and the margarita was delicious. Will definitely return for a full meal with my family.

This is one of my favorite Frisco tex-mex spots. We typically go around dinner time and find the wait to be typical or slightly less busy than other local tex-mex places - just depends on the day. When we have gone for lunch, it has not been too busy and they have some great lunch specials. My favorite items on the menu are the sour cream cheese enchiladas & sangria swirl. The flavors in the sangria swirl are well balanced and the drink is the perfect combination of sweet and refreshing. I also enjoy their chips & salsa. We oftentimes order their special salsa which is also fun to try. Our waitstaff is normally nice and attentive. Overall, I highly recommend Tupy's for their delicious drinks and tex-mex. The Sangria Swirl is a must-try!

This place is really really good! I can eat Mexican food every single day so I try a lot of places and finally came here. It's been on my list for a while but I always forget about it because it's kind of hidden. But I won't forget it now. The food is so good. I've been back now a few times. I usually only get to go food so I can't say how the dine in experience is but the to go experience is easy enough. It definitely gets busy at dinner time so I would plan for that

Dining at Tupy's was such a fun experience. We were a party of 4 and all ordered off the Lunch Menu of $8.99 which included our iced tea, Boy what deal!!! With prices like that you need to leave a hefty tip, which we did. Our food & service were both excellent. The orders from the menu were the Tupy tacos, beef quesadillas, chicken fajita salad and pork carnitas... which were all tasty. We definitely will be returning!!!

Swirls are always tasty and the food is consistently good. We will definitely return.

The food is very good and the service is pretty good as well. However, they do not offer any salsa that is MILD. The mild salsa they serve is hot and they say it's mild. So their salsa is terrible. They make chips and salsa experience , not enjoyable. Not everyone can eat spicy salsa.

A nice Tex Mex place. Love the ranchera sauce and they have great seasoning on their fajita chicken and steak.

We have eaten there twice. The first time a roach crawled across the table. While the food was good, I am giving a 1 in all categories to rate this establishment. Went there a second time yesterday to give another chance. What appeared? Another roach on the wall this time. Who knows what lurks in the kitchen. In case you are wondering if it was reported and if our meal was comped. They offered a free dessert. We won't be returning and I hope anyone reading this will ask yourself if you prefer to dine with roaches. Disgusting.

I am not a Tex-Mex fan so believe me, I was very surprised to be turned on to Tupy's. Their food is much more like the Mexican food I love! They are very accommodating and have such a variety of sauces and meats. My husband and I have tried multiple dishes and can say we have loved every one. Also, the chips and salsa are great! This is our spot for a meal out!

Great meal, great service, great vibe. Margarita was perfect (mine), though wife's said hers was basically straight tequila. Maybe ease up on that a smidge (she got the jalepeno).

From the greeters to the wait staff . R they are annoyed to assist ands pro code service to the customers . Food is great if you dont mind the attitudes off the staff

PLEASE READ: long story short, we left because of a COCKROACH running around on our table. the manager said this hasn't been an issue but had pest control out this past monday? he snatched the roach off of our table quickly and ushered us out to not make a scene.

This is my regular lunch spot. The food and service are always good. Tupy tacos and margaritas are my favorite.

The lunch specials here are insane! Fast, cheap, and delicious! Plus they come with iced tea. Our server was so sweet, too. Will definitely be back!

We started with the Shelby Metcalf queso which was very good. The salsa and chips are also better than some other Mexican restaurants in the area. I had the carnitas lunch special and the hubs had chicken fajitas. We both agreed the carnitas were amazing!!!! Would definitely order again. You may notice a mesquite flavor with the chicken fajitas which makes it less of my favorite but that's just personal preference. I would order a side of peppers and onion to go with my carnitas next time. The peppers and onions with the fajitas are what really make that dish. Tupy's has some great daily specials and what looks like a good happy hour. We visited on a Wednesday and they had a mojito special. I lucked out since that's my favorite!!!

Hate to see it. This place has awesome food, the closest to authentic tasting Mexican food as you can get in Frisco. Their drinks are delicious and cheap, but there is just one problem...they overcharge you. If you go just be prepared to be billed for extra items particularly for drinks. Has happened every time we have been there. Then when the bill comes the waiter will play like they have no clue what you are talking about then "struggle" to fix it. They will act like they don't understand you because of the language barrier. I heard our waiting laughing to the kitchen staff about our ticket, so I had to politely remind our waiter that I speak Spanish and tell him in Spanish that our ticket was still wrong and to correct it. Bottom line is, it's a scam they are running. Cheap drinks so they charge you for extras here and there so you don't notice or don't care enough to complain. They will play like they don't understand when you call them out on it. So definitely check your bill when it hits the table, but even then they are probably going to keep messing it up (fixing it) where you get annoyed enough to just pay it and leave. If you go here, only order food.

Our third visit and the service and food have been consistently outstanding. My favorite place for tacos, queso (Shelby Metcalf!) and margaritas.

My sister, her best friend and I decided to have a quick lunch here. Our waiter was super nice and attentive. The food was super delicious. I ordered the number 1 combo. I read it but I didn't realize how much food it actually was! Lol and literally everything on the plate was freaking amazing! I honestly could've stayed in there and ate so much more of my tummy just would let me be great, but since I got full I couldn't do that lol I also ordered a mojito, which was okay... but I never drink those anyway I thought I'd just venture out instead of my normal margarita. My sister however had their strawberry margarita and thought it was auhmazing. So needless to say I know which drink I'm getting next time! I can't wait to go back and explore more of the menu!

1 star only because the OWNER made it a bad experience. Being new to the area I was so excited to try this place! My friends and family have raves about it. I have to agree, The food and staff was absolutely amazing. However, It's evident that there are several layers of leadership between the owner and the staff. We asked him a simple question after seeing him interact with several other White/Caucasian customers and he treated us as though we were beneath him to ask a simple question. Im not one to play the "race card" but really disappointing to be excited about supporting small business and the OWNER treat you so poorly. The service from the staff was fantastic as was the food but hope you never encounter the Owner.

I have been a patron of Tupy's for years. I go there with family, with friends, and on business. The food is tasty and consistent time after time. The drinks are a good value (strong margaritas!), at a reasonable price. The staff has virtually no turnover: I've known the same servers there for years. They are all friendly, efficient, and professional. I recommend Tupy's to everyone! I LOVE TUPY'S!

They have carne guisada! This epic restaurant still has $10 lunch specials and you get plenty to eat. They have plenty of choices and it is fresh. The only hit against the restaurant is they don't make their own tortillas but with the food being quite good, you can overlook this. The service is first class. When they greet you at the door, they take your to your seating place and fawn over you. They constantly check in on you to see if you need anything. If your are in the mood for Mexican food, this writer would highly suggest this establishment.

Worst Margarita I have had in 20 or more. Guys find a better mixer. Chips were good salsa not so much. Our waiter was very nice. We left with full margaritas on the table. Yes we still paid for them.

We have been wanting to check out this spot for a few years now. We arrived late on a Friday night and it was still hopping, which told me- good sign! We were seated in the back of ten back-back against the door to fire exit, so sweat, we had a big crowd. Our server was non existent for a hot minute but were able to get some waters and and chips and salsa. We devoured the salsa which had a kick but so tasty. I order us some queso but we needed more chips, after asking another young man and our server- no luck. He informed us that they had run out, but didn't tell us until he brought the chips 30 minutes later. Food took even longer, no water refills, no drink refills, no tortillas as requested. I know we were a bit more impatient because of the kidos we had with us, but not even water refills was a bit disappointing. The food was typical Tex mex, nothing outstanding. The queso was good and I enjoyed it. Again, service is huge for me, and they let us down.
