Since 2017, Twisted Croissant has been reimagining the possibilities of croissant dough and providing handcrafted croissants, cruffins, and croissant donuts to Portland and the surrounding communities. We use quality local ingredients and draw on simple, nostalgic, and inventive flavor combinations to create pastries that are as tasty as they are beautiful. Some say our products look too pretty to eat. But we think one bite will change your mind.
"For years, Twisted Croissant made the most exciting laminated pastries in the Portland area, selling croissants of almost every variation and colorful chouquettes. But what makes this bakery special is its cruffin, a hybrid pastry made by twisting croissant dough into a muffin. Twisted Croissant switches up fillings and flavors for options like raspberry rose cruffins, baklava variations, and more. Twisted Croissant maintains brick-and-mortar locations on Northeast Broadway, Sellwood, and Slabtown; the pastries are also available for purchase at various farmers markets on weekends." - Michelle Lopez, Janey Wong
"The Broadway and Sellwood locations of this bakery are offering family (serves 8 to 10), sharing (serves 3 to 4), and individual sizes of desserts like pear pies with butternut squash Bavarian cream, pecan vanilla tarts, pumpkin Basque cheesecakes, strawberry Basque cheesecakes, chocolate and salted caramel tarts, and more. Two-pack u-bake pie rounds are also available for sale. Pre-orders will be accepted until Sunday, November 19. Pickup will be available on November 21-22, and limited quantities will be available for walk-ins on November 22." - Janey Wong
"While Portland is chock-full of good-to-great bakeries, truly God-tier croissants — airy and soft on the inside, flaky and buttery sweet on the outside — are somewhat rare, making Twisted Croissant a worthwhile destination even those far from Northeast Broadway. In addition to traditional French classics like the butter croissant and pain au chocolat, don’t be afraid to get twisted with creative seasonal alternatives like a Boston cream doughnut croissant or a raspberry-rose cruffin. The coffee is quite good, sparing patrons a trip to another coffee shop in the neighborhood. Twisted Croissant has stepped up its hours and baking volume, but don’t be surprised to find more popular offerings sold out by the afternoon." - Nathan Williams
"For years, Twisted Croissant has made exciting laminated pastries in the Portland area, selling seasonal stuffed cruffins (a hybrid between a croissant and a muffin), stunning striped chocolate croissants, and doughnut-croissant mash-ups in various farmers markets. The shop’s savory ham and cheese croissant gets a swipe of dijon, making it feel like the ideal breakfast sandwich; for dessert, a raspberry-rose cruffin is hard to beat. Although it can be difficult to pick the plain butter croissant from such an exciting lineup, those who do will be rewarded with a cloud-like crumb and golden crust." - Michelle Lopez
"Twisted Croissant, which gained a following at local farmers markets, offers laminated pastries with inventive flavors. These include raspberry rose croissant muffins, cinnamon and cardamom croissant rolls, and a Kalamata croissant inspired by olive bread, making it a popular neighborhood haunt." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden
