Nashville’s New Restaurant Openings

"Taking over the former Kabob and HQues spot, Twenty First gives Hillsboro Village one more finer dining option in a sea of taco and burger bars. The bi-level space from the Dalton’s empire brings prime rib empanadas, truffle caesar salads, and duck breasts with blackberry gastrique to the neighborhood. Cocktails are also a bit more elevated with stuff like macadamia cold foam and red wine floaters." - jackie gutierrez jones 2

From the moment I walked in, I was completely blown away by the level of customer service. The team ran like a well-oiled machine—everyone working in sync, greeting guests with genuine warmth and making sure no one went unnoticed. Kendra and William were absolute stars, attentive and personable from start to finish. The manager impressed me immediately by acknowledging the SMALL birthday bag in my hand before I even mentioned it—now that is attention to detail! The atmosphere was just as incredible. The rooftop view was stunning, and the overall ambiance was everything I didn’t know I needed. Then came the food… and WOW. I wish the chef could move in with me because every bite was to die for. To top it off, he came out, greeted us, and even shared a few laughs—such a nice touch that made the experience feel personal. Twenty First Nashville is a gem. Warm staff, beautiful space, unforgettable food—this place is exactly what the city needed. Can’t wait to come back! Thank you Kendra, William, the manager, and Chef for making my Birthday so special !!

Oh my goodness, so happy we found this gem of a spot for dinner tonight! Apparently they are known for brunch, however, this will be our new go to spot for a very special and fun dinner! The staff: Jeffrey, William, Corey, and chef Eric made this such an outstanding experience for our whole family! We highly recommend the prime rib, the short ribs, Tuscan, chicken, empanadas, Deviled eggs… The food was amazing and the service Top Notch! Jeffrey, we are so grateful for the exceptional way you cared for us during our dinner!

I live in Nash and came for lunch last Sunday. Incredible food! Gotta try the deviled eggs. Service staff is super nice and quick. I also accidentally left my sunglasses and came back the next day and the owner and kitchen manager helped track them down! They were both so nice, showed me around the restaurant and were so excited to serve the people of Nashville!

Google
This place is great. Small (paid) parking in back. Atmosphere is great. Service was great. Food - oh so good!!! Tommy was our server and boy did he deliver. What a fun guy who felt more like a friend hosting us for brunch! He made our Mother’s Day treat fantastic! The bacon app is to die for!

Google
We’ve been to Twenty First twice now and can’t wait to go back again. It is just a quick walk from where we live, and we’re excited to finally have a restaurant like this in Hillsboro Village. They know how to make special occasions extra special with complimentary champagne and excellent service. The food is great. The offshore assassin might be one of my favorite drinks ever. Thank you Brandon for taking care of us at the upstairs bar! It’s on our list to come back for brunch soon.

Google
Brunch here was amazing! I went this morning with my girls as we are celebrating a bachelorette and honestly the food and the services wasn't the best we have had the whole trip here. Our server Tommy was the best! He was so nice and had great recommendations of food and drinks. If we comes back to Nashville in the future we will definitely be back. I recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Google
Had an amazing brunch experience. The food was amazing and service was just icing on the cake- Joe and Heather took customer service to the next level. Joe is the definition of hospitality and his warm heart was perfectly paired with his amazing food recommendations. Started with the bacon appetizer and hands down the best candied bacon I’ve ever had. The shrimp on the shrimp and grits was perfectly cooked and so juicy (asked for shaved parm on top and thank me later ;). My mom got the brûléed French toast and couldn’t talk for 5 mins, she was enjoying ever bite and said it was perfectly crunch on the bottom and top! Didnt try the deviled eggs but all the tables around us couldn’t stop talking about how amazing they are. I have my eyes on the short rib hash for my next visit. Definitely a brunch spot that will be a regular go-to.

Google
This is an impressive new restaurant in Hillsboro Village. I was celebrating my birthday and they gave us complimentary glasses of sparkling wine! The scallops have several flavors they play well together. The fried green tomatoes with shrimp are nice. I didn't like the Bloodline cocktail because it wasn't whiskey forward and I wasn't charged for it even though I drank it. Our server was also the bartender but it wasn't crowded and she was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is a warm, modern vibe. I would definitely return!

Yelp
Ash was amazing girl deserves a raise. It was so pretty up top Ash definitely helped us have a great time!!!

Yelp
My husband and I went to Twenty First for brunch this weekend and it was so much fun! We arrived, just the two of us on a Saturday afternoon without reservation and was able to be seated immediately.++ The minute you walk in you can hear the DJ curating the vibe for the entire restaurant. People are up dancing, having engaging conversations and the staff is very welcoming! We came pretty hungry so we did order a few items, but I'm going to highlight my favorites! First the Nashville hot chicken dip was absolutely amazing. We came in wanting to try their Wake and Bacon (because it was popular on Tik tok and their recent reviews) but once we started to order and explore the menu, our waitress highly recommended the Nashville, hot chicken dip, so we tried it! To keep it simple, it did not disappoint! It was so good! And it came out steaming hot and cheese, bubbling!! My husband ordered the hangover Smashburger and he loved it! He said that he's going to stamp them for the best brunch burger in Nashville (& he's a local). I ordered the smoked salmon Benedict, and I like my eggs cooked hard. The Benedict was very flavorful and extremely filling! (I couldn't finish it all). As far as the bar, I have zero complaints. I ordered the rain delay, which had ginger, eucalyptus and a Grey Goose strawberry, lemongrass liquor, that was very unique & it was garnished with a ginger candy, which was very tasty as well. Overall, I really enjoyed this restaurant and I highly recommend for brunch in Nashville!

Yelp
Service was good but the food was just ok. The vibe was nice though. We ordered the Bacon and Brussels which was a 4 (out of 5). Smash burger was Mid or a 3. The glizzy tower was also mid and you're at the chef's mercy as to the toppings they put on the hot dogs as they have a NO substitution policy. As a native Chicagoan, I don't play when it comes to my dogs. Although they were beef (which is critically important to me), the toppings were a straight PASS, meaning a 1 (out of 5). Also, there is no way ketchup should be put on a hotdog after the age of 5! Pico di gallo has NO place on a hot dog - EVER!!! The best thing were the tower fries which were also Mid. All that said, I will give this place another try and come back as the vibe is nice, although touristy.

Yelp
We went for brunch and it was quite the experience. We were seated at one table to start but were shifted to another a few minutes later. One of the team members, not our servers, graciously comped us chambongs for the entire table for having to move. I do want to note this place isn't the most vegetarian friendly, with the only options being a salad or avocado toast or the French toast. If you want a heftier brunch, I recommend trying elsewhere as they were unwilling to make modifications to other entrees. The positive was the food. Everything except the avocado toast was delicious. We got the burger, the shrimp and grits, the French toast, and the salmon salad. Everything was great! Our servers weren't the most attentive, with us having to wait long periods of time for our order to be taken and our drinks were only refilled upon asking. Once food was brought over, we didn't have silverware given the shift in tables and had to wait for the team to come back over to request some. I know this place only recently opened, hence the three stars instead of two.

Yelp
Had the ceasar salad with salmon while on a lunch break during work. I think the dressing was pretty good and the salmon was well cooked, but it wasn't anything super special. There was only one functioning bathroom when I went and there was a long line for it which was a bit annoying. Otherwise a decent experience here.

Yelp
Loved the vibes at Twenty First! It's a great summer option with lots of natural light for brunch. While the vibes were high, the food was just okay. Nothing was terrible, but nothing changed my life. As a foodie, there are better brunch options if you're willing to trade off on the fun vibes. Worth trying!

Yelp
This was our first time here and as soon as you enter the restaurant you could feel the vibes. They played music of different genres and it wasn't so loud you couldn't have a conversation, which I liked. My sister and I brought my mom here for Mother's Day. If you can find parking in the back, they do offer free parking for 90 minutes. I ended up finding street parking. We started off with the Nashville hot chicken dip. It was delicious, and it had a nice kick to it. It wasn't too spicy. My mom and I love spice and rated it low heat and so did my sister who doesn't do spicy like that. I would order more bread bc the bread to dip ratio was not it. Our waiter was great. We were seated upstairs and I love that they have outdoor seating as well. I ordered the breakfast burrito, I didn't love the ranch dressing it came with but I asked for tapatio, they didn't have it but they did have Tabasco. We all enjoyed our meals. I definitely want to come back.

Yelp
Great place! We had the Nacho Tartare, salmon BLT and Ahi Poke Bowl. Great atmosphere and plenty of people watching. Great service from Linsey even with a busy lunch crowd.

Yelp
I went with a few friends for a girl's night and we had the best time! The drinks are so yummy and well balanced and we love how fun the garnishes are. For dinner we had the "girl dinner" and the hotdog tower--both are so fun and have plenty of food! The salad is crispy and the dressing is home made and is not your basic Caesar. The true star of the show is the hot dog tower, each one is different--we adored the chorizo with radish and jalapeno. The buns are so soft and every flavor combination was truly spectacular. The restaurant is clean, they are not blaring music which I so appreciate because we could all talk and hear each other which is rarely the case in Nashville. The service is friendly and attentive. We will be back!

Yelp
My first restaurant I tried in Nashville was awesome! The service was amazing and everything we ate was amazing! Highly recommend the all you can drink champagne and the coffee beignets. Can't believe how much we love this place. Great for brunch!

Yelp
This place is a VIBE!! I love the energy, music, decor, staff, mocktails, etc.! Such a fun place.... without country music! #Winning! The food was just okay, undercooked bacon and pretty bland salmon benedict.

Yelp
Great Brunch Spot with a great "Day Pass" for mimosas. This spot was such a vibe and had a really good DJ. We made reservations prior and were really looking forward to coming as all the pictures online looked really nice. Upon walking in this place did not disappoint. Everything was really clean and organized and the greeter to our server were super nice. Another thing I really appreciated was the GM and the cook walking around asking - how everything was tasting and just simply making sure you were liking everything and having a good time. Party of 6 and everyone enjoyed the food, drinks and coffee. Only thing was they didn't have hats available for sale and we were all ready to buy one. We let the GM know though.
google avatar

Lisa M.

Yelp
Seated 30 mins after our reservation time, and after waiting an hour for our food, we left.
google avatar

Lana B.

Yelp
Definitely a lively-party brunch vibe, the DJ was pretty good. We really liked the atomosphere, unfortunately the service and drinks fell short. We were made aware when we sat down that the kitchen was behind and the food might come out slower. No problem there, we wanted to chat and catch up anyways. Our large group was seated at a super cute and perfectly fitting table. It took a while for our server to come by. When she did come by, we all put in our drink orders. The drinks took an absurdly long time to come out, that is if they came out. Two people from our party were waiting for their drinks when the food came out. The food came out super quick and we felt like they should have warned us about the bar, not the kitchen being behind. A member of my party did not enjoy her drink and asked for a regular mimosa. After twenty minutes the server came by asking if we needed anything and my friend politely reminded that she was waiting on a drink. The server then asked if anyone else wanted drinks, and lastly asked my friend what she had ordered. When everyone else's drinks came out, she still had not received her drink. At that point we said to forget about it, although she would have enjoyed having. drink or two. The food was not bad, not super great. The deviled eggs were pink which was fun. I got the poke bowl which actually tasted pretty fresh! I think it could have used more seasoning or sauce or toppings- just something to make the flavor stand out. Long story short, I think they will get on their feet eventually. They really need to work on timeliness. Keep up the DJ and the interior.

Yelp
Went for brunch, my experience was pretty bad, mostly because the service was horrible. The wait time for the server to attend to the table and the time for the food to be delivered to the table was ridiculous. (I had a friend the had the same experience the week prior). The food was mediocre. I did enjoy the french toast and beignets. Overall the brunch gave party vibes, great DJ/ music. I would recommend for drinks and to hang out not for a dinning experience.

Yelp
I was in Nashville visiting family and my cousin chose this place for us to have a late brunch on a beautiful Saturday. This place is located on the corner by parking garages and street parking. There is a nice patio outside and that's where we set. Our server took awhile to come greet us and we all ordered a beverage and eventually food. Everyone's glasses were empty and she didn't ask if we wanted to order additional cocktails. I guess you could see it on our face because here comes to Executive Chef over to check on the food and my aunts definitely let him know how the food and service (or lack there of) was. He brought over free samples of some cider and chatted with us for a bit. He is the reason this place is getting 3 stars. My short rib was tender, but lacked seasoning and I had a very fatty piece in my plate. The potatoes were also not seasoned. My aunts and cousins enjoyed their meals. The music started off rocky but definitely switched up as the demographic switched up.

Yelp
I wanted to love this place. I came in town hearing good things, and while the food displays and drinks are creative the ambiance wasn't what i expected. Music was way too loud the waiters couldn't even hear our order. My friend and i sat in silence because we couldn't hear each other. I asked twice if they could adjust the volume slightly lower and it wasn't done. I'm sure this is great for a fun for a group of gals looking to take on the town but wasn't for me. Food was satisfactory.
google avatar

Liza B.

Yelp
Yes, you should go! If you're looking for a fun brunch and a fabulous start to your day or weekend this is the place. Pretty dining room, great rooftop, and patio seating. Lively music, and everyone is enjoying themselves. This place brings out happiness. Friendly staff. Fun cocktails and good food. Perfect spot if you're celebrating.
google avatar

Brant L.

Yelp
The greeter had a terrible attitude, food and drinks took very long to come to the table and the music was obnoxiously loud, will not be coming back.
google avatar

Eric R.

Yelp
Excellent service and great ambiance. The food was very good. I got the Breakfast burrito which isn't at all authentic but was tasty nonetheless. Very cool place and everyone work there was very friendly.

Ambria B.

Yelp
Made reservation to try brunch on a Saturday. It was pretty busy. The place was LOUD but a vibe. Cute aesthetic as it pertains to the environment and food presentation. I ordered the beignets and hot chicken dip for appetizers. Beignets were good, the dip was underwhelming. Didn't really have a dip consistency. We were told food would take 30 minutes (it actually took about 15-20). My entree was the French toast which was okay. My friend ordered the short rib hash which lacked flavor. Cute place but I'm not pressed to return.
google avatar

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
This dinner experience was a roller coaster ride! Free parking for 90 minutes but it took 60 of those to get our food. Delicious chicken dish but it was the size of half a breast. Great presentation of the Caesar salad and fries stacked "Girls Dinner" but the fries were average shoe string fries and the salad was bland. The ambience is awesome but the service is painfully slow. For every good point there was a counter point. There are just too many good restaurants in Nashville to revisit a moderate one. Sorry Twenty First. I wanted to love you because you are so cute, but I just can't.

Cody K.

Yelp
Made reservation for 12:45. Arrived 5 min early only to wait for 25 min. Fast forward to 2:25pm and we still don't have our food, if you're hungry, go somewhere else. Did get to try a hash brown appetizer which was sub par..
google avatar

Mandy R.

Yelp
Visited this new place and ended up having an appetizer only. The shrimp Rangoon appetizer was delicious however the menu was limited so we went elsewhere for dinner. The service was good, we had a reservation so there was no wait time and the place was not crowded. It is a dimly lit space with a romantic ambiance. Due to the limited options I likely will not return.

Yelp
Our large friend group had reservations. We were seated promptly and loved the vibe! The food was delicious and service was attentive. We will definitely return for a wonderful and fun brunch!

Yelp
Where to begin! It was a fantastic start to my birthday celebration. The restaurant is impressive, even just walking in the door. So pretty! Tommy, amazing Tommy, our server, was over the top. Incredible service by Tommy and Tanner. Tommy was quick to help in deciding appetizers. The prime rib empanadas were so, so delish. The beignet type dessert, with a sparkler to celebrate, was something to fight over. We all loved them! Am looking forward to our next visit to Twenty-First. Definitely planning on trying their brunch soon. Thank you for making my birthday extra special!
google avatar

Vinnie B.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place. Great location, love the open-air concept, and the staff is really nice. But the food is mid at best. The menu is super-generic (they really need to mix things up , food-wise). And the music was, like, 2010's EDM? I dunno, man...
google avatar

alana b.

Yelp
We loved everything about the Twenty First! The crab Rangoon and tuna tartar apps were insanely good, we got a variation of entrees and everyone loved what they got. We also got two desserts and both were amazing, particularly loved the carrot cake cheesecake. The atmosphere is such a vibe as well. Would highly recommend!

Yelp
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Twenty First, and it's safe to say that this new gem is setting a high standard for the dining experience. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the chic and modern ambiance, which perfectly balances elegance with a cozy warmth. The menu is a delightful fusion of flavors, artfully blending classic dishes with innovative twists. Their prime rib empanadas are delish! We also loved the Salmon and halibut, both very tasty.

Laura B.

Yelp
In town visiting for a friends birthday. We definitely picked the right restaurant! Great service, food and atmosphere! Thanks Tanner!
google avatar

Brittan G.

Yelp
The food was decent but it took over 3 hours to get our entrees and while they were very apologetic about it it really put a damper on the evening. The star of the show were the crab Rangoon balls but they sadly didn't help the rest of the meal. The price is also incredibly high for the quality of food.

Yelp
Lotus is truly the greatest! You will have the best time! This restaurant is everything you need for a birthday brunch! If you want a girls girls ask for Lotus!

Yelp
Our first time here. Will never go back. Service was horrible ... we waited 1.45 hours to get our appetizers. Food was lukewarm and not much flavor. Do not waste your time going here. Nashville has so much more to offer with other choices!!!!!

Alyssa M.

Yelp
We came in excited for a nice brunch, but after an hour and a half of waiting, we left without ever getting any food. Our server never put in our appetizer order, and brought me a drink--twice--that contained something I clearly said I was allergic to. Not only is that careless, it's dangerous. To make matters worse, 90 minutes after we ordered, someone finally came over to let us know that the main entrée we had ordered wasn't even available. At that point, we had to tell them to cancel everything--we were done. Then came the most shocking and inappropriate part of the experience: the manager asked my friend if she was Black. There is absolutely no context where that kind of question is okay. Instead of apologizing for the complete failure in service, the staff doubled down and told us that we "don't understand how the service industry works." Funny, considering everyone at our table has over 5 years of experience in hospitality. Between the allergy mishandling, the ridiculous wait time, the failure to communicate, and the inappropriate and unprofessional behavior from the manager, this was truly one of the most disrespectful and disappointing restaurant experiences we've ever had. If the staff was apologetic and polite, we would not be writing this review but they were so incredibly rude we were appalled.

Meagan H.

Yelp
I was very excited to try this place - had a res for 4 people Saturday afternoon. Waited in line to get seated for 15 min, got told the only seat options were outside, the music was absolutely blasting - so we politely asked the guy to just cancel our reservation and we were going to walk somewhere else. He said absolutely, no problem I'll cancel that. I confirmed I wouldn't get charged and he said no I would not. Come Sunday - charged $40, have now called 6 times and keep being told it will be refunded and it's not. 5 days later still waiting. Not to mention a no show on my reservation via open table now. Would not suggest.

Yelp
Every time I come I have an incredible experience! Between the drinks that are perfection and the apps that are great for sharing over a good yap session, the place keeps calling me back every time.

Mark B.

Yelp
Outstanding food and service. The upstairs bar is one of the best in Nashville. Plenty of great menu options. The short rib was fantastic. Highly recommend checking this place out.

brooke s.

Yelp
The best experience ever!! Service and food was a 10/10. Chef Eric went out of his way to make us an off menu app (tuna nachos not available during brunch but a must try during lunch/dinner). Our server was amazing and knew what we wanted before we wanted it!! The DJ killed it and drinks were amazing too. Will be my new spot for sure!!!!
google avatar

Valencia S.

Yelp
I want to start by saying the ambiance/decor and service was great! The bartenders were also amazing (espresso martini). However, the food was a 3/10 at best. The salmon was meh and the pasta did not make it any better, the combo seems off. The Brussels were a little off in terms of taste and fries seemed to be frozen.
google avatar

Daryll Y.

Yelp
Overall pretty underwhelming... prices seemed a bit high for just so-so food and cocktails. The servers were great, but the management, not so much.

Kina S.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this restaurant. My friends and I went for brunch. Our food was great. Our cocktails were awesome and our server Nathan was the best. I will definitely ask for him if I come back, his customer service was superior. Love this place can't wait to come back.

Dericka Ashley O.

Yelp
My friends and I went to Twenty First last Friday for a birthday dinner. Our waitress was Kendra. She was very attentive and very accommodating. The best!!! Chef Eric came to our table, asked if we had any questions and explained anything we had questions about. The food was sooo good. We had the deviled eggs and crab rangoon for our appetizers. Very tasty. For my meal, I had the Tuscan chicken. It was amazing! We shared the banana pudding cookie for dessert. Delicious. I can't wait to go back.

Kerry S.

Yelp
Wonderful happy hour visit. Tommy took great care of us and made a birthday special. Highly recommend the prime rib empanada appetizer as well as the warm beignets.

Jerry G.

Yelp
It's SO SLOW!!!!! I walked in with my stomach empty and was looking for a lunch to kill my hunger, but I waited almost 45 MINUTES for my order after I sat down. I was even not that hungry when I got my meal... NOT RECOMMENDED

Kesha H.

Yelp
It was my first time coming here, the vibes were great, the food was great, the service was immaculate. I ordered the short ribs and they were the some of the best short ribs I've ever had. They brought out a beignet tree with this coffee glaze that was better than the beignets I had in New Orleans. I'm coming back and I'm bringing more people with me. I want to try more of their menu. Order the short ribs!

Dan H.

Yelp
Wow!!! This is a must go! John Gill was our bartender and he did not disappoint! All his recommendations drink and food wise were superb! I will definitely be visiting again!!!

Makenna G.

Yelp
The food, service, and ambience were all incredible! The deviled eggs were fantastic, and so was the salmon. The prime rib was some of the best we ever had. And our server was so nice and fun!
