Awesome service.
Almost imperceptible piped in music, that they should just nix it.
The lighting was sub average and my above average squint only resulted in a transient headache.
The seating was a little bit tight but not so bad, not so bad at all.
The bread basket was awesome, with some nice bread sticks that had a hint of Parmesan cheese and some wafer bread that also tasted pretty good.
We started out with the Caesar salad which was certainly well above average with very little brown greens and a perfect amount of dressing without smother or stinginess. Thankfully, no sardines, and in its place a nice large piece of Parmesan cheese. We tried the calamari and it was nondescript and Sommer are inspiring but the marinara that it came with made up for that and had a healthy amount of garlic and taste to it. The veal Parmesan was served with a medley of vegetables Including potatoes broccoli and squash, they were well cooked and appropriately seasoned. The veal was pounded well And as tender as one could've hoped, The topping of cheese was well proportioned and melted to perfection. The amount of sauce was just right. I also tried the spaghetti Americana, appetizer size, which came with onions and bacon and a healthy amount of sauce. It was good, perhaps not good enough to order again Or as a full portion, but it wasn't unpleasant and provided for a good supporting act if you get my drift.
My chronically disaffected son got the chicken Parm, and when I asked for feedback, his remark was I don't know. I'm not sure. What do you want me to say. And finally, leave me alone. In summary, I would say these comments, from a 15-year-old , probably means he liked it a lot.
Anyways, I really was thinking about giving this place three stars, but I felt as though the choice of entrées, appetizers, desserts, the great service, and the food which tasted pretty good, made me feel as though this place probably would have a hard time disappointing even the most easily disappointed person.
