Love this character meal! I’ve been here 3 times twice for lunch/dinner and once for breakfast. Every time the food has been good and it’s a buffet so everyone can choose what they want. There is a lot of variety of food. The character interactions are so fun, they play a song and the characters go around the restaurant and dance as everyone is clapping to the beat. We really liked the juice at breakfast.

Google
Awesome family style all you can eat character lunch or dinner. We had the late lunch and the food was surprisingly good. The atmosphere is enjoyable and it’s always a good time. We will be back! :)

We had reservations for dinner and almost $500 later left hungry. The buffet had a few good items like the ginger carrot soup and salmon and my MIL loved the Nan bread but besides that the flavors and the food were not to our liking but let’s be honest we were only there to meet the characters and goofy did not disappoint! He was very interactive and did an entire dance with a stick for us! The whole place felt dark and heavy and the kids had some desserts and after we got our photos we left and had dinner outside the park somewhere.

Google
Everything here was great! The characters come by multiple times and hug the kids, sign autographs, and just have fun with the kids. The food was amazing, very delicious and was not crowded at all. They have a very good system here!

Definitely a place to go and eat all you want and get all the major disney characters that come to your table and take photos and do autographs while you eat. Super fun, and have a guide for food allergies. They had gluten-free desserts but went above and beyond and had gluten-free cookies in the back they brought out for me. Highly recommend

Google
Ah, Tusker House, home of my favorite buffet on Disney World property! They have a great breakfast buffet to 10:30am where you get typical breakfast items but I think lunch and dinner is where it’s at. All foods have an African inspired twist to it, and there are so many options! Pork tenderloin, jerk chicken, beef tagine, shrimp curry, assortment of salads, breads, dips, and sides! I could go on! Just another reason why Animal Kingdom is my favorite park because of yummy food places like Tiffin’s, Yak and Yeti, and Tusker House. The best part is you get to meet Mickey, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy in their safari outfits and every 30 mins they do a cute party singalong. This place has become a regular stop for me whenever I’m in AK!

Google
Tusker House has become a must-do for our family on every trip to Animal Kingdom. We absolutely love this buffet—I’d even argue it’s one of the best buffets we’ve tried at Disney! The variety of food is outstanding, with options that go beyond the typical buffet fare. Everything is thoughtfully curated to match the African-inspired theme of the restaurant, and it’s both adventurous and approachable for all ages. The atmosphere is vibrant and immersive, and meeting the characters in their safari gear adds an extra spark of magic. Our kids love the character interactions, and we’ve made some of our most joyful memories there. The servers are always so friendly and welcoming, going out of their way to make each visit feel special. Whether it’s a birthday celebration or just a relaxed family meal, the team at Tusker House helps create moments we won’t forget. As a family that’s been coming to Disney for generations—starting with trips to our home resort at Old Key West—Tusker House has become one of those places where we continue to build lasting memories. Great food, warm service, and Disney magic all wrapped into one unforgettable dining experience.

Google
We absolutely loved the food there! And we had such an amazing time with the character interactions. Even though we were two adults, they really took the time to engage and interact with us. The food was delicious, there was an incredible variety and the spicy dishes were actually spicy!!! You can’t beat the price with both buffet and character dining at Disney. It was $62 per person, our waiter was super attentive and made sure that our glasses were never empty. I loved the bottomless Jungle (POG) juice!

Yelp
Tusker House is one of the best character dining options on WDW property. Breakfast is always very delicious by buffet standards. The menu is African themed, with plenty of standard American options intertwined throughout. Highlights include the chicken curry, the tater tots (OMG the tater tots), and the corn puree. Every table is served a delicious tropical flavored juice, free flowing coffee, and a side of that good 'ole friendly Disney service. You dine in a what is meant to be an old African safari dining hall. Fits well with theme. Characters at Tusker House include Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Mickey - though at our breakfast Goofy was inexplicably absent for some reason. If you can tolerate the price of a Disney character meal, Tusker House is a great option.

Melissa B.

Yelp
Oh my gosh! The best experience! The character dining was top notch! The kids enjoyed the typical Mac and cheese and chicken. The adults, we absolutely loved the spicy meatballs! The banana pudding was yummy!

Jenna B.

Yelp
We love Disney! We love character experiences while eating. The best thing about this restaurant in our opinion was the characters. There isn't much else that we were overly impressed with. Out of all the restaurants we've been to since being Disney pass holders both quick service, sit down, or character dining, this was by far one of the least preferred. The other is at MK. My husband liked the rice a lot, that was it. We do have a wheat allergy in our family, and they provided us with an allergen menu, but there was no flair or anything that stuck out to make us want to go again. We're a family of 4. 3/4 of us didn't care for this dining experience.

Ruben B.

Yelp
I honestly have no complaints. I have visited here about 3 times for breakfast and just a couple weeks ago I was there for dinner. The food has always been amazing. I love that they provide some American classics but lean into the African dishes. It is great to sample the different food without feeling like you have committed to something that you may not like. Breakfast I would say is about 50% American food and 50% African food. For dinner I feel like it was more 70% African and about 30% American. Which I was more than ok with. Almost all of the dishes were amazing. And the ones that weren't my favorites were not necessarily bad. They just were normal dishes that didn't blow my mind but were still very good. Perhaps other people would enjoy those dishes because they were definitely not bad. I had to cancel my reservation at Sanaa and was bummed that I would miss the bread service and the chance to try some different food. But once I ate here I felt like it definitely made up for that experience. I felt like I was able to try the same type of food just in a different atmosphere. There were lots of breads and dips to choose from which made up for missing the bread service. Character dining wise, I think it is a must. The characters are in Safari gear. Very cute. I do want to say that the characters don't seem to rushed in the morning but they do need to get around to everyone. But what I enjoyed about dinner is that there was less people and the characters hung out with the kids a bit longer. If you would like your kids to have more time with the characters I think dinner would be a great option. I will definitely be coming here again. It has become one of my favorite things to do at Disney World.

Liyang S.

Yelp
This is Disney character dining at its finest. Marvel at the bountiful buffet jam packed with African inspired flavors; hug Mickey, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy as they visit your tables; watch as they dance and parade around the place, all for your viewing pleasure. Food wise, it's nom nom good! I think Boma edges this place out by a hair, but the characters more than make up for the difference. Be prepared to shell out some though; it ain't cheap. And don't be a Scrooge with the tips, or Donald will come and get you.

Yelp
**Character Dining at Tusker House, Safari-Themed Buffet** For our first meal after arriving in Orlando and heading to Animal Kingdom, we booked a 4:35 PM dinner at Tusker House. The restaurant features a safari-themed interior and menu, and it's a fantastic spot for those who love character interactions. During our dining, Mickey, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy all made appearances in turns. They made sure we had satisfying experiences in taking photos together. The four characters also came together for a group dance at set times, adding a lively touch to the dining experience. The interaction level here was high, making it a great choice for families or anyone who enjoys getting photos and spending time with Disney characters. If you're looking for a quieter meal, the characters are considerate and won't intrude. We had dined here during the pandemic and found the food quality to be just as good as before. While the variety is slightly less compared to the Boma Buffet at Animal Kingdom Lodge, which also focuses on African flavors, the convenience of dining in the park makes up for it. **Dining Times and Pricing (2024/7):** - **Character appearances:** Breakfast, lunch, and dinner - **Breakfast:** 8:00 AM - 10:30 AM - **Lunch:** 11:00 AM - 3:30 PM - **Dinner:** 3:35 PM - 6:00 PM - **Pricing:** - **Breakfast:** $47 adults / $30 children - **Lunch & Dinner:** $62 adults / $40 children Overall, I recommend this restaurant and definitely will come back.

Yelp
We had an amazing experience at the Tusker House! The food was delicious with a great variety of African-inspired dishes and classic favorites. But the real highlight was the character interaction! My daughter absolutely loved meeting Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, Mickey Mouse, and Goofy. They were so friendly and made the whole experience magical. The atmosphere was lively, and the staff were super accommodating. A perfect spot for families, especially if you're looking to enjoy great food and unforgettable character moments. Make those reservations beforehand!

James H.

Yelp
A popular dining attraction in AK. I prefer the breakfast over the lunch menu simply because breakfast has more familiar options. The staff do try hard to get the characters to visit each table often asking the guest to not get food till the characters come by. Service is good but they cover a lot of tables so be patient. It's one of the more kid-centric character dining so it's loud and full of chatter. Overall, yes for breakfast, maybe for lunch.

Guillermo G.

Yelp
This was the first restaurant we had to snide the Disney parks. It set the bar real high for the others. The buffet was awesome. So many great options. I ended getting a bit of everything in multiple trips. So many flavors. To top it off you get a visit from some of the characters. This was a great choice. Depending on when you go reservations are recommended.

Gleicyane G.

Yelp
This was probably my favorite dining experience during our Disney vacation. I was unsure at first because I did t know anything about it, but I'm glad we did it because it exceeded my expectations and more. I loved that it was a buffet, but not your typical buffet. This was more exotic being African inspired. There were so many delicious looking options I had to try all. They were all excellent. It was also very nice to have Goofy, Donald, Daisy, and Mickey visit the table. Our son loved it.

Sara B.

Yelp
The food at Tusker House was unbelievable and totally proved me wrong -- a meal at a Disney Park (and a buffet meal at that) can be a high quality dining experience. Everything was SO good, they had SO much selection and everything was fresh and beautifully presented. The food is African / Indian inspired so think lots of fragrant dishes with spices like roasted pork and jollof, creative salads, naans and a variety of other breads, curries and lots of other meat and rice dishes to enjoy. There was also plenty for kids like mac and cheese, corn dogs, etc. And of course, a ton of mouthwatering desserts! You can find alcohol here, and we loved the sangria. Service was great. Even though it's buffet style our server was super attentive. And finally, the absolute highlight of the meal - the characters. Goofy, Mickey, Donald and Daisy are waltzing around in their safari gear. My 2 year old has honestly never been happier. She just would not let go of that hug. What a special treat, and a must if you visit Animal Kingdom. We will be back!

Sofyan S.

Yelp
Food (4/5): For $62 plus tip and tax this is quite an expensive experience. The buffet items were average and not particularly special. We tried to focus on the meats like the steak, salmon, beef, curry shrimp, and tandoori chicken to make the meal more worth it. Service (4/5): Very busy restaurant where we needed to check in to our reservation and then wait a bit for a second text that took 30 minutes before it was ready. The representatives were trying to be helpful but quite slammed. The whole situation seemed like a cluster of confusion. They didn't check up on us too frequently but the characters stopped by a decent amount. Ambiance (4/5): It's a buffet setup with characters walking around various areas. There are a good amount of seats everywhere. There is a rustic African house vibe with tarps hanging from the ceiling.

Dru Z.

Yelp
Try to get a reservation about an hour before lunch service, that way you can enjoy some of the breakfast items before they transition over to lunch. I thought that the food overall was pretty good, considering it is a buffet. But make no mistake about it, you're paying for the privilege of having Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Daisy visit your table in their cute safari outfits and take pictures. There is a reason they won't be prancing around outside the park for "free."

Lauren L.

Yelp
The best part of this restaurant is the character experience! They come by so many times when it's less crowded and you can get as many pictures as you want! The food, to me, is not my favorite...that is not because it is not made well. I don't thoroughly enjoy curry and there is a lot of that with this type of cuisine. That does not mean the food is not good. There are MANY choices. Endless buffet. Endless desserts. I did really like the desserts, especially the chocolate mousse. I also enjoyed the bread varieties. I left very full of food and full of joy. Our waitress was awesome, she took pictures for us and came by very often. It wasn't too loud or busy and it was a very calm and enjoyable time. Definitely check this place out!

Charmyra F.

Yelp
My family was recently vacationing in Orlando, FL, and we visited Disney's Animal Kingdom. We made early dinner reservations and it was delicious! The character experience was wonderful for our small children. They loved it! The service was awesome! Our waiter, "Justin" was super helpful with suggestions on the drinks and food. I had the "Lost on Safari" and my husband had one of the African beers. My drink was strong but good. The food was really good, but it has been a long time since I've gone to a buffet. I don't really like buffets because, I don't feel like I get my money's worth because, you can't eat but so much food. I get full after eating one plate. So it's a waste of money for me. With all of that said, the food was good and I left stuffed.

Jessica M.

Yelp
We had the best experience here. The food was great and our server was the best out of all the places in Disney we went. I wish I could remember her name. I want to say she was Korean. She had the best personality and made us laugh our whole visit. It was my nieces birthday and she loved getting to meet all the characters. There was plenty to choose from on the buffet and everything I had was great. The restaurant was big and open, clean. The characters came out and danced. It was so fun! I highly recommend this place! And the breakfast juice was so yummy!

Nicola M.

Yelp
Buffet provides an array of delicious foods! They have a nice selection for the kids too. Mac and cheese was amazing. Loved the shrimp curry! Dessert bar wasn't my cup of tea but others enjoyed it. I really enjoyed the characters coming to the table to take pictures.

Minnie L.

Yelp
The African inspired buffet in Animal Kingdom is wonderful. You also get to meet several characters at this dining establishment. Favorites include the Ethiopian beef curry stew with black eye peas, carrot ginger soup, green pea curry shrimp, and the various salads Our server was amazing and quickly refilled our glasses of Pog juice as it was unlimited refills. Very attentive and friendly. The ambiance is beautiful, it feels like you're in an upscale African restaurant and one dining rioom resembled a more African village.

Noemi S.

Yelp
This restaurant is located in Animal Kingdom (reservation recommended) great service and good food for a buffet. It is a character dinning experience. I have been wanting to try this restaurant and I liked it.

Cindy C.

Yelp
Tusker house has delicious buffets but you pay premium price for eating with Disney characters. They kept our little guy entertained throughout the meal. Some of the meats were dry but overall very delicious food options including vegetarian entrees. They also had meat carvings. Lots of choices on dessert tables too. Bit pricy but highly highly recommended!

brb b.

Yelp
Yes, it was extremely expensive for buffet food, but the smile on the kids' faces when interacting with the characters was worth every penny. Also, the food was delicious. I didn't expect to like it this much, but for a Disney buffet, it was terrific. I don't even like spicy stuff, so I was afraid that i wouldn't be able to find anything, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Jodi V.

Yelp
The food was so much better this time than the last time, I was here! Green burry shrimp, salmon, chicken! Service is so fun with dancing characters all around.

Solomon K.

Yelp
Ambiance: great indoor and themed buffet restaurant in animal kingdom. I've always walked past by the building, not knowing what was inside! After finally getting reservations (recommend in advance), we experienced the infamous character dining + extensive buffet. Food/service: our dining reservation was at 4:30 pm, right before the dinner rush. The majority of our meal time was pretty quiet but around 5:30 the restaurant quickly started to fill up. The wait staff and our server were amazing and nothing less than what you role expect from Disney. Our waitress jelly was incredibly nice and efficient. They also made sure to notify us when characters would walk through the room. In terms of food, though on the pricier side of ~55$ per person, the offerings and variety is easily in the top 5 eateries within the Disney parks. They have a great salads, hot foods, desert and dedicated bread station. A small carving station is also present, and during our day they were serving pork and beef/lamb shawarma with a separate staton to create pita sandwiches. The food is mostly influenced by African care but has something for everybody. Obviously it is a buffet where they serve masses of people so some items may be dry/under or over seasoned, but overall did not have a significant complaint about any food item. For buffet standards, very well done. Worth it factor: if good unlimited food and character dining is important/bucket list agenda, 10/10 worth it.

Pamela S.

Yelp
Good food for both foodies and picky eaters! Tusker House is a character dining restaurant that is served buffet style. The offerings here are well balanced with African fare, as well as simple foods like a salad bar, Mac n cheese, and roasted chicken. Some of my favorites were the black eyed pea salad, the za'tar braised beef, and the harira soup. Everything was seasoned to perfection and my kids were happy with the corn dogs, mashed potatoes, and Mac and cheese. Being lactose intolerant, I did wish there were more than one offering of dairy-free desserts. Pro-tip: make a breakfast reservation for 10:30/10:45 and you can enjoy both breakfast and lunch items and be charged the breakfast price.

Phuong N.

Yelp
Omg I loved it here. It was our first time. The place is very spacious and the food was surprisingly good though not a huge buffet selection. There was a separate buffet for kids and of course the Disney characters make their way to each table and have intermittent dancing with music overhead. Our waitress, Jo Jo, was amazing and they brought our daughter a birthday cupcake and birthday card. We had such a magic experience here and it was probably one of our favorite memories for our trip. Definitely recommend!!

Jennifer G.

Yelp
I love character dining & I like the freedom of buffets. And FYI character dining wasn't on the menu when we visited the Animal Kingdom. As we exited The Festival of the Lion King, we followed a heavenly smell that lead us to Tusker House. Thank goodness they had walk in availability. There were at least a dozen things I could eat as a celiac, Itried them all except they didn't have the butternut squash on the menu :( all were good, many exceeded my expectations. The shrimp was my favorite. Bursting with flavor it was easily the highlight of my lunch and the chocolate mousse ending was perfection. I do wish I'd had more desert options but I digress. The character experience was lengthy and personal, fun and frequent ( this sounds sacrilegious but dare I say too frequent?) We scarcely ate a bite before we were blessed with more of Disney's cartoon royalty's company. The venue was well decorated in a generic African market theme and smelled terrific! The music was festive and enjoyable but the hard surfaces lent to a lot of noise enhancement. If you have sensory issues to loud noise you may wish to prep with earplugs. The server was amazing she was funny and personable, professional and prompt she diligently kept our drinks full and our plates cleared. Her explanation of allergen policies and choices helped me to feel secure as I was eating. ( hakuna matata am I right?) Jeff and I really enjoyed Tucker House. The lunch was pricey because it was character dining. We found it to be well priced for the experience. We hope to return on future trips to Animal Kingdom.

Dante M.

Yelp
This is a CAN'T MISS DINING EXPERIENCE IN ANIMAL KINGDOM! Our family had such a good time here meeting the different characters and eating delicious food! The highlights were actually The majority of the ethnic items, but if you have kids they have an American food section. Everyone can find something they love here! Well worth the price for the quality and entertainment! The service was also phenomenal, as we were checked upon multiple times and always had our plates cleared when we were finished!

Marissa T.

Yelp
We really enjoyed this place. Several different food options, got to meet Mickey, Goofy, Donald and Daisy without having to wait in long lines, and our server, Donna, was very attentive. It is loud inside because it is primarily families with small children but that was to be expected.

Trisha W.

Yelp
Buffet and character meet and greets? Yes please. We were sat and greeted quickly. After our drink orders were taken, the three of us were off to the buffet. One of my friends has a gluten allergy and was given a sheet to let her know what were gluten free friendly items. A cast member made us aware that we can start anywhere in the buffet line, no need to wait at one end or another to start piling our plates. My OCD is not okay with that. Also, this was my first visit and so working from one end to another was best for me. The characters came by and spent time with us. Never in a rush and many photos were taken. They even danced for us. That was marvelous.

Megan K.

Yelp
Donald's Dining Safari Lunch at Tusker House $59 per adult, plus tax and gratuity Tusker House is one of our favorite dining experiences in Disney. We love the theming, characters (Daisy, Donald, Mickey & Goofy) and food. The variety here is great especially for plant-based eaters. You have tons of salad options, breads, meats & cheeses for non plant-based options. The mac & cheese is easily one of the best on property. Lots of veggies, fish and starch options. They have a few dishes available in the kids section that are less seasoned and a little more basic for picky eaters. We always find that because this restaurant is never super crowded you will be able to see the characters multiple times in 1 visit. The Dessert table has many tasty options as well.

INDIA O.

Yelp
By far the best experience we've had in any Disney Park. Angel the waitress was super attentive and sweet. She stayed on top of our wants at the table. The food was delish and keeps coming from their unlimited Buffet. My favorite was the Chicken and rice, with a little bit of the chutney sauce. I mean the food was out of this World, even the kids were wanting more. Angel suggested 2 adult beverages and let me just say they were a nice way to cool off and did the trick as they both were very strong. It was just what the doctor ordered. The fact that the Characters come to your table is a plus. They even put on little shows in between. At the end the bill was a little pricey but so worth it. I highly recommend this place. It was also a nice way to cool down as the Sun was unbearable.

Connie M.

Yelp
Best character dining experience so far! I went to Cinderellas royal table and Minnie's Hollywood Vine and both pale in comparison to Tusker. Here Goofy, Minnie and Mickey, Donald and Daisy made multiple rounds for pictures in their best safari attire and not only that, they have intervals where the restaurant plays music and they dance! It was an actual mini performance that the other character dining experiences lacked. The food was also way better. It's buffet style that they bring to your table and if you like any of the options you can ask for more. I like this style because you get to try a bit of everything for the price. See below for my sentiments: -bread service: comes with a potato chip like thing and rolls, with three chutneys. There was an orange hummus like one, a green one that was the sweeter one, and a mango chutney that was meh. -salad with pickled onions and tomatoes on the side: dressing for the salad tasted mainly of vinegar. I preferred the pickled onions and tomato tbh. -mac and cheese: delicious! Creamy and cheesy -chicken: very soft and delicious, plain chicken but at least it was flavorful from roasting. This was probably my favorite protein from the bunch. -pork: the fattier bits were tasty, it mainly had dry pieces that were harder to eat -beef: it was okay, slathered in the sweet green chimi sauce. -rice with shrimp green curry: shrimp was small and the curry sauce was really mild so don't be afraid of this dish if you don't like strong curry flavors it's very mild and not very creamy. -potatoes: way too salty -green beans, corn, carrots: standard steamed veggies -deserts trio: it was meh At the end of the day I was glad to say I visited this place to see the characters in safari wear. That was the highlight of my meal! Oh and fyi, if you have a picky kid you can make special request for French fries apparently they can ask the chef to whip these up!

Glory S.

Yelp
I booked reservations for today, and this was our first time trying this restaurant. The food was wonderful. There are so many things to try on the buffet including baked salmon, curry shrimp, tandoori grilled chicken, rice, Moroccan couscous, watermelon salad, ginger carrot soup, and more. There is also a kids area that had chicken strips, mac and cheese, corn, potatoes, and more. There is a bread station, salad station, charcuterie station, and a dessert area. Mickey, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy come around multiple times. You can dance with them, hug them, take many photos, etc. Soft drinks, lemonade, coffee, juices, and iced tea are all included. This is definitely worth the money.

Amy P.

Yelp
This is usually a four-star for me, but this time I have to give it a two . I went to Disney during spring break. We loved Tusker house and normally look forward to it. It was very disappointing. The food was not replenished, and we had to keep waiting and waiting for different entrées. Things were picked through. There were no chutneys by the naan bread, just empty bowls. I got up numerous times to see if they had been replenished, still nothing. The food we ate was good, but some of it was overly salty. It's hard to keep getting up from different rooms and going to the Buffet to check if food has been replenished. With the characters walking around, you don't have time to be running back-and-forth to the Buffet or you'll miss meeting one of the characters. We were all disappointed. Not the food we remember.

Olivia B.

Yelp
We recently visited the Animal Kingdom and were lucky to snag a dinner reservation here. Didn't know what to expect other than getting to eat and see characters. Boy, we're we blown away by the experience! First of all, the meal here (preset menu) was so flavorful and delicious- by far the best onsite meal we had during our Disney Word visit (animal kingdom, magic kingdom, and Hollywood studios). The service was great. And the characters individually came to each table an employee was there to take photos. My son loved meeting each character (and so did I)! If you can get a reservation here, I HIGHLY recommend it! You will not be disappointed.

Angelica T.

Yelp
Amaaazing. Don't think I've been to a better character dining ever. The characters are fun and gotta love it when they dance around. Due to the pandemic, you can't go near them so it's a bit heartbreaking seeing kids faces when the characters they so want to hug back away from them, but otherwise the character interaction was pretty good. Mickey and Donald specifically were great entertainers. Goofy and Daisy were a bit colder. I have no idea why Minnie wasn't there. It's the Fab-4, not Fab-5 here. The food was so awesome my husband said he would pay the high price even without the characters. It is not an absolute Must when we are at animal kingdom. The highlight of this meal for me was the BREAD SERVICE. They had a chip made with chickpeas, I believe. It was light and crispy and was perfect with the Dipping sauces. It was so good, we asked for more. The highlight for the boys was the large meat platter that comes with MOROCCAN SPICED BEEF, SPIT-ROASTED HERB CHICKEN, and BERBER MARINATED PORK. The HOUSE-MADE MAC & CHEESE was delicious but has to be eaten quickly. Once it gets cold the cheese isn't so soft. The BLACK EYED PEAS were meh but then again I don't like peas so don't take my word for it. The CAPE MALAY GREEN CURRY SHRIMP was okay. Not enough sauce. The dessert was meh. Instagramable but not that tasty. The staff was great and they were receptive to our request to be moved because the original table they assigned to us was at the back corner, where we knew we would rarely see the characters. We ended up at a great spot to celebrate our birthday boys.

Yelp
My nephews who are 2, 4, and 6 absolutely loved meeting the safari-themed characters. Each character spent ample time at each table and were quite patient with the children. The food was surprisingly decent for buffet food. While the cost may be high, it's well worth it to see the smiles!!

Yelp
I'm usually not a fan of character meals. They are really expensive, you get limited interactions with characters, I never eat enough to justify the cost of a buffet. But this one was fantastic! I came with a group of six, including people who will eat anything and people here are extremely picky eaters. Everybody was very pleased with their meal! There are traditional options such as eggs and bacon and waffles, and regional favorites like rice and curry dishes. Everything we tried was delicious. The juice they serve is amazing. It reminded me of being on safari in Africa, when you pull up to a lodge they always had fresh tropical juice waiting for you and this tasted just like it! The characters were a lot of fun, we got to see everyone and take some great pictures. We will definitely come back again!

Yelp
Tusker House was the best character meal we did at Disney and they had a great breakfast selection, so it was among the more cost effective of character options available. Donald Duck is the "host" and he has Mickey, Daisy, and Goofy with him who walk around the restaurant. It takes them maybe 45 mins when full to cover the whole space and meet every guest, and then they do a little parade through the center of the restaurant too. For food, as with everywhere else in Disney, the allergy menu is very helpful and there were plenty of options for all allergy and dietary restrictions. They had your standard breakfast fare (Mickey waffles, eggs, bacon, tater tots, fruit, etc) but also had some impressive additional options like smoked salmon, a number of different African options, and some middle eastern choices too like shakshuka. There was also a special fruit juice they served that was specific to this restaurant.

Yelp
Why aren't more people talking about this buffet????? I've been going to Disney parks forever and it's my first time eating here and it was SO GOOD!! I'm so angry it took me this long to try this!! We usually eat at Yak and Yeti but had some changes to our itinerary and ended up with last minute reservations to Tusker House for breakfast. Now, I'm a big Animal Kingdom fan..I just love the vibe here and just like with Yak and Yeti you can walk by Tusker House a hundred times and not realize there is an enormous full restaurant inside. The outside is very unassuming and I'm here for it. It was incredibly busy and pouring rain so people were taking shelter in the waiting area so it was crowded, but we were seated fairly promptly...within 10 minutes of checking in. It is huge inside with the characters singing and dancing..lots of kids everywhere and people walking from various rooms to the one central buffet so it is bustling and noisy but so fun and quite well organized. We were greeted by our delightful server handing out the special juice (forget what it's called but it's delish and my husband had 3 glasses) and probably the best coffee I had on property . Then off to the buffet we went. Now when I looked at the menu online I feel it GREATLY understated the offerings. I was completely overwhelmed at first. I had to take it all in. Of course there is the standard Mickey waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage which sadly I saw most people eating as I walked back and forth from my table. Stop it! You can get that everywhere...literally everywhere!!! Let me tell you about this buffet! So excited! Ok in addition to the bacon and standard sausage there was also some really delicious ham and some incredibly good (spicy) andouille sausage nicely cut and easy to grab. There were bagels, croissants and various bread offerings with whipped butter, strawberry whipped cream cheese and a delicious orange marmalade. So good. This led you to the yogurt section where you could make your own bowl with vanilla yogurt, granola, and a heavenly blueberry compote. I had 2 of these! Also overnight oats available. Then on to various salads including a light and refreshing watermelon feta salad( loved it) and a really really good chickpea salad. Then various egg dishes including hard boiled eggs, a garden frittata (get this!) and a tomato based poached egg dish which was really good but I have no idea what it was called. Then the curry!!! Oh my goodness yes! Jasmine rice with an outstanding red curry dish that literally stole the show. Fresh fruits including grapes, whole bananas and whole apples as well as sweet bread/pastry type offerings. I know I'm not remembering it all and I was too busy eating and drinking my never ending cup of coffee to take pictures (I'm so mad I didn't), but this was by a long shot the best meal on Disney property. Shout out to Tusker House! Now I want to try lunch! Eat here and try new things!!!

Yelp
First time at Disney and we had scheduled our first character meal here. It was incredible, the buffet was an incredible spread and our waiter was real nice. I loved the juice will definitely come back when we visit!

Yelp
Great food, quick service, and great ambiance with character dining. We got to see Mickey, Goofie, Donald and Daisy. We also go to see them do a song with dancing! Priced at about $50 per person, but worth the memories!!

Yelp
Breakfast or lunch unlimited. Highly recommend for breakfast as the juice is great and the breakfast selection is excellent. All you can eat and you get excellent 1:1 time with the characters. This is a must do on all our trips to Disney.

Yelp
Tusker House did not disappoint yet again! This time the food was family style instead of buffet. The beef was ah-mazing! Seasoned and cooked perfectly, we had to have 2nds! The shrimp was amazing too! LOVE the fact that this was one of the few restaurants that currently has character dining. You had to keep socially distant, but it was ok b/c you can still get a picture. :)

Yelp
This is a great "family style" restaurant in the middle of Animal Kingdom. It's a great spot to have a relaxing sit-down meal for a while, without spending all day or a ton of coin. Plus, there's really no way you'll leave hungry, as they will keep bringing you out your favorites as you finish them off. We couldn't get past the first plate, though, as there was only three of us in our party. Still, it was more than enough food, and we didn't have to get up and go to a buffet line to grab anything. I'm pretty sure that's due to COVID, but I appreciate the consideration. They had character dining when we last went, which is always a ton of fun for the kids (of all ages!). The main characters were in safari-type getup, so it was thematically appropriate for the park. The service was great. We were seated faster than anticipated, and our server kept the refills coming faster than we could keep up! The food was okay, if I'm being honest. They had some standouts, like the steak (sliced flank) and chicken. But the veggies were only so-so. I remember the curry was good, too. Definitely some solid choices, but some of the meat was a little too dry. Overall, though, a great selection. Like I said, if you left hungry, it was your own fault. Overall, it has a great ambiance and a no-fuss menu. Solid service and fun theming make this place a must-do in AK. Not my number one choice, but it's always a great experience whenever we visit there. (Spoiler alert: Tiffin's is the best in the park!)

Yelp
Was able to manage to pull reservations to this place and it's great because they offer Disney Characters during dinner. Service - It was great our waiter was on top of everything, always checking in the right times, and always on top of the kids needing anything. Food - The food was avg as it was lacking a bit of freshness and taste. Portions are good, but you can always as for more as that Portions wasn't a issue. Price - It was decent as you have all you can eat and they have the characters for the kids. Venue - A classic older look but clean and they have a lot of seating available to provide service for many. Overall cool spot that I would come back to and recommend to others.

Yelp
Ok, i get it, you're not here for amazing food but at these price points you can do a shit ton better Disney. Everything here was boring except for the chicken curry. These set prices are highway freaking robbery for the actual product you receive. The book signing & picture taking with the characters is the draw at this restaurants but if you're willing to stand in line you can do that for virtually free without this terrible ass overpriced food.

Yelp
This was probably our favorite place to eat in all of Disney World. The breakfast buffet was great and loved seeing the characters in their safari outfits. Amazing food! Amazing atmosphere! Definitely recommend. Service was great too!

Yelp
Tusker House Restaurant is an African-inspired restaurant inside Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park at Walt Disney World. The theme park opened in April 1998. The restaurant is themed around the fictional Harambe Marketplace. In addition to the eatery's delicious African-inspired dishes, diners are also treated to visits of classic Disney characters dressed in their best safari outfits. My family and I had lunch at Tusker House while we were on an East Coast Road Trip. It was our second day in Disney World and we were joined by some of our friends and their children who were staying in an adjoining hotel room. After having fun exploring Animal Kingdom in the morning, we headed to the restaurant. We really loved the interior of the place! All of the children in our party were very excited to have visits from Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck and Goofy. To drink, I ordered a can of Tampa Bay Brewing's "Old Elephant Foot IPA", which was very refreshing on such a hot and humid day. All of the food dishes were served to us family style and we all ate a little bit of everything. We started off with assorted house-made breads and salads served with hummus, coriander and mango chutneys. Afterwards we were treated to a platter of Moroccan-spiced Beef, Spit-roasted Herb Chicken, Berbere-marinated Pork, Green Beans with Carrots and Corn, Roasted Potatoes and Jasmine Rice. The next plate was Cape Malay Green Curry Shrimp served on Jasmine Rice. The children were also served House-made Macaroni & Cheese. For dessert, we were served a mixed plate of Animal-inspired Mini Desserts. They were as pretty as they were delicious! All of the food was fantastic and the visits from the Disney Characters were the icing on the cake!
