Turtle Boat - Colorado Poki Salads

I am obsessed with Turtle Boat Poke. The customer service was so above and beyond my expectations. They were all so nice and patient, helpful with explaining how things work (and not giving you attitude when you ask questions) offered information of what they recommend… I was blown away with how friendly the service was! They try to use local ingredients as often as possible making it a more sustainable option- as well as biodegradable and compostable to-go containers. The food was absolutely delicious. I cannot wait to go back. If you’re curious about what toppings go well together, they’ll guide you along the way. We had the “full boat” as it was recommended and gives you a little bit of everything. They have a beverage fridge filled with amazing local options. Plus a dog friendly, outdoor patio seating area. 10/10 will be back asap!

This place is amazing and I would recommend to all who love poke and want to support a small local business. The brothers who own the shop are running the FOH (front of house), engaging with their guest, explaining how and where they source their ingredients, and sharing their passion behind what they do. They were super friendly, had great recommendations, and it made me appreciate each bite all the more because I knew the ingredients were mostly locally sourced and quality foods. The mix of the flavors was so good and it was the perfect amount of food, not leaving me hungry or grossly full. Go here if you want a unique, quality, local experience with delicious poke.

Denver has a lot of great food and Turtle Boat is among those restaurants. I was overwhelmed by the options, but their staff was so helpful and built me a bowl that was one of the best meals I had during my time in Denver. I had a poke bowl with bass and red trout, the works (for both the toppings and such). So many flavors, textures. Everything was super fresh. The taro salad was delicious as was the slaw. I will definitely be going back.

As someone from Hawaii, I was so stoked to find this spot and even more stoked with how amazing the food was! They’re dairy free, and it honestly doesn’t even taste like it which is something I haven’t experienced before. Staff is very kind and helpful explaining the salads. Absolutely coming back and gonna recommend them to close friends and family

First time trying poke so I was a little nervous but the employees were very patient and walked me through. I got the snack option which is perfect for people who tend to get full quickly. It was absolutely delicious and I would eat here again!

Not only one of the best Poki spots in Denver, one of the best restaurants in Denver. This spot is unique, and the difference between this and your average poke spot is astounding. Turtle Boat puts an emphasis on their ingredient sourcing. They care about the quality of the fish they are serving and are knowledgeable about what they are serving too. The customization is crazy and the staff enjoy customizing each order to your taste. I went with the Arctic Charr, Striped Bass (From Alamosa, CO), and Rainbow Trout. All freshwater options so they don’t have to be transported as far. Cannot say enough good things about this place. It truly is an above and beyond establishment, will be back many times.

The food and selection of unique toppings (and fish I have never seen in other poke spots) is a huge differentiator from other poke places. Only reason for 1 star off is portion size. More expensive and smaller portion than most other places. Perhaps due to higher quality of ingredients, but was still hungry after a regular size bowl (wife agreed too).

It was great meeting the two brothers. I love the option of healthy food that tastes great. They have a great mission to provide healthy, sustainable, and responsible food. Many best wishes to the Turtle Boat team.

This was my second time to Turtle Boat. The first time was when they first opened and I was new to poke and only liking Poke City style poke. This second go around I really enjoyed Turtle Boat so much more. I loved that they had more unique fish and toppings options, some of which were local. The portion also felt huge! My cons were I really didn't love that they used fake crab for their crab salad and though everything was fresh it really lacked depth of flavor. Maybe I should have tried 2 sauces rather than just the spicy Mayo to bring things together better!

The food is very good and original. I wish they had indoor dining space, there are a few tables outside but I doubt they are usable during the winter, and there is not enough shade during summer. Many people just take out, but personally I'm still kind of old school I guess, I still love to dine in.

Lexi & I went here yesterday for dinner, and it was amazing! A truly special place with delicious food and ethically sourced fish (approved by Monterey Bay Aquarium) We got the chance to meet one of the owners and he was filled with knowledge and candor. The service overall was awesome! It is located on S Broadway and is a small building that really stands out! We will definitely be coming back here not just for the food but for the wonderful service and atmosphere! Dan & Lexi

Good is fresh food is delicious if you want to build your own poke bowl! It's phenomenal! Service is quick and fast, thoughtful! Ambiance- there's not much here, they do not have seating inside, so that's a bummer if I don't want to sit outside. Outside is very limiting seating too. If I want to go here I need to be okay with grabbing to go too as sometimes all the tables are full! Which is okay because there's something to be said when this is an all the time occurrence. I do wish- regular drinks were available they have healthy alternative sodas, teas and lemonade but I wouldn't mind having bottled water available in the event I forget mine. So just something you wanna be mindful of. But the food i love!

Just plopped into town and it was the first cuisine experience for a a group of 4 -- and everyone was thrilled. Delicious! Sustainable fish -- 5 stars! Amazing toppings. Outside seating. LOVE it. Want to take this back home with me to San Francisco! Thanks Turtle Boat!

The food was fresh and well prepared. There were a few items that they did not have - like a spicy salmon or spicy tuna mix. They do not offer any tuna. Which is a favorite fish of mine. They do have a few variety of trout, but I'm not a big freshwater raw fish fan. That said, after we selected our fish (salmon) and arctic char and added sauces and other poke add-ins, the end result was tasty. It's worth a stop. It may turn out that it's really to your taste.

The service here cannot be beat. Patient, kind and helpful. Love that you don't have to pay extra to have all the toppings added. Just order the "full boat". Awesome options for vegan and vegetarians too. Best place in Denver to get poke!!!

Overall it was good. Staff was super friendly and helpful since it was our first time. Solid portion amount for the regular size but I think I personally like a good ratio of just the base and fish. I ended up getting rainbow trout and striped bass as my protein, picked a variety of vegetable toppings, yuzu vinaigrette as my sauce, added most of the aromatic and crunchy toppings, kani and seaweed salad to top it off. It was good quality fish and toppings but the sauce was really lacking that yuzu kinda punch and also would have also been nice to have a little sauce or seasoning on the rice. The sauce on my girlfriends order was really good though (spicy mayo and house sauce together)

I was overly pleased with the quality of the poke they are serving up over here. A bit pricey but you get a chance I'd highly recommend.

He's a 2 but gets lunch at Turtle Boat! It doesn't get better than this, isn't just something I tell myself in the mirror to make me feel better as an affirmation but is also true about the quality of food and service here!!!

Always a fresh, local fish option! #1 reason why I come here. It's a small joint and you know you're supporting local. Their greens are usually locally sourced too. Great pricing for good portion sizes. This is the snack size but I never finish it! Amazing place deff give it a try!

Yum, yum, yum! I went with my family and had a great meal! They had easy parking in the back and we had great service! The two guys working walked us through every step and were happy to explain what everything was! Pro tip- the seaweed is a MUST and the potato concoction is a hard pass. All the fish was super fresh and delicious! I definitely would come back! A couple things I didn't like- you have to buy a water bottle/can't get a water cup, only outdoor seating, and the trash can outside was aggressively overflowing.

The best poke!!! Delicious and amazing every time. So many interesting / non traditional toppings and protein choices. They also are very thoughtful about being sustainable and local (local fish choices, local beverages, compostable bags, etc).

As a vegan who doesn't like tofu, finding a poke place can be challenging. Turtle Boat was recommended to me as just a poke place, but when I checked out their site and learned about all their vegan options, I had to try it! Their staff was very helpful in explaining all the different vegan options and what they were made of. Every item has a respective V for vegan, GF for gluten free, and/or SF for soy free sticker next to it so you can make easy choices based on your dietary needs or preferences. The amount of food you get for the price is good! It's all high quality and fresh. The pickled ginger is amazing, all the diverse toppings work together nicely. I really enjoyed my meal, it had good heat without being overpowering and all the layers of fresh, crunchy, fermented, tangy flavors was lovely! I will definitely be back!

I took my three young adult children and they all loved this place. Everything was very good. The staff were very helpful. We sat outside on a partially covered patio. The sea bass, the hearts and thoughts salad, the spicy Mayo (ask for extra), the potato salad, the seaweed dust.... All good.

Soooooo fresh and so clean clean! Food is so good. Such a well thought out menu and high quality food. The portion size is good too.

I went in hungry and confused as to why my frequented poke spot was closed at 1:00 pm. That's a common lunch hour after all! Never the matter, Turtle Boat satisfied my grumbling belly and has won my business. The seafood and veggies are noticeably fresher, and much more delectable. You guys are a treat! Got a recommendation from a coworker that this place has really unique fish options, and he was right on the money. Arctic char, tako, rainbow trout and more were available for order. I love the varieties of salads and toppings for your bowls. I ordered the TROUT AND SALMON LARGE BOWL OVER WHITE RICE W SEAWEED AND CRAB SALAD W HOUSE SAUCE. Great flavors but I wished there was more of a pop of flavors. Everything individually was fresh but the house sauce that was supposed to tie everything together was bland. I wished there was more fish in my bowl as well. Def want to try this place a second time and add an extra protein scoop.

It must be my fault that I did not read the reviews carefully... Because this is just a pokey place. That wasn't clear to me from reading about it. I thought I was going to a restaurant with a huge selection of vegetables... Something sort of healthy Also when we arrived there was a struggle to find the restaurant. This is the only poke spot I've found with original sauces that really gives this dish a good kick. Unlike others, this one has a unique flavor and other toppings to give more flavor and texture. I actually don't remember what I ordered, but remembered being excited about the creative options and the positive customer service.

Owned by two brothers, you can tell how much they care about their business. They try to locally sourced most things, and I think it is the best poke place in Denver. They're also very gluten-free friendly.

What a great spot! The staff was very friendly and willing to offer suggestions for good flavor combinations. The bowl ingredients was fresh and had a little kick of spice. The person preparing my dish also pointed out the sustainability of their local ingredients. I had the bass and all the mix ins. The salad was a nice break from lots of rice. Spicy edamame and a little potato salad were fun to try, too. The ambiance was hip - graffiti outside with tables for some fresh air. A few seats inside, but nothing fancy.

I didn't like this place and didn't care for the owners who I felt like were giving me a lecture as I tried to order. The poke was really different than all the poke I've had previously. It was also surprisingly expensive.

This place was nuts. Really beautifully decorated and it's easy to order even though I had trouble hearing the guy making my bowl. All of the ingredients are fresh and of great quality for a decent price. The options are insane and most everything is made in-house. The menu is labeled with gf, vegan, etc so you know what you're getting if you have a food allergy. I love not having to ask. The owner was incredibly friendly and seemed very proud of the restaurant, as he should be! If I'm ever back in Denver, I'd be happy to stop here again!

I would truly eat here every single day if I had the funds and energy to drive here each day lmao... I am so impressed with these brothers who run this local business! They support other local businesses from supplies, to retail, to events, to fundraisers. They care about the earth and our environment as a community. The mission is the major part but the food is simply outstanding! Please give all of their options a try as you will experience something new each time if you wish! With nearly endless variations to customize anyone who eats here will be so happy. Yet feeling light and at peace! They make a trout soup sometimes and omg if you see it get it! Well. Get any soup really! VERY CELIAC AND GLUTEN FRIENDLY!!!!

Not only is the food STILL amazing, but I am stunned by their support of the local community amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. Today, Turtle Boat was giving out free soup to folks, no questions asked. They gave you an option on bathe order form to donate, and those proceeds are going to support nurses and hospitality/food service professionals. I know Turtle Boat's business is hurting right now too, so it really warms my heart to see them continuing to give back to the local community. Thanks for the generosity Turtle Boat! The staff was extremely helpful and patient in explaining the options to us and the bowl we got at the end was fresh and tasty! The texture and flavors were impressive. I must say I was really happy with my first ever bowl of poke! Murals on the outside are pretty cool too!

We went here for a slightly late Saturday lunch after running some errands. We managed to find a parking spot at the back of this tiny establishment. Once we enter Turtle Boat, we are greeted promptly and straight away go to the counter to order our food aka "Chipotle" style. The staffs who handled our transactions, answered all our questions with regards to the menu. My friend opt to have the snack size ($7.99) and Izze can beverage ($1.49), while I opt for the large size bowl ($13.99) with 3 proteins and 3 different types of salads, that you can choose. As for beverage, I opt to purchase a can of Coconut Juice ($2.25) which you can get at the refrigerated section on the left wing of the Ordering Counter. In terms of the portions, its doable.. but for what you get in terms of proteins, its limited for my taste bud, hence this 3 stars painful heartfelt review. There is a water dispenser (self-service) if you want at the back of this establishment located next to the washroom and other disposable cutlery. Turtle Boat is tiny though they are kept clean at all times. There are patio seating available outside Turtle Boat itself. I finished my lunch, coz I was "starving"... But maybe due to the fact, there aren't much of variety, I just go with the flow. The service from the staffs are indeed stellar. That alone received 4 stars in my books. To return its a maybe, and I hope they can offer many more variety options that can call my name err in this case my rumbling tummy as I wrote this review. Best Poké balls in all of Denver, love this place. They have fresh, locally, sourced ingredients, and it is always delicious!

I woke up craving poke today and as luck would have it I happened to be in the south Broadway area! I had heard friends rave about Turtle Boat so I knew I had to stop in and fulfill the craving! Turtle Boat is a cute little spot with lots of local options which I think is pretty cool! Portions are quite nice as you can see. Everything was tasty and fresh! There are a lot of customizable options so you can make your bowl however your little heart desires! I'll definitely be back whenever I am in the neighborhood!

Highly recommend coming to Turtle Boat and supporting this local small business. The food was great, the service was fantastic. I'm writing this review before I even eat my food, the service was just too good and has made me an immediate recurring customer because of how well I felt taken care of by the server who I'm assuming was the owner.

We are fairly new to the neighborhood and today was our first time trying after hearing great things from friends. Staff was incredibly kind, explaining in detail as we were new. So many options, the regular portion was generous, and our orders were delicious. Will be back often!
